"When we first walked in the staff just didn’t acknowledge us there was no table of 6 available so asked if we could move the table of 2 and table of 4 together as they were next to each other and both free. At first we was told no and then after a bit of explaining we was told we’d have to wait 15 minutes so they could clear the table. There was a tray with a few empty drinks on. 15 mins was up so we all went in and sat down the tray with drinks on was still on the table and the table hadn’t even been wiped. After all getting settled the waitress finally moved the tray and explained they was busy. We ordered drinks and food together. The drinks took 20 minutes to come. I had coke in a bottle and a glass with ice in. My ice was already half melted. Over an hour later our food came out. Burgers were dry. The Mac and cheese was the worst thing I had ever seen. It was like really stodgy porridge and did not taste of cheese at all. Any time we asked the waitress something she just made it seem like we was asking her to go above and beyond for us when really we wasn’t being difficult even in the slightest. At the end we go to pay and they add a 10% service fee without even asking. Why would I want to pay 10% of my nearly £150 bill for a poor and quite disgusting service. The only plus’s side to this place was the decorations, the mayonnaise and the fact they allowed dogs in"

"Kuffler ́s sea house has been one of our starting points for years when you are visiting in a dune. located in the middle of the English garden, you can enjoy simple beer garden dinner or high-quality kitchen right at the little lake, most preferably outside at sunset. also this year the small parking space is driven (which, despite the barrier and cost obligation, does not belong to the restaurant, here deserves a third with it, and if it is the city of a little bit. and crosswise through the lightly stinged restaurant on the large terrace, to the sea. reservation for ubiers, small moment! the screaming blue migrated fatzke from the reception trembles energetically before us and presents with the grandezza of a court-ceremony master the only table that hides behind a monstrous eibe and draws us so sun, view and atmosphere. a different table? looking look about six other tables are just like our ones and marked as reserved no, unfortunately nothing free. So something more energetic: we don't like it here, then we go ahead. confrontation, swollen neck muscles and die on both sides. that the service comes in the form of the competent service, which does not want to lose its customers and can accommodate us at a smaller but perfectly advertised place in their area. decoying leaving the blue fatzke. in the aperitif, the head-naders gradually slip. the menu reveals all the breadth bajuwarischer and international cuisine, from the shiny carving with bratkartoffel to the lobster in a mussel sauce to something. after our visit to the white sausage period, everything is difficult. but there, the scampi with kartoffel insert can be sure to get with an salat and then these crustacean days with cold lobster, riesengarnel and kaviar that fits today! to make a pitiful riesling, you can't do anything wrong. you don't, Kuffler's already. four scampi claim to be laborious against three small leaves salat, the dark brot ordered to do so probably didn't want to go into the broth basket. the lobster was vintage, you should engrave the catch date in the panzer. the carcasses in the sheer had frostburn. also the sprouts had a longer ripening time in the cool shelves behind them and also tasted like that. in the caviar, you can't do much wrong, but the part of the fishermen to the brine should be smashed in favor of the eggs. on the side table are just two us tourists excluded. on the suggestion of the fluent English speaking waiter, a complete spatula plate is sold and immediately afterwards the large portion carvings with bratkartoffeln. for everyone! that's how you eat in Germany! so weep into the right and the sunset. that's going to be here."

"We live in mid Wales and so were able to go to the Tower Restaurant for lunch during the English lockdown. We contacted the hotel beforehand because we were going to have my elderly and quite immobile mother in law with us, and they were helpful with guidance as to level entry to the building etc. On arrival we were asked to stand in front of a wall mounted thermometer and be temperature checked before proceeding to the dining room. Furniture had been rearranged to accommodate social distancing, staff all wore masks or shields and there were plenty of notices to remind guests about the importance of social distancing, washing hands etc. The Tavern Bistro was not open for lunches when we visited, but the lunch menu, sandwich menu and afternoon tea menu were all available within the Tower Restaurant. Stretching for quite a length along the front of the building, the restaurant has simply stunning views over the lake and we were lucky enough to be placed at a table which made the very best of the views. The menu is quite compact at the moment, but there is a good choice for all tastes. My mother in law has a small appetite and so was happy to choose a couple of dishes from the Tapas menu, sweet potato fries and tempura battered prawns, which she is still talking about weeks later. My other half and I both went for main dishes Stroganoff Linguine Pasta and Braised Venison with Mashed Potato and Red Cabbage, both of which were delicious, good hearty food with excellent ingredients and very filling, as good quality good so often is. Being so full, we didn't have a second course but, on ordering coffees, which we took sitting on sofas in front of a roaring log fire, we each had a home made shortbread biscuit on our saucer a nice touch. It is all too easy, during this most unusual of years, to think that we have we are missing out on travel and leisure opportunities, whilst overlooking that there is so much right here on our doorstep; excellent establishments serving good food with friendly and professional service, who need us to be supporting them. The Tower Restaurant and the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel are situated in an idyllic spot, a drive to get there, yes; but a Welsh hills and valleys drive, which will soothe your soul and have you relaxed and chilled by the time you arrive. The three of us ate with two main courses, two tapas dishes, three large premium ciders and three coffees and our bill came to around £60. The service was professional and friendly, unrushed and the environment was picturesque and super relaxing. We would highly recommend a visit."
