"if I could give this place, minus stare I would, ordered the food for the half of the last seven and not nearly twenty to ten. I get his pandemic, but if they can't honor orders, or they're probably very late, so on the website to say its not hard to update their website to say that they eat over two hours before it appears, but then I assume that they don't want that, telephoneed and asked where eating was after the first hour, a murmurmured it soon. I like to eat this, but I will never order here again, perhaps the staff like eating at this time of night, I don't and if they aren't honest enough to just say how long it will be, then I go somewhere."

"Fantastic and we would definitely go again. Food was good.... Service was great! Couple of areas just for feedback. Gravy could have done with being a bit thicker (our personal taste) and probably in a gravy boat, rather than already over the roast. Any it did get rather noisy when all the tables were full. "Welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, excellent value, and friendly service. Impressive wine selection by the glass and a wide variety of gins. Started with chicken liver pate and wild mushroom risotto, both of which were fantastic. The risotto had a perfect balance of flavors and texture, while the pate had a strong taste, although it could have used a bit more dressing on the side salad. The steak and Carbonara were both well-prepared, with the steak and chips being particularly outstanding. The Carbonara was creamy and had a nice egg flavor, but the addition of chicken pieces was not necessary. For dessert, we enjoyed a delicious crumble with pecan topping and homemade vanilla ice cream, as well as a Cheesecake made with Merlyn liquer which was well executed but not a dish we would order again. The only downside was the table we chose near the door to the toilets, which caused a loud bang with each use. Despite this, we will definitely be returning for the fantastic food, service, and ambiance."

"We came here briefly on a Saturday evening. The girl at the door was lovely and my husband asked if they were dog and child friendly (she said they were) and we went in. The lady on the bar also was very welcoming. We however were met by a snooty girl at the bar who seemed confused as to why we were there but gave her the benefit of the doubt and sat down. I then asked the same girl if she had a highchair to which she replied “not up here no” and then seemed confused when we left. We had previously been told it was a child friendly place and therefore assumed a highchair as my 18 month old isn’t going to sit in a proper chair. She then asked an incredibly snooty, smarmy way “oh are you leaving” to which I explained the lack of highchair was the issue, and her respond was “it’s an adult place”. That’s absolutely fine, HAD WE NOT JUST BEEN TOLD IT WAS CHILD FRIENDLY BY SOMEONE ELSE. We ended up eating back at our Travelodge which was dog and child friendly and actually had a lovely meal. Not sure what her issue was with us or children but she seemed to have an issue with us that none of the other staff had at all. Shame as it seemed a nice place other than for her stinking poor attitude"

"A great place for our lunch picked out in Farnham from a few alternatives. I am glad we did. "We visited this restaurant yesterday after having to wait an hour at another pub because the chef never showed up! At this place, they welcomed us right away and told us there would be a 30-minute wait, but we didn’t have to wait at all! The food was fresh and delicious, and it stayed hot throughout our meal. The waitstaff were young, but they were very well-trained and exceptionally polite. We would definitely like to return; a huge round of applause for the entire team that worked together to deliver such perfect dishes. Thank you!"

"My friends and I had booked a big table to share breakfast together on the morning of Pride in Lancaster. When we started towards our table, we were told that dogs weren’t allowed in the “restaurant” which is the room adjoining the bar and no fancier than the bar where dogs are allowed. I responded with surprise as Lancaster is an incredibly dog friendly city. The server simply confirmed her previous statement and walked off. She didn’t offer to find us a nice seat somewhere else, she wasn’t apologetic, that was that. When we complained, someone else offered to move us to the garden but it felt impossible with such a big group so we had to leave. The silver lining is that we’re now having breakfast somewhere that is actually dog friendly and LGBTQ+ friendly but we missed out on spending this time with our friends on a special day. Our dogs are well used to going to cafes and pubs and are very well behaved. As a queer couple, our dogs are our family. If we’d gone in with 3 screaming babies we would have been welcomed. But they rejected our queer family with no explanation. There are much nicer places to eat and drink in Lancaster and much fancier ones too (if that’s your thing) who will happily welcome me and my dogs. I won’t be going back to the Borough."

"This have been our go-to Sunday roast place. It has friendly people and delicious roasts. We normally get the pig Sunday roast which has crispy crackling with all the delicious sides. Unfortunately, yesterday, the crackling was chewy and gummy with the potatoes being burnt. We asked whether there were new chefs or new suppliers. Apparently, there are 2 new chefs. So we paid and went on our way. I'll take a break from Sunday roasts from here for a while until they get back to their consistently delicious Sunday pork roast.
