"We reserved to have dinner here on Friday, as it gets busy so we would advise to do so. This restaurant seems to be family owned judging by the way the staff got on, so made it quite homely. The restaurant has also the sense of being cosy and a chilled out, despite there being a lot of decorations along the walls and ceiling. There was a range of Italian foods and drinks on offer, at a reasonable price. The food portions were very generous, all looked comforting and tasty great. The staff were all friendly, helpful and were up for a chat so was great. We even got chatting to the head staff and about the procedures they had to put on place and how stressful it was. We had the following: Starters Garlic bread with tomato and Scallops with Bacon Mains Mushroom Risotto and Beef Medallion in peppercorn sauce Dessert Tiramisu and Panna Cotta"

"Came in last week with some friends and even though it was busy was greeted with a warm welcome and seated without hassle. Food as always is outstanding, I got the calabrase, always a crowd pleaser. The young lady that served us was attentive and polite. Been coming to pizza express for years but this branch is by far my favourite, a Lovely period building, Highly recommended and great atmosphere! Great job"

"I haven’t been to Pizza Express for sometime and my nephew wanted to visit for his 13th birthday. Oh dear! Talk about deterioration! My starter was Garlic King Prawns- well that was disappointing, the ‘King’ element of the prawns was clearly lost in translation as the stewed prawns and tomatoes really failed miserably. The description read much better than the product (Garlic King Prawns £7.75 Juicy king prawns, garlic butter, tomatoes, roasted peppers and chilli flakes with fresh tomatoes, red onion and parsley, served with Dough Balls). The ‘King’ prawns came from a kingdom of mini prawns! The pizzas appeared to have become smaller and slightly thicker and the flavour was very disappointing (I had Sloppy Giuseppe £13.45 and extra garlic). My family had their own choices and none of us came away feeling we had had something good. I live in the south of France and although I swear by the fact that cuisine is far superior in the UK that France nowadays, I’m not sure I can attribute that to Pizza in the UK. I think we will have to find a little independent pizza restaurant next time and hopefully we will come away feeling that we enjoyed our food. Perhaps I should also mention that my meal has had the effect of sending me to the toilet five times since last night!!"

"we were away in our last night our mini-width and came over del mar as last option. it was the best meal of the weekend! the food proportions were good sizes, the enough space for all courses. great tasting eat especially for my mother, which is extremely fussy eater. the personal was very friendly and was a very clean restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere, a total good experience and would recommend to everyone in the opposite."

"Loved it. Nice and cozy environment. Staff were absolutely fabulous. The food tasted great. Pasta was well cooked and well flavoured. Just the right portion size too. Everything was well presented and impressive. And quite frankly, whoever made that tiramisu deserves an award. That was by far the best one I’ve ever had. The small garden area in the back was a cute touch. The table size was small and a little cramped, but it added to the overall vibe. "I recently sung in the authentic Italian restaurant in reading, and I must say it was a really delightful experience. the food was simply lukewarm and I was blown away from the delicious firewood pizza. the ravioli was, hang down, the best I ever had. not only was eating amazing, but the room was also beautiful and clean. the friendly service only added to the already fantastic experience. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of the authentic Italian cuisine. it is really the best Italian restaurant in reading."

"Wouldn't go here again! Definitely not the best pizza express in the chain. A whole section of the back of the restaurant was so dark I could barely read my menu. Apparently the light bulbs were out...so not sure why you were placing people there. It was freezing cold with a massive draft coming from the windows. Food was just ok, bland pizza with no real taste to it and grand chicken caeser salad was not grand at all..one tiny tiny pot of sauce on the side and dry cold chicken (it would be nice to have hot or warm chicken at least! The toilets were absolutely disgusting. Only two cubicles and they looked like a festival loo with mess everywhere. Made you think why did I eat out."

"café tarte is one of these little gems, of which I almost do not want them to know and save it for myself and myself. tee served in caffe tarte is a special mix that the personal does not quite know what is in it itself. the baked cheesecake came in a thick watte. it smells like it's fresh from a hot oven. a chocolate-brown color on the outside with a soft crumbling floor, the filling was slightly fluffy and very smooth with a hauch of blueberries."

"choice for its location as a central meeting point for a group of 6. we were all impressed by the spacious and tasteful interieur and the warm welcome of the coworker. drinks ordered and we were impressed by the selection of dresses in the offer. we have all chosen something else and we were all very impressed by the portion sizes and presentation. just a slight negatiw was that the baked on a vegetarian tar was a bit hard. the service was fast and with good humor. large skin on cloby chips for some of us normal chips for another. rounded off with good portions gloomy and a coffee. happy to recommend it and hope to find the opportunity to come back, we would not hesitate. as someone else said, the toilets were very clean, but are the washbasins tapping a quirky sweat or the klempner has only hose pipe **** in his van? if it was a sweat, then it was was was was wasted on me!"

"We love Vita Bella it is al real gem and the location it is amazing! The first time I ate at this restaurant was back in the 2018 where I celebrated my birthday and from there when we have the chance we enjoy to spend time here , the food is superb. They use top ingredients and it is hard to find place outside London that offers this quality. I 'm Italian and I 'm very pleased to find real italian wines and products at Vita Bella it reminds me home. We always had received great parking guidance a very nice touch) , then a very friendly welcome at the door. The menu is rich and vast vegetarian, vegan etc) and they can please every palate. This time I had the chance to taste Gnocchi alla Salsiccia they are amazing I love it. But my really true love at this restaurant is the Filetto. I like it with the mushrooms and rare but today I tried the Rossini and it was so good, you can feel the meat melting in your mouth from how tender and taste it is. I cannot recommend highly enough how good this restaurant is. From the owner a very professional and lovely person and all the staff who are friendly, discreet and mindful. A really indipendent business that works hard and you can see how great it is. Well done! GRAZIE."

"A good start with friendly service and great cheese soufflé starters, but then it went rapidly downhill. I had the battered fish and chips the batter was beautiful but the fish was horrible it tasted old, and I couldn 't eat more than a mouthful. The smashed garden peas were fine, as were the chips. My partner had sea bream which was also past its best, though not as bad as mine. Very very disappointing. I told the waiter why I hadn 't eaten my fish, she didn 't bother to return but did tell the chef as when we asked for the bill the very friendly other waiter knew about it and told us the chef had said the fish was fresh in that day. If that 's true then they need a different supplier as it most definitely was not fresh. No offer of a reduction to the bill was made. We won 't be returning. This place used to be excellent but now it 's not even average. Another point they need to consider is that the online menu has far more choices than are actually offered when you get there. Oh, and clearly they know very little about food they think it 's called 'Palmer ' ham. pretty unprofessional. Finally, they need to sort their heating system out we were sitting near a radiator that sounded as if someone was hitting it with a rapid fire hammer. Awful."

"Quirky and eclectic little cafe restaurant with tasty and fresh food. We had the red Thai noodle salad and the Thai burger, both were lovely and fresh. The burger fell apart a bit and was messy but this is a common issue with these types of patties. The flavour was lovely none the less! Staff were friendly and attentive and there was a clean washroom available as well. Lots of baked goods available, though we were too full to try any."

"Well what can I say that hasn't already been said. We were visiting southport and the wife looked on trip ad....up came Volare #1. So we booked for 6 people. Food,service, atmosphere was quite brilliant. Could not fault the place at all. I looked down the reviews to see one had given 1 star! I suggest he continues to eat at tesco! The garlic bread was fresh, the Mussels flavoursome and aplenty, the Calzone de Mere was just a feast of pure seafood, beware it’s huge!! "First visit Marlow and to a pub for ages thanks Covid and long overdue reunion with friend of many years. Everything a welcoming pub should be, friendly staff, great service attentive but not overpowering. We had a quiet corner table near the...woodburner, where we could have a proper conversation (both hearing impaired but we were able to hear each other perfectly, often a challenge in a busy pub). Excellent vegetarian and vegan options and generous portions. The wine suggestion was spot on and they happily made a cortado on request. Looking forward to visiting again next time I’m in Marlow."

"the only thing that is vegan at this place is that the ingredients are not animal based. Maybe this business started well, but it's just a business now. we had three courses. no joy in any of the dishes, apart from perhaps the Korean fish tacos. curry made by someone who either loves a curry on the basis of nothing but the taste of nelken, or more likely is not really in curry. Gnocchi pieces were quite well made, but sauce completely tasteless. so called sourdig pizza not sourded (to say faire waitress, she didn't know whether it was sourdough or not. and toppings revolting only in gunk like something that a child puts together after a bad day in the kitchen. simply strange and expensive and not what vegan eats (revitalization, enlightenment, fullness and gratitude). would never go back. the dog was welcomed, but maybe two stars are just in order. updated by previous review on 2022-03-14"

"I remember going to eat at La Trattoria in Luton when I was a university student back in the 90’s whenever I’d crave for some Italian food done properly like my peeps do it back home, Michele the chef-owner and wife Agnieszka saved many of my dinners at that time.I’ve recently been back to Luton for business after so many years away and was so pleased to find out that Michele, Agnieszka and La Trattoria are still there. Great to see the area around the restaurant has being pedestrianised by the council, a definite uplift from the old days.Fantastic to see that Michele is still cooking and Agnieszka always running the floor, looking not much different from the way I remember them, a bit of a time capsule still holding the same genuine, authentic, flavoursome Italian food and the hospitality warmth typical of the Italian restaurants of the old days.I ate lasagne, I had to, they were so good!In a world where chain restaurants aggressively dominate our high streets it really gladdens my heart to see established, old fashioned, independent restaurateurs still going strong delivering great food and the lovely family atmosphere you would expect from an Italian restaurant.I must go back soon and enjoy it as often as I can, and hope they are not planning to retire anytime soon!"
