"The last time visited this pub was getting on 30 years ago. I took a friend for her early birthday meal. My kind of menu, simple yet excellent quality food. Sausage and mash for me and pork chop for my friend, followed by Malva pudding (sticky toffee) and vanilla parfait and lime meringue for me. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff, well done all round. Back in November for my birthday."

"My friend and I needed a good old catch up and decided to go to Cafe Source as not been for a while! We were disappointed! The young waitress needed more training in customer service she asked us same questions many times....and didnt seem too confident? My friend had the Croque Monsieur and had to send back as it was cold....not even an authentic Croque Monsieur either! I was quite happy with my order of Prawn and Avocado in a bun, plenty of it and apart from salad consisting of just green leaves out a packet it was quite acceptable. My friend had a Rose wine which was tastleless and I had white wine and soda, which again was tastless. We chose to go elsewhere for coffee.....we also chose to decline the optional service charge as we didnt think deserved it!"

"I booked this for afternoon tea with friends to finish off a shopping weekend in Manchester. Following reviews on open table I thought this would be a nice way to finish our weekend. How wrong was I. When the food eventually arrived, from a distance it looked OK. Up close, not so good. The sandwiches were so dry, I thought they were toasted. I complained to the waitress who apologised and said she would speak to the chef. About 20 minutes later a tray of fresh sandwiches were brought to us which were actually ok. The scones were still frozen in the middle and the rest just wasn't very nice. The Manager did apologise and gave us a free glass of prosseco which did go down very well. It really wasn't an enjoyable experience and I would certainly not recommend this hotel as avoid place to eat."

"The service at this restaurant was terrible. It took a long time for the server to take our order, even though there were only 2 other occupied tables in the restaurant at the time. When our food arrived, we had to order more drinks ourselves, as the server did not check on us. Plates were not cleared after we finished eating, and we did not see the server again for nearly 2 hours. We had to go to the front to pay because we couldn't get anyone's attention. Despite the poor service, the food was delicious, fresh, and well-prepared. It's a shame that we cannot recommend this restaurant due to the lack of service."

"The food here was fantastic. Large portions that were cooked to perfection. When my youngest change her mind on what she wanted it was no hassle for them to get a new meal out to us that took about 2 minutes for them to prep and serve.I had the priest burger and it was excellent. I was stuffed after it and couldn't manage a pudding even though they all sounded fantastic. The staff were brilliant. Meeting us at the door, giving us time to go through the menu and easy to get attention when needed a refill on drinks. They even showed us where we could hang our dripping wet coats so that they were not on the back of our chairs."

"Well I have to say I did have it out with the manager and told him how bad it was and said I woudgo on social media bit I spent bear on100 pound for a **** experience so here's how it was so you don't get stung after reading some of the other reviews I think its right to let people know before wasting there time and money ,got there with the wife on a nice December evening and ordered a glass of red wine each ,we were served bye a young lad who gave is our drinks who was very polite and welcoming he said he had only been there a couple of months but went out of his way to make us feel welcome, nice wine awell, then the manager came over and said you can't order food at the bar until you have a table number ,ok I said can we have another wine to take to table which the young lad said I'll bring them over ,I said don't worry there's no hurry I'll wait ,the manager hurried us to a table next to a big table of eight people noisy drunk lot enjoying themselves which is fine but we are an older couple out for a quiet meal and there was only 3 full tables the place was empty lol ,stick us with the noisy lot ,anyway starters comes out missing one dish off scallops, they arrived after we said 10 minutes later ,there were 3 small scallops prise 14 quid lol ,shoudof bothered ,garlic mushrooms were not garlic mushrooms as no garlic I could taste ,my wife's salad had old flowery tasting tomatoes not fresh ,and my Mexican chicken in a mushroom sauce and rice tasted so bland and chicken over cooked was eatable but no way it was Mexican it tasted like a tesco microwave meal to be fair I eat half of it as I only had abit of toast that day and was hungry,I told the manager I was very disappointed with it all he said thanks for tge feedback, I said you should up your game here it's a nice place ,to be fair the young lad behind the bar could manage that place with good results as he knew how to treat people, but I'm sorry I won't be back as too pricey for an absolute disappointment which is a shame as such a good looking place to go ."

"We love our local spot and eat here every week. I affectionately refer to it as "Wednesday Club" with my wife. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which contributes to the wonderful atmosphere that always fills the pub. They offer a great selection of quality pub food. Highly recommended! Thank you to everyone who consistently supports us."

"We dined with friends and enjoyed a fabulous three-course lunch! For the starter, I had the tomato basil soup, followed by the pork and stuffing pie with chips, which were some of the best I've ever tasted. My partner started with pork belly bites and had chili with rice for the main course—both were perfectly portioned. We finished off with a delightful dessert of sticky toffee pudding served with a decadent sauce and a chocolate mousse topped with cherries, making for a perfect conclusion to a wonderful meal. I would definitely return! The seating was extremely comfortable, and we were lucky enough to sit by the log burner since it was quite cold outside. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend it. The service was great, and the staff were very kind!"

"Loved this place from the second we walked in! Great ales, brilliant food (I had the Steak and Wolf Ale pie, the greedy one had the lamb!! Both dishes were huge, tasty and lovely vegetables. Honestly say it is the best food served in a pub we've had...ever! Jackie was our hostess on each visit and she was professional, friendly, humerous and extremely hard working. Cannot speak any more highly of the place!"

"Had a delicious lunch yesterday at this very friendly place. The open crab sandwich and panini were very tasty. There was a large selection of herbal teas and I can certainly recommend the lemongrass and ginger. My husband enjoyed his 2 flat whites. Both the tea and coffee are locally sourced in Newcastle. The two homemade cakes we had were very yummy. We sat outside with our dog who loved the fuss they made of her and they even brought her her own water bowl. All in all a great find and we will certainly be back when visiting the area in the future."

"We had a fantastic time this weekend at the seaside grill, and all I can say is wow! The friendly assistance from Ian, Jamie, and the team in organizing our event was exceptional. The beautiful room (I can't upload pictures in this review, but I can share them if you'd like) added to the experience. The food was incredible; many guests said it was the best they had ever had. The staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive, and I don't think there are enough stars to give them for their service. Thank you—we love you all!"

"we have organized an event in the globe and I have to say we have not asked. first, the employees who were literally unable to do for us from beginning to end; not only are they all great at their jobs, but they are all so friendly and just a really funny bundle! the venue was perfectly organized for us, dimmed lights, candles around the space dotted all very atmospheric and then there was eating! the eating was excellent; timings were great, options were varied and it tasted all delicious! the tempura chicken and the chili dishes....WOW! we all can not wait to return to a recovery performance. I can't blame this place at all. many thanks to x"

"No disabled access from garage area. STAIRS! Ambience of Kind's Bar was lovely. Not noisy, comfortable heat and nice seating. Staff were unobtrusive, but helpful. The afternoon tea stand was prepared fresh, unfortunately the scones were a little on the dry side and just cream and jam, no butter. We got a special extra. It was my friends birthday and they gave us an extra portion of cake. The cherry macarons were lush, however, the pistachio ones were not so flavourful. Some unusual flavour paring, and colouring, but overall tasty and filling tea. We also had two pots of tea during the afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble for the cheerful and attentive staff. I'm going back. Great value and felt special."

"The fantastic Old Star. It 's so difficult to decide where to eat these days. Somewhere memorable, yet hopefully not feeling financially violated after the event. So many average offerings that all too often, promise much, yet so often disappoint. So the Old Star: Never been before but what a local pub. Great REAL ales, roaring fires and people, yes a busy local bar and all smiling and happy, be them eating or drinking or both. East Yorkshire offers lots of pubs and some fine dining not far away, but at significant and considerable expense. Yes they are 'dining experiences ' but food is food. This is Shining STAR pub grub at the top of the Premier League at decent 2023 prices. I have been around the block. I know much about a lot, but Asadly I think I know more about steak pies than most. Needless to say the steak pie at the Old Star was as good as any I have ever eaten. My wife 's steak was excellent and I watched others eating belly pork and burgers and all smiling, content and clearly very happy with this exceptional pub food. Set amid an old tasteful pub with fires and people selling wonderful ales. What else can I say. So glad we went. We will be back. Oh yes and lovely service and staff, with he landlady behind the bar who told me that they use their own meat from their farm. It can 't get better. GO. GO, GO"

"So glad we stopped here! We’ve walked passed so many times along the harbour and always thought it looked like a nice little spot, and boy we were right! It’s not very often you find places that know exactly what they want to achieve, exactly who they are, and the sea room delivers on this with the vibe, food, and everything inbetween! The ambience is perfect, giving the impression of an old seaside pub, but in a modern shell. The food matches this and is honestly gorgeous. The muscles had the best sauce to date, even to the point I had to drink it lol, and the sea bream special was everything you could ever want it to be, crispy skin, flakey flavoursome fish, delicious! Some things on the menu are a little pricey (buratta and broccoli) despite being very tasty, but somethings were well worth the money, almost underpriced! The drinks were equally as lush, with the service being just the right amount of attentive. Please don’t overlook this place like we did for so long, just stop by! Make it a night too, because the deserts were very very tasty"

"Poor value for money and rude service. I Have been here a few times for coffee which is good but sampled the food this time. I was hungry so chose an omelette. When it arrived, I was shocked at how small it was: about 20cm max across, less than a third of a dinner plate coverage. Not the nice sized folded over half plate that I was expecting. The bare plate was made up with a dollop of coleslaw and a bit of salad. I thought best to comment and the proprietor was very defensive and said it was a standard 2 egg omelette. Since when have omelettes been limited to 2 eggs? He then barked that he 'd never had a complaint about his omelettes in 5 years! I was hoping for some kind of ' I 'm sorry sir, is there anything i can do? I considered not paying for it and said that ' I 'd leave as an unsatisfactory customer. He didn 't seem that bothered. Either that or had poor interpersonal skills. Its a shame that service providers can 't take criticism and act to facilitate a happy outcome. I ate it in 2 mins, left dissatisfied and still hungry, left the cash on the counter and went. I chose not to engage in further dialogue as it seemed pointless and he seemed agitated rather than apologetic."

"We thought we had finally discovered a good, authentic Italian restaurant on the Fylde coast. However, we were disappointed. The atmosphere on a Thursday evening was loud, making it necessary to shout to have a conversation. The Italian minestrone soup we ordered did not meet our expectations. The risotto was overcooked, resembling rice pudding in texture. The carbonara was bland. This was our first and last time dining at this establishment. Service: Dine in."

"Overall: **. We made a reservation online for a restaurant located half a mile away, only to arrive and find it closed. The staff were unaware of our booking through the app. I later received an email informing us that they had checked us in. I can only give them one star, as there is no option for a negative rating. I would not recommend using this website or visiting this restaurant unless you are prepared to travel far from home to eat."
