"This is not a glamorous restaurant it is a small, family run affair, a bit too brightly lit and in need of a few decorative flourishes, but the reviews are so good because despite the less than perfect surrounding the food is genuinely outstanding....I have eaten a lot of Greek food in Athens and the Islands, have many Greek friends and have visited the country over times. This food is exactly like what I have eaten there and in my friends homes. Tasty, rich without being overbearing, comforting, not greasy and totally fresh: and perfectly cooked. It's also reasonably priced. In my opinion it is much better than many way more expensive and celebrated Greek restaurants that serve greasy and tasteless Greek specialities I took my partner and our two kids and they all loved it. We had perfect deep fried calamari that is possibly the best I've ever had thick rings, fresh and tasty, just the right amount of light batter not those stringy thin frozen things sold in most places; spanakopita (spinach and feta fried pies) that were the perfect consistency and ratio of cheese to spinach; taramasalata that was not too creamy (but perhaps could have had a bit more lemon) and then the mains! A delicious chicken souvlaki and whole seabass, both grilled perfectly plainly fresh as can be and delicately seasoned; and a vegetarian Moussaka that was so authentic it took me right back to Greece, again, avoiding the over-greasy bland offerings of so many Greek places light, fluffy and gorgeous. All in all the meal was excellent I took what we didn't eat home and we had a second dinner tonight and it was just as good second time. I highly recommend this restaurant and have only not given it stars because, quite easily, they could make some significant improvements to the interior (dim the lighting for one) and possibly improve the wine list a little. But for Greek food I now know where I am going, everytime. I should point out that this is the first time I've been moved to write a review.."

"Good food, wine, coffee and company. Al Santo has been part of the Fulham Broadway scene for several years now, and is a firmly established favourite for many people. There's excellent coffee with croissants in the morning, moving on to great lunches to eat in or take away, and the place is always humming in the evening. You'll meet plenty of interesting people, and the pictures and objects around the place are great talking points (with my favourite being the nude penny farthing rider .. Talk to Roberto (the owner, who's often around talking to staff and customers) about the wines take his advice, and you won't be disappointed Highly recommended!"

"Another amazing meal here, we come at leastbonce a month for some of the most authentic, tasty and reasonably priced food. The dolmades are always great and the feta and spinach parcel are delicious! The gyros platter is what I adore and it cannot be faulted but, the filthy fries, omg, the filthy fries! Salty, crisp and moreish, the sauce is spicy and the feta just makes this another level. I would go just for the fries if I could! Decent amount of chicken or pork meat on top too! We shall return in the not too distant future!"

"The staff at this restaurant are delightful, funny, and hospitable. However, don't expect quick service when it comes to paying, especially during busy times. The espresso is delicious. The cakes are also tasty but quite expensive, especially if you have a food intolerance or allergy. For example, a gluten-free and vegan slice of cake cost us £12, without any drinks included. I would consider going back, but only after saving up some money."

"The service was perfect. Attentive and offered great input. The food was incredible. We had the special croquettes and octopus for starters. For mains we had the boar, lamb chops and lamb wrap. Every dish was delicious and flavorful. The lamb chops were perhaps the best we had ever tasted. Will definitely go back again"

"Just enjoyed a breakfast here it was lovely, I had a veggie one and my wife had the traditional one, very tasty. Nice and cosy inside and the lighting and decor was nice. Cakes looked delicious but didn't try one today! The only one negative for me was the cup of tea I had, I don't think it was made with filtered water as it had a bit of an aftertaste of unfiltered water and I do like my tea to be spot on but apart from that everything else was great. Friendly staff and great service, nice view from upstairs too. Vegetarian options: Lovely veggie breakfast"

"Must have been a bad day there?!? Took a long time to come, card machine playing up, flies I saw were walking over the quiches in the counter. It was a hot day, but they can still be covered up like other places do. Sorry, but that wasn 't Pad Thai! More like a Welsh equivalent and call it Bad Dai Firstly used the wrong noodles, more like cut up very soft spaghetti, not much of it too. A very few stems of beansprout, think a very tiny bit of tomato ketchup cooked in to give it an Asian taste?!?! Then most of it was a stir fry veg with no taste. The peanuts are dried, crunched and added to the top later, but this dish had full stir fried in much softer (old? peanuts thrown in when cooking. I don 't think this person has had pad thai before to see how wrong it is. I had to leave it, as it just wasn 't nice. Friendly enough staff at the till though, so I 'll give another star. For the eggs on fried potato, fried potato was ok, but probably upgrade the eggs as they were bland. Thought I had COVID for one minute for lack of taste, but no, popped in for something to eat a few doors away. If the chef reads this, DO NOT TAKE IT AS BAD, take it as constructive criticism!!! Go try Pad Thai other places, and ask them what they do. They won 't mind... Again, I 'm sorry as I cannot go back after that visit, but I always wish any business luck for the future, as I do realize it is hard."

"There’s certainly no shortage of food outlets in Ocean Terminal, with the likes of Wagamama, Pizza Express and Franky Benny’s all taking up residence. On a recent visit, Mr. Nick’s seemed to be the only busy outlet, with only a couple of empty tables. We (the girlfriend and myself decided to try it out. We both went for the Chicken Gyros pita. It’s described on the menu as being wrapped with tomatoes, onion tzatziki and fries and was only £4.50. Who would have thought that including fries in a pita would be such a good idea? The meat to salad to fries ratio was spot on, and there was just enough of each to keep hunger at bay but not ruin my appetite for dinner later. The staff at Mr Nicks were both friendly and helpful, making it a delightful place to pop into for a spot of lunch. It’s perfect for grabbing a quick bite to eat while out shopping or grabbing some dinner before or after a visit to the cinema. Note: They don't offer alcoholic beverages (Sorry! I didn't get any pics during this visit. Read the full review here:"

"This place is simply amazing. The shop is indeed well stocked with supplements, health foods especially organic, organic fruit and vegetables, and a whole host of organic cooking ingredients to and other health products I found apple cider, colloidal silver just to name a few. There is a selection of fresh healthy breads and a display cabinet with lots of tempting treats such as brownies as well as vegetarian wraps and sandwiches to take away. The food choice is indeed very very good. And on the 1st floor is a vegetarian cafe producing really great hot meals and of course organic coffee made with organic milk. There are vegetarian alternatives to milk, such as soya and almond milk. The cafe is extremely popular which goes to show just how good the food is. Vegans are catered for too. This establishment is well worth a visit when in Minehead I always eat lunch at the cafe because the food is so tasty"

"The most delicious meal I've had for a really long time. Booked this last minute slightly on a whim because not our usual cuisine. The chicken souvlakia was absolutely unreal. The chicken was thick, incredibly moist and the flavour was absolutely delicious. We had a mese mix of smaller plates, about 5 or 6 and that was perfect for 2 people. The pita breads were warm and the dips were so tasty. We also had chicken wings which had so much flavour and crispy just in the right places. The pudding was a malt chocolate slice and again, delicious. This was slightly on the pricier side, but for me, absolutely worth it. Whilst the dishes were very simple, the attention to detail and the amount of flavour was so fleshing. The interior was full of love and attention, with pretty plants and artifical vines on the beams. The host was very friendly and the overall experience was just so nice. Highly recommend."

"Stopped for a cream tea which the wife enjoyed. Usual 2 scones provided with jam and clotted cream and a good pot of tea. They normally do Gluten Free cream tea but due to high demand had sold out of GF scones. They were however able to supply GF cheese scones so I had a savoury version of cream tea, 2 GF cheese scones, a tomato chutney and a cream cheese. Was very nice and would recommend."

"It was our first visit to the Black Lion in Appledore and we were not disappointed. The decor was modern but there still kept the charm of a village pub. The service was great and our Sunday lunch was exceptional. It had a great atmosphere and we will definitely be returning. "We arrived early for our booked table for six, after driving 350 miles to meet family, arranged a couple of months ago. We were told that our table had been given to another party who had arrived late and lingered over their food, and there was nothing that could be done, despite us hanging around for them to arrange a solution. While we were having this conversation another party of six turned up and were ushered past us and seated at a hastily arranged table right in front of us. Terrible customer service, compounded by the owner later attempting to get my wife to remove her review with an offer of a free meal at a later date. We don 't want a free meal in the future. We wanted the meal with our family that we 'd driven the length of the country to have. I would have expected the Greek owner to understand family values such as this. [Edited to add a response, as that 's the only way I can do so: At no time did I become aggravated , and we gave your staff plenty of time to sort out a solution. I think that you may have been rather misled by your staff as to how the situation unfolded, perhaps they feel that they need to present themselves in a better light than the actual events would show. Also at no time did your waiter ask us for five minutes . If he had, I would gladly and quietly have waited. I am sorry to say that all your protestations about how upset your staff are do not sit at all well after what we experienced on the day. Only one of your waitresses expressed any concern for us at all, and she was apparently powerless to act to make the situation better. No matter. Just another experience of poor service. I 'm sure we 'll survive."

"I gave a review of this place in October 2014 and the response I got back from Manos is that they are not a Restaurant. I copied the following text from the Manos website which clearly shows you do advertise yourselves as a restaurant...... If you have a special occasion coming up, host a meal or party at our restaurant. To reiterate the food was a poor standard which was not cooked right through, obviously using microwaves to cook with which explains why it was cooked on the outside but cold on the inside and swimming in water."

"If you're in search of authentic Greek/Cypriot cuisine in Nottingham, look no further than Eviva Taverna on Barker Gate in the Lace Market quarter. This restaurant is situated in a cellar and has the ambiance of a traditional Greek tavern. They offer a wide selection of mezze dishes as well as a diverse a la carte menu. In addition to the classic chargrilled kebabs and steaks, they also have a good variety of vegetarian options. The drink selection includes Mythos and Keo beers. On select nights, guests can enjoy Greek and belly dancing entertainment. Overall, Eviva Taverna is a solid Mediterranean restaurant with reasonable prices."

"Me and partner visited Ousia for our date night and we had a fantastic experience! The restaurant has a contemporary look but the food and service are very much traditional! Firstly I have to say that the food was outstanding, it was easily one of the best meals me and my partner have had and we will be returning, Ousia has put Greek food on the map for us. Our favourite dish of the night was the Kefalograviera Saganaki (pan fried cheese with honey and sesame) we very much would of ordered more of this if we werenât so full from sampling the other variety of tasty dishes. The food arrived quickly and it was perfection for every dish, we really enjoyed the meze style of dining and the recommendation of dishes per person was just right. Our cocktails were fresh and exciting, showcasing flavours that you wouldnât find on your average cocktail menu. The service we received was stellar, friendly staff that provided us with efficient service. We were never left waiting for anything and felt very attended too. We will be returning to Ousia again hopefully not too far from now!"

"My friends and I visited this restaurant during the week after work, based on the recommendation of positive reviews, and we were not disappointed at all. As soon as we walked in, we received a very warm and friendly welcome. We decided to order the mixed meze and were amazed by the amount of food we received. The starters were all delicious and it was hard to stop eating because everything was so tasty. We enjoyed dips, pita bread, meatballs, halloumi, a large Greek salad, pork chops, shish kebabs, kofte, and more. The service was excellent and we were so satisfied with our meal that we couldn't finish it all because there was just so much food! Including drinks, we paid £135 for 5 people and we all agreed that it was great value for money. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others, as we loved our experience there."
