"My wife and I had booked a Chinese meal on the 28th September and were looking for somewhere to have some drinks prior to the meal and my wife spotted the Mercat opposite the Chinese which was absolutely perfect for us. We ordered a Cider and a Peroni and the barmaid Stacey told us to find a table and she would bring the drinks over to us. Whilst enjoying our drinks we kept seeing lovely meals being taken to vsrious tables and they all looked exceptional, very well presented and you could clearly see that everyone was really enjoying them and the lovely background music being played. We both agreed that we would return on the followimg evening and try the food as it really looked too good to miss and we were certainly not disappointed. After a couple of drinks each we both decided to go for the fish and chips and we both agreed that it was the nicest fish and chips we had had for years, everything very fresh and so tasty. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Sauvignon blanc with the meal and my wife chose the cheese platter with olives, girkin and biscuits and I chose the icecream for our sweets, absolutely perfect. Unfortunately the lovely Stacey was not working on the evening but we did have the lovely Scott, they are a super team, so efficient, friendly, courteous and obliging. Since returning home we have never stopped talking about this wonderful evening, we both loved Edinburgh and this restaurant really was the icing on the cake. We are already talking about returning to the City and returning to this beautiful restaurant, what a find! . Well done to you all and thankyou!"

"Gorgeous little gem hidden in North Acton. Such a picturesque spot if you’re partial to five minutes outside to appreciate the river. Food was divine. Just wish the music was a little louder in the charming booths to the side of the restaurant. Would definitely recommend the sticky chicken wings and the flat iron steak"

"I 've always liked Greens in Ballyhackamore. But the simple fact is that the food and the service have gone downhill while the prices have gone drastically uphill. £84 for 2 medium pizzas (which are actually small), 2 large pizzas (which are not particularly big) and two side salads. Oh, sorry- plus corkage on a couple of bottles. Service was slow despite the restaurant being virtually empty and elements of the order were missed. To be fair to Greens, it is just jumping on the boat that local hospitality in Northern Ireland is currently manning and that is the the good ship Rob The Customer Blind and blame it on everything over the last few years. Sorry Greens, but I won 't be back in a hurry."

"Went here as I was running early for a meeting so I thought i would grab a smoothie. Good selection but I grabbed a strawberry cool. for a small which may seem expensive but when you know the rent in the area it is...reasonable. I am not usually a fan of yoghurt based drinks but this one tasted fresh and I would definitely have to come back. Great service and everyone was friendly. Only negative point is the straws are too big for the lid so as mine was not cut through properly I had to dispose of the lid. So just be careful when putting the straw in to open up the slits otherwise your drink may overspill. Good seating area with free wifi and a few power sockets dotted around should you wish to charge your phone or laptop. A pleasant surprise on a Tuesday morning on Curzon Street. Do drop by and give them a try. Noted they also do food and vegan desserts."

"The restaurant space was dark and gloomy we were the only diners in our largish area, there was no atmosphere and any ambience was lacking. It needs to be more informal and welcoming. It felt dowdy and corporate, not living up to its name of The Neighbourhood. The menu was interesting and the portions generous The starter of prawns were good. I had fish and chips The batter was stodgy and bready, the chips were overly large and unappetising. My partner had salmon broth and it was was a generous portion and very tasty. We had a delicious side salad. All in all the food was fine but something needs to be done with the decor and surroundings to make it more attractive. It is competing with some other very trendy places in the vibrant community of Bruntsfield"

"Recently moved to the local area and decided to pop down about 10pm on a Tuesday with a friend. Was really pleasantly surprised to see around 20 people in a local pub on a Tuesday night with quite a good atmosphere. My friend and I were impressed by good value pints but disappointed that the barmaid called last orders at 10.30pm despite their website showing a closing time of 12am. Undeterred we tried to enjoy our pints but the barmaid started quite quickly to close up, clearing tables is understandable but we found turning lights off and loudly pulling down shutters to be quite uncomfortable. Upon leaving, I tried to ask for clarification for future reference, and was advised that the bar closed at 11pm, despite the information online. A regular did explain that the closing time depends on how many people are in the bar but if 20 patrons aren’t enough for a Tuesday in a residential area I can’t see it ever being open to 12. A nice atmosphere but I’m not sure how comfortable we will be going back."

"I first encountered TikkaTonic in the Bury St Edmunds market. I was blown away by the incredible flavour of the Samosa Channa Chat. It left every one of my taste buds tingling and satisfied. The only trouble is that my stomach is not big enough. I have over time sampled other dishes such as the Naan Egg Rolls and been to the Lamdin Road premises and every time have been impressed with the quality of the food. I am devastated to no longer live in the area as nothing I have found since comes close and my Ma tells me how much she enjoys taking a detour from shopping on a Wednesday or a Saturday to get a bite to eat. When I do return to the area, I will always try to make time to come back on a market day to get my TikkaTonic fix!"

"Great service from the moment I stepped in, the staff were so friendly and always checked up on us in this cosy venue. The atmosphere is busy and cute perfect dinning for a first date. The food was incredible, the burger is cooked to your liking and everything down to the onion were fresh and tasty, the staff always check up on you and kept us smiling. There is a huge choice of burgers to choose from, Beef to Lamb to Chicken, you can even get a vast amount of choice from the started from chicken wings to onion rings too. This is a fancy way to have a proper gourmet burger. You won't be disappointed in taste as its cooked medium rare or well done how ever you prefer. "Pizzas were excellent. Arrived quickly. Service friendly. Kids loved designing their own. (No kids size but our 10 year old ate a whole one on her own and said it was the best pizza ever! On the downside a couple of the soda flavours were out. It was very quiet at 6pm on a Saturday and as a result lacked any atmosphere."

"I had the best experience in Bloc Pop Up today, I arrived to get a take away pizza with my young daughters but the waitress found us a table outside and so we decided to stay as it was sunny and a great evening to eat outdoor. We ordered margaritas pizzas and a plain burger, the food was absolutely delicious! The waitress were so very friendly and we really felt welcome there. This doesn’t always happen when we go out for dinner as my daughters are very young and as every child they can be quite noisy and messy but the waitresses really made us feel good! I will surely go back as we live very close! Thank you thank you thank you!! Absolutely stars!!!"

"We went here on a busy Friday night for 'date night ' and was greeted warmly and shown to our table immediately...we had the Black Angus rump for 2 which was ample and reasonably priced also a really good bottle of wine again reasonably priced... would definitely recommend and have done to friends over the weekend looking forward to going back in the future"
