"Compared with many other reviews of this Coffee Shop we must have been unlucky. Although it is many months since visiting, our visit does stick in our memory. We were looking for somewhere for a lunchtime snack and this Coffee Shop appeared to be the only option. The staff were outside and there were no other customers. The inside of the cafe was very basic. One of our party required dairy free items. Coffee with dairy free milk was available, but dairy free food snacks were very limited, and the assessment of what was dairy free was unfortunately not very convincing. Nevertheless we purchased some snacks and sat inside, whilst the staff continued their conversation outside. Overall an experience that is remembered for the wrong reasons."

I just enjoyed a delicious lunch at this restaurant. The toastie was delightful, adorned with fresh fruit and crisps for added flavor.

Delicious crab salad and scallops fresh from the sea. Friendly service and generally great experience. BYOB from the coop up the road if you fancy a little something extra

I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff, Sandra and Elaine, were delightful and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience. The late breakfast I enjoyed on a sunny morning outdoors was well-cooked and truly wonderful.

Nice place and friendly staff food was nicely presented and very tasty I think the name coffee shop doesn't reflect the wider menu on offer so definately consider this one for good food whether its the best bacon roll I have ever had or a nice salad

Friendly relaxed lunch spot. Tasty sandwiches, lovely fresh side salads and crisps! We had prawn sandwiches on granary bread both delicious. Other meals looked very fresh with good potions too. Also dog friendly! They do crab and lobster when catch available!

After reading the positive reviews, we decided to dine at this restaurant. However, we were taken aback by the lack of cleanliness in the establishment. Despite the fresh and well-cooked fish, it was hard to overlook the unhygienic conditions and somewhat reluctant service. We had high expectations for our lunch based on the reviews, but ultimately left feeling disappointed.

Visited Friday night (open everyday for breakfast and lunch but only Friday and Saturday evening) and had the best meal of our holiday. Quirky decor and absolutely EVERYTHING made from scratch. Beautiful scallops with roe, fresh handcut chips and a salad with loads of fresh fruit which really complimented the dish. Prices are almost too cheap but the owners catch their own fish and seafood and this is obviously why the prices are so low. We were made super welcome and the doggies were allowed inside too which was a huge bonus. Please visit this gem, its outstanding and can't wait to return next year. Its unlicensed so we took our own prosecco and wasn't even charged corkage. Thanks so much M...

"My wife found this when looking for a place for us to spend our wedding anniversary. It sounded good on paper. It was a long and tedious drive for us though and I wasn’t sure it was worth it. I was totally wrong! This place is superb and well worth any drive! The setting is great-it has its own beach and there is a small patio where you can sit and there is a heater there too if you need it. There’s a nice lawn in front of the hotel too where those with dogs took them for a walk. The rooms are all different and all well appointed with their own en suite. The costs of the rooms reflects the size of the room and not the facilities. If you are tall like me (6ft 2) I wouldn’t go for one of the rooms in the roof as the coomb ceiling is a pain. However the thing you go there for is the food and that is sublime! It is a set menu in the evening which reduces waste and helps control costs. You get 7 courses, all quite small , but at the end of the meal you are adequately fed but not full. We were there for 3 nights and had a different meal every night. All the dishes were superb but we had mushroom soup one night and it was the best soup I have ever tasted! In fact it was one of the best foods I have ever tasted! The breakfast is very good indeed and you can order whatever you like from the menu which is very comprehensive. I found that set me up for the whole day and I didn’t need a lunch. I must also mention the wine. The wine list is very comprehensive with some difficult to come by wines in it too like Chateau Musar. On 2 nights we went with the wine pairing list which I thought was very good value, especially the cheaper of the 2 lists we had every night. The hotel is a good centre for seeing things in the local area and , despite going in November we found things to occupy ourselves for the 3 days we were there. They have various themed weekends too which sound brilliant. But the hotel is so good it is worth going to anytime. We will certainly be back."
