"Had lunch with group of 10 work colleagues . 2 of us entered by a Rose St entrance, I entered by main hotel door from Charlotte Square after passing it twice and 2 others had to text us as they couldn 't find the entrance! So...this eatery called The Garden is actual inside a hotel called the Kimpton but this info is not published anywhere! It would be handy to know this when one is booking! Not a huge selection of meals on offer, very very basic. I paid over £12 for a 'large ' salad which was basically 4 bits of chopped up pear (brick hard) a few strands of prosciutto, couple of leaves, tiny drizzle of balsamic and a huge dollop of buffalo mozzarella cheese in the middle . It was filling thanks to the size of the cheese but pretty tasteless. Cocktail menu was better, I had a Bakewell Sour cocktail (which was yum) instead of a sweet and a lavender lemonade soft drink with my meal which was divine. My contribution to the whole meal including a tip was £27 but I don 't really think it was worth it unfortunately. The staff were all lovely though."

"I really didn’t want to write this because it’s Christmas and everyone is tired and on empty but…. I booked Cotes as I was sent an email with a link to book for my birthday and 1 glass per party of complimentary fizz would be provided . The service was ok .. server lacked any knowledge or charisma but sweet . The service was a bit slow . We were never asked if we wanted another drink we had to keep asking …my husband told the waitress that it was my 40th and if they had anything special she could do …. I over heard him but she replied Ah no maybe next time . Bill was 181 .00 for 4 which I felt wasn’t worth it . I hate giving bad feedback but I just felt the manager needed to know .. perhaps it was skeleton staff .. ."

"I was pleasantly surprised to find a great spot for brunch on a quiet Sunday morning in a neighborhood that isn't typically bustling with weekend restaurant or pub options. The menu even offers gluten-free choices, making it a welcome find for those with dietary restrictions."

"We celebrated my mother's 89th birthday with afternoon tea. The room was beautiful, and the seating was very comfortable. We savored delicious scones with jam and clotted cream, and the selection of freshly brewed loose leaf tea was outstanding. The service was impeccable, with great attention to detail. One of the waiters even brought a small cake to the table so that I could light a candle fountain for my mother. It was truly an unforgettable experience."

"The food was delicious, but the service was disappointing. We had to request menus and drinks, and were not offered dessert menus or refills until we asked for the bill. We waited 50 minutes before our meals were served, possibly due to unexpected high customer traffic. It's a pity, as the restaurant is only 3 minutes from home and we could have become regulars, but I will have to reconsider before booking again."

"imagine if they want to, a ancient secular fishing village down in the direction of the mouth of the river thames, which once testifies to a time the Roman poor, who directed his way upwards to lick the city of londinium. that is leigh at the sea, or old leigh, as it is known to the locals. the piece leigh, which was not transformed into a pose paradise of cafe/bars, ladies, eating and illegally parked expensive cars with equally expensive vanity. old leigh is just that old. it has been for hundreds of years to catch and serve in small tile skins. Of course, this has been hand in hand with a series of fine (and just as old) pubs, which have been cared for the soul man for an equally long time. to the peter boat. in its current incarnation, it is one of the newer pubs in old leigh and offers for two different masses: older regular (mostly of the year) and younger trinker (each the sun vague in view from mai to september and over christmas). the pub itself is certainly nothing special standard dishes, standard foods and manages to blur a price increase apparently based on the temperature. the service is always incredibly slow when the bar is busy (each of these sunny days) and the staff in the summer are the next students willing to work for minimum wage regardless of experience or ability. the winter is however a completely different fish boiler, but it is not really winter that makes the peter boat worth a train trip from london. in hot days, this pub comes alive. it generates huge amounts in nothing better than a parking lot full of picnic tables with a portakabin flew seafood in the corner. on one side there is the sea wall and the fishing boats with a view of the mouth canal (muddy sea bed, looking at the flood and coming out and kent far away from a clear day). what makes it special is the pure ingenuity, eccentricity and mix of people who drink in the sun. it is really a melting pot of the Essex people and I apologise to everyone to go there without running into at least one person they know. old leigh is one of my favorite places in my hometown and there are not many! I am not going enough there and I am critical of the overall Southend area. there are places like the peter boat and those who go there for year more that remind me why I loved it when I grew up. if they dare in this direction, they owe a visit....and are not deducted from the brights angels, essex young and girls or seafood they need to meet. it is never really a place, decorations, music or products that cneipen or bars make it the people. so they meet them; all character with their strata and all the long, sunny days of summer to tell them."

"Not sure we just went on a free day, but absolutely one of the worse culinary experiences I probably had. The menu was completely different from the one online and I don't even know where to start serving staff that was incredibly unhelpful, my chicken wasn't even edible black on the outside and dry inside that had to be sent back"

"First time eating here. Sat outside overlooking the bay. Beautiful views. Food was very nice. We had 2 courses for £15. My boyfriend and dad had fish of the day which was cod. Batter looked hot and crispy and not greasy. My minute steak and fries was really nice with my mam having chicken in sauce. The Gruyerre souffle for starters with beetroot puree and fennel was beautiful. Would eat here again"

"My partner and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening for a romantic dinner and had a delightful experience. The service was top-notch, with our food and drinks being served promptly and with great attention to detail. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, especially the seating arrangement around the tree in the center. The food was of good quality and the menu offered a diverse selection. However, out of the four dishes we ordered, we found that they were a bit underseasoned, which was slightly disappointing considering the exceptional service we received. Overall, it was still a pleasant visit."

"great atmosphere, attentive staff and the mushroom pate was super the waiter at the end of the meal spilts coffee after me, which was a mistake obvious, but meant that I spent the afternoon soggy. the restaurant paid for a hemd replacement and took money from bill without protest updated by previous review on 2021-11-21"

"I love Cote and have visited many branches, but the only negative thing I have to say about this particular branch is that the staff could be more attentive. We had to keep asking for water and cutlery."

"Loved our meal here excellent quality food and service. I've got coeliac disease and the staff were knowledgeable about cross contamination etc, and a treat to have homemade gluten free bread. Highly recommend this place, a hidden gem in Leith"

"I only dined here and didn't stay overnight. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the food arrived quickly. However, considering the price range of £20-25 for a main course, I found the style and quality of the food lacking. My trout was served in a bowl of cream, which was overly rich for the fish. Overall, I would rate the service a 5 and the location a 5."
"During our four days exploring around Tower Bridge and St. Katharine's, we tried many restaurants but this one was the best! They offered delicious crepes, salads, and a selection of lamb and beef dishes."
