"This place masquerades as a fine dining venue with its decor and expensive wines but is in reality a corporate establishment rather than a restaurant run with love and passion. There is an army of staff and if you order the set menu be prepared to have your food served at high speed and the quality was highly reminiscent of wedding food- corporate- with a conveyor belt feel to it. Perhaps the a la carte experience is different. A French restaurant with a medley of European staff not one English accent anywhere the night we visited). The staff were all super polite and friendly but a more leisurely experience would have enhanced our enjoyment dramatically. Not horrible but definitely not...read more"

"Unlike the name would suggest, this restaurant isn’t completely vegan and they do serve meat and other animal products as well. Staff was polite but I wouldn’t call them friendly. The place didn’t feel inviting because it’s small and pretty minimal. Vegan menu has a lot of options and not just vegan burgers like most places. I had the teriyaki tofu with veggies and the pumpkin soup and the mini red velvet cake. They were good, but nothing really special though. I’ll admit I chose this place because it’s close to my hotel. #veganuary Updated from previous review on 2021-12-27"

"I had the worst restaurant experience in Edinburgh at this place. The food was not good (we ordered the chili chicken ramen, regular chicken ramen, and vegetable gyoza). The service was really bad too. My friend got their food but I had to wait over 20 minutes because no one checked on us. I had to ask a different server for my food, and it wasn't even being prepared. Definitely not worth it. If you want ramen, go to Maki and Ramen instead - it's much better. There are also better Asian food options in town."

"I had high hopes for this restaurant as it appeared elegant inside. However, it was not very busy, and now I understand why. While the food tasted good, the portions were small and overpriced. For instance, six small prawns were £11, much to my surprise. My companion and I spent £50 on food but still needed to eat elsewhere afterwards due to the lack of food. The manager was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed, and other staff members were not very attentive. Our server struggled with English and I had to wait for the manager to take my order, even though it was just reading items off the menu. Additionally, a teenage boy at the bar kept changing the music volume, making it difficult to talk. We were also required to pay a £5 service charge, which felt unfair given the poor service. I doubt the restaurant will survive long with this level of operation, which is a shame as a good Japanese restaurant would thrive in Hale. As shown in my photo, the sushi cost £10."

"Welcomed by Jasmine on our arrival and promptly seated, despite the fact we were early! Jasmine and Kelly took very good care of us throughout, which was great because we had no idea what we were doing! Jasmine was able to advise on dishes and beverages which was really helpful. Food and drinks arrived promptly, and the food was perfectly cooked, looked fabulous and tasted delicious. Prices were reasonable and the menu has a good selection to suit most people. Highly recommended!"

"Last weekend my wife’s family held a gathering of sorts at the Mulberry Tree in Braintree. The food was possibly the worst I’ve eaten and was as far from being reasonably priced as it could be. All the little locals are now owned by chains and we pay our hard earned for frozen nuggets and chips sat with groupon vouchered benefit family’s glued to their phones whilst their half bred kids run riot and then there’s the staff of whom we are an inconvenience to. So when my sister in law and her boyfriend of whose family supply most of the genuine restaurants in the Essex and Suffolk areas with their meat instead of brake bros, they happened to mention the Vine in Great Bardfield. With my 10 year old son racing locally and friends attending to spectate we soon got talking about lunch? We happened to mention the Vine and once the track action finished we were quickly making our way to sunny Great Bardfield. The Vine looks like a traditional pub from the front and has parking accessed via the side entrance. There was a large garden with tables and play area for the kids to play. The restaurant itself is small with a quirky feel and the staff not only very welcoming but they can talk by opening and closing their mouths. There is no pre booking (according to the website) and we arrived unannounced as a group of 7 and got seated right away. The menus were clean and the food has different names so you can read it and not opt for the usual default setting so many of us so often do. We opted for Disco Brisket and The classic burgers, fries on the side with additional onion rings, mozzarella bites and a double portion of chicken wings. The kids had burgers too and this is where things for me set the standard as my youngest of whom is on occasions fussy with his food ate the whole thing before insisting it was the best burger he had eaten. I have to agree as do our friends. The portions were large enough to request a box for the chicken wings to take home, of which when asked the staff were obliging. We had an extremely nice meal with drinks and the bill was a little over £100. The Vine not only exceeded my expectations but has set the bar for other restaurants to catch up or end up as yet another curry house. Cannot wait to return for what will be an adult only evening and my only negative comment was not trying the desserts. The nearest ice cream to us is a drive to Thurrock or to Snugburys in Cheshire so a milk shake or rare flavoured ice cream would be 10/10"

"my partners arrived eating, not a sign of me. a woman who seemed more superior came after a past and asked what my order was. first, a false head office arrived, which had to be sent back. my head finally arrived, and one side soon came after. I thought it was my veggie gyozas, but only after eating one, I realized that it was actually black. I ate them because my eating was already so delayed and I'm not a vegetarian anyway. only when I had finished my main page, a part of the veggie gyozas appeared, which we refused, and said I had already got mine (art! and one because later came another, which we also rejected. I was for my main command, but really there was so much chaos around me, I think we had more composed. my partner cha han donburi came without an early onshore or pickles, so it was quite bland, and we were really very excited to try mochis for the rest of time and they were also not great. we left the waiting time to order our dessert and even longer to get our bill. a real shame, as we would look so much forward to our journey to wagamamas, as there are no one in the city in which we live."

"The Japanese restaurant offered a wide variety of dishes. We ordered a platter, katsu curry, seaweed as a starter, prawn tempura, and seafood gyozas. Everything was delicious and served promptly. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu had a large selection of options, ensuring that everyone would find something they enjoyed. Overall, a fantastic dining experience."

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Petite Coree, and it was an absolute culinary delight. The starters were a perfect introduction to the meal, with a variety of flavorful and beautifully presented options. The mains were nothing short of delicious, with each dish showcasing the authentic flavors of Korean cuisine. And let's not forget about the amazing cocktails they were expertly crafted and perfectly complemented the meal. To top it all off, we indulged in some mouthwatering Korean ice cream that left us wanting more. The combination of great food, fantastic cocktails, and delightful desserts made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to savor the best of Korean cuisine."

"I’ve been to Nippon Kitchen many times. I find service is either amazing or poor never in between. The vegan bento box is great value for money and tastes great. Included in the bento box for about £11 miso soup, 3 sushi rolls, veg tempura, 2 dumplings, soy beans, curry and rice. Ordering meals separately, I find is expensive and not worth it. Overall love the restaurant and definitely would go back. Clear, separate vegan menus."

"Been here many times and usually excellent, but today was very poor. At 5pm they had already run out of one of the menu items. My wife then ordered the chicken Sunday roast. Disappointingly this was 3 pieces of roast chicken (small drumstick and 2 thighs) as opposed to slices or even 1/4 chicken. The sautéed greens consisted mostly of garden peas, and the bread sauce tasted more like horseradish, and was served inside the Yorkshire pudding. The “bottomless” gravy was a limited quantity already on the plate. Worst of all the roast potatoes were not even served. When questioned the waitress wasn’t even sure they were meant to be served, A plate of roast potatoes arrived. The other main was Sea bass on a salsa which was meant to include pickled watermelon with a green pesto dressing. There was one 1cm cube of watermelon, and approx 1/4 teaspoon of pesto. When questioned I was given further pesto. Terrible experience at a previously excellent restaurants."

"we went to a girl lunch and really enjoyed it. friendly people eating delicious. I thought the room was a bit cold, sitting near the door with him all the time. but perhaps in the night with all grills on them would feel different."

"Itsu in Notting Hill Gate has consistently met expectations, both before, during, and after the Covid-19 pandemic. The restaurant maintains a comfortable temperature, staying cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The establishment is clean, well-decorated, and staffed with professional employees. The shelves are always neatly arranged, service is quick, and the decor is inviting. As for the food, the Mochi cheesecake is a standout dish, with a delicate blend of the cheesecake alongside the soft, chewy Mochi casing. It is not overly chewy, making it easy to cut with a fork if desired. The Beauty smoothie, while featuring a nice blend of fruits, could benefit from a bit more strawberry to enhance the flavor. Overall, the smoothie is satisfying and ideal for a hot day."

"My son and I decided to pop in to chopstix for some lunch as we had not tried it before. Very pleasant experience. The food was excellent, especially the salt and pepper chicken. The dining area was also spotless. The staff who served us, Callie and Erica, were very friendly and inviting. Very nice to see happy, cheerful staff who obviously enjoy their work. We will definitely be back."

"pleasant event with beautiful, quiet seating in the upper floor. faster service, friendly staff. unfortunately, much of the food was too salty for our taste and some of the aromen were not as pleasant as we hoped (for example, the klean-katsu has far too much ingwer; the rams are very...Salty even by ramen standards)."

"Friendly staff, a nice take on traditional Japanese fare. There’s no pressure to eat a full meal, even at lunch time (some students dropped by ate only dessert specials), a nice approach. The edamame beans are delicious, the pork donburi very filling! I suspect the miso soup is made to cater for vegans, it doesn’t have the fatty richness of genuine miso broth made from pork bones; the rice in our dishes was not sticky as it would be in Japan, which made eating it with chopsticks more difficult. Slightly disappointing as Chef appeared to be Japanese! The guys found the chicken teriyaki less filling than my donburi, the chicken udon noodles was enjoyed. The Takoyaki (octupus balls) were the star of the show, tasty representative of the real McCoy! Reasonably priced fast service. One to return to."

"We arrived having booked a table for 6 people on a Friday at 8pm and although the bar area was busy, the restaurant was virtually empty and we needn't had booked. The dining area is extremely dark and we could barely read the sparce menu (the menu I'd viewed online had much more on it) We ordered some drinks which took a fair while to arrive, but came with an apology about the wait. For starters we shared some small plates, which were fantastic. I would highly recommend the scotch egg. Unfortunately this was the highlight of the meal. After hearing some commotion in the kitchen our main course arrived and whilst my fish and chips was delicious, the rest of my party ordered burgers which arrived over cooked and hard, disguised in a moist brioche bun. That being said, as soon as this was pointed out, the waiter apologised profusely and immediately took them off of our bill. The waiter was absolutely amazing and really made our experience there. I would return but only for drinks and perhaps a scotch egg or two."

"the personal was amazing that everyone smiled and really woke up. the presentation of foods was really impressive the visualization and plates. Unfortunately, eating was not so big missing aromas and flavors. ramen nudeln looked rather disappointing not sure what kind of noodles, but tasted like the cheapest. the huh katsu was missing, as mentioned above, also the taste. sushi wasn't bad, can't complain, but not so good for the price. I'm glad we tried this restaurant because we were much interested, but I don't think we're back."

"if they are looking for somewhere to dinate with a group of friends, family or even their partner, then sticks n sushi won't give them up. this location is absolutely beautiful and in beautiful canary wharf. the decor and layout of the restaurant is simple yet aesthetically appealing. many options to choose from in the menu and I am sure that everything you choose will be satisfied. we enjoyed everything from edamame and calamari to sushi and scallops. we have the hot cataific (scallops.) they were crispy on the outside and yet soft and tasty on the inside. the scallops themselves tasted very fresh and the aromas of this selection worked very well together. we recommend this very much! the staff was fantastic and very helpful when it came to order. they are very well informed about the menu and gave some good recommendations!"
