"BULLET FRAGMENTS inside of food are COMMONLY found here......BEWARE! I went to this restaurant to have a dinner with my close friends. We ordered the Keiseki course meals and sushi we wanted to eat, but the Keiseki course dish tasted terrible for a very expensive Michelin two-star restaurant. A more serious problem with the restaurant, was that one of my friends found something like a piece of iron while chewing on one of the Charcoal Grilled meats. It was about as big around as a pencil eraser. We were puzzled and informed of this to a server working at the restaurant. The server initially thought it was edible gold and said it could be eaten. However, soon after he saw it closely again, he said that the piece of iron was a fragment of bullet. Since the wild-hunted animals were caught with a gun, he explained that it was quite common to find bullet fragments while eating such meat. Another server reacted the same way. The response of these servers has embarrassed us as much as a piece of iron from the food. Later, a manager of the restaurant came to us, but he started explaining to us as if he were not very timid. In Britain, he explained that if you get a bullet fragment while eating wild meat, you're lucky. I was not sure whether he meant that we were lucky because we found the fragment of bullet before eating or that we were lucky because we found a piece of bullet inside of food. As we all know, the major issue was that eating bullet fragments could be bad for a person's health, however, they were neglected to mention in advance that they cooked out of game meats and there might be bullet fragments. According to the manager, in the past, it had happened to some of the other guests, but everyone thought they were just lucky. Later, the manager apologized reluctantly to us for this bullet fragment which came out of the meat, but I asked him to leave us alone. It didn't look like a manager-like behavior at a restaurant that received Michelin 2 stars."

"the restaurant was nice and the food was good. but there was a waitress that was not very pleasant with us. I think her name was maria claudia. we arrived at the restaurant 45 minutes before our booking and asked if we could sit earlier. there was a warmer who told us to go in and choose a table, but I wanted to check with the waitress first. I asked maria claudia, and she said, without checking anything and rudely, that they have kept and cannot put us before our reserved time. although the restaurant was completely empty up to two tables. that has not disturbed us, as we knew that our booking was still 45 minutes away, and it could actually make reservations before us. We sat but exactly opposite the restaurant and could see the whole restaurant and tables. we waited 45 minutes, and during this time only one or two tables were used and the rest was all empty. but we went to our reserved time. after visiting the menu we had few asking for the waitress, so we called maria claudia. she seemed to answer as if she really didn't want to answer our questions, she always looked away and rolled the eyes here. we asked them about an article in the menu, if it can be exchanged for something else, they answered no I don't think that 's what's on the menu, so I asked them not think, or are they safe? she said I don't think we can do it. So I asked her politely to check with the cook, she agreed, but never came back to inform us. we were then served by two other waitresses who were both very professional and nice."

"The Olive Branch has become a favourite and we returned for my birthday lunch and a visit to the Yew Tree Avenue. We ate outside in the sunshine in one of their uniquely decorated gazebos, although the pub is lovely and full of character. Before...I go any further, I write this review because I know that they take on board our comments and strive to get better and better. There was a big lunch party in the barn, so parking was tight and we were worried about noise. We needn’t have worried as the hubbub subsided once their food was served. We ate from their “Lunch for Less” menu. Heritage tomato gazpacho with smoked creme fraiche and wild garlic and I had the pub made black pudding with apple, curried pickled onion, egg yolk and crispy pork. Both delicious although I’d have liked more of the pickle and the crispy pork. Decent size portions none the less. We both had the pan fried sea bass with cockles and prawn pearl barley in a shellfish bisque with sea vegetables, lemon and fennel. We were given a spoon for the “soup” but it was all absorbed by the pearl barley. We were expecting it in a little cup on the side... so why the spoon? Unfortunately, the sea bass was only one fillet cut between us. Not good enough when mains are over £18. Maybe they were running low, because of the big lunch in the barn? Having said that, the skin was deliciously crisp and melt in the mouth and the flavours were superb. We don’t tend to go for meals that are all protein and carbs, so it would have made our day if the sea vegetables and fennel had been much more evident or we’d been asked if we’d like other a salad on the side. As for asking, no one came back to ask if everything was alright... I had asked for the beer list to order another with the main, but we had finished it before anyone came back... may be because of the big lunch in the barn??? Next time we’ll book a different day if there’s a big lunch in the barn! The deserts were every bit as good as you’d expect. Banana pannacotta, dark chocolate mousse, hazelnut ice and Sticky toffee pudding, miso butterscotch and Guinness ice cream. I’d have been happy with just the Guinness ice cream! The birthday celebration was marked with petit fours for both of us, on a platter iced with Happy Birthday. A nice touch, thank you. A small deduction was made by us for the standard of service, which we explained, and were thanked. Hopefully on our next visit, these inconsistencies will be rectified. The Olive Branch can excel... and they do listen."
