A delightful combination of tender grilled steak and succulent seafood, perfectly seasoned and served with a choice of sides.

"I came across Chez Jules in an article and decided to visit today with my sister and mom. We traveled from Northeast England and it was definitely worth the trip. We enjoyed a lovely baguette with dressed salad leaves, olives, and delicious cured meats (even though I'm usually not a fan). This was served while we were deciding on our meals. We opted for the lunch special and it was amazing. The French onion soup was light yet decadent, the mussels were delicious, and the vanilla panna cotta was simply delightful. With a large bottle of wine, two soft drinks, the bill came to under £60, which was excellent value. The restaurant was quite busy, so I would recommend making a reservation. The atmosphere was great."

"Enjoyed a dinner for two last Saturday night. There was a good number of tables serving couples and small groups and then one large table of or so. Good atmosphere, lovely decor. Starter and mains were slow coming but myself and hubby were not in any rush so this was not a complaint for us. Food was very tasty for starters we the ham hock with nice pickled veg and the ribs which were a very generous size. Mains then fillet steak surf turf and ribeye steak, both cooked as ordered and we found the sides of fries and veg good. Dessert then we shared the triple chocolate gateaux which was delicious. Overall very good meal"

Staff friendly and helpful breakfast good and breakfast room itself very pleasant nicely decorated nicest room in building .Meal on evening had sharing sea food platter nice and plenty of it also 10per cent off as we were hotel guests. Dog friendly but paid highest cost here for our two dogs than anywhere we have stayed on our holiday. The beer garden definitely needs a good tidy up grass needed cutting shrubs needed trimmingpaving and tables and seating all could have done with a good clean it was just us that thought that could hear a lot of the same comments from other people shame as could be really nice. "Booked here as there were early evening slots and the reviews were fabulous. Cannot understand how this cafe is rated better than the nearby Plough. Tatty Bunting is a completely different type of eatery. Staff were really lovely and the location was fine BUT the food was only average probably absolutely fine if you are looking for a local cafe but not if you are looking for fine dining. I hasten to add my expectations were raised by the open table reviews I do not feel I was misled by the cafe at all."

"This restaurant is fantastic. I went with a close friend who loves meat, and even he was overwhelmed by the generous portion sizes on the platter. We had enough leftovers for another meal the following day. The food was delicious with a wide variety to choose from, and the owner was attentive to our needs. I highly recommend this place to anyone willing to spend around £15 per person for a large and tasty meal."

"I had the scallops as a starter and was perfect. Unfortunately my mum had the pork starter and it was just a huge piece of pork in a bowl (the same size as the main pork, which I've had before), she said it tasted lovely...but Was just a huge hunk of meat which was too much for a starter. My mum had a main of rump steak and chips and it was really lovely and good quality steak as I tasted it. I had the main of duck was superb and probably the best I've ever had, my only fault was there were a few too many kumquat. Also the sides were all perfectly cooked and the right portion. Unfortunately the desserts were a bit of a let down, my mum said the sticky toffee pud was OK but the Palova that I had was poor despite looking great and the merangs seemed like they had just been taken from a packet and I couldn't eat it. Service was good wihh friendly professional staff. Overall though worth it for the starter and main."

"good place before eating, but the choice of happy hour cocktails is really limited and we ended up a few bottles of wine! don't think they have choices! I had also mentioned that it was the 50th birthday of my friend, but there was no mention of it during the time we were there."

"Went here to celebrate a couple of friends birthdays and had a very mixed evening. It was a Monday night so it was quiet and we were one of only a handful of tables. We were a party of four and there were no tables any larger than ours in that evening. We were seated quickly and that was about the one and only thing that happened all night with any kind of urgency. Our orders were taken and we were waiting 20 minutes or more for our first round of drinks. About half way through this, we were informed that three of the four meals we had ordered were sold out (something you'd think we'd have been informed of at the time of ordering . We thought we could quench our thirst with some water whilst waiting for our drinks but sadly no one ever came over to refill our glasses. When the food finally arrived it was delicious and I couldn't fault it at all (even if it wasn't my first choice on the menu! , so that made up for lack of service. We ordered a dessert each although only 3 of them arrived. My friend had to ask for her coffee which also didn't have any signs of showing and then when her dessert didn't show she just gave up on it (it was never put through the system . I ordered a glass of red wine, specifying the wine and was given a glass of what I assume was house red at least I wasn't mis charged for it as it was cheaper than the one I ordered! Even paying the bill was an ordeal, taking us a while to get it and then having to go through line by line to see if any of the food we ordered and didn't get hadn't been taken off (there was one additional meal on the bill . All in all a bit of a shambles but at least the delicious food and the wonderful company meant it didn't dampen our evening too much. Don't think I'd come back on a quiet night again, seems the service staff take it as a sign to disappear."

"The people of Campsea Ash are lucky to have a local pub like The Duck! Excellent place for Sunday lunch. Roast Beef served rare, with a great selection of vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Mixed meat roast and nut roast available. Traditional desserts, including brioche bread and butter pudding, rice pudding, and crumble. Good espresso! Dog friendly as well. Price per person: £20–30"

"Family meal for 3 Adults and two teenagers on a busy Friday night. Had not visited the Ox for about two years. Considerable amount of development since then. Menu catered well for two 'picky teenagers ' and three more adventurous adults, all agreed that it was the best meal out they had had for a long while. Prices are not cheap but the standard and menu choice was well up to the prices charged."

"I highly recommend this place. I went for a meal with my husband here last night. We both had a starter, pate for my husband and stuffed peppers for me. They were both faultless. My husband said it was the best pate he had tasted and my peppers were delicious they were both accompanied by a tomato chutney which was also delicious. My husband had the steak for his main and I had scampi. The portions were really generous and every element of the meals were excellent. Don Paddys is a really friendly venue with great staff. They allow dogs in which I think is a great idea. I have been here at lunch time and also in the evenings just for a drink and have enjoyed evey occasion. It is a gem of a place to eat and drink."
"excellent sunday roast, tasteful and fast and hot arrived! the child's share of the roast was very generous. great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive and supplied the children with colour packages, which was very helpful! they were really understanding and excellent to deliver an replacement for one of our meal times, as one of our party had an allergy. in any case would recommend and will return."

"Experience was good, server was accommodating and restaurant honoured requests to accommodate mobility issues. The length of time between courses was quite lengthy. Food was good, but apart from a couple of crackers on the table (considering it was a festive menu) it wasn’t very festive at all. Parking: Decent amount of parking, although you might struggle if it’s busy. Must remember to add number plate to the device inside the restaurant to avoid a fine."

"NO REGRETS! I was greeted by the warm front of house team upon arrival and swiftly guided to my table. The waiter serving me was kind and courteous, ensuring that my needs were fulfilled in timely fashion. The decor, layout and ambience were pleasing to the eye and led to a pleasant dining experience. Onto the more important bits (for me anyway)....the food was simply AMAZING. I opted for the mixed grill, the chicken tikka karahi as well as cheese naan and fries. The fragrances were mesmerising and the presentation, great. I was pleased with the flavours and the food was undoubtedly cooked with love and expertise. The serving sizes were generous and filling too. The star of the show was the lamb chops. I found myself wanting to lick the bones. Such was the flavour profile and quality of meat. And if I was in the privacy of my home, I would have done just that hahah. My Dhabba Coventry is definitely a solid addition to my list of regulars for a good night out. A big thank you to Noor and Masood for their kindness, generosity and hospitality. Truly appreciated, Khurram"

"Highly recommend The Ship. My Husband and I haven't been to the restaurant in awhile and we were happy we tried it again. We dined at the restaurant after attending a wake on Tuesday night and were shocked at the inexpensive prices for dinner for 2 it included a bottle of wine, salad, entrée and dessert all for $40.00. More importantly, the food was very good and we plan to dine there in the future."

"We'd been to the Boars Head once before for a light lunch, which had been fine, but this time we brought the family for a proper Sunday lunch. The restaurant and bar were very busy, but we were given a friendly welcome and service throughout was unflustered, unobtrusive, prompt and excellent. Altogether, we had three different starters, six different adult main courses and five different desserts and every item on every plate was superb well cooked, well presented and delicious. This is definitely our new favourite restaurant and I can't wait to go back."

"The restaurant has a charming ambiance and is aesthetically pleasing. The food was decent/good, but the service was lacking. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes to receive our food, and we had to ask three times for water before it was brought to us. It seemed like there were not enough staff members, as more and more customers kept coming in. Several groups of people had to wait for extended periods of time. The establishment should consider limiting the number of patrons if the staff is struggling to keep up with the demand."
