"Wow!! What can I say !!! The last time I came here was 2016 with my son and the restaurant consisted of a couple of tables and no toilet !!! We had no preconceptions and came with my in laws who live on the island!!! After a bit of a Rocky start with service the food was delivered!! To say that the quality and quantity was out of this world was an understatement!!! We all ordered the sea food platter !!! The variety of beautiful fish was outstanding and so was the freshness and quality!!! The waitress who’s Birthday it was dressed in a beautiful pink dress who's shift started while we were in the middle of our meal was the best !!! Make sure you keep her she turned the service to an outstanding immediately!!! This restaurant is an absolute must if you visit the island !!! If you compare the quality and freshness along with the price it beats the Hut in Colwell Bay in every category hands down !!!We will talk about our experience for many months and can’t wait until we are back next year to experience it again !!! Sea food Heaven !!Thanks for the best night out we have had all year"

"Absolutely delightful dining experience! We chose this restaurant based on its reviews, and it certainly lived up to its high ratings. The food was fresh, beautiful, and delicious—perfect for my young children. The children's menu was fantastic, and the portion sizes were just right. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick!"

"The staff at this restaurant is extremely friendly and the fish tea is excellent. We dined in for lunch and the price per person was between £10 and £20. The food quality and service both received a rating of 5, while the atmosphere was rated a 4. I highly recommend trying the Medium Fish Tea dish."

"This charming neighborhood pub is a must-visit. We stopped in multiple times during our holiday and were always greeted by friendly and hospitable staff. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, including a tasty Chickpea, sweet potato, and spinach curry that I particularly enjoyed. The Sunday lunch, while not a carvery, is still fantastic and you can opt for a smaller portion if you prefer. The selection of beers and wines is impressive and reasonably priced. Overall, a visit to this pub is definitely worth it if you're in the area. Food: 5 stars."

"My partner and I called in here for a bite to eat last Monday on my way back from Belfast. If there was a spot for no stars, that is what I would give this place. I wantedd to complain but my partner told me not to as he didn't want to make a scene. Im so sorry I didn't now. I ordered chicken goujons and garlic, and he had the pitta chicken. His chicken was like charred rubber it was so overcooked. My meal was like a plate of grease. The goujonsweres just pure grease on a plate. I scraped the batter off and tried to eat the chicke, but it was like goo. The garlic fries were in a bowl of grease. The young waiter who lifted the plates just did that and no more. We were never offered desserts, notthat wee would have taken any anyway. The other staff were just cleaning around us as if to say it's leaving time. It's very rude to be brushing up floors and spraying tables in a clean u in front of customers. Would most definitely never go near this place again. called in here for a bite to eat last Monday o my way back from Belfast. If there was a spot for no stars, thatt is what I would give this place. "Have been here a couple of times for a cuppa, but this time we decided to book a table for lunch. There was an excellent range of fish dishes on offer, so my hubby and I had the grilled plaice which was nicely cooked nice to have the option of potatoes and veg accompanying the meal, rather than the ubiquitous chips and peas though these were also an option, should you prefer them (my son opted for these with his scampi). There was also the alternative of having a mixed salad as an accompaniment my mother in law went for this option with her sea bass, and the salad looked really fresh and delicious. We didn’t stay for dessert, but the homemade puddings looked incredible, and portions very generous! It was very busy by 1pm, so I would recommend booking a table if you’re coming for lunch."

"Very unfriendly staff , ordered a meal for two which took good 30 minutes to arrive, when it did it was bog standard, when asked for some extra salt, small sachet thrown onto table by man who I presume was the owner. As mentioned by previous customer it’s only for local people who just need a drink. Should have noticed no one else was eating. No wonder pubs are closing down."

"We are currently staying in a lodge nearby and decided to visit Luss in the mid-morning. After walking around the area, we stopped in for a bite to eat and a drink. A nice bonus was that it was dog-friendly! We ordered two Scottish breakfasts, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were very welcoming and even offered our dog some treats and water without us having to ask. I would recommend this place to anyone passing through, and we would definitely visit again. Service: Dine-in."

"Food was not as expected My wife’s Sticky chicken was dry and tough (obviously reheated) so when she pointed this out politely and without making a fuss was promptly offered an alternative which she declined because that’s what she ordered and it should have been worth eating in the first place ! I must point out that the the lady serving was very nice and apologetic however was less impressed with the response from the person who gave us the bill who when I questioned about paying full price for that meal was promptly reminded that my wife refused a replacement and should have requested a price reduction before she printed off the bill and in full earshot of other diners which we didn’t appreciate ! However the bill was adjusted and we left the restaurant with the opinion that we would now not choose to return. Such a shame because it’s a lovely old restaurant with plenty of character and we’d eaten there before on our last holiday to Looe Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £60–70 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2"

"The rooms here are really stunning, feel very luxurious and are surprisingly quiet. Super cosy fireplace downstairs in the pub where you can have breakfast dinner. The location makes it feel really special too, right on the town square. All the amenities you could need on your doorstep. In February it seems a lot of places are closed in the week so the pub downstairs is probably the best option for dinner unless you have a car Walkability: 2 minute walk from the ferry terminal, 2 min walk from the bus stop that can take you to Newport or alum bay. Lovely walking route along the river to Freshwater which starts across the road from the bus stop Food and drinks: Good selection of pub food for dinner Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Great view, Quiet, Great value"

"Booked fish and chips twice, £28, for 5pm, no confermation email so had to go in and check order received, arrived to collect meal at 5 and ended up waiting 10 minutes while the meal was cooked, so booking for 5 was a waist of time. The fish was not quite cooked as some of the batter was still runny, and the chips were cut so thin that they were crispy but had no content, good way to save money on potatos. The fish and chips came with mint and pea humans, not great and tartar sauce, nice, also jars of ketchup from Essex and mayo, not required and very waistful. All in all for £28 not value for money or a great experience and would not recommend it, for the price."

"I've been waiting a long time for the Cape to offer dinner and was so happy to get the email to say they were hosting first Saturdays of the month for the next 3 months. I've been going to the Cape for a few years now and absolutely recommend them, so this occasion was even better than I could have expected. The team running the restaurant are really friendly and welcoming. The Chef is a magician, the food we were served was amazing, the starters, the main and the desert were exceptional. I like the fact that the Cape serves lager the local brewers (Rebellion brewery) nice touch!! If you can get a table please try the goat curry with yellow rice it sensational, this is now my go to meal, i'm gutted that I can get to go back in November as they are fully booked, but I have a reservation for December and cant wait. See you soon Cape."

"I recently enjoyed a fantastic lunch at Pots of Pleasure and the experience was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance was warm, and the service was impeccable. The menu offered a diverse range of delectable options, and each bite was a burst of flavours, leaving a lasting impression. To add to the joy of the day, I picked up a present from the shop, and the meticulous gift-wrapping caught my eye. The attention to detail in the wrapping was as impressive as the diverse selection of items in the store. It turned a simple purchase into a special moment, and the recipient was genuinely thrilled. In conclusion, the fantastic lunch at Pots of Pleasure and the beautifully wrapped present from the shop made for a memorable day. Whether you're looking for a culinary treat or a thoughtful gift, this experience is a testament to the exceptional quality and care that both the cafe and the shop bring to their offerings. Highly recommended for those seeking a perfect blend of culinary delights and thoughtful surprises. Thank you Mark, your café is one of the best I've ever been to."

"The finest Greek cuisine in the countryside! The service is exceptional, the staff is welcoming, and the portion sizes are generous—all at great prices. Whenever we're craving Greek food, we always choose Commercial Winds. The flavors are outstanding, and the dining experience is delightful. While takeout is nearly as good as dining in, it simply can't compare to the fantastic atmosphere created by the owner and staff at this wonderful gem of a restaurant. It's easy to overlook this hidden treasure, but don't let that happen!"

"As everything shuts early on Sunday nights (same for Mondays) we came for an early dinner. I hadn’t had lunch too long ago so I decided to have two sides, the shrimp and cheese dippers. My partner had a bbq stack burger with chips. The shrimp and cheese dippers were nice and I liked the sauces. They didn’t have milkshakes and we wanted a sundae but they were out of ice cream which was disappointing. It was quite pricey but maybe other places are cheap. I don’t run a business so it’s hard for me to judge. Updated from previous review on 2022-09-05"

"This is the probably the best bar/restaurant in Whitstable. You can have a drink here before eating elsewhere with recommendations from the great staff or stay for a scrumptious meal in the bar or restaurant. The food and service are second to none. We had a lovely lunch without breaking the bank which isn’t easy in Whitstable. We had drinks another evening in a relaxed bar. Yes it’s only for children over 12 years (replying to the petulant comment below) but as a mother and grandmother it’s nice sometimes just to have a meal or drink without the little ones. I can’t recommend the Royal Naval Reserve enough. Thank you to the lovely staff and owners. We will definitely be back!"

"I had a wonderful walk on Skinningrove beach with Buster and Mrs, and decided to search for the nearest bar. I came across this incredible place, which I had passed by a few times without realizing it was a bar/restaurant. The staff were lovely and accommodating to dogs, and we enjoyed a delicious prawn sandwich with a side of chips. The other meals on the menu looked appetizing and were reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning in the future."

"Myself and 9 family members went for Christmas Eve dinner and will never return. Was pre booked and our table wasn’t even ready on arrival, bar staff didn’t know how to pour drinks or even know where anything was then didn’t know how to open till to give change, place was empty so it should never have took 15 minutes to get 4 drinks. When the food came out, server almost spilt it over table and didn’t even know what was on the plates. Some got steaks which were not how they asked for cooked and were cold , chips were old and cold, gammon was not nice and also cold and 3 turkey dinners that were ordered were terrible, extremely dry, weren’t hot and didn’t taste nice at all. All plates had so much food left on them and not once did anyone ask if everything was ok. We did not order dessert as we had waited 30 minutes on someone coming to take our order. We do not recommend this place at all."
