"This is the second time we have been disappointed with Saxon mills. We booked a family table of 4 and waited 20 minutes to be seated. There was such a large crowd at around the bar downstairs that people were actually hitting my husbands elbow whilst he was eating. The food took nearly an hour to come out and when it did i couldn’t eat my belly pork as it was so burnt and dry i couldn’t cut it. I know that this is busy season with office parties etc but if you can’t cope with the numbers then limit the number you have and make sure they recieve a quality service which will translate into return customers. We will find a new place to make our regular go to restaurant. So disappointed :"

Lovely setting for a date and great service from the staff who were all friendly and polite. Food is a little pricey for it’s quality but it is still good.

However, a downside was that my potatoes were burnt. Additionally, there was a slight delay in being serviced for dessert, although the staff was apologetic about it.

Positive Absolutely beautiful place and surroundings. Sunday roast was delicious and the trip worth Good Yorkshire pud Has a nice walk through the river to Staff were very friendly and nice food came promptly good dessert Cons My potatoes were sadly burned took a little time to for dessert, although staff was very apologetic

Went there for brunch and it was a great atmosphere. The full English was fairly standard but the Chargrilled Chorizo, Avocado, Spinach And Poached Egg was out of this world. Definitely recommend trying other things on the menu outside the norm. We were also surprised by the lovely dogs that are allowed into the pub which made the experience even more pleasant.

I recently dined at this restaurant for the first time and unfortunately, I do not plan on returning anytime soon. Finding parking was a challenge, and the food was not impressive. We ordered Sunday lunch, but the dishes were barely warm upon arrival. While the beef was decent, the vegetables were undercooked and lacked flavor. They were haphazardly thrown on the plate with the meat, rather than served separately. I opted for the mini dessert and hot drink combo to end my meal, and while the dessert was enjoyable, the hot chocolate was grainy. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant, especially since I had heard positive reviews before my visit.
