"After frequently visiting this Denny's over the years, we were excited to go in today after going to Plantasia but it was really disappointing. The staff just about looked up as we seated ourselves, and glanced up as we found and retrieved our own high chair. I had to find and interrupt two members of staff chatting to request an allergen list. Luckily, we knew about online ordering as, apart from our food silently being dropped to our table, the service was nonexistent. We had to find and take cutlery from another table as our cutlery pot hadn't been replenished. The orange juice we usually order every time has been replaced by a cheap, definitely from-concentrate version but remains the same price. The rest of the food was nice enough, portions large as usual. We ate to multiple Taylor Swift songs, and the sound of two members of staff laughing and flirting with each other on the other side of the restaurant. No one checked if our food was okay or if we needed anything. When we left, the staff made the effort of speaking to us for the first time to thank us on the way out. This is the second disappointing visit we've had in the past year, and sadly makes us not want to return any time soon."

"stylish, modern decor sets the ton for this wise over average pizza restaurant. the plant-based options are marked and plentiful. I had the cajun kartoffelts that were crispy with a beautifully spiced cajun mayo. the jackfruit pfefferoni pizza had a light, thin basic cooked to perfection. the vegan cheese was very good with sweet overtones. the paprika was delicious and a few more pieces would have been welcome. the koleslaw was dirty, thick with mayo and crispy textures. the vegan chocolate brownie was more cake than brownie, but still tasteful and good with the vegan vanilla ice cream. there is also a good selection of beer snoop. it would be good to see how those who are labeled as vegan to save any on the internet. I went for a mango-circle that was very sweet, but quite drinkable, especially when he was chilled with ice. very nice environment of old winchester around the restaurant, recommended."

"The burgers were fantastic, especially the lamburgini. I really enjoyed the unique addition of feta cheese and cucumbers. The wait for a table was 20 minutes, but considering it's a small restaurant, it was understandable."

"I am here at the flyer tonight with my friends and ordered 2 thatchers haze’s on the app to table 56. I waited an hour until I went inside to ask where my drinks were and to be confronted to say my drinks “hadn’t gone through”. The money hap come out my account for £10 for 2 pints and was told with rudeness there was nothing they could do. I’ve wasted £10 on 2 drinks I didn’t get! I’m really not happy at all, and will not be coming back!"

"I came here a while ago, and I thought Katie was good. That's when I met Jorge, more like Jore-yay! It was incredible, made Aphrodite feel poor. It was like a Greek Hercules, striding muscularly down the steps to serve us. Never did I think Katie would be outmatched, how wrong was I?!! Very. Jorge served us like Federer at Wimbledon. Unbelievable. It was game, set and match, championship point. Katie Creed, learn some lessons!!!! Boo Kooks, merci boo kooks, an orgasm of the mouth, I can't thank you enough. Phenomenal. "Had a day off from work so had a trip over to media city fancied something to eat drink and their it was the place that I was going to have my lunch in . The Dockyard . As an Industrial feel to it with an old school look when it comes to the the chairs wooden tools .this is a great place very spacious inside but also outside in them summer months just people watching or if your lucky the odd celebrity walking by the prices are not bad remember you are in media city so expect to pay about 5 pound for a drink. I did have a bite to eat and opted for the Dockyard Club bit like a BLT you get it with fries .But have to say I was disappointed . I paid 11 pound for my lunch but I found it had very little taste and the biggest disappointment was the cheap bread they used Try Warburtos . Bit of a let down when the meal was nothing special needs work . but over all the staff are friendly and welcoming and it's in a great location with a good choice of drinks. will I go back absolutely for drinks not for the food sadly. but I had a great Afternoon its a wonderful place to stop At . Thanks to the staff for being so welcoming."

"We visited Bear in Stone last Wednesday for lunch, not a good experience at all ! We sat outside and I went in to order our meals I ordered two soft drinks, an Angry Mac with tots and a Miso Caesar Salad. I checked to confirm the salad had no Parmesan cheese on I don 't like cheese the response was I don 't think it has why are you asking are you allergic to cheese? We had waited 35 mins and I was about to go inside when a waitress came out to ask who is having the salad ? We 've ran out of eggs ! Do you want anything else on top ? I said no just the salad please a few minutes later the food arrived the angry Mac was fine but my salad was in a hot bowl ! So hot I could not touch it ! I said to the waitress the bowl is hot with salad in and she said it 's just been under the warmer I said no it 's really hot I can barely touch it please can I have another salad in a cold bowl, after a lot of discussion she went back inside not happy to get me a other salad it came out 5 mins later there was literally just a tiny amount of shredded lettuce barely covering the bottom of the bowl, a tiny bit of dressing and three tiny chicken skewers no cucumber and no peanut sesame crunch and no egg !! I have E mailed bear stone direct and heard nothing back and also another E mail address for general enquiries and heard nothing from them either !! I have put a review on Google with no response all I want is acknowledgment of this disaster but nearly 2 weeks later nothing !!! Really disappointed"

"The restaurant has an absolutely amazing atmosphere, food, and service! It reminds me of the great foody pubs from the past. Simply wonderful! I really hope they never change. It's perfect for couples, families, friends, anyone really! The pizza is fantastic! The staff are incredible - friendly, kind, and professional. Overall, a wonderful experience! "The room we were moved to seemed like it hadn't been decorated, giving off a shabby and almost derelict vibe. The waitress seemed unsure about a sauce that was featured on many items on the menu, including my girlfriend's burger. The burger arrived as a sloppy mess on a plate, lacking any garnish and with chips being an extra cost. My girlfriend only ate half of it as it was overly saturated with sauce, leaving no distinct flavor. I ordered chicken wings which were served on a saucer and drowned in too much sauce, with no garnish and lacking any flavor. It was clear that no effort or pride was put into the presentation or taste of the dishes. While I understand that most items are deep fried, they should at least be appetizing. The pub only offered Red Stripe lager on tap, with no bottled beer options. Overall, our experience was disappointing in every aspect, and we have no plans to return to this establishment."

"We were part of a far larger group booked in for the adjacent function room on a Saturday evening. Assembling early ourselves and another couple booked a table to eat before the proceedings... well, oh my days 4 completely different dishes all arrived together, with a side and everything was cooked to perfection. We really did have service with a smile, and that was from all the staff who obviously enjoyed their work. I cannot recommend this place highly enough we're a tough crowd at the best of times and we arrived hungry!"

"I 've been coming here for 20+ years and it 's sadly getting worse after improving post Covid-19. I visited recently mid-afternoon on a Thursday. A Canadian pub with no hockey on at least a couple of it 's many screens is just bizarre! When I asked the barman he said that none is on Well c3pm UK is 10am ET so obviously none will be on! Historically they recorded loads of stuff and would put something on rather than every TV with cricket and the 1 match too! I had a bottle of Canadian and a pint of Sleemans which is the only thing Canadian. I visit Toronto and other oarts of East Canada a lot and this doesn 't resemble a little piece of Canada that much at the moment. As I say I 've been coming here for years and it 's gradually morphed into a regular UK pub with lots of screens. Very disappointing. Hopefully they 'll make an effort to be something Canadian and get back to how it used to be "

"amazing eating, friendly staff and very inexpensive. the red basket food offers are very valuable and the children's menu is just the right size and the right price. children also get an egg with beats for £1! the milkshakes are amazing, just the right thick and not too sweet. the fricken (fried pickles) were a little disappointing, but we expected a whole gherkin and not discs so that most of this is on us. I would definitely recommend going here. it can wait for a table, but they can also collect order here, so no apologies to not get the food."

"As everything shuts early on Sunday nights (same for Mondays) we came for an early dinner. I hadn’t had lunch too long ago so I decided to have two sides, the shrimp and cheese dippers. My partner had a bbq stack burger with chips. The shrimp and cheese dippers were nice and I liked the sauces. They didn’t have milkshakes and we wanted a sundae but they were out of ice cream which was disappointing. It was quite pricey but maybe other places are cheap. "I have been quite reluctant to write this but its been bugging me all week. Me and my friend came here for drinks on Saturday we had a table booked in the evening. Upon greeting we was told we could not bring drinks from downstairs (cain and grain) to upstairs which was fine so i went back downstairs to take the drinks back when a staff member at the desk at the bottom told me who ever told you that is talking rubbish and then he escorted me back upstairs with the drinks and spoke to someone then everything was fine we was seated and given menus. A male came over he was slim build and had a tash/beard we asked some advice on some of the cocktails he was very impatient gave no advice and he had a really bad attitude and told us the description is in the cocktails, my friend asked for 5mins to decide as he dosnt handle pressure like that. 5mins goes by guy comes back i order us both same cocktails. Cocktails arrive we cheers then the guy who serves us comes back with the bill on the table which we are confused as we didnt ask so i took the bill to him asked him why he got the bill his response was and i quote “im finding you both difficult to serve and quite frankly i do not like the look of you” i was in shock so i asked to see the manager straight away i told her the story she went in the back to talk to him or someone and came back out and said we have to leave as he feels uncomfortable now. Honestly never in my life have i felt so embarrassed and in shock how a premises like this can treat customers. Looking back through the reviews of this place it seems a common pattern of rude staff which is a shame as it seems a cool little place to drink. Let me know when under new management or you hire some staff who have a slight interest in the customers needs il give it another shot until then i highly advise people stay away and i do not recommend, however i do recommend cain and grain."
