"Last night was seriously disappointing at Lucia’s Beverley. We’d booked a table for 8 to celebrate 3 birthdays and were looking forward to some great food, atmosphere and company among friends in a vibrant restaurant on a Saturday night. We got seated in a cosy area of the indoor part and began to enjoy our night. After eating our mains we were approached by a bouncer/door man, who came over to our table and told to to keep our voices down!!! Bearing in mind we were a party of 8, it was a Saturday night in what’s know as a vibrant lively restaurant in the centre of town and we weren’t shouting or using bad language. This absolutely RUINED our night. Who wants to be told this while having a good night eating dinner among friends? After spending a fair amount of money on bottles of Prosecco, other drinks, starters and very average tasting mains we were made to feel like naughty school kids in the corner (despite us all being in our 40s). We have never felt so offended! The comment from a bouncer (not even a friendly waitress), was absolutely uncalled for. There was an older couple on a table next to us (who we can only assume we’re the ones who complained about our high spirits) to warrant this over the top and completely unnecessary telling off. We had planned on staying in Lucia’s for more drinks and desserts but quickly vacated to another venue after the lucia fun police showed up. A shame for the restaurant in times of economic hardship as the table wouldn’t have been filled after we left since it was around 9.30pm. Given the food was disappointing too, we have all decided we won’t be back to this restaurant any time soon."

"The staff were friendly on arrival and drinks/ breakfasts arrived quickly. Food was lovely although offering a children's breakfast would be good as works out expensive as you can't substitute items you have to pay for extra items added. £56.05 for 1 mega breakfast, 3 standard and 4 drinks. When coming to pay by card the lady asked for a gratuity payment which really put me on the spot as being a family and paying that amount for food and with the cost of living I really felt like I couldn't say no to her as she just stood there, any other place I've visited I have always been handed a card machine which you can quietly press yes or no to an extra gratuity payment."

"This place is an absolute diamond and well worth a visit. The staff (Annie and the other super young lady) were required to help me out after an unfortunate incident involving myself and some medical incident that befell me in the restaurant. Annie took care of me and called an ambulance and the other young lady went to get the local defibrillator in the pouring rain for me at Annie's behest. Luckily the defib wasn't required but the gash on my head required direct pressure for over an hour, something that Annie did perfectly until I could get to hospital. The food and service are second to none make sure this place is on your itinerary when you visit Great Yarmouth"

"I went to this cafe for the first time today was rather surprised at their attitude. The food was well prepared the service was efficient polite there were plenty of other customers eating but when I asked for a coffee I was told that there was no milk. As this establishment is a cafe customers will expect milk with their teas coffees this shows that management do not put themselves out for their paying customers so I won't be returning on a regular basis. They took their 10% anyway. I regularly eat out when other cafes run out of milk they go to the shops buy more which makes the paying customer valued but obviously this is not so with this cafe. I have given a 5 star rating so that management can read this hopefully change their attitude."

"We dined at this restaurant last year and were very impressed with both the food and service. Because we had such a great experience, we decided to book a table again today to celebrate a birthday. My father-in-law has high standards, but he couldn't find anything wrong with the food, although he mentioned that the portions might be a bit large. Regardless, he and the rest of us really enjoyed our meals. As someone who is intolerant to garlic, I was pleased that the chef prepared a fresh sauce for the stuffed chicken I ordered. It was delicious, and I had no issues after eating, which was reassuring. A big thank you to all the staff for providing a lovely evening and meal. We definitely plan to return soon. Thanks again!"

"An absolute gem of a place, from the welcome when arriving, lovely lovely staff, to the food, Boutique hotel feel in the rooms to the local friendly feeling pub. A bonus staying on a Thursday night is the pub quiz! Gorgeous village to wander around too with the river on the doorstep. Rooms: Room was really luxurious and excellent value for money. Touches like the fresh milk and orange juice and high quality coffer and tea make a difference as well as tasteful decor and high quality bed Nearby activities: Definitely good for a mooch around the village and look at the river ribble. Lovely place. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury"

"After taking a stroll on the beach, we decided to stop for a quick sherbet. There was a great selection of local ales, and the service was very friendly. The restaurant is dog-friendly, which was a nice touch. We were warmly welcomed by both the staff and fellow patrons. We enjoyed some nachos in the beer garden while soaking up the evening sun. The atmosphere was fantastic, and we had a wonderful time."
"shortly after the opening on Thursday evening. the pub is picturesque and in a beautiful location. we were greeted by a cheerful bubbly dame, who even the dog feel welcome by stanley a different fluffy visitor. the drinks were served immediately and the menu is perverse. a sirloin steak and two grilled trout were ordered. the portions were very generous and the fish was very delicious. no place for desserts. the service was great, couldn't owe anything. the dog even has a bowl of water and cookies what they want more."

"We were the first customers in the restaurant this morning and were greeted very warmly. It quickly became busy, which is always a positive sign. We opted for toasties for lunch and they were absolutely delicious and served hot. The drinks were also good. The staff were all friendly and the restaurant was immaculately clean. The bathrooms were also exceptionally clean. This restaurant is a great place to stop for those exploring the New Forest. It is located in a charming village and we definitely plan on returning."

"Avoid this place! Although it’s advertised as a dog-friendly pub, it really isn’t. We arrived at 7:30 PM with our two dogs, hoping to get some food before the 8:30 PM closing time listed for meals, but were rudely informed by the bar staff that dogs were not allowed inside. We were told we would need to go outside with our drinks. To make matters worse, the bar lady told us that the kitchen had already closed for the night. The owner was just as unhelpful. If you have dogs and want to enjoy a meal in the evening, steer clear of this pub! Service rating: 1 star."

"One of the best meals I've had in recent memory. The moules marinerre had me scraping the bowl for the last of the broth/sauce, both it and the bisque were so warming and comforting with the bread making a perfectly buttery accompaniment for dipping/mopping. Ideal for a cold winters evening. The skate in lobster butter for main was unbelievable, the skate was as moist and delicate as the sauce was decadent (not to mention it being a very generous portion). Even the desserts were delicious, in particular the sorbet which was lovely and refreshing after such a hearty starter and main. These are the meals you dream of when going to a seaside town. Everything was cooked to perfection, lovely staff and ambience. I can't praise this place enough."

"Spotless cafe environment overlooking Bembridge harbour, which has expanded it's eating area inside since I last visited. Food has consistently been excellent on several visits over the past few years, and I recommend anyone to give it a visit. The crab salad is divine. I've read some comments about service quality, but found it to be prompt and consistent with other cafes I've visited. If you want swanky, then go to a restaurant but be prepared to pay 50% more for the same thing."

"We drive 30 minutes for the fish and chips here after hearing about all the hoopla. We really lucked out and there was no wait to be seated. Granted we were here in the off season. Everything was very good. Loved that they had indoor seating. For a small fee you could choose homemade tartar sauce instead of bottled. Do it ! It was very good. Also , you got a coffee, tea or cocoa included with your meal . The cocoa was a disappointment. Made with water , it tasted blah. Not worth drinking at all. Overall , we have had equally good fish and chips in St Andrew's and also at a pub in Skye. True , not all fish and chips in Scotland measure up , and these were good but not so uniquely good that you'd need to go out of your way to get here. However if you're in the area this is a good choice to fill your fish and chip cravings !"

"Wasn’t sure what to expect, it was a last minute booking on Father’s Day and they had a vacancy for five and a dog! Tables outside with a gazebo and a singer setting up, but we’d elected an inside table as there was a chance of rain. Directed to our table which had a reserved sign. Table layout was spacious, distance between tables was good most venues seem to cram the tables in to maximise profit. Roast diners of lamb, beef or turkey with roast pots and seasonal veg, there were about 10 12 other main courses covering pies, fish, salad and lasagna etch plus a selection of children’s meals. You go to the bar to order your food and drinks. I opted for the steak and ale pie, chips and peas, it said there was optional seasonal veg but they sent that out anyway. Daughter had half roast chicken and others the roast Turkey. The pie was a large portion, pastry thin and the meat plentiful and full of flavour, best I’ve had in ages, the chips large and crispy and the peas were …..peas. All in all a great plate of food. Equally the other meals were generous potions, Turkey and roast potatoes almost filled the plate. The veg was well cooked, not over done and consisted of carrots, cauliflower and cabbage. More than we needed. All meals arrived together and hot, waitresses (2) were good, offered condiments and returned 10 mins later to check everything was ok. Plates cleared but not rushed to leave, declined desserts as we were too full. The bill came to £61.00 for five meals (not including drinks) when I enquired about the service charge, the owner told me it’s not included and declined to take it and politely asked me to pay our waitress direct. Must be a good place to work to have such an honest boss. Would we go back, definitely, would we recommend it, yes but don’t all book at once or we may find it harder to get a table!"

"Quick, diligent service. Vegetable and potato salad was great, not too filling but enough to whet the appetite. Made space for the duck confit, which was crispy and juicy with a superb gravy and relish to boot. Finished things off with a traditional bubble fruit cake, which was also incredible. Not to mention the cocktails, which were delicious and quite strong, even on the happy hour! Top marks across the board everyone, will absolutely come again. Ďakujem veľmi pekne!"

"Firstly this is not something that I would normally do, but was just so incredibly disappointed by our experience tonight 27/10/23. Took mum for a birthday meal(85), she loves it here, but the restaurant was absolutely freezing. If we wouldn't have had our outdoor coats in the car, there would have no way we could have stayed with mum. All the customers were complaining how cold it was with the poor waitress having to constantly apologise. One couple had managed to requisition a small heater from somewhere and had it plugged in near their table. The food was lovely, as always, but very quickly became cold before we could finish it. I felt so sorry for my mum, as she kept apologising for asking to go there,. As i say, food was good but evening just ruined by lack of heating."

"Before our arrival, we called ahead to reserve a table for Friday evening as we had heard it can get busy and booking in advance was recommended. We made a reservation for 5pm. We had checked the menus online beforehand but were having trouble finding information about the opening hours, which was frustrating as we needed to plan around our children's feeding schedule. Upon arriving at our lodge at 4pm, we searched for information inside about the tearooms and how to get there as we were located on the opposite side. We couldn't find any visible site maps and were pressed for time as our table was booked. Luckily, we encountered a staff member who informed us that it was only a half-mile walk and advised us to call ahead if we might be running late. Upon reaching the tearooms, we were the only patrons there. Even when we left, there were only a few other guests. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We visited again on Saturday evening and once again found it to be quiet. Despite it being a lovely summer evening, there were no other guests around. It's a shame that guests may not be aware of this wonderful place. The Saturday menu only offered two choices: a meat platter or a meat and cheese platter, which wasn't ideal for children. However, the chef kindly accommodated our kids with plain white bread and child-friendly ham. Overall, we highly recommend it as a place to enjoy a drink, relax, and then take a leisurely stroll back to your lodge."
"John your pub used to be fantastic , the bar appears still to be but the restaurant supervisor was just rude and unwelcoming with two young children she refused a table for a high chair expecting a two year old to sit at the back right high table, we was told the low tables where reserved for wheelchair users (all three of them) we explained we booked a high chair and was told very abruptly that no the system booked the table and can’t be changed , having moved tables before that’s nonsense and then told to wait until another table waited 15 minutes two two hungry young children and not called , again went in was rudely spoken too and heard the supervisor say to a table leaving ‘don’t rush’ , no second drinks order like the tables around us no dessert requests , no asking how the meal was like the table around us You went to a great school in Manchester from memory and have great manners not sure what happened to your supervisor today Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 1"
