"I had the most delightful evening at the Britannia, returning after a long time. It’s always been great, but it’s just gotten better! The manager was so welcoming and gifted me a glass of bubbly on arrival for my birthday, so lovely! Then he let us choose where we wanted to sit. The menu was varied with several seafood options too. All the food was of a very high standard. I had the tempura prawns with a very light and crispy batter and tasty prawns, then the lamb rump with dauphinois potatoes and green beans. It was delicious and the meat was cooked exactly as I’d asked. A substantial wine menu offering also. It had more of a restaurant feel than when I last visited, with white table cloths etc. but I think this works as felt more of a special dining experience for a birthday. Thank you so much for a great evening!"

"This pub is a great part of the Byfords empire. Last week they had 9 real ales available, all of which were very enjoyable. On Tuesdays and Fridays at 5pm, they offer free sausages at the bar. While they also have a steak night, which can be a bit pricey, this pub is mainly for enjoying a drink and conversation. They offer traditional pub games and if you're unsure about which ale to choose, they are happy to offer you a taster. The toilets are also clean."

"This is my second time giving a one-star review. I decided to review this place and brought a friend along with me because I heard it was a great spot for Thai food. I'll keep this brief. We went for lunch and there was only one other couple there. We ordered a bottle of New Zealand white wine but received a bottle of cheap white wine instead. When I mentioned this, the waiter said it was all they had. I asked the waiter for food recommendations but he couldn't suggest anything. We ordered four dishes and each one came out warm and quickly. I requested fresh chilis but was given sweet chili sauce instead. The waiter never checked on us during our meal and instead sat watching something on his laptop. Overall, I was very disappointed with this place, especially after reading the great reviews."

"really delicious, healthy Japanese cuisine. the miso suppe is like a hug in a cup. great service and great variety on menu. with one of the dishes too much rice and not enough sauce/meat. and the only other room for improvement is I have always found it super cool in there, so take an additional cardiac. beautiful view of bruntsfield area where you can watch people. we always make ourselves happy and full. can't wait to come back."

"yesterday we had one of the worst experiences in a restaurant. I was in the hospital and on the way to home made a reservation about the phone. Once we entered, we were accompanied on our table and given menus. 5 minutes after we had set ourselves, the very rude waitress (possibly South African) marched on our table and announced before the whole restaurant that we did not wear the right clothes and therefore had to leave clothes or change because they could not serve us. I am perfect with restaurants with a dress code (although they are in the rule in mayfair not knowle high st.) which I did not like was that this was not imparted to us on more discreet wise. it was very embarrassing, and we were made to feel like we were among them. we live in hampton in Arden, not a million miles away. yes, we were under dressed, but it was a Sunday afternoon afternoon, morning. If the waitress had been kind enough to talk with something decor, she would have realized that we had just arrived from the sick house and celebrated my good health, which explains the pension. I will not come back. I never felt so humiliated in my whole life."

"I was hoping to go with the woman for a cocktail as we work on this street every week. we see the sign outside the front, the 2 quoted for £12 and thought that would seem reasonable, but we will not finance it now, not after I see a price rise. a happy hour. now its 2 for £14 on the sign that changed a few months ago. each pfund adds up in a time the dinge cost a fortune. unfortunate potential customers."

"This cozy, family-owned Thai Malaysian restaurant offers easy parking at a nearby council car park. A nice touch with the colorful prawn crackers served as a snack. We enjoyed a bottle of Thai Monsoon white wine with our meal. The starters of chicken satay and prawn in a parcel were delicious, though it would've been preferred if the chicken was cut into smaller pieces on the skewer. The sauces were tasty. For the main course, the lamb Massaman curry was flavorful with large chunks of lamb cooked to perfection. The Nasi Goreng was a bit spicy but enjoyable, and they even added a fried egg on top per our request. The coconut rice was a nice accompaniment. The prawn and broccoli curry had tender broccoli and tasty prawns in a good sauce. The staff was friendly, polite, cheerful, and efficient. Overall, the meal was enjoyable and good value for money."

"tasting! right in the center of the hunting ground of the crowd, you will find this abyss place, with really good eating. they sit outside when they can, they have a great time to watch some really loud people, probably called fiona or phillip, all make a impression on each other in nearby pubs and bars. do not doubt that eating all of this compensates. because we weren't really so hungry, we skipped starters to be great. I had green curry with garnel, and it was fabulous; spicy but not exaggerated, with many garnel and crispy away. my companion had the Muschelmann-Curry with lamb and was above the moon with taste and softness of the flesh. there is a decent choice of wein, and the prizes are really modest, they get their money worth, and more. go and enjoy them:"

"Great service with lovely staff. Very polite and staff will always help whenever required. Service was efficient without being overbearing The room was really well presented with a really good bar and good bar service. Some dishes were very slightly over priced but all of the food and drink was absolutely stunning with excellent presentation. Would very happily go again!"

"I highly recommend Miyako and will certainly return. I'm not fond of sushi but that was not an issue as the menu had plenty of alternative options. "Supper at Yippee Noodles was again as usual a fantastic experience. A slight delay because of takeaway orders was dealt with well by the exemplary staff, and the food as usual was fantastic. More on the restaurant It’s a fantastic feeling place with great atmosphere. The prices are fair I think as well. On the food the food here is cooked by a very hard working staff and everytime is prepared quickly and too a brilliant standard. In many ways the food is actually quite simple, and I often have the soups which come with a brilliant chicken broth. The noodles seemed fresh and the prawns in my dish were very tender and perfectly cooked. The pak Choy brings a nice touch of green color to the soups and is again well cooked, not too firm and not soft at all, well done all and thabkyou for creating a fantastic place for family, friends and anyone in between."

"we both had steaks and they were so delicious. in the 50s I had many meals over the years. that was just one of the best meals we've ever had. great service, good food, including desserts. only what we did not see was the salate, since he was half an salate with a cheeseflake. beautiful taste, but meaningless, as not really fit with steak mushrooms and pommes. even the hot chocolate drink was great! we have never been to a miller and carter steakhouse, but we will definitely go back. absolutely super. 10/10."

"A friend recommended this place to us. We have been in search of a good thai place in Bournemouth. Upon entering we were welcomed by the good ambience of a small fish pond and a nice server. We put in our orders which is a green papaya salad and spring rolls. The spring rolls was okay, but the papaya salad was amazing. It had that heat that I’ve been looking for in asian dishes. My husband who is not fond of fish sauce slurped the sauce of it. And then I ordered Pad Thai for mains and he ordered the drunken noodles. First bite and we were mind blown. It was amazing!!! The flavor profile and the mouth feel was just spot on. And the prices were great too. 2 starters and 2 mains was for less than £40. This is our new favorite place in Bournemouth. This place is so underrated."

"Great, affordable food, fantastic vegan options. Our waiter, Su-Rui, was incredibly friendly and efficient and made the visit that much more enjoyable. Really calming atmosphere, that was comfortable and intimate. The décor added to the casual atmosphere as well. One of the few places in Edinburgh that serves exquisite Japanese food, definitely worth a visit."

"After our selected place was unexpectedly closed, we choose to go somewhere around and according to google maps Koh Thai was just around. We were not disappointed as the atmosphere was so awesome and staff looks very professional. Just start with a cocktail which was superb. Ordered main course with wine and after lil wait the dishes were on table. Small portion with big value didn’t look nice. Btw food was delicious without any doubt. Call waitress couple of times but seems it’s time to show who is boss at this restaurant, mean no one came. After third time, I’ll have to literally shout and finally being heard . On top of that they add service charges in my bill which was a JOKE but I’m happy to pay that rather then create any drama. All I wanna let people know if you’re going there then use their service properly because at the end you’ll have to pay service charges by hook or by crook"

"Fine food and Issues Decided to visit as the reviews were mainly great. Arrived to find it looked ten minutes after due to be open. They were just opening the door. I went in and quickly used the toilet, not flushed by last person that used it! It's a well laid out, well decorated restaurant. I chose the Escargots as my starter, well cooked with a very small amount of sauce sadly no tongs to hold the shell. They were 6 very nice molluscs. The main was an absolutely sensational tasty seafood salad. Interesting dressing on a generous variety of sea food and nice salad. I had ordered a lime and soda, it transpired they had no lime so someone went out to buy some and could only get lemon, which was ok. When it came to the desert I liked the idea of four of them but ordered the lemon tart. A few minutes later the lady running front of house (I later discovered it was her first day in post!! Returned hugely apologetic telling me sadly they had no lemon tart. I chose the cherry clafouti and a few minutes later the young lady came back devastated to tell me they had none of that either! I eventually had a brownie, which she didn't charge me for. Must confess it didn't excite and the supplied ice cream was quite crystallised as if it had been refrozen. The table next to me were told they had no more Escargot, so clearly they opened with only one portion available. Front of house was good, 2/3 of the food I had was great but clearly someone needs to sort out the kitchen too many problems to give customers confidence of availability. Was it worth the trip? Oh yes but they have some serious organisational issues to resolve."
