"The food is pretty good. We had the buttermilk chicken burger and the chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles was two wedges of waffles and two chicken breasts. Not a massive amount of food, but it was tasty. The ranch sauce is not perfectly authentic, but comes close. The food is all a la carte. Fries don't come with anything. We did order the truffle fries. They were alright. The cheese seemed a bit cheap on top and there was no parmesan. So be prepared for that. Drinks seem pricey, so we just had a coke zero. Music was good. And the rooftop setting at Westgate is always nice. Parking will be expensive if you park there."

"A Sunday lunchtime visit when the restaurant was very busy. However out table was off to the side and relatively quiet. Service was quick and friendly, with staff being understanding about my preference for a starter as my main course. The food arrived in good time and was very good quality, fresh and tasty and well-presented. We chose tempura mushrooms, scallops and fishcakes, followed by some hearty mains, along with gin and tonics. We also selected toe mini pudding with coffee to finish, which is a favourite option for me. Highly recommended dining and a good idea to book well ahead."

"I don't mind paying extra, in fact I would prefer to more for food to ensure the quality is there which I why I was excited to try this place. Upon ordering, very slow service .... the buttermilk chicken burger came and it was cold. Worst than the temperature was the fact it was thigh meat which was grey/pink and tough. I think if you are charging £10 for a chicken burger on its own then you have to use breast and if you are not, then clearly state that. Also if you are serving thigh I would ensure it was hot so it does highlight the cheap meat. Fair play to Mustard as they did take this off the bill as I couldn't eat it but I was just left hungry and disappointed then. Presentation and seasoning is good but service, quality and pre-serving checks need to be improved. From reading all other reviews, I think I could of just ordered the wrong thing and they let some cold food slip out."

"The waiter whose name I forget was incredibly friendly but the food took an age to come and was cold. The sides were mixed up. The waiter tried his best but I felt some of the orders were ready long before others hence the reason some dishes were cold. I asked for fresh hot chips and got piping hot chips in a very short time. It was a family birthday and he made a huge fuss and organised a brownie with a candle. As I say he took great pride in his work and solved problems made by the background staff."

"We are regular diners and The Mitre is our local. We are quite disappointed with our lunch for the following reasons: 1) the service was slow because there was only one server working 2) the server needs to be more careful when serving drinks the teapot was leaking hot water (onto the table) when being poured there was a genuine risk of the water spilling on to one of our laps 3) one of the teapots had an old piece of mint inside they really do need to pay more attention to cleanliness 4) we informed the server of our daughter's allergies and were directed to an online allergen menu (using the QR code). However, all the menu options were not available we had to modify an existing dish from the menu (feels like a waste of time going to the online menu) 5) despite an empty dining area, we still had to wait nearly 20 minutes for our food the manager pointed out that we should expect to wait 20 25 minutes for food 6) we were informed that the food was made from scratch but that is questionable. The club sandwich was well received but the fish and chips was questionable the curry sauce was watery, the batter was soft and the chips tasted like they came from a foodservice company. Overall, we will not be coming back for food only for drinks."

"Attending Browns for a Christmas Dinner with my wife. Tldr: The food was fantastic, but the atmosphere was lacking and the live music timing was moved. We have attended Browns a few times before over the years for different events and decided for it as the Christmas date night for my wife and I. We specifically booked after 7 on a Sunday as we were told that live music would be played after that time and we wanted that ambience (we have been before when piano music was playing). When we got there we found that the live music had ended at 7, so we had booked later for no reason. Instead of the quiet and romantic evening we planned, the venue was very very bright, loud music was playing and although the staff were attentive we felt it lacking. The wine was very expensive for what it was (you expect a 40 quid bottle to be more than 1 year old and not a screw top, at least), and looked, smelled, and tasted like a 7 quid bottle from Tesco. The food was amazing, we had the festive menu and it was splendid. The portion sizes were good too. I would mark it 6/10 for the night we expected. But we may return if loud and bright is needed (like a friends night out meal for example) but definitely not a romantic time."

"I met up with a friend for dinner and drinks at a restaurant she chose for its American food and theme. The entrance is located on the corner of Club Row and Bethnal Green Road. When you walk in past the curtained entrance, you are greeted by a reception desk and a DJ stand playing hip hop music, setting the mood. I was seated at my table while waiting for my friend to arrive. I ordered a mocktail strawberry Daiquiri and a lemonade, and the waitress was friendly. Once my friend arrived, she ordered a Gin and Tonic. The menu was simple, just one page. I ordered the cheeseburger dumplings, Cheesy Truffle fries, and The Mac Daddy burger, while my friend ordered the Mac balls and chicken and waffles. The food was flavorful and delicious. The Cheesy Truffle fries were unexpectedly delicious, earning a rating of 4/5. The Cheeseburger dumplings were rated 3.5/5 and The Mac Daddy burger got a 4/5. My friend rated her Mac balls at 3.5/5 and the chicken and waffles at 4/5. If you're looking for a taste of American NYC-style food and atmosphere in Shoreditch, I recommend stopping by this restaurant. It's worth a visit."

"Wow!! The food was AMAZING. This place would have gotten 5 stars if the service didn't take SO long. It took long to get seated then we had to sit with another party at the same table. Our food took FOREVER to come out but it was surely worth the wait. Best chicken waffles I've had by far!! I eat chicken waffles in each city I visit and I did not expect London to have the best out of all the places in the USA I've been to. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and the portion was good. I just wish that there we a full waffle instead of a half because then I was left with a whole chicken breast and nomore waffles since each chicken breast was so much larger than each waffle. The truffle cheese fries were BOMB I could eat them all day! Seasoned perfectly once again. My husband said this his chicken sandwich was perfect. The pricing wasn't bad either! I think it came up to almost $50 for 2. Overall, this restaurant is mouthwatering good! I can still remember all the flavors so vividly. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in London again!"

"that was my first time here, but I know I want to go back! I went to dinner with some friends on Thursday night and we showed up at 8 o'clock and the place was full. They took our number and we moved over the road to wahaca for a margarita while we waited. we then sat about 20 minutes later. my friend tiva knew about a deal to get us free beer with any meal over £10, so we all decided to try the chateaux steak that is paired with the amber ale, as recommended by our waiter. the steak was amazingly great, beautiful and delicate, with a good tasty char on the outside, but still rarely cooked to perfection. the steak was £15 and is served on a wooden board, looks good, but maybe not as good as a warm plate! we ordered brokkoli and chips to share and both the sauces, chimichurri and the truffle bearna. the broccoli was also slightly carburized, the chips wonderful, crispy and fluffy in the middle. I loved the truffle bearnaise sauce and while the chimichurri is traditional Argentinian accompaniment for steak, the criminal and garlic sauce was a little overpowered and it definitiw lingered! They get their steak from swaledale in yorkshire and it was one of the best steaks I had for a long time. still I want to go back to try some of the other elements on the menu, so is a return definitiw in order!"

"After attending an afternoon show at the theatre on a Sunday near Christmas, we decided to have a meal at this restaurant. The atmosphere was quite lively with several groups of diners, making it somewhat noisy. I ordered the Sunday roast, but regretted my choice as the vegetables tasted old and had likely been sitting out for a while. The beef, however, was delicious. My friend opted for the salmon, which she enjoyed. Our desserts were satisfying. The staff were all friendly and attentive, although the service was slow. Overall, the experience was mixed."

"Pleasant athmosphere, very welcoming staff.... However, food was rather basic although nicely presented on the plate. Not bad, but I will not be ordering again what I had. Service also a bit slow, given that patrons are usually coming for the performance in the evening, so they cannot wait at their leisure."

"I very rarely write negative reviews but these guys are just a complete shambles. Waited half an hour to be seated at a reserved table, surly and inefficient waiting staff with can’t-do attitudes. Highly recommend you avoid spending your time or money here..!"

"We always stop off at this Mizu when going south and have enjoyed the food. On this occasion not the case, I had the combo meal with rice and the meat was so tough and dry like it had been recooked it was just awful the green veg was very soggy. I politely told the lady waitress that the meat was dry and overcooked and she said well this is a new dish and walked off. I have had this dish before and it was never like this. The lady came over to take our payment for our meal and did not even apologize or offer our coffee and coke on the house, I didn't want to kick up a fuss but when a customer complains about the sub standard meal it should be addressed, so Mizu failed in customer service and in this case we will not be going back, mistakes with food happen but not bad customer service."

"Stopped by here for lunch today. It was a beautiful sunny day so we chose a table outside at the front of the hotel. We placed our order at the bar; one steak sandwich, a flatbread wrap with Mediterranean vegetables and two IPA beers. The food quality was ok but the customer service was diabolical. Three young staff were serving customers seated outside and not one of them could raise a smile let alone engage in conversation. Our food was delivered but no cutlery. Our waiter said that cutlery would follow; we were not asked if we required any condiments so I asked for salt/ pepper, mayonnaise and ketchup. A young waitress came back to the table after several minutes and delivered the cutlery, salt/ pepper and mayonnaise but no ketchup. She placed all items in the centre of the table sweeping them off of the tray and saying ‘ here’s your cutlery!’ Quite frankly you would get better service in a back street cafe. I observed other customers being treated similarly. All tables were served with food first and cutlery second. What’s the point of delivering hot food if you cannot eat it straight away? That has to be the fault of management in not training staff to deliver the basic table set ups first ahead of food delivery. All in all a very disappointing experience."

"Great location in Liverpool One Centre. We ate at Browns and shared the belly-busting mixed starter which included asparagus with the most overwhelmingly buttery sauce, pulled pork croquettes and popcorn chicken. I had a big hearty steak pie with a flaky pastry crust with a mulled wine topped with cinnamon sugar on the side. My mum had lamb chops with a little mini shepherds pie to go with it which was a bit of a meat overload, but some people like that, right? The rhubarb ice cream got me really excited but it fell massively short of the mark and was far too sweet and totally missed the sharpness of rhubarb."

"A real hidden/ unknown gem... as a gluten intolerant diner, I get so annoyed when we aren't catered for (half the stuff taken off the plate, but yet still charged the extortionate amount).... NOT here.. I've been a few times now and have thoroughly enjoyed each time. The manager is attentive, friendly and a real character! He takes time and effort to entertain the children, make sure they are catered for so the adults can enjoy their food. The service is great, the food is amazing and if you're a gluten free eater, you have to try this restaurant/ pub.. it's so random as it's literally on a roundabout between east grinstead and Crawley... but 100% worth the trip... id definitely book, though!! Enjoy x"

"Service was indifferent. Was offered water at table. Had to ask for it again. Offered bread to share at the table didn’t realise it was billed at £6.50 Selected wine from list price printed didn’t match what they had on tablet. Was told they’d deduct the difference, but when the bill arrived, it wasn’t. Wine “waiter” just poured the glasses walked away. Fortunately it was fine. The food was good all credit to the kitchen staff on turning out attractive, tasty dishes. The Saxon Mill won’t feature on our list to revisit for a long time."

"We were drawn here by the history of the venue. As Rolling Stones fans, my friend and I wanted to visit the place that their career really took off, as the resident band at what was then the Station Hotel. However, it went from being...somewhere to visit to an unmissable destination. The food was superb and reasonably priced, and the service by the friendly and attentive staff, Rachel and Dani, could not be faulted. As real ale enthusiasts, we were a little disappointed that the only real ale' on offer was the ubiquitous Doombar but my alternative Guinness was delicious. We will definitely return here and I thoroughly recommend anyone in the Richmond to try this delightful place or even make a special trip. You won't regret it."
