"I was excited to visit this restaurant, as I had a great experience at the Covent Garden location a few years ago. However, I was taken aback by the £100 set menu on a Friday night, as I had assumed we would have options from the a la carte menu. The waitress was accommodating, but we decided to go for the £100 menu thinking we would get something special. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food and found it underwhelming. The bream starter was delicious, as was the monkfish, but overall we felt the meal was overpriced for a Friday evening. The ambiance was lovely and our waitress provided attentive service. Perhaps the restaurant offers better value during the week or for lunch."

"eating is well overpriced almost 20 for a small pasta with almost every prawn on it, I mean it was maybe a prawn and was very fast finished, a steak that is tiny and they serve it in pieces cut so they can not see the size, but is very small. and they need to order chips on the side, what makes it a 30 pound dress as. the.steai was 23 and the steak was too small. the condition of the toilets is also very bad, I would avoid it. the online menu and the menu in the restaurant menu and the online menu were not the same, so no repetition for me."

"This visit has not been up to scratch. The food was almost as good as usual. Almost. However the atmosphere created by the boxes in front of the counter and some kind of chaos created by different things scattered, it was not what you would expect to see from Macellaio. There was also an alarm or something loudly beeping every few minutes. All together it did not give a relaxing atmosphere int he restaurant. We will probably wait few months before coming back"

"Located easily, this restaurant is beautiful, bright, and spacious with plenty of seating inside. The main entrance has a small flight of 3 stairs, which could be an issue for those in a wheelchair. We didn't check for an accessible entry, but there may be one available. Despite being on a busy road, it was not noisy and there was no background music playing. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly throughout our meal, without being intrusive. The menu had a great selection, including many gluten-free and dairy-free options. The food arrived quickly after ordering and the portions were generous. Everything we tried was delicious, though the prices may be slightly higher than average. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would definitely return in the future."

"I had a confirmed reservation, but when I arrived, I was informed that the restaurant was closed due to the absence of a cook. I understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur and it's not necessarily the restaurant's fault. However, it was frustrating that they didn't reach out to inform me about the cancellation of my booking. I made a special trip to dine there, which ended up being a waste of both time and money. To make matters worse, it was pouring rain, making it quite challenging to find an alternative restaurant at the last minute!"

"In a part of London that isn’t exactly bereft of Italian restaurants – Enoteca da Luca is a real gem. I thought I knew this part of the City quite well but Devonshire Square came as a pleasant surprise. A really good example of how to develop a former Georgian warehouse. Enoteca da Luca is essentially two establishments – a wine bar and directly opposite, a more formal restaurant. It’s not the kind of place where the staff brandish giant pepper grinders, or have cheesy mandolin music in the background – it’s modern Italian in character, that’s very stylish indeed. The food we had was simply wonderful – all of it. We started with the mixed cured meats and cheeses for two. The contents were in superb condition and of a very high quality. This should be the standard in every Italian restaurant but two experiences of late proved it can also be disastrous. One branch of a well known Italian chain delivered something bordering inedible and last week, we paid only a couple of pounds less for ten wafer thin slices of salami (albeit good quality). This starter was the perfect appetiser. Choosing that starter was difficult as I had my eyes on porchetta from the menu and memories of Roman porchetta came flooding back. Incidentally, when I mentioned this to the excellent manager, he brought the porchetta out from the kitchen for me to see in all its glory. Guess what I will be having on our next visit? I didn’t choseit on this occasion as one of the main courses was Suckling Pig and again – I just couldn’t resist. That pork was simply outstanding. We make a big deal about pork in England and its accompanying “crackling” but trust me – it doesn’t even come close to this. The whole thing was spectacular. The same could be said for my wife’s rather safe choice of Chicken Milanese which again, is a simple dish but so difficult to get right. This had the crisp breadcrumb coating but the meat within was still wonderfully moist. My wife had the Pear and Ricotta cake for dessert, which like the rest of the meal was excellent. I had a glass of Vinsanto with some cantucci – hard to get that wrong really. The wine list is concise and has a good selection by the glass. For us, it was the inclusion of three examples of our favourite Italian grape variety – Primitivo. This grape varietal is looked down upon by “the trade” for its “fruit forward”, sweetish style. They seem to prefer the more drier style of wine but we know what we like and we like Primitivo. This example (Collezione 50 from San Marzano) was excellent. Service was friendly, very efficient and thoroughly professional. It’s only a five minute walk from the terminus of our local tube line at Aldgate, so the chances of us returning are 100%. An excellent establishment."

"First time visiting, made a last minute reservation mentioning husbands birthday and when we arrived half an hour later our table was wating for us with balloons. Nice little touch that makes a difference. The food and service were impeccable and we will most definitely be returning on our next visit to Harrogate."

"Awful. To clarify, drinks were great, starters great and steaks cooked perfectly. Overall experience =terrible. Starter oysters for him, tomato mozzarella salad for her. Salad delivered to table 5 mins before oysters. Why? Both cold starters? Main two fillets, chips and onion rings. Steaks beautiful and delicious. No sides ever arrived. Drinks beer, Prosecco and cocktail all fine. Bill it charged for sides. Waitress asked when delivering bill if we wanted anything else and when we said “no” she said “thank goodness”! We complained on paying bill about lack of service and lack of sides. 10% off bill. Accepted but terribly disappointed as was our 7year Ann dinner. £110 for awful experience."

"My partner and I hired The Prince of Wales for my 40th birthday. We hired the dinning area downstairs which is perfect to buy drinks at the bar, toilets nearby and exit door for the smokers. We had set menu buffet and added some extras which I would recommend. My guests enjoyed the food with favourite being mini burgers. The staff were lovely and always around for when we needed. The pub has a lovely ambience perfect for different events at a reasonable price. My guests and I had a lovely time, would definitely recommend."

"This restaurant is a hidden gem. My friend and I stopped by after a 4-day wild camping trip in the woods, and despite our disheveled appearance, we were warmly welcomed. Although the kitchen was closed, we were directed to the Abergavenny Arms and received excellent service from the lady at the bar. We had previously met a gentleman who we believe is the owner, and he provided us with some interesting information about the building's history. Thank you very much! Price range: £1-10 per person. Food: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars"

"This place feels more like a nightclub after hours with dining rather than a traditional restaurant, as evidenced by the disco ball, glitter decorations, and loud music. It's an okay spot if you're looking for a fun night out and are on the younger side. However, most of the long benches were quite uncomfortable, and we were lucky to be seated at one of the few tables with actual chairs. Unfortunately, our starters were disappointing, but the risotto and pasta dishes were outstanding."

"Whistle Stop Barber Shop is relatively new and resides in the former residence of Rascals, across the road from Old College on South Bridge. Another voucher deal brought us here, offering two burgers, pizzas or hot dogs plus a cocktail from a limited set of 4 for £14. The venue was welcoming, with muted tones and barber paraphernalia adorning the walls. Friendly staff gave us the menus. The cocktail offering from the deal was short (although we could see the main cocktail menu on the table so new we'd probably order more later). I opted for the Pina daiquiri, which was essentially rum, pineapple and lime and my friend went for a poire soiree, which was a great combination of vodka, lime...read more"

"my short review will be a hymn for a dish that is served by this tiny vegan friend area on whitecross road, and that is their vegan-baked falafel, aubergine and red pfeffer casserole. I really believe that all the other dishes in their Mediterranean inspired menu are redundant, as nothing of this delicious and nutritious dish that is so delicious can beat as it is harmless for such sensitive meat, gluten and milk averse superfoodies as me. the best news is that they can get it as a take for a fraction of the price: with other words, not only all other dishes in this caffe, but the caffe itself seems redundant, as I prefer to pay the half of the price and eat en plein air' in...read more"

"We had a fantastic dining experience here! The food was excellent, with thoughtful and polished presentation. The cocktails and tea were also delightful, and the desserts were top-notch. Our waiter truly enhanced our experience; he was attentive to detail and anticipated our needs without us having to ask. His passion for the food and drinks made our interactions enjoyable. However, the two ladies at the entrance didn't seem quite as attentive. One of them asked about our dessert order but wasn't clear on the sorbet flavors. Additionally, when we were leaving, we had several bags to carry, and the lady at the door didn't even open it for us. Overall, it was a wonderful meal, but a little more attention from the staff at the door would have made it perfect."

"the most popular Turkish restaurant in the upper street offers them the pasha delicious food to competitive trips, in an elegant environment, with a great, professional service. the place is perfect for termine or a beautiful meal with friend, fantastic if you want to impress something and somewhere. I have to taste the lamb liver, the ischander and the schissian and was really happy with my eating, melt-in-my mouth-suck! the portions are on the big side and you will also exaggerate when sharing. there are many restaurants in the upper street, pasha is worth a visit!"

"I gave the service 2 stars because on the waitress dropped the food and went without saying what it was. we tried to call her back, but she didn't even make eye contact before she left. we had to advise who eats, it was a matter of origin when we asked another waitress, they said they were not safe. we appreciate it was busy, but when I asked for more soße, I thought it would come with my meal. I asked 2 other waiters and it never came. One of the people I ordered with 2 mosquito tails ordered. they never came and when he asked another waitress, they said they had run out and offered koks. I feel like if we had never asked another waitress, he would have been charged for something he would never have received, or he would not have said they had run out. that was nice to eat."

"I rated the service 2 stars because the waitress dropped off our food without telling us what it was. When we tried to get her attention to ask, she didn't even look at us as she walked away. We had to guess who should eat what, and when we asked another waitress for clarification, she informed us that it wasn’t safe to eat. We understand it was a busy night, but when I requested more sauce, I assumed it would be brought out with my meal. I asked two other waitstaff, and it never arrived. One person in our party ordered two mosquito tails, but they never came. When he inquired with another waitress, she said they were out and offered him a Coke instead. It feels like if we hadn’t asked someone else, he might have been charged for a dish he never received, or at the very least, we wouldn’t have been informed that it was unavailable. Despite the service issues, the food itself was quite enjoyable."

"From the moment we arrived, our experience at this restaurant was delightful. Tucked away in a peaceful area of the Buda hills, we entered through a charming private garden that surely blooms beautifully in the summer. The interior exuded early 20th century elegance, complete with a wood-paneled dining room and a baby grand piano. The menu offered a sophisticated take on traditional Hungarian dishes, using only the finest ingredients and presenting them generously. We enjoyed starters of goose pate, rillette, and smoked breast, followed by mains of goose and veal that were equally elegant. The Hungarian wines recommended to us were excellent, including a Cabernet Franc that could rival those from Bordeaux. For dessert, the chef prepared a lovely cheese plate with Feta, Brie, and a local cheese, accompanied by fruit, nuts, and toasted bread. A pianist arrived during our meal, playing classic jazz and show tunes, adding to the enchanting atmosphere. The quality of the food, service, and ambiance far exceeded our expectations, and we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable bill at the end of our meal. This restaurant truly offers a dining experience reminiscent of a bygone era."
