"This is a belated review of a visit I had at the beginning of December. Eric Chavot's restaurant in Mayfair is a classy brasserie, but I couldn't help but think that with its relatively simple menu, it wouldn't dare to aspire to a Michelin star in Paris. However, here in London, where French cuisine like this isn't as common, it is truly exceptional! The sourdough bread and butter were heavenly, and for my starter, I chose the scallop ceviche, which was beautifully presented and had a perfect balance of flavors. Other appetizers at our table included the chicken liver parfait with plum and fig chutney, as well as a lovely charcuterie selection. As for the main course, my wife... "I came to this restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday, but unfortunately, we were both disappointed. The concept and decor were impressive, but the execution fell short. The service was slow from the moment we were seated, leaving us waiting long periods without drinks or guidance on what to do next. When we were finally given tasks to complete, we had to wait for ages for the headphones needed to do so, as there were only a couple of sets for all customers to share. Additionally, the "mission" cards were dirty and smudged from previous use. On top of that, when we were on our last cocktail (you are allowed 3 each), mine arrived only 15 minutes before we were told to leave the table, while my boyfriend's did not come at all. Despite prompting the staff 3 times, it was only when a particular staff member (wearing a flat cap) stepped in to help that we were able to get the drink, but by then, we were already asked to vacate the table and had to finish it at the bar upstairs. It might be more efficient in the future to assign specific staff members to a few tables each rather than having them spread thin trying to attend to all customers."

"Terrible experience at L’Orangerie. My friend and I had arrived in Sorrento for the day ready to find a nice place to have a drink and some food, considering it was 33 degrees we thought why not try find a nice pool to swim in as well. We walked past L’Orangerie poolside bar and restaurant and thought that sounded like the perfect place to spend our afternoon. After looking online to see if we needed to book, and seeing many openings for the afternoon we thought we would just walk in and ask as there were many free reservations. Upon arrival a staff member greeted us and we said we would like to have a few drinks by the pool, she said of course do you have a booking, or we said no (as after looking at the website it did not appear necessary, as well as looking around there were many free sun beds available) she said no worries I will check with my colleague. She turned her head for one second before then saying I am sorry we are so busy today. We were carrying backpacks as we had packed and brought a spare change of clothes as we expected to go to the beach, but upon arrival decided if we could find a pool that would be a better option. Dressed neatly in a linen skirt and singlet, whilst admittedly a little bit sweaty and flustered from the extremely hot weather I found the service extremely rude and conceited as they clearly had decided we were not good enough to be let in. My friend and I would have enjoyed more than a few drinks as we planned to stay in sorrento until a cooking class we had booked later that night. Would not return."

"We have been before and it was brilliant. However this is the last time I will be eating there again. The waitress was very rude and dismissive the whole time we were there. We ordered the T-bone to share and weren 't given the opportunity to tell them how we prefer it to be cooked. The steak then came blue massively underdone to our liking. This is not to say it wasn 't a top quality cut of meat because it assuredly was. However I was not willing to pay £95 for a steak that wasn 't cooked to my liking. After a rather long wait for the waitress to come back and ask how our meals were I ended up having to get up and go to see the manager to tell him I was unhappy with the meal and also the service, to which he replied, I 've been down to check on you 2ce and you never mentioned it then, what 's wrong with it now ? After which I told him he hadn 't been to check on us, as we had only just received our meal and that the waitress has been abrupt and rude all evening and that she hadn 't even asked how we would like our steak cooking before she disappeared off in a hurry. The waitress then joins the conversation from over his shoulder and said, I did ask and you said medium rare , which I wouldn 't have said as I prefer medium for that cut of steak and more to the point even if i did ask for medium rare the steak was blue! The managers response to this was to tell me to just pay for the drinks and not the steak. Rather than rectifying the steak and the service problem. After realizing I wasn 't willing to finish my drink but more than happy to pay for it he told me it 's fine and to just go. Safe to say it spoilt our evening. We drove an hour that night to enjoy a nice steak but went home hungry with a bitter taste in our mouths."

"The welcome was good the service average. The bread served which is not complimentary, was too hard and not served warm. The Calamari was tasty and the mains portion of Chicken plentiful. One of the mains out of 3 was brought to the table half way through starter. We waited a long time to order our dessert. 80% of the staff seemed to be more wrapped up in flirting and joking with each other rather than seeming attentive to customers. It was not rush hour dinner service at this point so perhaps they wanted to have fun before the rush! Although it was very obvious the 20% of staff did not want to be tarnished with the same brush unfortunately couldn’t carry off an overall good service. I would not return here for dinner, but would come back for an unplanned lunch! Thank you."

"the service could not have been better in this beautiful, family-friendly restaurant in the middle style. because I am GF/CF, the waiting staff worked with me to find what I would be interested in and that they could put. there was a decent choice and eating was tasteful. my family also enjoyed their meals. unfortunately the only gloomy article, the GF/CF was lemon sorbet, but if they are only limited by gluten, then they have a lot more possibilities that looked rather delectable."

"eating is well overpriced almost 20 for a small pasta with almost every prawn on it, I mean it was maybe a prawn and was very fast finished, a steak that is tiny and they serve it in pieces cut so they can not see the size, but is very small. and they need to order chips on the side, what makes it a 30 pound dress as. the.steai was 23 and the steak was too small. the condition of the toilets is also very bad, I would avoid it. the online menu and the menu in the restaurant menu and the online menu were not the same, so no repetition for me."

"In London for the week and enjoyed some especially wonderful meals all around. Le Boudin Blanc yielded mixed experience. Loved the ambience of the restaurant. Very pretty. Cozy. The food and wine was very good. It is not often that one finds Boudin Blanc on a menu, certainly not be on the spring time, and it was a pleasant surprise.. The meal and the presentation was very very nice. My only suggestion would be just a hint more sauce for the Boudin Blanc. Staff was a different animal all together, unfortunately. I arrived for a very early dining reservation – – I was the first one – – only to be met with a warning that they would need the table back by a certain hour – – instead of a welcome, in an empty restaurant. This is not the kind of restaurant where a single diner would otherwise linger with a coffee and an iPad. Service was very attentive until after dessert. And then, I couldn’t get anyone’s attention to bring me either another glass of wine, a coffee, or even the Bill. The sommelier finally came to take care of it. By the time I left, the first floor of the restaurant was only about half full, approximately 10 tables were occupied, With a staff of five, one sommelier, two servers, a busser, someone who looked like the manager, and a female staff member with a long dark braid whose only duty seem to be walking around the floor and doing absolutely nothing. I would have enjoyed a difestif."

"We make it a point to stay here once a year for a special occasion. We always book the best suite and indulge in the complete tasting menu with wine pairings. While it's not the cheapest option, it certainly feels worth every penny. The staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about every aspect of the experience. The menu focuses on local products, and they rely on their own gardens whenever possible. If you're looking for a fantastic evening with exquisite food, make sure to enjoy some excellent wines and cheeses while you're here. This place is hands down the best I've ever visited, even compared to places like Singapore and Monaco. Having such an establishment right at your doorstep is truly remarkable."

"Had two excellent meals at this restaurant in the heart of Oxford. The welcome and service we received from Sam and his staff was terrific the extent that we decided to have another evening there for our last of three nights in Oxford. We reserved a table for 7-30 but arrived to find the restaurant packed as many were eating prior to going to the theatre. In spite of the crowds Sam spotted us as soon as we walked through the door and led us to our table. (the only one vacant) The service was exemplary, professional and very friendly, even though we had not been served by the same waiter the young lady from the first night made a point of coming and saying hello once the theatre crowds had left. The food was of an equally high standard and served timely in spite of the restaurant being so busy. Sam came when we asked for the bill and chatted to us and the bill was very reasonable. I would point out that we never left a tip as there was a 10% service charge less than other restaurants in Oxford. I rarely write reviews on restaurants but our visits to this restaurant were exceptional."

"We went to Macellaio RC at Fitzrovia few days ago which I think it was Big mistake! I have been to Macellaio RC at South Kensington and Union Street many times and I love it, especially the South Kensington branch! Great atmosphere, amazing food and reasonable priced. Tried many of their starter, steaks and wine, they are always good. Unfortunately, our experience at the Fitzrovia branch was awful! I was so looking forward to it before going but after our starter, I was so disappointed and didn't even want to finish our meal there. Firstly, it was our mistake to order two glasses of House Red Wine which normally we would have ordered a decent bottle of wine. We were thinking to start with the house wine and order a nicer bottle for the meal, since the house wine was in their happy hour 2-4-1 offer. The House Red was absolutely disgusting, it was worse than cheap pub wine! We don't expect House wine to be good but as a restaurant famous for their steaks, I thought the house wine will be at least drinkable. After a tiny sip to try it we didn't touch the wine for the whole evening. Then our starter came, L'imperiale was the reason I wanted to go to Macellaio that evening. I was so disappointed and sad when I saw it, not only its at least 1/3 smaller than the one at South Kensington but also the quality of the meat was really not good. The tartare and capaccio were so dull, they looked more grey than red. I was so disappointed that I didn't even want our main course but since we have already ordered, we stayed too finish our meal. I was hoping the T-bone would at least make it worthwhile for us to spend our evening there. However, another big disappointment! They put so much salt on the steak that every bite was full of rock salt even though I tried to scrapped aside as much as possible. So we definitely will not go to the Fitzrovia branch again. I would still recommend the South Kensington and Union Street Macellaio RC though."

"The restaurant is a well-known English steak and seafood establishment with a fantastic menu and exceptional staff. The food was delicious and served promptly. Our server, Joseph, was professional and attentive. The only downside was that some of the leather seat cushions were in need of repair, which detracted from the overall elegant atmosphere. Despite this, I would definitely return and perhaps suggest investing in new seat cushions for an even better dining experience."

"The service at this restaurant was incredibly pleasant and attentive, with a very nice atmosphere. However, there were some errors in the timing of the courses, as we received our entrees along with our appetizers despite specific instructions. The octopus was delicious with bold flavors, but the other dishes were disappointing. The gnocchi was bland, the steak tartare was too tomato-heavy, and the lobster and crab tortellini had a thick, fishy filling. The salmon was overcooked, and the halibut was overwhelmed by the mushroom sauce. The souffle cakes were hard, with a berry puree in the middle. It seems that our experience was not typical, as other recent reviews have praised the same dishes."

"My partner and I went to this restaurant for the first time. The ambiance was nice, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. However, we were disappointed with the food quality. We hope to see an improvement in both the food and overall dining experience. The prices charged should be reflective of the quality of the food."

"I have dined at the King's Head for over 40 years on many special occasions. And oftentimes, just because I want to enjoy a decent meal out in a restaurant that delivers exceptional food so hard to find outside London. The Aylesbury Duck for two...is a must but should be requested when booking to avoid disappointment. Georges de Maison and his team do an outstanding job and have adapted the restaurant and menu to accommodate changing times and tastes. The King's Head is about quintessential fine dining, and my only surprise is that not all guests dress for the occasion these days. This is a pity as turning up in jeans and a t-shirt at such a wonderful venue would only make one feel out of place! If you have not visited, I would recommend the King's Head restaurant most highly."

"The table, service and food were all fantastic. We were in a rush so just ordered mains. I had the hanger steak and it was amazing. The flavour was incredible. My partner had the rump steak and a side of potatoes. The steak was melt in the mouth and a decent sized side. Would definitely recommend."

"Lovely food with great service, worth calling if like myself your vegan, for some reason or other they don’t show any vegan options on their menu although they do provide this and the food is lovely, our 4 friends who were supposed to be coming actually booked in elsewhere as they were unaware this was available."

"The starters were fine and per usual for Cote. We also ordered two fillet steaks a minute steak and a chicken Palladian salad. One of the fillet steaks came over cooked and the minute steak was too overly salty. Sent both these back. The minute steak on its return was still too salty, but what to do? The fillet was cooked to order this time but my daughter did not enjoy the taste. My chicken salad was supposed to have a tarragon dressing, the reason why I ordered, this was not my first time with this salad, I’ve had it before and knew it’s taste. This salad tasted different at first I thought I had ordered wrong and kept eating but towards the end OE as sure it should have a distinct tarragon flavour. I thought something was amiss until I realized the tarragon was just not there. When I questioned, the manger went and got the dressing from the chef and said this is the dressing we put on the salad. I am pretty sure in the past this salad had a more creamier tarragon flavour, where the dressing was emulsified. But this dressing he showed me was nothing like that. It also didn’t taste of tarragon. But he insisted that it was tarragon. I should have asked him to taste it, or another client to confirm the taste, but to me it was absolutely flavourless."

"we met the chef jai parkinson when he worked at wright brothers, so we were thrilled to experience his new venture at orange elephant. we have booked via open table for a Monday evening and so came a 50% discount offer on the exchange boards. we started with the burrata, which was beautifully presented and came with some perfectly roasted cherry tomatoes on the wine vine. we had also prepared the cortex croquettes perfectly with an intense fleshy taste. for a main thing, we shared the Tomahawk board. the 1.2 kg share was plentiful for both of us, as it also split with a small salate and two small portions of fries. a beautiful bottle malbec was the perfect companion. the board was beautifully presented and the steak perfectly cooked to our warm red preference. we like a steak with some texture so that the tomahawk was a good choice. beautiful chewing gum, perfect seaman and great taste. ricardo had looked after us all night very well and made us a delicious coffee to finish a really wonderful culinary experience. Thank you. jai ricardo"
