"We made a reservation through OpenTable, which was confirmed. The day before our booking, we received an email asking us to confirm again, which we did. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were told that there was no reservation under our name. Despite showing them the booking reference and the two confirmations on my phone, we were still not able to get a table. It was a Christmas treat for us and we had traveled a long distance, so it was disappointing not to be able to dine at the restaurant."

"that was my first time in the city souvlaki and definitiw the last thing that is a scandal, because eating was nice, we couldn't blame it. I wish that could be said about the waitress. Every time she came to our table, she rolled her eyes and she saw it to other guests too, but not the ones that she knew we were creeping. I am a Greek cypriot, but I shouldn't flicker to get good service. a good service should be given to everyone, regardless of where they come from."

"we were last Friday for a family dinner. Unfortunately there was a series of current cuts in the opposite, which broke out most of the nearby companies, but somehow the highland continued to wear! eating was nice and served with good humor from the personal under very difficult conditions. we even got a bottle of wine when we were gone! highly recommended for eating, service and value, but light at ambiente."

"We ordered the set menu and food was nice but had to repeatedly remind the staff about the dessert and coffee, which was included to it. We also needed to repeatedly ask for extra cutlery and plates, in order to avoid sharing food from salads, meat platter etc. given the 'new normal ' situation. Nice atmosphere, although the place was a bit too noisy upstairs, mainly from the kitchen area."

"Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and offered a spot on their lovely outside terrace, which was perfect given the warm evening. Our waiter was prompt and took our drink orders right away, ensuring they arrived in no time. With impressive knowledge of the menu, he quickly provided us with his recommendations. We chose the Meat mezze for two, and the food was truly exceptional. From the selection of pita and dips to the beef stifado and moussaka, each course was even better than the last. For dessert, we indulged in traditional baklava and enjoyed a Greek coffee, which was the perfect finale. Overall, our experience at Taverna was fantastic, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. It's a must-visit place when you find yourself in Harrogate!"

"Having lived in London 33 years, I knew this restaurant existed, always wanted to visit, now I regret not coming sooner. There are thousands of trendy, go to places in this city, most are all style over substance. This place gives a you a warm Cypriot/Greek hug, rarely found these days. No frills or fanciness, they know what they are doing and do it well. It is like stepping back in time but that is not a bad thing.It makes you feel like and old friend you met in a taverna in Ayia Napa. The food is as Greek/Cypriot as you can get. Generous, well cooked and delicious. The Dolmades are divine but the Kleftiko is the star, a very slow cooked large piece of lamb cooked till it completely falls off the bone.Rice is cooked in stock with tiny slivers of pasta. To be honest it is all of a very high standard.The prices are extremely reasonable. This is not art on a plate. You will need a hefty appetite, leaving full, satisfied with a warm glow, The music will stay in your head and adds to the atmosphere. I brought a friend for his birthday on Thursday lunch, decided to return yesterday with another friend, both loved it.The staff are welcoming, lovely and a joy. This place is just what it says on the tin. If any one criticizes they have never eaten great food in a Greek/Cypriot restaurant before.."

"I decided to try the number one voted fish and chips in the area while visiting the UK. I highly recommend the fish and chips, the portion size of the fish they give you is impressive. I was with a vegan eater and the restaurant was able to accommodate them with a veggie burger and chips. While speaking with the staff, they suggested I try the seafood soup, which was delicious. The fish artwork on the walls was interesting to look at while waiting for our food. The restroom was clean and well-maintained, the only downside was that it was located upstairs, but this shouldn't be an issue for most people."

"Had a lovely meal here the food was excellent and can thoroughly recommend the sea bass cooked to perfection. First time we had visited and certainly won’t be the last. The owners were delightful very friendly and warm. The staff were rushed off their feet as it was a busy night but the delay in getting food was very welcome as the portion sizes were extremely generous so we had no complaints with this as were not in any hurry."

"Managed to book a table for two last minute and now I understand why this place is so busy! Best meal out I have had in a long time. Food was perfect and incredibly priced, we had it with a bottle of Greek red wine which was perfect. Staff were friendly and attentive and helped me in my choice of food as I have a few allergies. Food came out incredibly quick. The lamb chops were to die for. Highly recommend and I hope to visit Andy's Taverna soon again."

"a warm, friendly welcome and a warm, traditional Greek restaurant with some of the most beautiful homemade foods I had! Even after eating the massive meze between us 3 we left us satisfied but not hard. and the price is criminally low for such amazing food. make sure to tap these youngs well with what they save as it is worth! the kalamari was crispy and light, instead of chewing. the dives were fresh as if they were handmade this morning. the lame fell from the bone. they offer meat round and the halloumi was really not gumy. even the wee was beautiful. five stars of all of us!"

"Today I went to @georgesfishbar In #southwoodford which isn’t just your usual fish and chip bar, they also serve the yummiest Greek Cypriot food too George’s was established in 2006 has since won so many different awards for their food- which you can view on their website. On arrival I was greeted by the owner himself George who made me feel so welcome. The shop was very busy with queues out of the door but After trying their food I could sure see why ! Tonight I had their chicken Gyros, Chips, Halloumi, Greek Salad, Cod, my parents had a chicken souvlakia each. All of the food was just so delicious !! The gyros was the best I’ve ever had. The meat was ever so fresh and tender and the actual gyros in pitta was bursting with so much flavour. The chips were the best I’ve ever had too and my parents also agreed. They had a gorgeous sweet taste to them and were cooked to pure perfection and trust me it’s definitely possible to mess chips up. The chips were also lovely thick just how I love them to be. The chicken souvlakia was also gorgeous the chicken was very tender there was plenty of it as was there plenty of salad. The fish was also delicious extremely meaty and more fish than batter which is what I love as usually most fish bars tend to give you mainly batter and hardly any fish!! All of @georgesfishbar food is 10/10 from me and extremely high quality as well as huge portions. You can definitely see how much love and effort goes into their food that all of the ingredients used are of the highest quality. The fish bar itself is also spotlessly clean and covid safe. I definitely recommend everyone to try @georgesfishbar whether it’s for just fish and chips or Greek Cypriot food or both. You won’t be disappointed ! @georgesfishbar is currently undergoing Renovation but will be open fully very soon when restaurants are allowed to reopen for seating inside. "Having booked a table for 3 a week before during the government eat out scheme, we arrived at the restaurant sharp 6.30 pm as per the booking. We were asked to wait outside and it had started raining.I was asked for the name and booking details. The staff brought the book and could not find our booking so went to ask the owner. The owner came with the book and told us someone called and cancelled our booking and she could not do anything about it. We tried to say why would we do that and she was not willing to listen. The restaurant may have cheekily cancelled our booking if they had shortage of tables. Never again shall we go there. Worst customer service.."
