"This was my first visit to the restaurant since they changed to a Sunday menu. The bottomless starter still had a great selection and quality. I enjoyed the three turkey roasts and one beef roast that I selected, but I would have preferred to eat from a regular plate rather than a wooden one. The dessert choice was a breakfast brunch which was satisfying this time. It would have been nice if ice was included in the price. The staff was fantastic - friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be returning."

"I adore this pub, it's such a lovely spot. The bar staff are friendly and the selection of wines, spirits, and beers is fantastic. Most importantly, the service is top-notch."

"DisgustEd and utter disappointment in the way my party of four were treated . I had booked a table for 4 people at midday as a treat for my parents before going to Strickly come dancing today. when we arrived there was a board closing of the restaurant and so we went into the bar where we approached and told the restaurant was going to be full with an oil company function and waved away to find ourselves a table in the bar. My parents are elderly and can not manage up to the high tables so we eventually found a round table for the four of us to sit. The table and chairs were dirty and covered with food. I had to go and find someone to come and clean the table and chairs. We chose our food and after a while went to the bar to see if someone was going to serve us to discover we had to order at the bar. The final straw was when we tried to order they didn’t have what we would like for our meal. There was no explanation or apologies for not having a table for us in the restaurant, for the table and chairs being dirty, no service or explanation that we had to order our food at the bar and no apology for not having what we would like to order for our meal. We collected our jackets and left. We had a lovely meal with great service elsewhere. Totally appalled at the lack of customer service and when speaking to others it would appear we are not the only ones."

"I had a wonderful time with my girlfriend at the restaurant. The staff were very pleasant and professional, and we were warmly welcomed by Mia, who was both funny and friendly. We really enjoyed the large portions of food and the cocktails."

"I go to The Plough fairly regularly for food and drinks but always leave feeling a little underwhelmed and overcharged. The ambience and atmosphere is always great; both inside and outside you’ll get a great buzz and a pleasant place to sit. The menu is on paper excellent. I’ve eaten there for brunch and dinner and there is something for everyone. Most recently I had a full English there. It cost £16 and the plate was mostly filled with pretty sorry looking undercooked mushrooms and tomatoes. The one sausage was very nice but the streaky bacon was a bit chewy. For £16 it was underwhelming, which is a theme that translates to the dinner menu as well. You rarely feel like the food matches the price tag. This overpricing extends to drinks as well, which are far more expensive than in similar local gastropubs. I lot of people like The Plough and I can see why but if you’re into food there are better local options that won’t hurt your wallet as much."

"Fine food and Issues Decided to visit as the reviews were mainly great. Arrived to find it looked ten minutes after due to be open. They were just opening the door. I went in and quickly used the toilet, not flushed by last person that used it! It's a well laid out, well decorated restaurant. I chose the Escargots as my starter, well cooked with a very small amount of sauce sadly no tongs to hold the shell. They were 6 very nice molluscs. The main was an absolutely sensational tasty seafood salad. Interesting dressing on a generous variety of sea food and nice salad. I had ordered a lime and soda, it transpired they had no lime so someone went out to buy some and could only get lemon, which was ok. When it came to the desert I liked the idea of four of them but ordered the lemon tart. A few minutes later the lady running front of house (I later discovered it was her first day in post!! Returned hugely apologetic telling me sadly they had no lemon tart. I chose the cherry clafouti and a few minutes later the young lady came back devastated to tell me they had none of that either! I eventually had a brownie, which she didn't charge me for. Must confess it didn't excite and the supplied ice cream was quite crystallised as if it had been refrozen. The table next to me were told they had no more Escargot, so clearly they opened with only one portion available. Front of house was good, 2/3 of the food I had was great but clearly someone needs to sort out the kitchen too many problems to give customers confidence of availability. Was it worth the trip? Oh yes but they have some serious organisational issues to resolve."

"I have been dining here for a number of years, fairly regularly. The personalised service by the family run business is always outstanding. The food is the main draw...and boy is it worth it. Having experienced many of the restaurants offering what would seem like a simple cuisine...only few have really mastered the consistent quality and taste. The recent change to their Chip supplier has propelled the chips to a whole different level... The battered Cod and haddock are absolutely super light and crispy on the outside with succulent white flesh on the inside. To round up....the traditional apple crumble with warm custard....will remind you of the glorious days of your youth....or be a pleasant surprise if you are tasting this British desert for the very first time... All in all a super place to enjoy the best fish and chips in London And oh....don't forget the pickled onion and gherkins!!"

"Dropped in about for a drink before visiting Blocks Steakhouse next door. Was able to get a table and friendly staff showed us to a nice room upstairs. Service was quick and good, not like some places during bank holiday week. Plenty of staff and it was easy for anyone to order more drinks whenever they wanted. About hand pulls and lots of other beers and drink options. Was advertising outdoor terraces although we didn't see them as we were happy in doors. Very good Covid measures. Highly recommended."

"This was my second visit, and I was once again impressed. The freshly prepared food offers great value, and the friendly service from the waitress made the experience even better. I couldn't find anything to criticize. The grill items, salads, hummus, and delicious fresh bread were all wonderful. We definitely plan to return!"

"A couple of us called in here early on a Thursday afternoon and had a really nice time. In this historic part of the city, there is a nice outside seating area which we started at. Unfortunately, the rains came and we had to go inside, but the interior of the pub is also very nice indeed. The service was great. There is an excellent selection of beers and we were struggling to choose so the barman voluntarily gave us a couple of tests which was much appreciated. Not a part of Manchester we come too often, but maybe another visit is on the cards as we really enjoyed being in among such history."

"I had a hungry teenager with me on the train ride from Newcastle and there were no gluten-free or oat-free options available. After a quick Google search, we found this restaurant and went straight there from the station. It's a small place, but we arrived at 11:30 and were able to get a table for two. The server was extremely kind and explained all the menu options to us, going the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. Our food arrived quickly - a full breakfast and a sausage and egg sandwich, both of which were delicious. The restaurant quickly filled up with other gluten-free customers, making it a bit of a Mecca for those with coeliac disease. I would definitely recommend this place. Thanks to a full stomach, my teenager was happy and we had a wonderful day in Edinburgh."

"we ate with 3 grandchildren on Saturday night. we have not expected that in an adjacent room we have a boxing session in full, and the resulting noise and general disturbances. no table service, and the bar service was average, with a worker more interest in looking for their phone. a family group allowed their children to rush around the dining room, which was unacceptable. Eating was good."

"The service at this restaurant was extremely slow. We waited a long time to place our order, and then had to wait even longer to receive our dishes. The staff on duty seemed to be overwhelmed and the restaurant was understaffed for the weekend rush. While the starters were decent, the main meals took too long to arrive, testing our patience. One of the main dishes was overcooked and the other was lacking in ingredients. When we raised our concerns, the chef did come to our table to listen to our feedback. However, with only 2 chefs in the kitchen, it was understandable why there were delays and mistakes. Despite the potential of this restaurant, I would suggest looking for other dining options until they address their staffing issues."

"A wellknown Italian restaurant in Birmingham, Cielo has been in Brindleyplace for eleven years, and changes up its fixed menu every fortnight to provide diners with flexibility. But does this constant change fit with the challenge of delivering truly authentic Italian dishes?AtmosphereThe warm smell of garlic pounced right at our nose as we took the first step inside Cielo, the aroma building up as we waited to be seated. The decoration is fairly simple and modern, featuring suede textured wallpaper, dim lighting, and a calmly flowing water feature.FoodWe started off with the Cestino di Pane – a selection of warm freshly baked bread. Two of the four rolls bore rustic toppings...read more"

"the oliven tree is located in a counter that has increased its profile due to its proximity to the places that have visited the only way essex. nu bar and luxe (owned by lock) is on the road. is this an entertaining destination for food? should it be only for the TOWIE fans who want to be close to their götzen? Do the natives really go out there? well, all these will be answered in a short time only was it a Friday in the januar when I left. it was quite early in the evening, so the roads were quiet and the restaurant just started with its first wave of guests. the restaurant is clean and modern, with space for a live jazz set. we sat at the bar. the staff...read more"

"We popped our heads in Saturday afternoon and asked if we could book a table for the evening at 8.30pm, no sorry have to be earlier as we have to be cleared up by 9pm. So we arrived earlier 8pm.....table wasn 't really made up for the type of restaurant it was...no glasses etc. Ordered our drinks and food (with a young lady, very nice)... My Glass of Merlot was then bought to the table by a young lad....in an ice cream sundae type of small glass!!......mmmmmmm for an italian restaurant they should know how to serve their wines.....I called over a more senior lady and asked if I could have my Wine in a proper wine glass...she sort of stared at me and tooted...my husband asked me, did she just toot ?? I said yes but thought it was in annoyance with her staff.....how wrong was I!!...they were serving all their wine in these glasses.....all for under measuring....my glass didn 't hold the volume I paid for... Food was good...shame!!! we won 't go back because of the way we were treated..... Also loads of locals were coming in and being served after 9pm..mmmmmm"

"Good Italian, nice outdoor covered yet open option for this phase of lockdown easing. Didn't get all the drinks ordered and had to ask twice for the beer that we did get, hence slight mark down on service, but otherwise excellent"
