"Yesterday we had a staff Christmas lunch and it was wonderful. I loved the decorations, they were very thoughtful. I love how we had 2 separate long tables, the layout was great. The food was tasty as always and everyone else enjoyed their meal. The staff were very kind with their service. Thank you to all of the staff that was involved with preparing our Christmas menu, it was a very enjoyable. Finally, I definitely recommend The Globe Pub."

"Went for afternoon tea. While the location is lovely, the overall experience was disappointing. The sandwiches were bland, the bread dried out and obviously not freshly made. The place was empty so obviously not busy but the service was patchy at best. I requested herbal tea (camomile) and the server struggled with this request and the pronunciation. She also didn't come back once to check on us and see if we needed anything else. We were seated in a bar and had to endure the TV blaring the whole time, which wasn't conducive to a relaxing atmosphere. The only thing I could really commend was the toilets, which were spotless and beautifully designed. Hugely disappointed as this was a birthday treat from my friend. Wouldn't recommend and won't be back."

"A beautiful old pub, in a beautifil village. We were out on a Sunday, and just wanted a light lunch eg sandwiches etc, not a full on roast. We tried 2 or 3 places, but they were only serving a Sunday roast. So we phoned The Old Star, and a lovely young lady said they could accommodate us, and would be happy to make us some baguettes, with the roast meats. The food was delicious and the same lady served us, her name is Darcey, and she was so lovely and made us feel really welcome. We will definitely be going back, for a proper meal, very soon."

"I was visiting the area scouting for a new place since I was moving there for work. I stumbled on this breakfast place and wow, I was so pleasantly surprised! The exterior is very simple, as it the interior. The waitstaff was attentive and the menu was really refreshing. I ordered an omelette and to my surprise it cam with a greens salad with a very soft vinegerette dressing! Let me tell you, it worked and felt so healthy vs. skillet potatoes or bread filler. Don't get me wrong, I had my bacon, too and it was thick and cooked perfectly. I was only there for the weekend, but we enjoyed it so much we went back the second day!"

"My wife and I just stayed here for 3 nights, staying in one of the superior pods. The accommodation was really lovely, well set up, clean and comfortable. But what you're here for is the all important food. During our stay we had breakfast included so ate here each morning. The breakfast is a buffet style setup which includes bread/toast, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and a variety of cereals (plus other non-vegan options). If you let them know you're vegan, they'll also bring non-dairy milk, vegan spread, vegan sausages and hash browns to your table. For dinner there were a number of options, but I had their pizza which includes vegan sausage bits, garlic sauce, onion etc and was really tasty. I also had their vegan burger which consistency wise was more like a traditional veggie burger but it came with a great salad, chips and sauce. There was also a curry which my wife went for which I tried and was great but I dove back in for another pizza."

"Poor value for money and rude service. I Have been here a few times for coffee which is good but sampled the food this time. I was hungry so chose an omelette. When it arrived, I was shocked at how small it was: about 20cm max across, less than a third of a dinner plate coverage. Not the nice sized folded over half plate that I was expecting. The bare plate was made up with a dollop of coleslaw and a bit of salad. I thought best to comment and the proprietor was very defensive and said it was a standard 2 egg omelette. Since when have omelettes been limited to 2 eggs? He then barked that he 'd never had a complaint about his omelettes in 5 years! I was hoping for some kind of ' I 'm sorry sir, is there anything i can do? I considered not paying for it and said that ' I 'd leave as an unsatisfactory customer. He didn 't seem that bothered. Either that or had poor interpersonal skills. Its a shame that service providers can 't take criticism and act to facilitate a happy outcome. I ate it in 2 mins, left dissatisfied and still hungry, left the cash on the counter and went. I chose not to engage in further dialogue as it seemed pointless and he seemed agitated rather than apologetic."

"we were for a quiet/light evening meal of tapas red wine and also with a large group of people, and enjoyed both visits very much. the staff is beautiful, very friendly and courteous copied admirable when there were many of us (danke, james, sam and emily, we applaud them)! the tapas were delicious at both locations with good vegetarian options, and the place is very welcoming, some nice cozy sessel low tables and larger tables. delicious small crispy Italian baked. there are still much more food options, but these are our tested! more beautiful place, informal yet stylish and very welcoming. we're coming back!"

"Super place for good, simple food in a warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Very clean. Staff extremely helpful the cook even came out from the kitchen as we'd asked how the delicious Beef in Guinness with Colcannon (their special that evening) was made. We had a dog with us, so ate in the pub bit rather than in their dining room, and it was delightful a number of very pleasant customers, young and old, enjoying it AND NO JUKEBOX!!! Other things on the menu burgers (with lots of fabulous sauces), pizza, fish chips, another special (boeuf bourguignon), etc."

"we were about 6 different pubs in the opposite, and no served up to 6 (without warnings online). with a hungry pregnant woman I was close to losing my life, but the ock n dough saved my skin. we thought they wouldn't let dogs in, but they actually invited us to the house when they noticed we were out. really simple app to order, nice eating and personal there. very very happy with experience, thoroughly recommend and will go again before we go"

"Brilliant selection of vegan and vegetarian. Particularly impressed with the veggie and vegan breakfasts. Usually the meaty items are swapped out for a tomato and mushrooms and I never feel they are as much value as the meat options. However, the meat items are straight swapped for vegan/veggie alternatives, so you still get bacon and black pudding/haggis and sausage. And it is delicious. Lovely staff and great service. Seasonal additions to the menu are nice as well. Website prices are higher than actual costs (example, the Groupon deal says a breakfast is near £12, it is nearer £8). Delicious selection of cakes and treats as well."

"What a wonderful find! We had no idea about the Yellow Deli before our visit, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. The staff was beautiful, friendly, and welcoming, and the menu was fantastic, offering absolutely delicious food. The Deli Rose sandwich is phenomenal, and as we've been told, it's the same recipe that has been used for decades. It’s easy to see why—they don't fix what isn't broken! The prices are reasonable, and the restrooms are lovely as well. The ethos of the community behind the Yellow Deli shines through, creating a relaxed and memorable experience. We will definitely be back to try more of the beautifully described dishes!"

"Visited this lunch time with my mum and nephew, ordered two breakfasts and a kids meal. The lady at the counter was lovely and polite. We sat towards the back at first, but we moved as the there was a very cold breeze coming from the door they left wide open. The food came looking like it had been thrown on the plate, the “toast” was warm bread shoved on top of the beans so it was soggy. The sausages were hard and clearly been deep fried, the hash browns were hard and greasy from being deep fried, the bacon was basically raw with stringy fat on it, the mushrooms that way paid £1.25 extra for were also deep fried! The egg was snotty and the beans were the only thing that wasn’t deep fried!! The “grilled tomato” was raw (probably because they couldn’t deep fry it). Tried to eat it as I have been brought up to not waist my food, I only managed a few mouth fulls and the warm bread. The kids meal was fine, he enjoyed it. However, we will not be returning for the breakfast and a hot drink we paid ten ponds each for, had better breakfasts in greasy spoons. Very disappointing as it looks like a nice place to go eat."

"Wonderful atmosphere. When we arrived there was a piper playing tunes, who was friendly and was very nice when taking a photo with. I've been inside the castle twice, one time in 2022 and now in 2023. The castle is unchanging, which is positive. Nothing is dirty or dusty, standards are high. The audioguides are great and informative. It takes around 30-55 minutes to get through the entire castle with audio guides. There are 2 gift shops with similar products, which is nice. Gives you proper time to browse everything, as the store located in the exit of the castle is normally crowded. Staff is super nice, politely telling you not to take pictures with flash and where to go. Also very nice in the shops located in the castle, will help you reach things off the shelves if you can't."

"one of my men and mine is on the go whether it's breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. they have an appetizer menu that is really good and the specials are always fantastic and served only during these times. I think it's like 2 courses for £10-£15 and free coffee refills. Fav dishes? uou wobbles soup safe. it's the proper way. the fish soup! oh, that's my lunch I usually command, and it's not too fish. And I love snails (but I guess not many people do, so I won't say much about it). everything with her blue cheese sauce! also in winter they have truthahn with blue cheese sauce (and I don't like truthahn). and do not let them be set with blue cheese. it is not very blue. more cheating with the salty kick. oh and their kartoffels that come with the men? dessert? my man loves the chocolate cake (a bit too chocolaty for me). Of course, the cream brûlée is great. but foreseeing it is a really great part and being a French place? forget the order of a special kind of wein. her table wine is very good. last? no food evaluation. some of the waiters have right beating! hmmmm, lol."

"Visited Desvins while I had some time to spare. After seating myself was promptly approached by a server, who took my order. I ordered a champagne cocktail and the coq au vin. It was simply divine. However, the only downside to the afternoon was that, while eating, i was not offered any refreshment even when my glass was empty, even when trying to signal for service. They have some fantastic staff in the kitchen. Well worth coming for a bite to eat even if the servers seem a little inexperienced."
