"We wanted to get some North Indian food on our Scotland trip after a long day, and luckily, Sam's was open until later. As vegetarians, we were told that it was mainly a non vegetarian place but we could get a few veggie options. We opted out of getting any fried starters as we were told that they were fried in the same oil along with meat. We went straight for the mains: Butter Tandoori Roti, Butter Chapati, Kadai Mix Vegetable, Saag Paneer and Dal Tadka with a side salad of onion/lemon/chilies. The food was really well made and we enjoyed it and would recommend. However, the only thing that could be better was the service we did not feel welcome. We did not receive a smile or any greetings throughout the experience. The staff was polite but curt and lacked the warmth and hospitality that one would appreciate when dining in. Not a single waiter from the many once came by to ask how we were doing and whether we needed anything or to even inform us that the kitchen was closing and we should place any last orders we may have. However, I think this may just be towards certain groups of people because I saw them smile at and check in on local looking folks. Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian options"

"Located in a hidden corner of Saltcoats in Ayrshire, this restaurant may not catch your eye from the outside, but the interior is clean and welcoming. "I am here at the slim party with my children personally think that the slim ladies need more personal, as there are many children, but only a few of them, but the staff here serve are great really friendly help full, meet and greet everyone who in and nothing seems much angry for them. I would really recommend this place based on the friendly staff, but I did not try to eat personally, but everyone here seems to enjoy it and it looks all very beautiful and well presented. this is a great idea when the children had more employees with them to have the superb something to eat, but they didn't have to do so much of the superb and help our children are a little older and we have made slim to house before we just continue to check them were in order and had everything they needed. I would like to add that my children had chicken and chips there. the chicken was freshly baked as I would do to house and the chips was nice and cooked in clean oil as I had a few of them, I can comment that for me the venue and the event staff made it a nice day, but the ladies who needed to run the slime 1 or 2 more staff and they sort them themselves better, but if I did 5 minutes before and did not go park. then she asked my wife if the children were ready as if they were going to the kitchen and checking. not enough time spent with the children, but with all that said they were going over by 30 minutes, but I think this is due to organization."

"Reposting this review as I believe both restaurants were involved/at fault. Also left on river grill downstairs. Never have I had such a rude and unprofessional interaction with a waiter. After a long 12 tour in the Highlands we were looking for a quick bite to eat before going home for the night. We walked around the city and were turned away by a couple places because they had no room unless you had a reservation. We walked into River Grill as it looked like a simple restaurant and grill as their sign said with a basic non-fancy menu. The host took us out of the building and upstairs to a more fancy dining area but said don 't worry it 's the same restaurant/food. After a long day all we wanted was soup and salad, not a heavy meal. We tried to order that and the waiter said you 're only eating side dishes? That 's not good enough for us . Apparently you have to spend at least 15 pounds. The way he said it was probably the worst part. He was very loud and kind of made a scene. Unsure how to react to this we said we can order something different. I ordered a glass of wine so mine was 15 pounds. My friend had to order another dish. Spoiler alert, the soup wasn 't even good. The food and service was 1000x better the previous night at 27 across from the castle. After leaving the restaurant it looks like we were actually in the Indian restaurant upstairs. Maybe they are owned by the same person?? Not sure, either way this situation is unacceptable."

"Despite passing by several other eateries on my way home, I decided to give Harry's another chance since it is my local spot. I wanted to offer some friendly feedback, so I made sure none of the dishes contained pork and mentioned that the sausage did not suit my taste. However, Harry appeared offended and unhelpful. As I observed him handling my order, I became convinced that he tampered with my food while preparing it in the kitchen. Furthermore, his colleagues seemed to be taunting me and making fun of the situation. When I questioned Harry about this, he became rude and dismissed my concerns as nonsense. He even refused to give me a refund, leaving me feeling outraged. The overall cleanliness of the establishment was lacking, and the staff's appearance was unprofessional. In conclusion, my experience at Harry's was disappointing and frustrating. I would not recommend dining there again."

"I would not give any stars. We placed our food order at 7:30pm. The order was confirmed and an estimated time was given. However, after waiting for over an hour and a half, our order was cancelled without any communication from the restaurant. This was going to be our first time ordering from here, but it will definitely be our last. The service was shocking. Delivery was the meal type, and the price per person was between £1-10."

"I don't usually write reviews, but the service at this restaurant was exceptional! I placed my order and received my food within 30 minutes, even though I live at least a 10-minute drive away. "Was staying in Portsmouth for a few days. Went to Purple mango Indian restaurant. Arrived a little early but that did not matter.Was shown to r table which was clean. Had a nice bottle of wine. Which was nice chilled. Good poppadoms a great selection of dips. For are starters we had mussels in lemon garlic also meat samosas they came lovely hot. For are mains we had king prawn masala ,garlic naan, sag aloo, chicken tikka masala, all very good lovely hot also had water at the table. Nice chilled. Had dessert chocolate mousse , strawberry dessert .very nice .to round of the evening coffee .very nice. Also Baileys on the house. Nice touch. Big shout out to are waiter Ali nothing to much trouble for him .All the waiting staff are very well dressed clean tidy.The restaurant is a lovely setting. Nice for couples or big groups of people.The owner Raji is lovely asked if are food was ok. At the end of the night he even called us a taxi back to are hotel. Which was very good him .would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in Portsmouth area. Lovely clean restaurant . Lovely friendly waiting staff. Food amazing.best Indian in town. Raji should be very proud of his team in Purple mango they all was working very hard Friday night."
