"My family of four frequently visits Stanley Gate restaurant. We appreciate that they always accommodate last-minute bookings. The food is consistently amazing and the service and overall experience keep us coming back. Brand, the team leader, is very professional, attentive to customers, and stands out in the team. The staff go above and beyond to make sure everyone, including children, have a great experience. We are grateful to all the employees for another enjoyable visit, and especially to Brand for always taking care of us. Five stars."

"After a long walk along the canal, I popped into the Waterwitch on Easter Sunday with the intention of just having a quick coffee. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the dishes coming out from the kitchen looked so tempting that we decided to order the Sunday roast. The food was wonderful—delicately cooked fresh vegetables, and the meat was incredibly tender. What I appreciated the most was that my roast dinner came with gluten-free Yorkshire pudding, which I had never been offered before. Even better, they could prepare the salted caramel and chocolate brownie gluten-free as well. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and one we look forward to repeating."

"Phoned to say we would be 10 minutes late for our booking, and got a lovely friendly staff. Got there and then had to wait till the two bar persons finished their wee chat so we waited longer. Then was seated next to a loud party (rest of restaurant empty). We asked to be moved, and they did this pleasantly, but i think this confused them. Our starter took ages, several wine options not available, and several main courses not available. After finishing our starter, we then waited, and waited, and waited after an hour of waiting, we went to remind the bar staff we were waiting. When our main courses turned up, we were told that we had to wait until the party of 14 had finished! Food okay, but the wait really put me off. It was a rainy Friday night, but if you were to come her on a sunny summer night, the place (I assume) would be full and client would get upset at the wait. I would be hard pushed to return, no apologies for the wait, etc. Need a manager there to manage."

"This has to be the most despicably run establishment I have ever frequented. I recently took my son for lunch on a day out, parked in the car park. There were no obvious signs at all to say that you had to notify the establishment of your car registration number. We had lunch, paid the bill, left directly only in the car park for one hour. You can imagine how furious I was to receive a £100 parking fine a week later. And to make matters worse, the car hire company had already paid it (so it's very difficult to appeal) are now chasing me for the money! Absolutely shocking! No obvious signs, the staff never mentioned a thing didn't ask for our registration number. So a £30 lunch just turned in to £130! I shall never, ever frequent the place again what an appalling way in which to treat your customers!"

"I had a fantastic meal that offered great value for both the quality and quantity of food served. The prices were very reasonable, especially when considering the various promotions advertised around the restaurant, which featured good offers available on different days. I will definitely return and highly recommend it to everyone! xx"

"Went there three times on a three day visit! It was THAT good! The full Scottish breakfast was great (had never heard of Lorna sausage before it was delicious! , as was the French toast with maple syrup and bacon. For main courses we had the seared tuna, the gambas, the chicken with chimichurri and the scallops with parmesan risotto and as a side we got the garlic bread with cheese. We also tried the Whisky Cranachan for dessert yummy! They were all amazing! I wholeheartedly recommend and will definitely be back the next time I'm on Islay!"

"I visited The Griffin Inn today with 8 of my family to celebrate my mother 's 96th birthday with lunch out. My sister and mother had visited the previous week and were served nice food in the bar area. However, the food today was awful. The batter on the fish and onion rings was flacid and undercooked, my husbands brunch was one overcooked sausage, one rasher of bacon, one half of raw tomato, two small hash browns, one hard fried egg and a lake of baked beans. With it were two slices of white sliced bread spread with, what was said to be butter, but was a pale magarine colour. My husband asked why it wasn 't toast and was told other.people prefer bread, with no offer to toast it. My sausage and mash was two re-cooked sausages which were poor quality on a bed of undercooked mash complete with lumps. The onion gravey was gloopy and a packet mix and had never seen an actual onion. Our friend chose the curry, rice and naan from the menu but was served a garlick naan, which she could not eat. The curry portion was also very small. The two burger meals were OK but the skin on fries needed further cooking. Two of our party were lucky.enough to order scampi with fat chips and had a good portion of simple food. All the food came out with delays so we didn 't eat together as a group. As it was such a special birthday I did not complain until my mum had left. I spoke to the waitress who apologised but made no offer to speak to a manager or to refund any monies. I asked to talk to the chef who had gone home. This was less than an hour after we had eaten. The after service was poor, but the food was a disgrace. I am left never wanting to visit again. As we exited we saw the sign for Fine Dining displayed, which was ironic. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"I had a lovely meal with my family, and everyone really enjoyed their dishes. I ordered the shoulder of lamb, which was exquisite. Although we had to wait for a bit, a coworker came over and inquired if we had visited since the reopening. They kindly guided us through the restaurant and explained the one-way system in place. The restaurant is very well organized, and we consistently appreciate the service we receive. Dining at Skyley House is always a delightful experience for us."

"We returned this year for dinner after having a lovely experience last year. We ordered a starter and main, the starter we both chose as the ‘New Forest Rosary Goats cheese’. This was advertised as being served with walnuts, apple and a honey dressing at a cost of £9. When it arrived it was simply a bowl full of lettuce leaves with a sprinkle of goats cheese and 5 slices of apple. We were both hugely disappointed as this was definitely not as advertised. We expressed our disappointment and returned the dishes. We explained that the description was misleading and that our expectation was of majority goats cheese with walnut apple and the dressing not 80% lettuce which was in fact not even mentioned. We had a nice main course, although our experience was now dampened but the height of our surprise was when the bill was presented with both starters still being charged for. We questioned this and the lady said she felt they shouldn’t be removed just because we didn’t like them! She completely missed the point and in the end reluctantly agreed to remove one. We paid to avoid further embarrassment (for them as an establishment) and left quietly, without tipping them and vowing never to return again. The moral of the story here is ‘should a bowl of lettuce comprise reputation and the retention of customers??’"

"We hadn't dined at this restaurant since COVID, but we returned with our family for Sunday lunch. The service and food were outstanding, with a great selection on the menu, generous portions, and reasonable prices. We were pleased to have found a new favorite spot to eat, especially after many local establishments have closed recently. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning."

"Hugely disappointed with Sun Dancer, we’re in Nairn for 3 nights visiting from Edinburgh, we booked two nights at the Sun dancer as we’d visited and enjoyed dinner last year. Tonight was so disappointing, it was dire. I had the fish and chips, it should have not left the kitchen, not sure what quality control the chef has in place but any decent chef would not send out a dish with chips under cooked and fish with batter that was soggy and bland! I’m not sure if the fish had been frozen and the chips certainly suggested they were frozen. When you are in a party of 4 you don’t want to spoil the atmosphere by complaining but I ate little and did mention to the waitress when the plates were taken, her response was oh they like to get feedback! Really! .. she should have removed it from the bill! My friends mother had lemon posset! It was awful, hard and not as a posset should be, we did complain about that and to be fair to them they removed from the bill. We left a gratuity as it’s not the waiting staff’s issue however, being so disappointed with the quality of food and responses from staff, I unfortunately would not like to go back!"

"We’ve visited a couple of times since the ‘massive re furb’ and can’t recommend it highly enough. For those of you that may have visited previously, and maybe, like us, were not overly enamoured with the food you’ve got to return. A huge improvement. It’s like walking into an entirely different pub. We went on the opening weekend, I had the T bone steak and it was worth every penny. So much som that we returned for my birthday. Great location, with great views and dog friendly. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we’ll definitely be back."

"The menu caught my attention, so I decided to try this place with the new owners. The atmosphere is delightful, the staff is friendly, and the presentation of the dishes is impressive. I did find the service a bit slow, especially considering it wasn't very busy, but if you’re part of a chatty group that enjoys taking their time, it might not be an issue. The Sea Bream Ceviche could have been a bit lighter, as it tasted a bit too much like olive oil, in my opinion. I highly recommend the roasted cod—it brought back memories of dining at Nobu. And all the desserts are simply perfect! Just looking at the photos makes me want to have them all over again!"

"I pre booked a table and when we arrived the lady was very pleasant and welcoming, we ordered drinks and were taken to our table. The pub was very cosy and warm. We ordered food and it arrived not long after, the food was presented lovely and the portions were large, the battered haddock hung of the plate, the mushroom risotto was very tasty and I had perfect poached egg perched on top of 2 thick pieces of smoked haddock. Atmosphere and service was perfect, thank you"

"we arrived yesterday on 18th October 2017 with the family 7ppl without booking to the white eagle, we were greeted by a beautiful dame that made the place for us and we ordered our drinks and eat. when our food began to come out there was a stream cut, but came back, then it went off completely while we eat. the dame and a man came by and were very apologetic, but it was made for a past, but it never disturbed us how it was easy. eating was amazing and so are the employees. keep them the good work."

"My family and I have frequented the FBI restaurant many times over the years, and we have never had a disappointing meal. Tonight, we enjoyed our meal outside with our dog and had a wonderful experience."
"Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted at the bar, where we found a good selection of affordable drinks. While waiting for the rest of our group, we were seated quickly. Our server, Kim, was friendly and attentive, making sure we received our food promptly and enjoyed our meal. This was my first visit to Boreham, and I definitely plan to return. The wait for our meals was short, and Kim even accommodated our request to split the bill, allowing some of us to pay in cash and others by card. The food was excellent, and I can't find any faults—I'd highly recommend dining here. I noticed there weren't any children around, which made the atmosphere feel more suited to adults and couples rather than families, which was a nice bonus. If you're a Blue Light Card holder, there's an additional 20% off food, although we only found out about this at the end of our meal. Our group of six enjoyed a meal with dessert for a total of £109, which was even more affordable given the discounted drinks. The bill before the discount was £129. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!"

"The food at this restaurant is outstanding, with a lovely atmosphere and attentive staff who go above and beyond for you. The restaurant is also very clean. I highly recommend dining here, especially for dinner. The price per person is between £30-40. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive top ratings of 5. Some recommended dishes include the Chocolate Cake and Chips."
