"Avoid this place! Spent £40 on an order tonight and it's near enough all went in the bin. I don't understand how you can mess up chips, cheese and gravy but even that was vile! Photos attached are meant to be a large Donner kebab, I can literally count the pieces of Donner on one hand and the pitta bread was stale. £5 on a portion of nachos that are just poorly made with stale tortillas, yet again how can you mess up nachos?! Will never be back. Save your money!!!! Absolute waste of my money.."

"in the center of the medieval canterbury is an old and tasty restaurant, named for the famous Trapiste, which serves typical Belgian foods (although we are in england). this place is a cross between a bar, a tea room and a restaurant. besides a large selection of beers, they enjoy delicious dishes such as the exceptional burgers that are served with homemade brot, or the special tee with cream. the restaurant has a rustic feel, and each chair is another style. the terrace is magnificent, and there is even a pavillon, decorated with tiny lights that they feel like surrounded by stars in the midst of this beautiful medieval building. on the ground floor they find a piano with a sign that invites guests to entertain the audience with their musical talents. excellent service, with waiterven are always friendly and helpful."

"Perched canal-side in Little Venice, the restaurant has a casual but chic nautical theme with a really family-friendly vibe. During the Saturday lunch service, the restaurant was buzzing, full of families and friends happily gathering for a bite to eat. Our little group were treated to three courses of fairly classic dishes, simple in flavour and generous in size. I loved the beetroot cured salmon, was a little defeated by the enormous chicken salad, and grinned ear to ear at the arrival of my knickerbocker glory! The service was accommodating and familial, which is exactly what you expect from a good neighbourhood restaurant; I got the sense that the diners in there had been eating at The Summerhouse for some time and would continue that tradition for some time to come."

"On this occasion, a mixed experience. Met friends at 5pm for drinks. Table already booked for 8pm to dine. Bar busy, tables full of dirty glasses. We were invited to share a long table with another party. I made two trips to the bar with about sixteen empty glasses to make space for new drinks. Great to see the place so busy as it's our only local. My husband and his mates are regulars every Friday night, often on other days too. Unfortunately on this particular visit there was no draught beer or cold white wine. The reason for no hand-pulled beer was “The manager is cleaning the lines”. Yes really!!! Tea-time on December 29th whilst the pub and restaurant were heaving… It gets better!!! “The manager was still cleaning the lines over one hour later”. My husband and his friends drank Guinness, not their drink of choice but they are forgiving chaps. Apparently Howard who had arrived before us ordered a pint of cask beer and when he expressed his dismay at the timing of the line-cleaning was told, “if you don’t like it you can go somewhere else”. When I found my Chardonnay to be quite warm, I went to the bar and asked the barman if there was any “cold” white wine, he mauled my glass and said “it’s been in the fridge”, I replied “but it’s not cold”, he offered to put some ice in it. I didn’t want ice in my wine, it’s supposed to be served nicely chilled without the need for ice to water it down. To my surprise the barman offered to sell me a whole bottle of wine (presumably with a bucket of ice). I opted for ice and a dash of soda in my warm wine. Thinking ahead I asked if there were any other bottles of Chardonnay in the fridge so that I might have a glass of my favourite wine with a meal later on. The barman could offer no assurance, to be fair he seemed a little out of his depth, some further training will resolve this in the future. I attempted to discuss my experience with Johnny the restaurant manager when he came to our table later in the evening, he was uninterested, unapologetic and simply said, “We’ve been busy”. The food was ok, not fine dining but enjoyable and served to a good standard as we’ve come to expect from the Broughton Inn. I still feel disappointed by the shoddy attitude of certain staff members that evening. In the absence of an alternative within walking distance from our homes we will continue to spend our money there but with less enthusiasm than before. My current opinion of the management remains low."

"Came here on Saturday for the first time with a reservation for four. Ambience was nice, a typical English pub really. Unfortunately we waited for nearly 15 minutes to be seated as there were only two front of house workers, both very busy taking orders and making teas and coffee, for a busy Saturday afternoon two front of house workers did not seem enough. The food took over an hour to arrive, which is very poor. The fish and chips initially came out without tartare sauce and we had to ask. All of this somewhat redeemed by the food being very good. Waitress (Holly I believe) was good too. All in all, a bit of a mixed bag but would try again, although I would expect far improved turnaround times on food."

"Normally love going here but today wasn’t good. Long wait between courses and when the mains came they were clay cold and had to be sent back. Replaced without quibble but had clearly been standing waiting to be brought out. Replacements were better but still not the hottest. If they had been on warm plates it would have helped to preserve their heat. Clearly busy as always but expect better from this usually lovely place."

"Receptionist Couldn’t fine our Open Table booking, but they had plenty of tables available so not a problem, but might have been had they been busy. We chose the Sunday roast beef. Cabbage was a little on the cool side. Beef was quite fatty and fairly tough, considering that it was 28 day aged. Roast potatoes were very good, as were the parsnips and carrots Soft drinks expensive small lemonade and lime £2.45) Overall value fair."

"I encountered an issue when they couldn't find my reservation from OpenTable, but thankfully I had a printed copy of the confirmation with me. They did manage to seat us, so I recommend booking directly. It took an hour from our arrival to placing our order. The food was excellent, but the service was quite slow when the restaurant was busy. On the positive side, the staff was very polite and friendly. It's a nice place to enjoy a quiet meal."

"What a difference a couple of days can make! The food was just as delicious as during our first visit, but the service was a different story. It's been a long time since we've encountered such a long list of service issues, from the moment we arrived right through to the difficulties we faced when it came time to pay the bill—it was truly appalling. Our friends even wondered why we had chosen Balloch House for this dining experience, despite the high quality of the food."

"I love Tuttons, and have been there many times. The problem that we find is that if it's just the 2 of us, they always put you on a table that's so squeezed, in that you might as well join the next table, or in our case as table that was on a pathway between the kitchen and the stairs to the toilets. Very frustrating as this always makes us think twice before going there as a couple. We spoke to the manager and were moved, I'm not going to say reluctantly, but it was only after we said, it's ok we will go somewhere else, that we were moved. It was not just us, the couple who where put on the same table that we had vacated, asked to move, but were not so lucky. The food and the service, as always, were excellent. They maybe need to have a re think about table positions when you are a smaller party."

"The Broughton Inn is a pleasant chain owned pub with traditional wood beam interior the type you would expect in a rural historic building that is over 150 years old. We visited for a pre Mothers Day meal with my parents and as they are in their eighties it was good to see that access was easy for them. One thing that they commented on was that parking was difficult as there were a lot of commercial vans taking up car parking space and they struggled to find somewhere to park. The food was very good and certainly good value for money. The waitress that served us was pleasant and attentive. The only criticism that we all agreed on was that the ambient music was a bit too loud. I am sure it didn't bother the other guests but for us it made conversational a little difficult as my parents are both a bit hard of hearing. That apart I would certainly recommend giving the Broughton Inn a visit."

"one of my favorite places! I experimented with so many options on their menu and has not been disappointed so far. especially their appetizers are my absolute favorite. their dough balls are soft and freshly prepared and served with garlic butter and chili oil. her calamari is delicious, crispy and not the smallest bit of fat coming to netzen, the mushroom risotto is beautiful, it tastes perfect with Parmesan cheese and has just the right level of taste."

"peter morrell enjoys eating the atmosphere and of course the beer in this very popular south london micro brewery. cajun king prawns. PausePlayPlayPrev|Next. I have often written about the excellent culinary scene in south london and especially blackheath village. one of the best restaurants in the village is zerodegrees, which is also a bar and a micro brewery. the restaurant is very well laid with its terrace and a window overlooking the heath."

"Despite arriving 30 minutes early, we were seated immediately, and our drinks came out very quickly. I was impressed by the variety on the Sunday menu. We each ordered different roast dishes, and they were all outstanding. I tried the triple platter featuring beef, pork, and turkey. The vegetables were excellent too—at least three varieties among our group of five! The dessert selection was fantastic; I could have chosen at least three options. I ended up going with the apple and rhubarb crumble accompanied by hot custard to round off my meal. It was great value too, coming in at around £28 per person, which included two pints. And let's not forget the friendly and attentive staff!"

"Brilliant food and a lovely small restaurant with a nice atmosphere. We both had the chargrilled asparagus and artichoke salad from the special board, it was outstanding. For mains we both had pizza, I had the ham and mushroom and my Mrs had a plant based one. Absolutely delicious obviously top quality ingredients. I finished off with tiramisu which was really good. The staff were all fantastic which was the icing on the cake. Thank you Well worth a visit."

"I made a reservation through Opentable, but when we arrived, there was no record of it. They informed us that they don't work with Opentable. Fortunately, we didn’t have any trouble getting a table. All four of us ordered the three-meat meal, which was supposed to include beef, turkey, and pork. We received beef that was tough and filled with gristle (our dog enjoyed it when we got home), turkey, and gammon instead of pork. The meal was lukewarm, and the Yorkshire pudding was overcooked. The dessert was decent, especially the apple pie with custard served as a mini dessert alongside coffee. However, my friends ordered the Banoffee pie, and were disappointed by the very small portion they received."

"Every time I dine at The Black Horse, it is consistently a delightful experience. The interior design is charming, and the staff members are exceptionally welcoming and kind. The menu always offers a delicious selection to choose from. In fact, my friend and I were discussing during our meal that we have never had anything to complain about in all the times we have eaten here. The team at The Black Horse truly deserve recognition for their hard work. Thank you, Tracy Palmer."

"I'm really disappointed. I had made a reservation for four people this evening through OpenTable and received a reminder email yesterday, to which I confirmed my attendance. When I arrived tonight, the restaurant was closed for renovations. It was quite embarrassing, especially since I had recommended this place to my guests. I also left a message on the restaurant's phone, but received no response."
