"First visit Marlow and to a pub for ages thanks Covid and long overdue reunion with friend of many years. Everything a welcoming pub should be, friendly staff, great service attentive but not overpowering. We had a quiet corner table near the...woodburner, where we could have a proper conversation (both hearing impaired but we were able to hear each other perfectly, often a challenge in a busy pub). Excellent vegetarian and vegan options and generous portions. The wine suggestion was spot on and they happily made a cortado on request. Looking forward to visiting again next time I’m in Marlow."

"Looking at other reviews it seems we were unlucky with our experience last week. It was the worst pub meal I have had in ages dried up pasta with minimal sauce. When we complained we were brough a container of sauce to add! Another of our party ordered a pork dish which arrived without the dauphinoise potatoes, which he was told they had run out of. He was offered chips which were brought just as he was finishing his meal! The mussels were presented without a bowl to put the shells in and no finger bowl. This never appeared even after it was requested. We were loudly asked if we wanted more drink with monotonous regularity throughout the evening. Truly an awful experience."

"We booked in for a late brunch but were told the website was out of date and there wasn't a brunch menu after 11am. The menu itself was extremely limited and certainly on the pricey side. I ended up ordering 2 x small plates (the left hand side are all small plates) at £9 each and my friend ordered the turbot at £24. The food itself was delicious, but at £66.00 for a one course lunch with no alcohol, it was probably too expensive to make it a regular haunt! The decor is great, however, and the place is light, airy and spotlessly clean. Just not what was sold on their website and somewhere for a treat not a quick bite to eat."

"Thank you for the hospitality that I received when visiting your Media City restaurant last Friday for a pre-theatre meal. Food and Menu There is a simple menu that includes all the Italian and American classics that people love to eat. The choices are limited however it does cater for a range of diners from the Meat lover to the Vegetarian. In the Starters there is a Garlic Pizza Bread that is tasty with a great Garlic aroma. There is also American Style Nachos with Jalapeños and all the sauces to dip into. In addition, there is Calamari, Ribs and the Chicken Crunch too. In the Mains there is a great selection of Pizzas with good flavours. There are also additional toppings that you can add on for an extra charge. There is also a decent variety of Steak, Pasta, and Salad dishes for those that fancy them too. For the Burger fan there are some Beef Burgers and a Chicken Fillet one too. There is also a wide variety of sides that are a great addition to your meal from Chips, Sweet Potato Fries to Onion Rings and Garlic Bread too. For those with a sweet tooth then there is a selection of popular Desserts including the Warm Chocolate Brownie, Cheesecake and, Tiramisu that is creamy and indulgent to eat. If you like cold Desserts then there is Ice Cream and the Knicker Bocker Glory. For the Starters the Garlic Pizza Bread was tasty and moorish. It was soft in the middle with a bite on the edges. It was yummy. The Calamari was pleasant to eat but could have been cooked more as it was slightly rubbery to eat. For the Mains the Chicken Fillet Burger was perfectly cooked and it was beautifully presented. It was tasty and heart-warming to eat. The Salad and the Mayonnaise added more flavour. The Sweet Potato Fries were comforting to eat. They were crispy on the outside with soft fluffy Potato on the inside. I love how they are presented in a small pan dish. Cute. The Onion Rings were scrumptious. Their crispy batter was great on the outside with soft Onion pieces inside. It was a heart pleaser. For Dessert the Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream was heavenly to eat. The Brownie was cooked superbly. It was not hard to eat but it was runny with gooey and indulgent Chocolate. Yum. The Ice Cream was great too as it cut through the richness of the Chocolate adding texture. It was also stunning in presentation in which the Chocolate Brownie is in the middle of the plate with a lovely scoop of Ice Cream on top. Drinks They have a good selection of soft drinks which include all the popular ones to have. There is also a small variety of juices on offer too. However they do not serve non-alcoholic Mocktails. Service The service was good. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and accommodating. She gave us the time to choose our dishes. Her suggestions for food were spot on. It was good that the food came out pretty quickly and it was beautifully presented. Lighting and Access The lighting at this restaurant was pretty bright which allows for an enjoyable meal for most people including those with visual impairments. Entry to this restaurant is at the Holiday Inn Hotel to which there is a small step to enter into the building. Once inside there are stairs and lifts to get to the Mezzazine floor. This is where you will find the restaurant. There are no stairs inside as it is on one level. Furniture The furniture here is brilliant. I love the big tables which are spacious. The chairs are big and are comfortable to sit on. This gives a relaxed ambiance so that you can dine in style. Parking Parking is available at the Quayside Media City UK multi-storey car park (formerly The Lowry). If you are a Blue Badge holder then you will get 4 free hours when stamping your ticket. This takes effect from the time of arrival. Alternatively you can park at the Media City multi-storey which is closer to the venue. Pricing The pricing of the dishes at this restaurant are mid- range. However it is worth visiting once a while especially if the waiters are good, the food is tasty and that it is beautifully presented. If you love to eat Italian and American food within a relaxed atmosphere then head down to your local Marco’s."

"Super friendly welcome and great Italian family restaurant near Marble Arch/Oxford Street. Lovely looking restaurant and bar with outdoor tables to enjoy a lunch or on a summer evening. While a small menu it has a good selection of antipasti, pizza, pasta and large plates so good to mix and match. We enjoyed a plate of Smoked yellowfin tuna served with celery caperberries and a plate of sliced Octopus with chickpeas and grilled fennel while having cocktails of Watermelon Basil Collins and an Amalfi Coast 0% cocktail which was Pineapple, lime, agave and passionfruit For mains we tried the fresh Turbot served with Italian spinach, fresh peas and bottarga. My dish was the medium rare Dry-aged ribeye, with fresh borlotti beans, a roasted ‘bull’s heart’ tomato and topped with a delicious salsa verde. Sides were very filling which were roasted potaotes and a green salad. My favourite dish was the Pistachio tiramisu which was light and moreish. Overall a great local Italian restaurant with friendly service to celebrate or catch up with friends."

"Came here quite late on a Saturday lunchtime and the restaurant was quiet. The service wasn’t particularly attentive or friendly and had to wait ages to get someone’s attention for the bill at the end. The food was alright. Nothing to write home about. I didn’t like the Nacho-polis starter as it was very dry and tasteless. The pizza was also dry. Didn’t have the dessert I wanted, and the one I had as an alternative wasn’t very good either. It’s not some where I would rush back to."

"this year I had no time to plan my birthday party, I just booked a table in al pomodoro, and umberto, cetina and the whole team have an excellent job with the creation of amazing eating, beautiful atmosphere and surprising me with the tiramisu cake. if you want their gusts to feel special and enjoy the Sicilian cuisine to its best, this is the place I really appreciate for the whole team, with umberto, simply an excellent host, and cetina, that is true artists create amazing dishes that are unforgettable al pomodoro is the place that helps them to create the best memories of their lives. the new venue where 152 hills road is amazing, and definitiw sets al pomodoro as no 1 restaurant in cambridge when they are in cambridge, they need to check it!"

"We reserved to have dinner here on Friday, as it gets busy so we would advise to do so. This restaurant seems to be family owned judging by the way the staff got on, so made it quite homely. The restaurant has also the sense of being cosy and a chilled out, despite there being a lot of decorations along the walls and ceiling. There was a range of Italian foods and drinks on offer, at a reasonable price. The food portions were very generous, all looked comforting and tasty great. The staff were all friendly, helpful and were up for a chat so was great. We even got chatting to the head staff and about the procedures they had to put on place and how stressful it was. We had the following: Starters Garlic bread with tomato and Scallops with Bacon Mains Mushroom Risotto and Beef Medallion in peppercorn sauce Dessert Tiramisu and Panna Cotta"

"OK so this is a review of a takeaway as my partner had a first grand daughter 5 days ago so mum, dad and babe not able to eat out yet. I left a message to say I wanted to place an order and was called back. The order was placed and ready for collection less that half an hour later and, if you use the Chester Street carpark, there is a back entrance and everything was ready and waiting. My lady went for the Fettucine al Funghi creamy garlic mushrooms to you and I. She was blown away by the flavours and I had a taste of what was left and can agree it was SO mushroom flavoured. I opted for the Penne Arrabbiata con Pollo with a side order of Meatballs. Starting with the latter they are probably the nicest meatballs I have tasted in my much travelled 68 years. The Arrabbiata was pretty amazing too with lots of flavour and plenty of meat speaking purely personally I would have liked a little more sauce but it's a personal thing and the flavours were spot on. The youngsters opted for pizzas which I'm told were excellent but they were attending to their new princess to focus too much on the food. I lok forward to visiting the place again and sampling their full menu as the limited takeaway one if pretty good"

"Possibly the worst pizza express I’ve ever been to. Far too crammed in for comfort and far too noisy. Add in the fact that there were half a dozen justeat/ubereats/ deliveroo delivery riders chasing staff around for their order and it was very uncomfortable. Our dough balls came out about 45 minutes after ordering and came out stone dead after being in sight for maybe 15mins. Saw other peoples pizza come out the oven and sit for 15 minutes before being served, out pizza took about an hour from order to the table. After our experience we decided to uncharacteristically skip desert. I think this would be a nice environment for lunch, but Saturday dinner far too small to cater for the orders."

"after some months I visited the beverley restaurant with a visitor and was very impressed by eating and service. the menu offered a selection of antipasta and a wide range of pizza tips, although I was somewhat disappointed with my 4 scooping topping(s) regarding what I expected to be served, but it was quite pleasant as the Italian wee I forgot which we have chosen. the service is called more than we felt that we were looking for despite the liveliness of the restaurants and there was a friendly atmosphere. on the bottom we felt that the musak was on the conversation and wondered why it had in a loud restaurant. Actually, I have this restaurant for some time because of the intrusive musak that makes it really difficult to make a conversation, so most people meet to lunch."

"Our recent visit was quite disappointing. We've been fans of Mauricio Barca for some time, and friends I had invited during the pandemic really enjoyed it too. So, we decided to bring some other friends along on Friday. However, it seems something has changed recently. One of our friends found her food satisfactory, but the other felt that her aubergine parmigiana had too much cheese. I ordered the chicken saltimbocca, a dish I had enjoyed before, but this time the chicken was overcooked and excessively oily, not at all like I remembered. The worst experience was for my friend who ordered a dish she had enjoyed previously. Unfortunately, it was so dry and tough that she was convinced it wasn’t even veal. It’s evident that something has gone wrong here, and I doubt we’ll be returning."

"Grazie Vita Bella, grazie We’ve just celebrated my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary at Vita Bella at relatively short notice due to some unforeseen circumstances meaning that our original plans had to be changed. However, in hindsight it was very fortuitous that our plans had to be changed and that we ended up at Vita Bella – it’s an absolute gem of a restaurant. Food first: fresh, delicately cooked, extremely well presented – exquisite. The chef and his team are clearly passionate about the menu they deliver. Wines: a varied (but not unnecessarily overwhelming) choice. Stick to the Italian wines though – it feels somewhat inappropriate to choose anything else! Finally, service: absolutely impeccable attentive without being imposing; courteous, efficient and very professional throughout our meal – impressive considering the restaurant was full by 7:30 and remained so until we left just under 3 hours later (which should be used as a barometer of the overall quality of Vita Bella). And if like us, you think it’s only polite to engage with the staff as people rather than just seeing the staff as being there to serve you, then you’d have to go a long way to find a restaurant that you’ll feel so welcome in. To Ciprian and the team, one again – grazie. It was out first visit, but certainly won’t be our last. Cinque stelle signore."

"café tarte is one of these little gems, of which I almost do not want them to know and save it for myself and myself. tee served in caffe tarte is a special mix that the personal does not quite know what is in it itself. the baked cheesecake came in a thick watte. it smells like it's fresh from a hot oven. a chocolate-brown color on the outside with a soft crumbling floor, the filling was slightly fluffy and very smooth with a hauch of blueberries."

"Terrible service and very rude manager. Our family of was seated in the conservatory on a windy and rainy Sunday lunchtime. Unfortunately the table was placed in front of an external door which was opened and closed by waiting staff and the manager at...least times during our meal. Needless to say this was very cold and windy and sent napkins etc on the table flying each time. I politely asked the waitresses twice if there was another way they could access the table in the outside seating area. They apologised and at times used an alternative route but still continued to frequently open and close the door. Our own waitress Eloise was very polite and as helpful as possible in the circumstances. She offered to move us to another table but by this time we were half way through our meal and the kids were fully settled. Despite speaking to waiting staff twice the manager (who was amongst those continually opening the door) avoided eye contact. Eventually a guest from outside opened the door to come in and a large gust of wind ripped it off its hinges, knocking over a standard lamp on to my year old son. My husband tried to help the waitress lift the door back on to its hinges to no avail. At this stage the manager came over to try to fix the door and my husband made a comment about it being opened and closed so often on a windy day. Our waitress moved us to another table so the children could finish their desserts. The manager then came over and accosted my husband for speaking to him about the door! When my husband replied that he had avoided us until another guest broke the door and my son was hit by a lamp he simply walked away. No reduction in the bill or apology. I expressed to the waitress that we appreciated her help but the manager is terrible. Food was ok. We will not be back."

"Excellent service, fantastic staff, quality meal. Hot food and relaxed atmosphere. The stair handrail could do with painting as it was very disgusting looking, and I think their roof is having some issues as there was plastic covering it... Perhaps in need of a little work building wise, but otherwise it was a great dinner out."

"Quirky and eclectic little cafe restaurant with tasty and fresh food. We had the red Thai noodle salad and the Thai burger, both were lovely and fresh. The burger fell apart a bit and was messy but this is a common issue with these types of patties. The flavour was lovely none the less! Staff were friendly and attentive and there was a clean washroom available as well. Lots of baked goods available, though we were too full to try any."

"Bacaro is situated in Ocean village and it is a little gem of a place. It is tastefully decorated for a chilled and relaxing time that you will have. There is both a restaurant and bar area and you feel at ease in the place !! Anyway upon arrival you are always greeted with a smile by the happy bar staff which is always lovely I have always loved this place but I would only give a top rating if it deserved it and not through loyalty !! Tonight I had arancini, crayfish linguine and garlic bread, washed down with a lovely glass of house red. The arancini are just the best I have ever tasted, they are both filling but light, the taste is a joy for the taste buds and obviously highly recommended. The linguine is a good portion, I love the flavours and the way the dish is both cooked and presented, the crayfish has a subtle flavour and I never leave any of it. The garlic bread is filling and not dry, they don't skimp on the garlic butter I can't fault the food at all and never have done this is mainly due to the sublime cooking skills from the chefs Greg, Alex and all the wonderful kitchen staff. Bacaro is expertly run the effervescent manager Sophie, for the job you do and how you run Bacaro I tip my hat to you Sophie is well backed up by Matt, Eleanor, Conor, Sindija and all the other wonderful staff ... You make the place and we are grateful for the brilliant jobs you do Very highly recommend"
