"I headed to Bills which had plenty of free tables outside, which I could choose from. I was a little concerned that there might be some rain (there was a 90% chance of rain according to my weather app) however it was still lovely and warm. I sat down and looked at the menus. I had pretty much made my choice earlier, however I did look again. They had a set menu and I did think the chestnut mushroom, spinach and truFFle risotto, topped with a poached egg, pumpkin seeds and pea shoots sounded very nice. I guess my hesitation was that this wasn’t likely to be cooked to order, but maybe merely be a heated up prepared dish. Though I with the choice of calamari for a starter it was a possibility. In the end I went with the main menu. What had struck me from the list of starters were the tuna tacos. So decided to have those and the Dinner Special, an 8oz sirloin steak. I placed my order and asked for some tap water along with the food. The tuna tacos arrived very quickly and it was an interesting looking dish. It was seared raw tuna, avocado spicy cherry tomatoes on crunchy blue corn tortillas, with crème fraîche, coriander toasted sesame seeds. I don’t know why, but I was expecting tacos, rather than the serving of tuna, avocado and tomatoes on crunchy blue corn tortillas. However I did like the presentation. The tuna was excellent, and liked the taste and texture. The avocado and tomato was nice as well. The tortilla were a little too crunchy for me, I think some soft blue corn tortillas might have been a better choice. The crème fraîche added some nice coolness and freshness to the dish, though I do think there was a little too much red chilli for me. Having finished my starter and the table was cleared, I had to ask again for some tap water, which hadn’t arrived. I waited for my main course. I went for the dinner special, the 8oz sirloin steak served with rosemary salted fries, a green leaf mixed seed salad and garlic butter. I really enjoyed the steak and it was a really nice meal. I enjoyed sitting outside and the weather was perfect that reminded me of eating out in Greece and Spain, but this was Ealing in London in September. As I was finishing up and paying my bill, the table next me were served with their order of calamari, I was quite pleased I hadn’t ordered it, and had gone with the tuna tacos, as it wasn’t what I had imagined. I thought it might be like the squid you get at Wagamama or Yo! Sushi, but they looked like breaded calamari rings. Something I won’t order next time I go to Bills. The service was efficient, but I think it a little cold as a result. Having said that I did think overall, good service, excellent food and a nice atmosphere. I will go again, but thinking that the weather will change will mean I will be eating inside."

"So when mummy’s at work and the boys need a sugar fix we like to visit Kaspas, it’s local, not what I’d call expensive and it’s not usually very busy. If we are passing it’s a takeaway cone or maybe a drink but to get the full experience you need to dine in. As with some of my other reviews the menus do occasionally offer a try before you buy option as to where I imagine a snotty ginger kid has licked the menu whilst their parents check in with social media so I don’t think it would hurt to wipe them over prior to redistributing to unsuspecting customers. When we moved to Braintree I heard that once upon a time a book was written named sea dragons as the female population here were just so ugly however if this review was for B&Q, McDonald’s, KFC and even some of the half bred people found in Iceland I would agree but in here it’s a nice place to be and the staff friendly and helpful. There is a price tag associated with dining inside as with anywhere and sometimes the staff can confuse themselves which I will come to shortly but on the whole we have come here since it opened and to be honest apart from Creams in lakeside I think you will be hard pushed to find better. Some one said the staff are rude and I’ve witnessed this only once and to be honest had I of been spoken to like that I think I would of given a frosty response similar to the staff member, I thought the staff member held their tongue and was for all intents and purposes professional. We have tried best part of the menu over the years and I hope to include this in the photos. The menu naturally includes ice cream and there are certain flavours I’m not keen on so when I order a sundae I expect to be able to swap certain flavours however this isn’t possible even when I opted to pay more, there was clearly a short circuit with the youngster serving but it didn’t affect our visit. Obviously you aren’t in Italy so I imagine the ice cream comes from a frozen supplier similar to brake Bros , crepes, waffles etc are all made on site and then there is the cake? Again I don’t think home made and I imagine are supplied. There has been comments on TA such as certain items aren’t fresh but you know what this is Braintree and I would much rather that than some woman making it that lives on coldnailhurst avenue. The Resturant is clean and tidy and the toilets have always been clean and well equipped."

"Came for a pre film mea at about 6.45 pm. Restaurant not that busy, so were seated straight away. First thing we noticed is how dirty the floor was (we were sticking to it as we walked), secondly our server pointed to a code on the (dirty) table and saying you know how to order (we didn 't actually) before walking off. As there seemed to be a problem with the app (girl at the counter having a very long argument with staff whilst pointing at her phone), we went and ordered from the main desk. The counter at the main desk is absolutely filthy greasy and sticky and I hope no one was brave enough to eat any of the stale cakes under the grubby glass covers. Girl with phone app problem has now been going for about 10 mins so another member of staff comes to take our order whilst taking the order, a manager informs us that there will be a wait of at least half a hour for the food at least they told us, rather than us just waiting. Very limited choice of beer or wine at vastly inflated prices. Husband went to the toilet and said it was disgustingly dirty. The whole restaurant is so old and tired but there is just no excuse for how dirty it is really didn 't want to eat anything here because of the lack of hygiene. We had ordered a family platter which arrived at least 10 mins apart with most of the sides missing. When the corn did arrive it was burnt to a crisp sent it back and received raw corn instead. I hate to be a complainer, but we are living in times where going out to eat should be a treat, not an excuse to get ripped off to the tune of £100 for some factory chicken, oven chips and microwave rice served up in dirty, scruffy surroundings. The staff here are nice enough but Nandos are not getting any more of my money AVOID."
