"Website is deceiving, and does not show the reality. The website is beautifully designed, and visually opulent giving the impression of a large, plush interior. The menus included brunch, main, dessert and drinks. The actual restaurant is very small cafe, with extended outside seating, with a few staff members lounging around. Arriving for lunch at 12 noon, the whole place was empty, and booking was unnecessary. The staff were disinterested in our arrival. We had to seat ourselves. Seating was comfortable. When asking for a menu, were told to scan a QR code on the table, and when trying to order from the main menu, was told that only the brunch menu was available. The smoked salmon and scrambled egg dish was nicely done and tasty. The ice tea was overly sweet, but the coffee was decent. It was clearly a Muslim eating place, posing as an European restaurant, with the name 'Boulevard '. That Friday, a crowd of Muslim men from the nearby mosque in Regent 's Park came in after prayers. They were treated differently, excitedly welcomed. It was clearly their regular haunt. It felt like an eating place for Muslims, where non-Muslims were not particularly welcomed. However, the other customers were friendly, and more polite than the staff. It was quiet and easy to talk, until the crowd arrived. Overall, the price for the meal was not worth the experience of eating there. Service charge was included, although service was bad. We would not go back."

"Portobello Road’s upstart little brother Golborne Road seems to be turning itself into a food destination. In the last few months I have reviewed charcoal grill specialist John Doe (see my review) and ‘US-accented British fare’ specialist West Thirty Six. At the Ladbroke Grove end of the road away from the North African and Portuguese cafés and delis that gives the area its character, sits Zayane, a Moroccan restaurant with a British twist.Zayane owner, Casablanca-born Meryem Mortell, says “Zayane is the coming together of my Moroccan roots and London, my adopted home” and to create this fusion she has brought in Michelin starred British chef, Chris Bower, previously of Thackerays and The Ivy, whose mission is to blend British ingredients with Moroccan imported spices. The irrepressible Meryem, who dances constantly to the sound of the in-house musician throughout my whole stay at the restaurant, has created an individual take on Moroccan Riad style. There are seating fabrics in burnished orange and luxuriant leather, Moroccan pendant chandeliers, sconces and tea-lights in silver and brass, terracotta and midnight-blue walls and wood jali screens which all go to create a very attractive atmosphere.I’ve been invited , on behalf of London-Unattached, with a select band of food bloggers to investigate the menu at Zayane and although the restaurant is BYO at the moment, we were treated to a Zayane Passion, a Passion fruit and vodka cocktail-actually I had six-they were pretty good!Sweet potato crisps piping hot and straight out of the fryer came with a spiky and moreish yoghurt and harissa dip.Pan-fried scallop chermoula, chick pea, tomato and cumin was beautifully spiced but I prefer my scallops seared to give that crispness on the outside.A selection of dips with hot flatbread was a great introduction to the tastes and textures of Moroccan food-my favourite was a delicious smoked aubergine dip.Saffron marinated sea trout came with cauliflower on a bed of fragrant couscous with a seafood bisque served at the table. This was a lovely dish fusing fine dining techniques with Moroccan flavours. The other main was a slow-braised belly of milk-fed lamb mechoui with an aubergine caponata. The lamb had been cooked with preserved lemons and was very tender and tasty.Chocolate delice with pistachio ice-cream was a little low in cocoa for me but the pistachio ice-cream was lovely and would have been overpowered by anything more intense.Raspberry Clafoutis came with vanilla ice-cream and was appropriately rich and eggy.Zayane is an all-day kind of a place; a working lunch menu, served within 60-minutes, is available from Monday to Friday and on Sundays, a bottomless brunch is served from 11am to 5pm, and afternoon tea is available daily from 3pm to 5pm with mint tea, coffee, Moroccan biscuits and sandwiches. It’s a great neighbourhood restaurant with a lovely vibe. A very famous actor was sitting at the next table so it is clearly picking up attention from the locals and is well worth a visit."

"Having moved to Southwark fairly recently I have visited this Byron Burger a handful of times as it is so close to me and in my opinion it is a filling, tasty meal well worth the money! My boyfriend and I love burgers in all shapes and forms, they 're great and so we are always on the search for a good burger! Having come across this Byron location we were keen to go in as it looked lovely. The decor is simple yet pleasing to the eye! I love the combination of the green tiled walls, brick walls, comfy booths and simple light fittings. The compilation of these furnishings create a very relaxed feeling, its a place you can chill in and enjoy..not too vibrant or 'in your face ' and equally not too boring. Every time that we have visited this Byron the staff have been lovely! There is not one thing that you can fault their service on. All of the team are friendly, enthusiastic and look like they enjoy working in the environment! They were especially kind when I asked to combine two desserts off of the menu to create a 'chocolate brownie sundae '. The waiter made a huge..HUGE sundae for me even in the middle of a busy shift which I really appreciated..especially being an avid chocolate lover! As for the food..its good! A lovely burger cooked how you prefer (a good sign that they are using good meats). They are very tasty and create a silence at the table as people can 't stop filling their mouths with the food! There is also a wide range of sides and inventive burger topping combinations available on the menu, suiting a variety of customers! I also highly recommend the onion rings, they are so fresh and lightly battered, better than any other onion rings my boyfriend and I have had! I wouldn 't say that the burgers served here are the best burgers in the world. I really enjoy them but their not the favourite burgers I have ever tried. Despite this I will definitely return to Byron Southwark and Byron in general, its a delicious and filling meal and definitely worth a try!"

"So I'm on a mission to lose some weight and get healthy, my daughter was adamant she wanted to come here for dessert. We heard it was under new management, so we were a little apprehensive. However, I enjoyed it before, but I used always get a waffle. We walked in, and the new owner was there to greet us. He told me straight away there weren't any waffles available, and to have some would be a half-hour wait. The waffles were the reason we went. I almost walked out of there, but my daughter wanted the ice cream instead. So we were a group of My children made their order and enjoyed it; the youngest one went for that blue ice cream. She enjoyed it but wasn't a fan of bits that were in it. The other three enjoyed their desserts. I thought I'd get a sundae; call it a proper cheat day (I have a lot of them). I got the chocolate sundae, and for once in my life, it was perfect. Not too sweet I felt sick, but just right so I could enjoy it and finish it off. Great value for money, and the customer service was flawless. I told my daughters to go make their orders, but the older were being shy, so when I was sitting on the table asking one of them what they wanted, I repeated it loud enough the owner got the gist of what I was doing, and was in the ball. Really nice desserts, couldn't recommend it enough. Will be back maybe even tomorrow for a waffle. Just gotta watch those calories. Lol."
