"Truva, located in Towcester, has only been open for a few weeks and I had high expectations after reading the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, I left feeling a bit let down. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I couldn't fault them. The courtyard location and the ambience and decor inside the restaurant were also great. However, I found the food to be disappointing. My wife and I started with the hot mezze which was uninspiring and a small portion for two people. The kebabs we ordered were very chewy and dry. Many British tourists have experienced authentic Turkish cuisine while on holiday in Turkey, but the food at Truva did not feel very authentic. The Turkish food at the nearby Olive Garden, just 500m away, is generally much better. I was genuinely disappointed as I was hoping for this new restaurant to be good. Hopefully, they can improve the food as everything else about the restaurant was very good."

"I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the staff was attentive. The service was quick and efficient, and I loved using the QR code to order online. The system was easy to navigate and I appreciated being able to add to my order as I went along and pay at the end. The soft shell crab dish was delicious and I would definitely recommend it."

"I initially disappointed that it was so quiet for a Saturday night, but a few more people came in after us. Given that it wasn't busy, service was a bit slow and not great. My starter (beetroot salad with walnuts) was good, but main course of smoked aubergine ravioli was not hot, and was smothered in too much sauce. One friend had Sliders, which arrived with not even a lettuce leaf on the side, so looked very stark on the plate, and other friend had veal escalope with loads of salad, which seemed a strange accompaniment. It didn't look very appetising, and she didn't eat half of it. We chose a Sauvignon Blanc which was fine but it wasn't Australian, so overall, I'm sorry, but I wouldn't recommend. One friend had eaten brunch in the Richmond branch and said it was great, but there is quite a difference between brunch and dinner."

"The staff were all extremely pleasant and attentive without being too intrusive. Due to the restaurant being fairly empty, we had multiple members of staff with which to deal, though this just ensured speedy service rather than errors being made. Whilst the menu choice was not the best, there were a sufficient number and type of dishes from which to choose, so that everyone in the group (4 of us) was happy with the options. The tapas portions were large enough that we all had a decent taste of each, and apart from the traditional Pide (which received no likes) the consensus was that the food was tasty All in all we had a very enjoyable meal, which, with a cocktail each and two bottles of wine came to a very reasonable £225 (with service charge) ."

"experiences have been very hit or miss. The sushi rolls are decently priced and fairly tasty, but I was disappointed with the quality of the imitation crab meat. It tasted more like a poor imitation of fake crab rather than the real thing. The delivery was on time and the packaging was secure, but I can't say I'll be ordering from Urawa again. Overall, a disappointing experience."

"Myself and my husband ate here to kick off our honeymoon. The food in Sakanas was absolutely incredible! We had the beef teriyaki and Korean steak gambi with jasmine rice, and both were gorgeous. Steak was melt in the mouth, incredible flavour and filling. Not the cheapest but well worth what you pay. Nice atmosphere, could have done with some air con as it was very hot in there! The only criticism we had was that the guy serving our table had zero customer service skills. We didn’t get a name but he was the tall server with his hair up in a top knot. No check back to see how our food was, zero conversation, came across as pretty rude and didn’t bother asking if we’d enjoyed the food. It was a shame as some of the other servers were really friendly but we didn’t tip because of his service. Otherwise, lovely meal out! Would definitely recommend for the food itself."

"Firstly , we get a takeaway from here almost every Friday night the sushi is absolutely fantastic and the food quality overall is excellent but we always collect as despite living five minutes drive away it can be very Hap hazard in terms of accuracy and time for delivery . Last week we decided to meet friends there instead 8.15 booking , food again delicious but when we asked for plates as we wanted to share a number of dishes the saucers were produced for each of us with no serving spoons. Everything seems to be a hassle when asked for . I then asked for a coffee at 9.30 I was told in a rude fashion that no I couldn’t as the kitchen closes at 9 pm !! Despite there being another two tables still in the restaurant the bleach bucket and mop then appeared to start cleaning down the restaurant ! This included the whole way down the stairs which was completely wet as we carefully tried to leave without slipping on the freshly mop floors at 10 pm on a Friday night ! you feel like you are imposing and irritating them by eating in . So 5 outta 5 for a takeaway but 2/5 as an eating in experience im afraid ."

"My wife and I visited for the first time and I have to say it didn’t disappoint. On the contrary, it impressed. The owner, his sister and the staff were very warm and welcoming. We felt more like family than customers and this made the experience so enjoyable. We had the garlic prawns and lamb’s liver to start simply delicious and cooked perfectly. Liver is very easy to overdo but this is as good as it gets. We both ordered the mixed grill for our mains. I’ve eaten many mixed grills in the past but this was just perfect and plentiful. Soft chunks of meat cooked with care. This place is a cut above your everyday Turkish restaurant. Everything about Chef’s Cuisine was just perfect. We believe that great food and service should go hand in hand and Chef’s Cuisine have nailed both. As long as they continue to meet such high standards, which I’m sure they will, we’ll keep going back. Just try stopping us!! Looking forward to my next visit already."

"Worst Indian meal we have ever had. Only thing that was ok was the poppadums. The rest was tasteless and the chicken meat quite chewy. The garlic naan was tasteless and we had to ask times before the staff offered to replace it. When...we got the replacement it came covered in small chunks of garlic. The service was also quite poor with less than enthusiastic staff. The waiter did get the manager and he tried to explain they cook their food differently to how it’s cooked in the part of Scotland we come from?? He then also offered to get us a drink each but this was once we’d paid and were ready to leave. Would much rather have had something knocked off the bill for providing us with an underwhelming meal. It is ashame as the location is nice but the food and service was not."

"Evening meal for two .....We visited Chapel House using a Gift Voucher given to us by our children for our wedding anniversary. Finding were.... Excellent a la carte menu with an alternate choice of Xmas menu. We were greeted at the door with a warm and friendly welcome, the dining room decor was lovely and fitting for the period of the building with a lovely warm and comfortable atmosphere. The service was excellent with a complimentary visit from the chef mid meal for a satisfaction report. Food rating: we would give as excellent 5* with 100% customer satisfaction. It is worth noting that this restaurant offers various Theme Nights to name just a few: Italian, French, Spanish, Flambe evenings, Fish and Game. At the end of the meal upon leaving we were accompanied to the door and given a warm and friendly thank you which along with the service and attention received left us feeling as though our custom had been highly appreciated. We would both highly recommend eating here and we will certainly visit again."

"This was our first visit to Connubio since we recently moved to Crouch End. We were very warmly greeted, seated, and shown the menus. The waiter a young guy with glasses was really friendly and helpful, giving us good recommendations for white wine to start us off (the Frascato). We then ordered the calamari to start; two lamb cutlets, a king prawn pasta, the sea bass as mains; and a side of mixed leaf salad. The calamari was delicious super fresh and soft and tasty. The pasta and sea bass were great too but we found the lamb cutlets to be disappointing. They were rather bland and without any depth or flavour, including the mashed potato with olive pate. On paper they sounded great but the dish didn't deliver. Our mixed salad also took so long to make an appearance (it still hadn't arrived when we were 3/4 through our mains) that we decided to cancel it We fed these two shortcomings back to the owner who genuinely seemed crestfallen about this, as it is his family run business. During the main meal, we had a wonderful red wine with the meal again recommended by the young waiter the Don Vito Prestige Salento. To round things off, we had the tiramisu. Oh. My. God. It was so good there's only one better that I've ever had. It was very light and we'll balanced between the coffee and the liqueur. Not overly sweet. Overall I'd recommend going to Connubio da Fabio. It has a lovely and classy vibe, friendly staff (although the female waitress tonight really just couldn't care less), and overall really great food. Just a shame about the bland lamb and the salad which had to be cancelled but everything else was great. The owner was kind enough to offer us a gesture of goodwill for our feedback. I will definitely come back again to try more of their food and wine!"

"we visited this restaurant as part of a family birthday meal. the food was moderate and there was no seasoning compared to some Turkish restaurants we visited. in addition, the service was slow. After the end of the meal we were informed that the entire meal. on a card, we were not informed yet. as a result of our overall experience, we informed a female employee member that we did not want to pay the service fee on the bill she reacted to: “You African people never want to pay their bill.” at this point we were outraged and insulted by this statement it was both racist and ignorant and not what they would expect and definitely put a complete damper in the evening. there was a very polite young male member of the staff who was very apologetic about the comments his colleague had made at this point, but the harm had already happened. the bill was finally settled and we were allowed to share the bill on request. this restaurant must clearly look at the employees they employ, as these comments negatiw enter into the business. the declaration was disgusting and I would not expect these remarks to be accepted or even tolerated in 2022 by every worker."

"Fantastic lunch today at Turquoise kitchen, we had the Adana wrap and then Sarma Beyti! We was greeted and sat down, once our order was taken we were given some delicious homemade bread with homemade garlic sauce and chilli sauce all complimentary! "Spotted this place on Yelp after so many people bookmarked it, just as well as I'm rarely in town and would never have known it existed After some negotiating traffic and road closures I arrive at the door, first impressions is .... Oh no it's just a take out place .... I go in and I'm surprised to see it has ample bar seating and some tables too! Yeah I get a seat The menu is immediately available as it doubles as your placemat, order my drinks and they come quickly. Decent amount of choice and I'm surprised at how low the prices are given its city centre location. Place an order of many things as I'm a pig Salmon maki comes first, not sure what the lovely waitress said as she placed it down however I was hungry and got stuck in, it looked different .... Then I realise it is cooked salmon.... Taste is obviously different too, just as I was feeling that it isn't really what I wanted..... Some salmon maki arrives?????? Another, this time uncooked as you would expect.... I question it and I'm told the first was for free...... What!!!! Free.... 6 maki .... To try wow! Nice! Loved it a little more now My chicken teriyaki miso ramen arrives, huge bowl, well presented and with a traditional wooden ladle, it was delightful plenty of noodles, chicken and packed full of flavour Then..... I'm feeling ashamed now .... My veg tempura arrives ..... I audibly gasp at the portion size, all that for a fiver! Geeeez I managed half the ramen and shock horror had to box up the tempura to take with me..... Anyone that knows me knows I hate doing this .... My partner Maria however does it every restaurant and it drives me crazy! However there was so much food and the tempura not even touched I had to! All that including drinks £19.20 well cheaper than I would spend in yo sushi and much more flavour with a personal service It looses a star however for the following No bubble tea as advertised on the menu (I was disappointed as I love me a bbt) The interior as much as I love an industrial/stressed/wood feel I do not however like plywood on the walls, bare concrete great, rusting metal great look, distressed wood and brickwork lovely..... Plywood cheap and nasty, I would have preferred anything even some reclaimed wood, old pallets anything but ply Next was cash only, I had none on me, it was a little inconvenient to walk down to central station to get cash out a machine and come back to pay, even if they did trust I would return (I did offer to leave my driving licence as proof of return) All in though, you go for the food and service on that I will definitely be returning"
