"I have been quite reluctant to write this but its been bugging me all week. Me and my friend came here for drinks on Saturday we had a table booked in the evening. Upon greeting we was told we could not bring drinks from downstairs (cain and grain) to upstairs which was fine so i went back downstairs to take the drinks back when a staff member at the desk at the bottom told me who ever told you that is talking rubbish and then he escorted me back upstairs with the drinks and spoke to someone then everything was fine we was seated and given menus. A male came over he was slim build and had a tash/beard we asked some advice on some of the cocktails he was very impatient gave no advice and he had a really bad attitude and told us the description is in the cocktails, my friend asked for 5mins to decide as he dosnt handle pressure like that. 5mins goes by guy comes back i order us both same cocktails. Cocktails arrive we cheers then the guy who serves us comes back with the bill on the table which we are confused as we didnt ask so i took the bill to him asked him why he got the bill his response was and i quote “im finding you both difficult to serve and quite frankly i do not like the look of you” i was in shock so i asked to see the manager straight away i told her the story she went in the back to talk to him or someone and came back out and said we have to leave as he feels uncomfortable now. Honestly never in my life have i felt so embarrassed and in shock how a premises like this can treat customers. Looking back through the reviews of this place it seems a common pattern of rude staff which is a shame as it seems a cool little place to drink. Let me know when under new management or you hire some staff who have a slight interest in the customers needs il give it another shot until then i highly advise people stay away and i do not recommend, however i do recommend cain and grain."

"I didn’t really enjoy the food as I had my order messed up, instead of vegetarian burger I’ve got a normal cheeseburger then changed to goats cheese burger that came completely cold inside. It wasn’t to nice, to much chutney. We had few things on our order multiplied and the bill was very high. We could eat a much better meal in a nicer restaurant for that money."

"Very friendly service and the food just melts in your mouth. I had the notorious P.I.G and OMG I am in love .It literally falls apart in your mouth and is definitely one of the best things I have ever tasted. It's also very filling too. Would definitely go back again xxx"

"After changing hands, we were naturally worried as we have been going to SALT for over 10 years. Little did we know the new guys would give it the va va voom SALT had all those years ago from day one. Danielle, Thea and the team make sure you are comfortable, well fed and certainly enjoy the experience. What I've enjoyed is seeing the new team sprinkle a little fairy dust on the already delicious menu by adding their own little something something. What more can you ask? Thea and her sweet treats will most certainly keep you coming back for more. We had a range of puddings: banana loaf, tea loaf (GF), brownies (vg) and a cherry tart. My sister is a vegan and as someone who has followed the vegan lifestyle CAKES CAN BE SO SLOPPY and brownies so dry. These were so delicious (I hate the word) but so moist! My partner had: the tots with lemon aioli and the Perky Pig and I had the Vegan's revenge. Really cannot wait to see what else Team SALT does. Absolutely magic team! Top job guys."

"Great looking place, right by the river. Perfect setting my for a drink food in the sun! HOWEVER this place really lets Stratford down! The bar staff were rude and not interested in their customers needs, on requesting to move inside the barman just told us to wait for our food and then they’d deal with it, and that it was all service only! When the food arrived, it was warm/cold. We waited 50 minutes for the food, one main one side! Absolute JOKE!! The toilets were disgusting with the no working soap dispenser in the mens, with no soap at all in the ladies! The fact that they can’t even be bothered to uphold basic personal hygiene standards by ensuring soap is in the toilets is absolutely unacceptable! This is a great shame as this place has lots of potential, therefore the only plus point is the location! We will not be returning and will be going elsewhere when in Stratford! We will be going to The Pen Parchment next time! We would have bought these issues up at the time, however we were on a tight schedule. Needless to say we were still late and left very annoyed disappointed! Serious changes need to be made to make this place a success! Other people in the vicinity of our table had issues and were asking for refunds etc!"

"I love it here, I think some of the reviews have been a bit harsh really considering it's a sports bar, and not all vegan. My favourite is the chipotle mockin bird that comes with chips. I think the texture is amazing, though once it was a tad water logged (once out of the maybe 10 times I've been here). The chips are always great too better than just standard fries. I am a bit funny with fried food and though other places in the city offer Seitan it's often coated in a thick batter and feels really greasy. This is the complete opposite, the pieces are always huge, and in a light batter and not greasy at all! My boyfriend is a meat eater, and though he happily eats vegan I do like that he can get an option, as can my family and friends that choose to eat meat. I've often in the past chose here over all vegan places as I just think it has such a vast menu that's not all burgers etc."

"Big pub in Lee on the Solent and it is by the sea. Had her Christmas roast dinner with a pudding and a drink. Very reasonable £25 for two. The Carvery was a help, absolutely delicious. Choice of three meats and about 6 vegetables, frying and mash potatoes. Yorkshire Pud, Gravy and Saucen. Food is really delicious. For pudding, the apple cake and custard had again delicious and a huge bowl filled up. Absolutely filled Great value for money. The pub is warm and cozy great in a cold evening. The staff was very friendly. Definitely back."

"A long standing Brighton pub, the Hope Ruin is centrally located in the city, providing 666% vegan food and booze in a vibrant arena of kitsch memorabilia and music. Beelzebab has been fulfilling the menu for 10 years now, with all foods of comfort; from hot dogs to kebabs, loaded fries and tater tots to brownies and cake. Junk food at its best with handmade seitan and fries loaded with a choice of toppings, all demanding to be ordered and greedily gobbled up. Portions are generous and we happily shared a Beelzebab kebab (only because this was our second lunch of the day! . Sparkling water and a glass of the house red wine were our refreshments of choice, served up by lovely people to 2 hungry vegans on a wet and miserable Monday afternoon. Perfect! "This place was so phenomenal! I got my outdoor dining fix. It's disturbing the number of times I think about their macaroni and cheese ball appetizer. By far the best appetizer, and it says it's a homemade recipe, I believe them! I've never had that macaroni and cheese flavor, so good. Deep fried, it just makes sense, and it's probably one of the best things on the menu. Everything is great about this. You can feed your whole family and get a great dining experience, and it feels like it'll cost you an arm and a leg, but their prices are so reasonable you can bring your whole family and have dessert!"

"We had relatives visiting from The States who after a pleasant day in Lewes decided they wanted to goto a country pub for dinner. WE suggested a few in the area some didn't answer the phone others were showing full booked online until a lot later that evening. The Rainbow fitted the bill with seemingly good reviews. Having had experience in the past, some good and some not so good and knowing of its reputation over the years, we were pleased to see it all looked positive when we visited. We phoned up about 5.30pm prior to arriving for dinner about 6pm on a Saturday. We were told just turn up as there was space for our party of five there was no need to prebook. We arrived and were greeted by a lovely young lady who explained we could sit in the Dining Room table service or garden order from the bar. It was a hot day, so we elected to sit in the garden. We were told once we noted the specials board that several dishes were not available and some of the main menu had sold out also. We were surprised to find the Dining room sparsely occupied and the garden was similar. We picked a nice spot under a gazebo on a terrace area with seating rather than picnic benches. once seated I noted that the table had drinks spilt on then and had not been cleaned. The our server came back to us to tell us what was not available. there was such an exhaustive list at least half the menu and specials. We suggested it would be easier to tell us what was available. With this done she duly left, so we could make our choice. The people on the adjoining table introduced themselves as the owner/manager and apologised for the lack of food as it had been rather a busy afternoon. We reluctantly chose what was left, which wasn't really what we wanted. Then one of our party stated it was unpleasant where we were sitting as the adjoining table were smoking and another smoker had sat close by. He was not keen to eat while someone was smoking near him so he suggested the Dining Room. By this time with the lack of food available and other issues we left to find another venue. It was a shame as it all looked pleasant and inviting the people were friendly, with our rerlatives wanting to experience an English country pub this had evapourated because of the lack of food and the other issues. I would hope this was just a hiccup, but to run out so early on a Saturday evening of most of their menu items it seemed like a lack of foresite. The weather had been good and even if it was bad they would have struggled to fill the inside seating with the amount of people in the pub. It felt like a bit of poor management on their part . We will keep an eye on how things go and may return without relatives in the future."

"Went in for a dri nk after a very long hot walk, we asked the landlord about bus services in the area and was offered a lift back to Amlwch, which we were so glad of. Couldn't thank him enough, will hopefully be back soon and for food this time. Spoke to one local man in the pub and he a,so offered a lift and spoke of the area. One bonus for me was that they sold the nice Blue WKd , gluten free ones and not the awful barley rubbish. Price per person: £1–10"

"I really like the setting and the concept, the food for me was not good enough for the price point. Price wise , this is comparable to London prices and Michelin star restaurants in Kent, but the food was not spectacular. It all very nice, but not exceptional. Again, love the concept of choosing a few dishes and the chef arranges them into a couple of courses. The deck for pre drinks is a nice vibe, although a few tweaks could be excellent. The service on the deck wasn’t great, had to go find staff on a few occasions. Tried to order at the bar, but told its table service onlybut then had to try to get attention of staff. The music needs to be a little more carefully curated to create one particular vibeit went from cool Ibiza chill, to retro dance, to 90s pop. All good, but one consistent atmosphere at a time, transitioning throughout the evening would be good. Also had the candied brisket and caramel popcorn as a bar snack. This was not well executed. Served in a paper bag, which suggest a portable snackbut too messy to eat that way, and def too Messy as a snack with your drinks. The beef brisket was in big lumps, that we pulled apart, to eat with the popcorn. The popcorn was not fresh. Good concept, but not well served. The beef needed to be properly shredded and much driersalty shredded beef (dry! with sweet fresh caramel popcornthat would be a very good snack. We had a lovely evening. It felt like we went out, rather than just to a local restaurant. But for the prices, I’d expect much better. "Such a shame. Not enough staff, very slow not very attentive. Needs a good clean!! Bathrooms were not very clean : Roast dinner was nice but said it included colofllwer cheese but dident.. another table also complained this was the case with their food too. Desert ok.. definitely just frozen cake warmed up and cheap ice cream (1 small scoop) for £5! Plates left on table for ages, had to go and give them out glasses and plates in the end.. I noticed so many people were doing the same. They collect dirty glasses in an Asda grocery basket??? Such a shame as has loads of potential but just need a good clean and couple of things then it’ll be perfect. Staff really need to be more friendly or attentive. It was like talking to a brick wall. Not very welcoming."

"Enjoyed early evening dinner on my Birthday we shared calamari starter which was delicious. Husband had longhorn burger which he said was delicious and I had lobster bisque fish stew which I enjoyed, although it was too thin and watery to describe as a bisque, but taste was good nonetheless and contained plenty of lovely prawns, muscles and fish. Service, atmosphere and location very good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £80–90 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fish, Salt and Pepper Calamari, Burgers"

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Josie's restaurant and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! This restaurant truly deserves a five-star rating for several reasons. First and foremost, Josie's is a great family place to eat. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive, and they went out of their way to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. And let's talk about the food! Oh my goodness, the pancakes at Josie's are to die for. They were fluffy, light, and absolutely delicious. I couldn't get enough of them! But it's not just the pancakes that impressed me. I particularly enjoy their Eggs Benedict, delicious. In addition to the outstanding food and service, the ambiance of the restaurant is spot on. Overall, I highly recommend Josie's restaurant. Whether you're looking for a great family-friendly spot or simply craving some amazing pancakes, this place won't disappoint. Trust me, you won't regret giving Josie's a try"

"I was recently on a hen do in Bristol and we needed somewhere for lunch. My two friends and I were tasked with finding someone last minute for 18 hungry ladies and the bride had let slip she was hankering for a pizza. After strolling around and reeling off the usuals we stumbled across this place and looked longingly at a massive free table of this pizza/pie place, 'perfect ' was banded around if only we could have that table. So we took the plunge and went in! The guy who seated us was so nice and helpful and wasn 't even that fazed by seating 18 people. All seated we then remember there was a party member who had to have gluten free and vegetarian, no problemo! They have gluten free options too! Phew! We perused the menu and had a very tough time deciding on what to have out of all of the very nice options and there was some serious order envy going on when the food did arrive. I eventually decided on the lamb bam boogie pie and wasn 't disappointed! It came with lovely big wedges, chutney and a pickled onion. Just one, strange but enjoyable! But in all honesty I could have eaten any of the things on the table. We weren 't in any condition to try them but they have a large cider selection and you can even buy a sampler of 6 different ciders. This place is perfect for groups, families, couples or even singles. Everyone pays before for their own food in advance nando 's style and there 's plenty of choice and stuff to suit everyone! What a find!"

"My first time in The Rabbit rooms, I love the light shades! we 'popped ' in for a quick/cheap bite before going to The Courthouse, what a lovely surprise, I actually wish we had just spent a couple of hours there, where the seats were comfortable, the food delicious and the staff treated us old pensioners like we were quests in their own home, the quantity and quality of our meals punched well above 'pub grub ' and that lovely big open fire made it hard to leave. And, it turns out they always have deals on food, making this a really great value place to eat at any time."
