I have made my way through the breakfast menu steady, so I thought I would share a round of my favorite dishes for my local foodie followers (or those of them willing to travel a little further to the west). the full Mediterranean breakfast"

"The service from start to finish was slow and poor. We had to request our drinks, the food was dry and unappetizing. The pasta was heavy, the steak didn't resemble steak, and the egg on the schnitzel was overcooked and tough. When we asked the waiter to clean the table after our main course, he mistakenly sprayed it with detergent, getting some on us. The desserts were average at best. Despite arriving at 6:30 PM to an empty restaurant, the food quality and service were extremely disappointing. We had assumed the restaurant would remain open until midnight as stated on their website, but the staff informed us that they typically closed around 8 PM when business slowed. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant."

"My wife and I went to CAU Wilmslow on our first date since the birth of our first child this week. Everything was great until we had to leave after about 1 hour. I asked for our food to take home in boxes and when the man returned with the food he gave us a bottle of wine on the house and was sorry we had to rush off. We were surprised and delighted with this level of customer service it was such a kind and genuine gesture. We will definitely return when Sofia is a little older."

"I usually don't write reviews, but I feel the need to do so now. My husband and I went to Browns on a Friday evening. I anticipated it being crowded and busy, but I did not expect the poor service we received. The evening started off well with our drinks and starter arriving promptly. However, our waitress forgot to place our meal order which resulted in a long wait for our main course. Despite her apology, we waited a considerable amount of time for our food, even watching other tables get served twice before us. The wait for our check was also extended. Our once cheerful and friendly waitress seemed to sense our dissatisfaction, as she disappeared and we waited 15 minutes for our check which she brought with a scowl. The food was decent, but the overall service was lacking."

"Very good cuts, great meal. Coming from the likes of Hawksmoor, Smith and Wollenskys and Goodman in London (and Morton’s in New York last month) to dining at a provincial chain in Reading, I wasn’t expecting much. Miller and Carter Reading were quite poor indeed by comparison so I imagined they set the bar low, that this was the standard of service you get from a typical chain restaurant outside the capital. However I was very wrong indeed Cuts of steak, (up to a sirloin preparation, marinades were very tasty indeed and good quality, the service was first rate and all things considered added up to a very enjoyable occasion. Thanks very much guys One small request, ordering medium well doesn’t usually equate to rare in the middle for me but the cut was so good just to hold it under the flame for a few more seconds seemed like an unnecessary additional request, and I may have misunderstood the Argentinian benchmark. For those used to a more UK centric dining experience, I would suggest a translation of medium well medium rare here, but maybe that was just a one off based on the size of the cut I ordered. Otherwise five stars and hope to be back."

"We booked to go to The Ship for a family get together. From the time we arrived, we were looked after by the whole team and nothing was too much trouble. From giving us extra portions for starters, so we could split them more easily, to giving us a dash of wine we we joked that some cream had been spilt in an empty glass (which it hadn’t! , the service was exemplary. We were able to stay on our table the whole evening and at no point felt rushed. The food was also amazing, and excellent quality. We will definitely be returning and will rave about this place to anyone who will listen!"

"Wasn’t overly impressed. Sweet potato fries and husbands skinny fries both seemed really greasy. Bread for a nibble at for four thin dry slices of bread seemed excessive. As was for small pieces of pork in an overly greasy tampura batter. Steak wasn’t the best I’ve had and came with half a mushroom!! Didn’t have dessert as didn’t want to spend any more!! Wouldn’t come back. Water jug was stainless steel and seemed dirty and water stained."

"I had a great time at this restaurant. My girlfriend thought her steak was overcooked (difficult to judge reliably). The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, giving us space but also knowing when to check on us. I personally thought my food was cooked perfectly, but my friend had a different opinion. Overall, I still enjoyed my experience and can't blame the service at all. However, because of differing opinions, I can't give it a 5-star rating. It's true that you can't please everyone!"

"There for a corporate breakfast first thing so wasnt bothered about any atmosphere. However i had avocado on toast with extra bacon. The avocado was so minimal it almost didnt cover the bread. It came with 1 slice of bacon which was tough. I had to stand up to get attention to order another tea and do the same again to get the bill even though there was only one other table with people in the whole place. So many better places for breakfast."

"the service on a friday night dining at 7.15 was dreadful. Our starter came reasonably promptly but we had to wait 30 minutes for the main. The staff were apologetic when we complained . We felt that there were too few waitresses who were not properly trained. They walked by tables which needed clearing, stopped to sip their drinks at thebar and did not keep a good eye on their customers tables. The bar staff allowed a multitude of dirty glasses to stand on the bar so they then had a huge quantity to wash. so disappointed since Browns are excellent in London. we will definitely not go to the Liverpool Browns again."

"Went for the Jan half price deal. I don’t think I’d go normally because the menu is so expensive, but the food was admittedly very good, couldn’t complain about any of it. Would have preferred if the beers and ciders had the amounts (500ml or 330ml for example) on the menu, as £6.80 for a 330ml bottle of beer is not good value in my opinion. The downside from our dining experience was the service. My girlfriend described it as “terrible service with a smile”, because while everyone was very welcoming and friendly, our servers would frequently forget drink orders and be less than attentive. It seemed like there were a lot of new staff members and that the system was disorganised which would be a management fault rather than the fault of the servers themselves. So all in all, I enjoyed the food, but the service needs improvement."

"Had an outstanding late night Sunday dinner at Dirty Bones Soho. We've been to a couple of Dirty Bones in London this location has provided us with the best service and overall experience. The food was outstanding the over the top burger with mac and cheese, and the pork belly ribs were both incredible (and we cleaned our plates). Our server was on top of everything, and even though we were the last ones in the restaurant that night, never made us feel rushed so that they could close. Have been to this restaurant twice in the last 10 days (of a family holiday in London). And I'm back in the states now missing the restaurant. . ."

"The waiter whose name I forget was incredibly friendly but the food took an age to come and was cold. The sides were mixed up. The waiter tried his best but I felt some of the orders were ready long before others hence the reason some dishes were cold. I asked for fresh hot chips and got piping hot chips in a very short time. It was a family birthday and he made a huge fuss and organised a brownie with a candle. As I say he took great pride in his work and solved problems made by the background staff."

"I treated my father to a birthday dinner here, and it was fantastic! The service was outstanding; they really went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely evening. "The food at this restaurant was decent, falling somewhere between good and bad. The service was hit or miss, ranging from satisfactory to lacking. "I recently celebrated my friend's birthday at this restaurant and had an amazing experience. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and the atmosphere was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. My partner and I shared the roll combo, which was more than enough for us. The lobster roll was delicious and a unique twist on a classic dish. Overall, I have nothing negative to say and would definitely come back. I gave it 4 stars because they cannot accommodate groups larger than 8, which meant our group of 12 had to sit separately."
