"Hidden away off the corner of Mortimer Street and Berners Street, Percy Founders is surprisingly large High ceilings, marble floors and Hockney prints. The dining room is split up into several areas for dining, lounge area and some high counters near the open kitchen At late lunch, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Staff promptly, and very pleasantly, served us and were in and out in 90 minutes We ordered roast chicken, sea trout and a burger. Then peanut butter parfaits and a cheese board for afters My burger came in a toasted brioche bun with pickles and fries (too salty). "The atmosphere at The Arber Garden was wonderful. Had my 2 little boys in tow for an afternoon out with a friend and the waiters were very prompt with asking if I'd like to place an order for their meals first, which made it easier for my friend and I to have a lovely catch up while they ate. Our starters were the lime chicken and they were delicious, the aperol spritz cooled us off, our mains were the burger and fish and chips. The portions were well sized, especially the kids meals were quite decent. The kids were kept entertained with coloring pages. The waiters interacted with the kids and chatted with them about their day. It was such great service from beginning to end. Very attentive. The facilities were kept clean and easy to access for my kids to use . Looking forward to going back soon!"

"Scarlett Green was incredibly disappointing, I’d made the reservation maybe three weeks ahead so to be sat in the worst seat in the restaurant. Really it shouldn’t even be an area where there is a table. It was right on the corner of the banquette seating. My friend asked to move as it was making her really uncomfortable, plus she has a back complaint so asked politely and the waiter was exceptionally rude and refused her request to move (bearing in mind at that time, the restaurant was near empty) we asked again and begrudging we were allowed to move. We ordered within 10 minutes of arriving and then had to wait nearly 40 minutes for our food to arrive. I had booked Scarlett Green having seen photos on Instagram where the presentation of the food was amazing. The presentation of my pancakes, left a lot to be desired compared to the photos I had seen. We luckily ended up with a different waiter to our original, who was considerably more helpful and did then (when we questioned our bill) arrange a discount for us. Safe to say we will not be returning."

"For a special birthday dinner, we had a lovely evening. The atmosphere is a little too loud perhaps for an intimate date night, but the food more than made up for it. I had the fillet with bearnaise and she had the rump with peppercorn...sauce, sharing fries and a creamed spinach plus some olives and a Manhattan. We were both confident that they were some of, if not the, best steaks we’ve ever had. The spinach was a bit too cheesy, and the olives were an absolutely massive portion for the price. The bill came to £108 including service, which is expensive however we were able to use an OpenTable dining voucher to bring this down. The manager made using this very easy (even if the waitress struggled to understand us), which is rare in that programme as most nice restaurants don’t accept them."

"We encountered a minor issue with our reservation, but the venue addressed it smoothly by moving us to a slightly later time, which we really appreciated. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I ordered a Mary Pickford cocktail, which I've had before and loved, but this time it seemed a bit weaker. Nevertheless, it was still good, and the cocktails are reasonably priced. We also enjoyed the affordable £31 set menu, which offered a few options for customization. Overall, we were very happy with our experience!"

"A birthday supper for two. Started well with a champagne cocktail. Starters uninspiring crab salad and langoustine, could have done better at home. Then they turned the music up. Why? Place was full and buzzy, now I can’t hear myself let alone my wife....Main (Quinoa and something) very uninspiring, without taste or finesse, have often done much better at home. Had a salad with it: nice mozzarella, tough orange, old fennel, no dressing; asked for some oil, which appeared; low grade stuff, always do much better at home. So far just seriously disappointed. Then waiter tips a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over my suit. A clean napkin appeared to mop it with. After a couple of minutes to see if that was it, wife heads off to beard the manager, who is a lot less than fulsomely apologetic, but offers to take the service off the bill. We negotiate a calm departure. Not fine dining. Or waitering. All in all, I have had happier birthdays. We rescued the evening with some fresh fruit and ice cream from Tesco."

"Victualer is such a gem to have in Wapping. It's a regular for me and have just been for my first Sunday lunch with the whole family, and it was excellent. Beef cooked to perfection and a delicious chocolate mousse for dessert. It's easy for this place to become too much of a regular thing because the quality of seasonal ingredients with reasonable prices makes it a constant draw. Having eaten at some incredible places, I'd pick Victualer over many of them. Their confit chicken with snails is one of the best things I've eaten recently and at under a tenner I'd go just for that with a glass of wine! My other half had a beetroot served three ways (starter) and she'd put it in one of her top five dishes of all time. I'm not naturally a fan of bio and organic wines. But the team at Victualer are always on hand with good recommendations and have certainly helped to expand my knowledge and understanding of natural wines. Really not sure what the last reviewer is on about. But then again, it's not the place for you if you're looking for an all you can eat Harvester option! I think Victualer is one of the best independent restaurants in London. I hope that other people outside of Wapping travel to it. It's worth the trip!"

"after much consultation I decided to celebrate a afternoon tee in the petersham to celebrate the 50th birthday of my friend and we were not disappointed! the environment was beautiful. the food that was presented in such magical way with something theatre was delicious and we enjoyed every bite. the service was impeccable; attentive, but not transmitted, thoughtful and personal. we spent a very pleasant couple of hours enjoying every last morsel and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere that was specially made as it was so close to christmas."

"Went with friends and had the private room upstairs which was so intimate and perfect for friends hen night. 2 lovely waitresses who were very attentive and the food was something else!! Taster menu consisting of about 5 courses all of which was excellent. Would throughly recommend for a very special occasion. It's expensive but the quality of the food exceptional. Clos Du Marquis

"I live near the Clos du Marquis and pass it often, standing alone and exposed like 'Jamaica Inn ' on the long Roman road that used to be the main London Road before the advent of the A303. It looks romantic until one gets inside, where sadly one is met with tired decor, cramped seating and uncomfortable chairs and a menu that reads promisingly but does not live up to expectations. The short wine list is almost exclusively French and contains few names that one would instantly recognise and the few that stand out like Mersault are prohibitively expensive. We had a Beaune that was not on the list and was said to be especially good, but wasn 't. However some tasty amuse guerles did appear as we scanned the short and enticing menu and selected rognons sauce diable, lamb, grouse and Dover sole. The kidneys were well prepared and the sauce pleasantly spicy, but the grouse was already deconstructed and very much less good than one recently eaten at the Boot (a nearby pub in Houghton). Tellingly the Clos ' one hadn 't been obtained from Robinson 's, the famous local butcher, on the grounds that Robinson 's were too expensive, whereas the grouse at the Boot was. Nevertheless the Boot had charged £21.50 whereas the Clos du Marquis charged £26. Furthermore the lamb was disappointing and was served in gravy covered slices reminding my French resident restaurateur of a school dinner. Worse, the Dover sole, though large and well cooked, had clearly been frozen. And it cost £27. One of the dishes most anticipated was crepes suzette, and again these were disappointing. Not prepared at the table as they should be and thick and chewy instead of light and a bit crispy at the edges. But the sauce was good. Altogether a disappointing meal despite a not insignificant cost of £144 for three."

"Botanique (and Nate) were absolutely fantastic. We recently had our wedding reception at Botanique, where we had exclusive use of the restaurant and they were generous enough to let us to decorate the whole restaurant for our wedding. The service throughout the night was absolutely fantastic and all guests had the best time. The food was AMAZING! The Botanique team were able to create a personalised menu for our event and even had individual menus made for each guest! The show stopper of the night were the mojito cocktails!!! Every aspect of Botanique was 5 stars, you can really taste and feel the love in everything the staff do here. Nate was incredible on the day and in the build up to our wedding. Nate was very patient and generous with his time whilst we were planning it all. The team even made space downstairs for our DJ and dance floor a huge hit for our guests! We really look forward to coming back very soon to try out their winter menu! Thank you to the Botanique team for an unforgettable night!"
