"Cruising the Leeds Liverpool canal yesaterday on a hire canal boat with 8 other family and friends for a long delayed special birthday celebration we decided to stop to look for refreshments and a meal in Adlington. Walking round the village we stumbled across this restaurant on the main street and asked if they had a table for 9, we weren't sure they would have room as there was a Country Fair on and the streets and pubs were very busy. We were welcomed in and given a large table by their very attentive staff who immediately proceeded to see we were settled in and gave us menus whilst taking our orders for drinks. After being given time to select our food from the very wide choices on the menu, our order was taken, each of us chosing one main course but all varied. The food was served some little time later again with their pleasant staff personally attending to see that all was in order and we were allowed to enjoy, yes really enjoy, our choice from the freshly prepared food, pasta, pizza, soup and chips which were all delicious, generous in portions and very reasonable in price. The surrounings are rustic, very clean and modern and there is plenty of room for all the patrons to eat undisturbed by comings and goings and a complete absence of music which in some places can spoil the atmosphere when too loud. Very impressed by this lovely, welcoming restaurant and cannot speak highly enough of the ambience, pleasant welcoming staff, quality of food and reasonable prices. We certainly will hope to visit again. Thanks to all at Bistecca Mediteranean."

"Well I have to say I did have it out with the manager and told him how bad it was and said I woudgo on social media bit I spent bear on100 pound for a **** experience so here's how it was so you don't get stung after reading some of the other reviews I think its right to let people know before wasting there time and money ,got there with the wife on a nice December evening and ordered a glass of red wine each ,we were served bye a young lad who gave is our drinks who was very polite and welcoming he said he had only been there a couple of months but went out of his way to make us feel welcome, nice wine awell, then the manager came over and said you can't order food at the bar until you have a table number ,ok I said can we have another wine to take to table which the young lad said I'll bring them over ,I said don't worry there's no hurry I'll wait ,the manager hurried us to a table next to a big table of eight people noisy drunk lot enjoying themselves which is fine but we are an older couple out for a quiet meal and there was only 3 full tables the place was empty lol ,stick us with the noisy lot ,anyway starters comes out missing one dish off scallops, they arrived after we said 10 minutes later ,there were 3 small scallops prise 14 quid lol ,shoudof bothered ,garlic mushrooms were not garlic mushrooms as no garlic I could taste ,my wife's salad had old flowery tasting tomatoes not fresh ,and my Mexican chicken in a mushroom sauce and rice tasted so bland and chicken over cooked was eatable but no way it was Mexican it tasted like a tesco microwave meal to be fair I eat half of it as I only had abit of toast that day and was hungry,I told the manager I was very disappointed with it all he said thanks for tge feedback, I said you should up your game here it's a nice place ,to be fair the young lad behind the bar could manage that place with good results as he knew how to treat people, but I'm sorry I won't be back as too pricey for an absolute disappointment which is a shame as such a good looking place to go ."

"So I gave this review 3 stars because I really do want to try and be fair with this review. Read on if you want an honest and fair review when dining as a couple at Sheesh Chigwell. To begin, we arrived dead on the time of our table reservation and was told the table wasn 't ready and to take a seat and have a drink. That was fine as the outdoor seating area is heated, however I don 't know how pleasant this would be during the winter months. The member of security staff at the front door was very polite and greeted us in a professional manner referring to us both as Sir Madame nice. Our table finally became available around 20 minutes past our reservation time. We ventured inside and were taken to the back where it was slightly more quiet, as many of the guests that evening being as though it was a Saturday night) were quite rowdy. We sat down and ordered a bottle of wine which was £50 £12.75 at Morrisons we used Google) and then ordered our food. The lobster spaghetti starter was delicious and my wife 's halloumi was cooked to perfection. No complaints on the starter front. The main course ... well let 's just say the monkfish ain 't worth another £50 considering it was served still swimming in water and what I would describe as 1 skewers worth ' of fish. The rest of the plate was made up of salad... loads and loads of salad. I also ordered. side of truffle cheesy chips which had a sprinkling of cheese on it and were not great for £34. My wife did not enjoy her chicken shish and when I tasted it, I had to agree it wasn 't great. Dessert was on the house thanks to our anniversary which was a nice touch. Service was alright, the waiting staff were pleasant enough but I didn 't feel the need to tip as they didn 't really heighten our experience so to speak or do anything that you wouldn 't expect... plus, let 's have it right they are charging £50 for a bottle of wine which you can get for just over a tenner, so it 's not like they 're not already earning a few quid. The atmosphere was also alright, bit dark in there but the ambience was nice. Overall, it was all a bit meh considering the hype on social media, but I suppose that 's just it .. the hype is what keeps people coming. Not the food or the service. The longer the likes of Joey Essex keeps rocking up and telling everyone on Instagram about it, the longer they will charge you £34 for a side of chips. We won 't be returning simply because it 's massively overpriced for what it is and there are other restaurants of a similar calibre elsewhere in Essex which are more fairly priced and offer a wider range of selection on the menu and better food in general."
