"Room was overwarm, ran out of onion rings on Easter Sunday so no shops open to get more! Felt it was expensive for what it was no better quality than say a Beefeater at what felt like high prices. Service was friendly and fairly quick but were not many guests think they may have struggled if full. May go back again to a more local restaurant but only if a special occasion due to prices. Suggest they use another platform than OpenTable for booking though as I unsubscribed previously due to getting spammed with emails all the time."

"The General Manager was very accommodating and took the initiative when it took us 30 minutes to be served our drinks. Unfortunately, the waiter seemed focused on only a few tables and didn't take our order in a timely manner. The food was decent; I wanted steak but it was out (which I understand given the lockdown the next day). Overall, the venue had a nice atmosphere and vibe."

"since over 15 years sophies steakhouse visited and since the summer it was my first time. I went past the last weeks often to visit during the tireless veganuary, so I jumped on the opportunity to have a relaxed dinner there...with a friend on a Tuesday night. the dinner itself was the usual quality ingredients simple things made very good and fair value for the location as expected. I was disappointed, however, that I was at the reception of the restaurant for approx. 5 minutes were allowed to stand (besides a board that has asked customers to wait) where I was ignored, although I was passed on several times by the employees without gruß or recognition. it seems quite unnecessary that customers (also with reservations) on this wise on a Tuesday night around 19:30 clock, if there is a bar area on the immediate left side of the at the beginning that I quite comfortable my time in, until someone around me to put around me and safe enough, a small waiting snake formed behind us through the time we finally sit, although there is a series of open tables. my words very carefully to choose, I told the waiter (the manager) when he put us that as “a courteous world of advice” when they let customers wait at the entrance, they should be more of an effort to welcome them immediately, but this seemed to be taken as a personal affront and I was accused that it was quite hysterical, “he was being back in the moment when I met him during this already negotiated exchange we were asked twice (at this point) if we wanted to proceed with our booking by the waiter who obviously had decided that he would rather leave the partially empty restaurant. Despite every attempt to go, I didn't want my friend embarrassing, who visited the restaurant more regularly from late, so we tried to make the best of an otherwise insignificant dinner. within spores of playing the sacrifice, the waiter could explain that he was very stressed, as they were particularly short workers (the experience of my friend also from a previous visit) and fair to him seemed to be that he had a large area on his own. Of course, I have addressed any sympathy, and it is a management problem that must be solved especially for that of human, but why not just with an excuse or even only a recognition of feedback received, instead of expressing themselves and making absurd accusations if it receives polite and constructive feedback? would the device rather not mention a bad customer experience and decide to simply go into reasonable feedback? to his credit, the rest of the service was professional, but it is hard to do such a basic misunderstanding of the customer service in a time when they think restaurants should do everything in their power to customers again welcome after the break-up of the last 18 months. the whole episode is pretty bad at sophies I'm sorry to say and I won't be back in a hurry."

"For a special birthday dinner, we had a lovely evening. The atmosphere is a little too loud perhaps for an intimate date night, but the food more than made up for it. I had the fillet with bearnaise and she had the rump with peppercorn...sauce, sharing fries and a creamed spinach plus some olives and a Manhattan. We were both confident that they were some of, if not the, best steaks we’ve ever had. The spinach was a bit too cheesy, and the olives were an absolutely massive portion for the price. The bill came to £108 including service, which is expensive however we were able to use an OpenTable dining voucher to bring this down. The manager made using this very easy (even if the waitress struggled to understand us), which is rare in that programme as most nice restaurants don’t accept them."

"On my second visit to this restaurant, I found myself cramped at a table despite requesting a specific one that remained empty. I had also asked for extra potatoes and fewer parsnips, but received the opposite - three potatoes and an overwhelming amount of parsnips. The wine was also priced much higher than expected. While these issues were eventually resolved after I complained, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor service. The Sunday roast is expensive, but worth it when done properly. Unfortunately, on this occasion, it fell short of expectations due to the mishaps."

"The restaurant was very good, but we all decided to try the sharing menu which cost £27 per person. The menu included a large plate of chops, pork loin, and steak that we shared between us. Although the total bill came to £108, we felt that we only received a small portion of meat each, making it seem quite expensive. However, the meal did come with a side dish for each person, which was a generous portion. Overall, the food and drinks were excellent, and the service was exceptional. We would definitely consider dining at this restaurant again."

"Was the second time I had eaten here but had a lovely Sunday meal here last Sunday courtesy of Flatmate. Butcher and Grill (situated on the formersite of Cafe Rouge) occupies a great, imposing site. The Butchers shop welcomes you as you walk in- to the right a lovely array of meat and to the left a delicatessen/grocers selling a selection of organic produce. The split-level open plan restaurant is to the back. A heavily stocked bar located to the left, high ceilings and exposed brick work give the place a sophisticated yet homely feel. Flatmate and I, starving as ever, eyed the menu and decided to forgo the starters (pretty unexciting) and dive into the mains to stop ourselves drooling onto the table. We excitedly ordered plates of the rib eye steak. Sides as do the sauces, come separately so we ordered some green beans, mash, dauphinoise potatoes, mushrooms and green peppercorn and red wine sauces. Before I was about to chew Flatmates arm off it all came thick and fast and we were very excited. Meat looked good, potatoes looked good. Veg looked ok but mushrooms a side does not make. HmmmmAmyway, it was great. We loved the organic rib eye fantastic and flavoursome though a touch overdone. Nevermind we said, we were too hungry to care and i was upset when the last mouthful had gone. Flatmate pushed the boat out and ordered us puddings cheesecake and an apple thingy. In preparation, we had to unbutton the top of our jeans to make room. Can't remember but i think they were nice the steak just keeps coming back to me steak cheesecake? steak apple thingy? Not sure how much it all came up to as lovely Flatmate paid (thanks Nic). But it was a great hearty, winters meal perfect for a cold Sunday afternoon. P.S. The first time I came here I came with my Dad who wanted to order off the menu so we wandered down to the Butchers and he got the Butcher to cut him a hefty slab of rib eye must have weighed about a pound! Seriously my dad was eating long after mum and I had finished but he eventually did I was so proud and he was happily full!"

"The restaurant was poorly managed, very quiet, and lacked any ambiance. We had to wait a long time for someone to take our order and were disappointed to find that many dishes were not available, including crocodile steak. The only exotic meat option was zebra. Despite my 11-year-old son being too old to be classified as a child, they did not offer any child-friendly options. We were served a burnt burger with no cheese and fries coated in a spice my son couldn't eat. It took a long time to get our bill, which was overpriced and included a 12.5% service fee. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. I don't mind paying for quality food, service, and atmosphere, as I recently had a great meal in Florida for over £300. The Zulu dish at this establishment was far from a pleasant experience or tasty bite. Overall, it was a complete letdown."

"Somewhat disapponted about this eatery. Had heard some of the hype before we booked 4 weeks in advance for 4 persons. Service was very attentive and friendly but the noice was almost at excrutiating level. Tables quite close together and lots of diners. Our starters were Ok the pork belly bits were commented on but the smoked mackeral hot potato salad seemed out of place not sure why . Ordered 4 steaks rib eye, sirloins and rump between us. All seemed cooked as requested tho the rump was a little less succulent than hoped for albeit still pink inside. The sides were titchy to say the least cheese mash very good but TBH menfolk needed 1 x each not shareable size wise, garlic mushrooms were 4 mushrooms ! creamed spinach tasty and chips crispy. The sauces were ordinary watery and total rip off in price the little jugs are only half filled so several jugs needed for 4 persons. Did like the unusual flavour ice cream scoops for dessert. Only had 1 x bottle of wine med priced, 2 cocktail drinks and an extra single wine £15 in its own for Pinot Grigio FFS was astounded to find bill WAAAAY in excess of £400 with something like £49 added for service charge. We could only hope the staff got some of it."

"We approached the restaurant to see from the window that no one was inside which was worrying. I was put off and contemplated finding another restaurant. Called to ask if they was even open and turns out you have to enter and go downstairs. First impression wasn't great. Service was okay and the restaurant looked nice. I ordered the Fillet medium rare, what came was not medium rare but more medium well done, my wife ordered the chicken which was lovely. I was offered a replacement but I didn't want to wait whilst my wife had eaten her food."

"Unfortunately we had to re-order our drinks three times as the waiter and waitress kept serving us with Cokes with Ice instead of Bacardi and Diet Cokes with NO ICE and then suggested we just take the ice out with our fingers ! It was minutes before we got the correct drinks. However the food was as good as always and I was able to use my Gourmet Card for the discount."

"Booked in here for Tuesday 24th April evening when the weather was rubbish and I had the holiday blues so didn 't want to cook and the added bonus of a Groupon voucher to use also swayed my decision. Parking isn 't great to start with and I 'd guiltily parked outside someones house down from the cinema entrance : We entered for them to address us quizzically and claim that even though I 'd called earlier to book us in with my Groupon voucher reference they had nothing in the diary.. We were seated anyway at a very small table squashed right up at the back we had to 'bump ' passed 3 other tables which I found quite rude to the people sat down. We had no sooner got our coats off picked the menu up then we were pounced on to take our drink order efficient maybe or just a bit too eager? We ordered a bottle of red wine anyway not the house which I thought was a bit steep for a basic wine! and it was brought quick as a flash they then expected us to be ready to order we had only been in the place 8 minutes! The waitress was sent back to us and we ordered the meat antipasti to start, followed by the Gnocchi for me Lasagna for the Mr. We were brought a bread basket when the wine was produced however the butter given was solid clearly not to be used! The bread was nice and fresh though. Again, i didn 't even get a sip of my wine before the food was placed in front of us had it been pre prepared sat waiting to be ordered? The starter platter was to feature ' A selection of Italian meats and cheeses served with artichokes, olives and homemade bread ' the only bread we had was from the initial bread basket and I wouldn 't call 2 olives a selection! The meat was good quality but we felt a tad disappointed overall. We then had to wait 15 minutes for our main! My Gnocchi was nice, if a little bit bland, so I needed to be a bit over generous with the seasoning myself it lacked a bit of bite to be honest but the portion size was good. My Mr didn 't have may complaints for the Lasagna other than it could do with a bit more meat! maybe just a man thing! While we were eating, the close proximity of the tables to each other caused a few 'moments ' with the waiters a full portion of chips lost down the back of a diners chair and a bottle of beer knocked off the table when his bum stuck out a bit much in squeezing passed! Not really what I want to watch when having my dinner. We asked for the bill and sat for nearly 10 mins before I got up and went to the counter to ask again they were in no rush to get it paid either so we took the bill to the counter and paid there. I can see a lot of people are impressed with this place and go back on a regular basis I 'm not won over after this visit however. the tables are too close together the service is either too eager or too laid back where is the happy medium the beer wine list is a bit pricey the menu descriptions are a bit over zealous or they need to actually deliver on the description the food lacked seasoning. From when I observed during our meal, they are not short of business and do a good student trade. I 'm not sure for the 'professional ' couple however they have the right service/food/price quality balance I would be looking for to go regularly."

"eating was excellent (steaks, burger, starter) and we really thought that one of the kinderburgers was a grown-up. friendly staff, nice restaurant, but the place was so loud that I almost have a headache, although I was only half full. they cannot as such make them responsible for the poor only the acoustics of the space."

"First of all it started with it with a drink then we had food after the owner stated it was good authentic Indian and American food, we ordered 2 of the empire burgers which was dry and rubbery and the amount it sauce made the burger soggy, we also ordered a balti which came out red in a tiny dish there was hardly any chicken which was cooked terribly and the chicken was scrag ends, the naan bread wasn’t homemade it was shop brought it was a tough as dogs toy and the amount of grease on top was good enough for a pond, the food came out at odd times and they forgot the sides. The place was like a ghost town with very odd cheap decor they only had one member of staff which was clumsy and didn’t know really what to do, also no draft for fizzy pop, we told the waitress about the food and didn’t do much about it the chef didn’t apologise it was just an excuse of “short staff” which if you’re going to take people’s money you still need to keep up the standards. THIS PLACE NEEDS SHUTTING DOWN IVE HAD BETTER MICROWAVE FOOD"

"beautiful steak, drinks are expensive, waiting workers appear new, half clearing table before everyone was finished. just hope that the service standard from our first visit does not slip because if you want to calculate their prices, then you would also like a good service."

"experiences have been very hit or miss. The sushi rolls are decently priced and fairly tasty, but I was disappointed with the quality of the imitation crab meat. It tasted more like a poor imitation of fake crab rather than the real thing. The delivery was on time and the packaging was secure, but I can't say I'll be ordering from Urawa again. Overall, a disappointing experience."

"Food and service were top notch, Dermot in particular was attentive, friendly and efficient. The cheesecake was incredible and the roast was one of the best we’ve had in a very long time. We did find the environment a little loud for our liking as our table was out in the open in the middle of the space, we struggled to hear each other at times. I imagine it would be slightly better towards the edges of the room near the walls. We will definitely be back, possibly on a quieter day than the Euros final…!"

"I love how accommodating and attentive staff were as it was my graduation meal so they really helped make it an even more memorable and enjoyable experience. We dined using the set menu priced at 37.50 GBP per person which was amazing value for money. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food as it was flavoursome and beautifully presented. I wish I remembered the staff’s name but I got carried away with a few glasses of wine courtesy of the staff who even brought out a surprise desert to celebrate my academic achievement. They even brought out a second for photoshoot purposes!"

"Don’t bother here ! We travelled here after trying the Franco manca pizza at Tesco and loving it so much and expected the restaurant to be even better. The waiter wasn’t that friendly upon arrival. We asked for garlic bread once seated, which was lovely, but waiter left without asking us for our drinks order , and then waited ages to be asked what we would like to drink. Once our drinks arrived , beer arrived in a bottle even though we asked for on tap , no glass given with the beer , and the red wine was served in a beaker too. Then we had our food order taken and asked for a jug of water. Food came , wasn’t great at all , didn’t eat much of it and had to ask AGAIN for water to come as we didn’t want to continue eating without a glass of water. By the time the water arrived we didn’t want to eat anymore. Not a single check back on the food from the waiters. We stacked our plates up to make it obvious we had finished eating and waited over 20 minutes for someone to come over to collect plates. Someone I believe the manager came over to collect plates and asked how the food was. I said we didn’t enjoy it. No comment from manager. We asked for the bill , waited another 20 minutes. Ridiculous, left £20 on the table and walked out. Will never be returning. Very dissapointed ."
