"Ltd menu due to supplier Covid issues which is understandable, however the prawn and salmon starter is basically a pot of seafood sauce. The cod and chips served with 8.5 chips and the Martini Eaton mess did not have martini. I have marked service as high due to the waitress being pleasant however watching her gnawing on fruit at the bar between service was a little weird."

"the fish and the chips! was quite average! although the place gottes ambiente has, the service was a tad slow. but will give another shot, as this is the next seafood place where I set up.(also, forget, in Wetar-Dip with my fish and chip, as mentioned on the menu) the second (and then 3 and 4) were better than the first. the food tasted better and the service was fast. the personal was polite and the whole experience was over satisfactory."

"really delicious, healthy Japanese cuisine. the miso suppe is like a hug in a cup. great service and great variety on menu. with one of the dishes too much rice and not enough sauce/meat. and the only other room for improvement is I have always found it super cool in there, so take an additional cardiac. beautiful view of bruntsfield area where you can watch people. we always make ourselves happy and full. can't wait to come back."

"We came here for a family lunch on Sunday 1st September and had a really great experience we were seated on the roof terrace, which was lovely given the great weather, and the food and drinks were all of a really high standard, and were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. However, the other stand out here was the service, so a big shout out to Emily Farrow, as she was simply brilliant nothing was too much trouble, she was so friendly, remaining professional and polite, and it is only when you receive such good service that you realise what a difference it makes to the overall experience, so great job!"

"I booked a couple of rooms for two nights and, to be honest, I didn't expect much for the price. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities at the Belmill. The rooms were spotless - my wife even did a thorough inspection and gave it 10/10 for cleanliness. The shower room was very modern with double shower heads and complimentary toiletries. The tea/coffee tray was well stocked with delicious biscuits. The towels were large, fluffy, and white. The bed had crisp white linens and was comfortable. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast started a bit late, but it was worth the wait. The next morning, a lovely basket of fresh towels, toiletries, and biscuits was left outside our door with a welcoming note from Tricia, letting us know to ask for more towels if needed. I've been to many hotels, but the warm welcome we received at the Belmill made me eager to return."

"was here twice. first service was brilliant. exceptionally friendly and efficient server. the second time was the exact opposite. they were not in a hurry to serve and generally extremely rude and outpatient. they seemed to be upset when I asked for a recommendation, and after the choice of a beer that they ran randomly out of them, just went well, I don't know, then should I go? it is not as if I had tried all animals and none selected, I literally first tasted one they offered and asked for a pint. very strange attitude. also someone mentioned prices. yes, I was charged 6 pfunds for this setting and half a pint. after my second visit I can't really recommend the place, I'm not the only one who complains about rude fellow workers. Maybe the owner should really look into what's going on."

"The service at this restaurant was indifferent and apathetic. Despite being told there was no fish left, I was made to wait for 20 minutes while other customers were served. The server was engaged in a loud discussion about the chips with a regular customer, ignoring me in the process. Eventually, I was informed that there were no fish or battered sausages left, and I had to settle for a cold ‘Jumbo Sausage’ that had been sitting there for 20 minutes. The portion of chips was meagre and the overall experience was uncomfortable due to the server's reluctance."

"Sushiya is nestled between two other much bigger buildings on Dalry Road near Haymarket and if you blink you 'll probably miss it as it 's only around a third of the size of its neighbours. My little sister is somewhat obsessed with all things Japanese, so when she came up to visit last month, she jumped at the chance of eating at an authentic Japanese restaurant. We had Inari and chicken Yakitori for starters (along with a cup of very unremarkable green tea) which were both very nice but perhaps a tad too pricey at what amounted to £3 a mouthful. Fearing the same cost/size ratio from the sushi we opted to order from elsewhere on the menu. I had chicken teriyaki (with a bowl of miso soup) whilst my sister plumped for a bowl of chicken ramen; and by bowl I mean vat that dish was freakin ' huge! Both are fairly staple dishes for a Japanese restaurant and were equally acceptable if not outstanding but what struck me about both (especially when taking into consideration what I said about the size of the starters) is that this place 's portion control is way out of whack the mains were huge and I struggled to finish mine, my sister gave up halfway through. That 's not the worst thing in the world but I can 't help but feel that I would have been happier paying slightly less for a portion I could have comfortably managed. That 's not to sound like I 'm being cheap (besides the non sushi mains a very reasonably priced anyway) it 's just that I 'm begrudged to leave food I 've paid for. As opposed to stole. Obviously. The service was okay and the waitresses were friendly enough but we did wait for around forty five minutes for our main courses to come. As for its facilities, the interior is small but well kept. It just about barely escapes feeling cramped when full but that 's the kind of setting you come to expect from communal eating bars like these. Size then is an obvious limitation for small lunch bars so it proved to be somewhat surprising when customers were continually turned away due to the establishment being full despite the fact that there was an unoccupied reserved table big enough for a party of seven who (I learned from overhearing the waitresses) were already over half an hour late. Surely this isn 't good business sense; I understand that a reservation of seven is certainly better than the prospect of no custom at all but at the same time there needs to be a line drawn where you lose your reservation and it 's your fault. The seven eventually swaggered in with no hint of apology or excuse as to their tardiness. I hated them a little bit. Whinge and moan from me then and it 's certainly not directed at the restaurant itself it 's more because a) I deplore lateness and b) I really want to see little restaurants like this stay open; they 're three a penny in other parts of the world but we genuinely don 't have all too many of them in the UK and it 's poorly behaved customers along with the reluctance to discipline them (i.e. by cancelling their reservation) which threaten their very existence. All in all then, Sushiya proved very acceptable for a Saturday lunch. I 'm not all too sure I 'd go out of my way to go there again, or that the mood would ever strike me to just pop along; but for aficionados of Japanese cuisine, it 's certainly worth a look. The Water Situation: Water served happily and without fuss."

"I must have passed this restaurant located on the mezzanine floor of Liverpool Street station numerous times over the past 4 years since my discovery, always admiring the impressive oval wooden seating area that appears to be levitating on top of a bed of white pebbles. And after putting it on mental checklist of 'I must try this place someday ' I finally dined in here today, mainly because it was raining and we didn 't want to step out of the station. Plus they are taking part in the Eat Out To Help Out scheme. And after going through our substantial meal of edamame beans, miso Soup, sushi platters, chicken Teriyaki, rice pickles, I did regret not eating here sooner. I have really craved Japanese cuisine during lockdown, unable to recreate the authentic flavours at home. And this place hit all the right notes, taking it 's place in my top 3 Japanese restaurants in London.I was pleasantly surprised by the quality freshness of the food including their strong environmental stance. Some people might find the food pricy but I have personally feel that this place offers value for money given the high quality of ingredients. I also discovered today that this restaurant has been around since 1994 was the 1st of its kind to have Japanese food on a conveyor belt. It has truly stood the test of time. Plus I was amazed at how spacious it really is on the inside. I almost forgot that I was dining inside a station! If you enjoy good Japanese food and care about ethical/sustainable farming, then this place is for you. Service on the other hand was average and the servers could have been a little more attentive. And this why I gave my review a 4 star."

"Remarkable to find this restaurant in the middle of London in the 21st Century. Traditional vegan Japanese foods prepared imaginatively, delicious and served with grace and dedication. Ecologically sourced ingredients and in each dish underlying ethical principals. There were many choices in the menu which was a bit overwhelming nevertheless there is plenty of variety and meals for different tastes. I had tempura as part of my fare, an array of flavourful cooked and fermented delicacies and exquisite sushi with a mouth watering creamy sesame dessert. This is healing food that can be savoured and not rushed."

"My boyfriend and I come here every Christmas. Food never disappoints. However, I am so sad they no longer serve the cookie in a pan dessert as this was the highlight for me. The staff are friendly. Always a lovely atmosphere."

"This charming and cozy restaurant offers delicious food in a lovely setting. While the indoor seating provides views of the Thames, it is limited to just a few tables. However, they also have additional tables in the garden that boast stunning views of the bridge. I make it a point to visit this place every time I'm in London. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. It's definitely a must-visit!"

"If I could have given 5 stars (or even more) I would have. The food was absolutely incredible!!! Started with the vegan meze platter (the vegan feta was crazy good). We then had the courgette fritters with mahamarra, tofu with potatoes, creamy garlic mushrooms and rosemary fries. We were dining with omnis and they said the vegan feta was better than dairy feta and that the creamy garlic mushrooms were just as good as their non-vegan counterpart. The restaurant were so vigilant with vegan diners and particularly vigilant with everything coronavirus. There is a lovely beer garden outside which they have expanded onto the car park to make space for more outdoor eating. I live in Manchester but passing by (even an hour away, I would return for another meal). I couldn’t recommend this place more."

"we both had steaks and they were so delicious. in the 50s I had many meals over the years. that was just one of the best meals we've ever had. great service, good food, including desserts. only what we did not see was the salate, since he was half an salate with a cheeseflake. beautiful taste, but meaningless, as not really fit with steak mushrooms and pommes. even the hot chocolate drink was great! we have never been to a miller and carter steakhouse, but we will definitely go back. absolutely super. 10/10."

"The food and service at this Thai restaurant in Newcastle were absolutely amazing. It was my first time visiting with my family and I have nothing but positive things to say. We tried the Happy Hour menu which included an appetizer and a main dish. We ordered a variety of dishes including Thai green curry, Massaman curry, Pad Thai noodles, Tom Yum soup, chicken satay, dumplings, and vegetable tempura. The Tom Yum soup was particularly delicious with plenty of chicken pieces. The portion sizes were generous and everyone in our group left satisfied. The children enjoyed their meals as well. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and efficient. I would definitely go back for another visit."

"I don't usually leave bad reviews for restaurants because it's someone's business (I think I've only done so once before ...... but this meal was SO exceptionally disappointing. The decor of the restaurant is really cute and welcoming, but that's about it. The rice in all our sushi was overcooked and wet, so that it felt stodgy and frankly just unenjoyable to eat (especially because they used so much of it per sushi piece to bulk out the mass. At one point I thought to myself, sadly, that chain shop sushi tasted better and cost 1/3 the price... Like the rice was sticking to the plate when you tried to lift it, because of how wet it was. The fish slices were thin and poorly flavoured (the negi toro in particular didn't taste fresh to me . And to top it all off we waited an hour for our food and only got it after prompting the staff who were individually lovely to us, but seemed overworked and stretched thin. I would not recommend coming to this restaurant; as an Edinburgh resident I feel there are other Japanese restaurants in the city that offer better taste and value for money. I rarely get so disappointed after a meal that I feel have to tell someone, but this place finally did it I guess!!! Such a saddening taste experience for the cost."

"This is my second time giving a one-star review. I decided to review this place and brought a friend along with me because I heard it was a great spot for Thai food. I'll keep this brief. We went for lunch and there was only one other couple there. We ordered a bottle of New Zealand white wine but received a bottle of cheap white wine instead. When I mentioned this, the waiter said it was all they had. I asked the waiter for food recommendations but he couldn't suggest anything. We ordered four dishes and each one came out warm and quickly. I requested fresh chilis but was given sweet chili sauce instead. The waiter never checked on us during our meal and instead sat watching something on his laptop. Overall, I was very disappointed with this place, especially after reading the great reviews."

"Having not visited a Tampopo for at least five years (the last time being a quick mid-shopping bite to eat in the Trafford Centre), I of course agreed to visit their newly-refurbished Corn Exchange location in the centre of Manchester and check out their menu. Prepare yourself: there’s a LOT of food in this post. Don’t read it if you’re sat at work starving and it’s only 10.30am, is all I’m saying."

"OH MY GOD AMAZING What more can I say, the service and the food were impeccable, the staff are very attentive, knowledgeable with info about the food and the wines to accompany the dishes, courteous, caring, and really take a pride in their roles, the kitchen staff have excellent attention to detail and know how to cook, the food we had was exemplary, cooked to perfection, not every chef can do a steak rare, most overcook it even if it’s just a tiny bit, but my steak on the surf and turf was cooked to perfection, the chimichuri with with the surf and turf was fresh and tangy with just the right amount of chillies, the monks fish tail wrapped in pancetta was moist and dried out like most chefs cook it, the risotto was nutty and tangy, and the pak Choi wilted to perfection with soy sauce and chilli, the starters were equally incredible, light and juicy scallops with fregola, broad beans and sun dried tomatoes, and the smoked salmon with rye bread, capers, dressed with onions and herby cream cheese, all the flavours complimented each other perfectly, This was a dining experience I won’t forget in a hurry, we were made to feel to welcome, as though we were visiting old friends, Please go and visit You won’t regret it"
