"We used to come here all the time and then what with covid we had a big gap. I went a few months ago with my wife and it was not as good, but rather than write it off we decided to go again, and so went for dinner last night. The food is so so : lots of delivery drivers wait around outside with mopeds shining their headlights through the window whilst they await takeaway orders from the counter next door. It 's much less pleasant than it used to be, but probably more profitable. The restaurant owner is a miserable guy: ultra low customer service skills, grumpy. The setting was a bit bright, too many lights, not at all intimate. The food was mostly okay but the tempura had a Nasty aftertaste like the oil was old or dirty. Time to raise your game guys. This used to be a fabulous neighbourhood Japanese restaurant. It 's just a takeaway these days that puts up with walk in diners. Not cool at all."

"The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere in the garden, especially in the sunny weather. I thoroughly enjoyed my main course of grilled salmon. However, the dessert was disappointing as the cherry-flavored ice cream was a bright pink color instead of the expected vanilla with cherry pieces. The service could have been improved, as the starter arrived before the wine and was left at the table."

"There are many good Japanese restaurants in London (Chisou, Sakagura, Roka, Murakami, Sosharu, etc) I don't consider Kiri one of them. Kiri's menu items are priced similar to other restaurants but the standard is much lower. The quality of sushi at Kiri was poorer (sinewy and chewy), service was poor even though the restaurant wasn't busy on our visit. Our fairly light, quick meal for two (with a cocktail each and a glass of sochu each) came to £140.00. This seemed very over priced for the food and poor dining experience we had. I wouldn't recommend Kiri and I won't be returning."

"We were greeted by the owner Ken, he asked us if we were ok, we explained that we wanted to be seated for drinks. He sat us down, the waitress came we ordered and she said you must get something to eat, we just ate somewhere else and wanted to sit for drinks, so we ordered two starters with our drinks. To my surprise after we ordered Ken walked back and started to tell us that we shouldn’t have sat there if we’re just having drinks and to leave straight after the drinks. The whole vibe changed, I didn’t even want to have my drink. I paid £50 for two starters and two drinks and Ken’s horrible service. I’ve never been treated like that especially by an owner of a restaurant. Why wasn’t this mentioned before we ordered, why after? How can you tell someone have your drink and leave? When I said you are making me uncomfortable he replied, good leave. I just looked at my friend in disappointment as I recommended this restaurant to her. The reason your restaurant isn’t making enough is because of your service not customers coming for drinks. The embarrassment of him having a go in-front of the other customers wasn’t nice and the sad thing is he treats his waiters and waitresses with no respect as well as his customers."

"the best japaners in the opposite; tasty eating, cheap, great service they can not ask for much more. I went on a Sunday afternoon in the afternoon when it was quite quiet, and had a lot of straightened (all pictured). the service was fast and friendly, and offered advices to menu points. the sushi tasted fresh, the curry was unique and tasteful, and the bark was so good I would recommend it very much. for two people with a decent amount of sushi, two meals and a drink each (a tea, a beer,) it came to £40, not bad at all. overall, they try hibagon when they are in the opposite, it is good to travel."

"We had a voucher for a sparkling tea. Reassured by their website that pronounced their covid measurs were above government guidelines I allayed my 93 year olds Mums fear about going. We were able to sit outside which was of much covid reassurance to Mum...And all was well in this wonderful place which Mum pronounced to be 'the real macoy '...they even catered very impressively for my vegan diet...all was well until we paid in the reception lounge. Mum had thought we would not need to hand over our gift card as they had already got our details when we booked on the phone, but not so...she wore her mask, I was lulled into a false sense of security and destracted that Mums very poor hearing meant she had not heard and was about to walk out the door in her unstable on her feet way, as I handed the voucher over minus my mask to the unmasked young man. Mum observed no one in the lounge was wearing a mask, and the young man got very close to me. I do think this is indefensible. Today the government has changed their rules so today they would all have to be wearing their masks, but surely it 's good sense. On reflection I noted our two waitresses were walking pretty close to ' each other too. Most of the clientele seemed to be over 60...surely they have a duty of care. When i check trip advisor for much humbler eating places, alot have staff wearing masks before the government told them they must...WHY NOT HERE!? I did phone them today..I was told staff do get a temperature screen every day ...but that is only an indication. I was impressed they had hands free alcohol gel dispensers, they took our details, wiped our tables and others every hour and after someone has dined. Its a wonderful place which has let itself down."

"I had the most amazing dinner date with my husband here. While it was a little cramped and super unusual to sit so close to other people (after covid restrictions), the service and the food was worth it. We had to wait for a bout 15 minutes before we were seated, as it was very busy, but it was a pleasant evening for a little stroll so we had no problem with that. Sushi tasted great and the Ramen was perfect. My husband loved his marmite chicken and mochi. We both agreed that this place deserves a 5 star. The team working there is wonderful, very cheerful and polite, despite the super busy environment. Definitely recommend visiting, make sure to book a table in advance, as even on a working day it's packed."

"The experience from beginning to end was outstanding. After booking we were promptly asked to confirm some details, which at first you might think is a bit over the top, but then when you realise it 's all to enhance the experience, especially after you arrive and the whole experience. It felt personalised. The staff were on-point, promptly bringing out the dishes and explaining them as we went through. Very attentive. The food itself was out of this world and as a vegetarian, it 's not often you get that amount of attention paid to you. Every dish was a taste sensation. There was a lovely touch towards the end to provide us with a signed menu for our anniversary, adding to the uniqueness of the whole experience. It was lovely to have a quick chat with Chef Jono to thank him and his team. I wasn 't aware of any of his 'celebrity ' status until way after booking after my partner highlighted it, but he was a very humble guy and I just wish him and his team all the best for their continued success. I 'm looking forward to going again"

"Nice relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. All the staff we met were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Excellent service. A nice choice of dishes on the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We felt the price was very good and comparable to similar restaurants in the area. Would definitely recommend The Fox and Hounds."

"After making an online reservation for a table, I arrived at the restaurant only to find it was closed. Given the numerous messages in their inbox, it was clear they had not been operating for quite some time. This restaurant should be removed from listings, as it is no longer in business."

"Have visited this restaurant many times and always been impressed with food, service etc. Our last visit seemed to be not up to their usual high standard possibly due to being very busy. Food was slow to arrive there was a long gap between different parts of our main and the drinks arrived after the starters. The wait staff were rushed off their feet but kept their composure and could not be faulted. They did knock 10% off the bill. If we visit again it won’t be on a Saturday."

"As always my experience was, the food was excellently presented and tasty, but also in a relatively busy evening the upper floor lacked a little ambience, not by positioning besides 3 businessmen over their obviously very important day in loud voices. We moved. The background music hardly authentic Spanish! also distracted from the entire ambience. The service was very pleasant, but typical Mediterranean at speed and attention. I mentioned in my booking comments that I celebrated a birthday of friends and that I wanted to make the evening special. I came up with gifts that were opened at the table, but no extra effort was obvious what was somewhat disappointing. The selection of wines is now limited. certainly the impressive displays around the walls has decreased and while the bottle of Rioja that we have chosen was good, the 400% brand up saw a little steep even for London. Overall, I think that the message is that this is a fabulous restaurant the design and decor are stunning, but they just have to work harder in producing the culinary experience that is something more special and authentic."

"A wonderful dinner with my family catering to some very specific dietary requirements, all without complaints or raised eyebrows! We had a variety of poke bowls (some vegetarian, some with fish, some without alliums, etc. , each very different to each other, and everything that arrived was extremely fresh and delicious, exactly as ordered, and ticked all the boxes. Highly recommend Tropical Sushi we have never had a bad meal or drink here, and this was one of our best visits recently. "My partner treated me to a birthday lunch at Kipferl as we both love Käsespätzle which is a dish popular in his hometown of Voralberg in Austria. It is a dish we know well and eat often when there. Their menu promised the cheese was from Voralberg and we had high expectations for an authentic dish given this restaurant is meant to be authentically Austrian! Upon arriving we were seated quickly and ordered our meal in good time. We both ordered: käsespätzle and Kartoffel salat (Potato salad). My partner also ordered a soup of the day. Both of us had had a very light breakfast and were excited to enjoy one of our fave dishes again. The soup was watery and tasteless, made edible only by the sourdough bread. On reflection I wish we had ordered as we went along ... as this was a sure signal of the poor quality food emerging from the kitchen! When the Käsespätzle arrived the distinct cheese aroma was missing... first sign it was not what was promised. OMG! this was the WORST Käsespätzle EVER! Käsespätzle is made using four types of cheese (Käse) from the area of Voralberg This cheese is unique to Voralberg and the dish CANNOT be made without it! Without it the flavour and strongly distinct smell are missing. Whatever type of cheese they used it was definitely not the specific cheeses required for this dish The spätzle was disgusting. All you could taste was egg! The texture was wrong... it is meant to be small well formed kernels of spätzle dough instead it was soft and almost mashed... In no way did it resembled what we always eat when visiting Voralberg. The flavour, aroma and presentation was completely WRONG. The Kartoffel (potato) salad was just as awful too. Massive rounds of potato swimming in dressing. This is such a wonderful dish when made correctly... sadly this was my WORST birthday meal EVER! We were both incredibly disappointed esp. as several years ago we had tried Kipferl in Wes London (now closed) and the Käsespätzle was editle then. Clearly the chef doesn't know how to make this dish or just can't be bothered! We CANNOT recommend Kipferl as what they promise on their menu in terms of Käsespätzle is definitely NOT what it should be, not worth the price and a rip off. We were so disappointed that we ended up not having a pudding/cake and took our business elsewhere to L'Etro in London where the cakes were excellent and where I could have had a great birthday meal with my partner.. .incredibly disappointing!"

"Decent sushi, props to the chef. We had the sushi master selection for two people (28 pieces of assorted sushi, 2 miso soups and bottomless green tea) and some tuna sashimi at the end which came to £26 altogether which is a reasonable price for sushi from what I've seen. It's a small stall in the bullring fish market run by just the chef so it has an authentic feel and a nice atmosphere. I would recommend Otoro sushi however I suggest booking ahead as it is always busy."
