Chop House Market Street

A great find near the Edinburgh Old Town. Steak is fantastic, side are delicious and the cocktail are so tasty. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Modern decor set within an old arch. As well as lunch and dinner they do weekend brunch and a Sunday roast!

the first time to chop house in edinburgh for a wee lunch break and enjoy it! the steak sordough, which was cooked in perfection and the taste of the bone mark engraving was so free. the part was simple enough, although I hope he's a little bigger. with a bottle of red wine for three. good value for money!

Tried rump steak instead of my usual fillet or ribeye; unfortunately, it was too chewy. The mushroom side was so delicious, but the slaw was bland and dry, needing more sauce or mayo. On a positive note, Chop House craft lager impressed me, despite not being a beer person. Friendly and helpful staff. I'd return to explore their other dishes.

dinner at the theatre of this restaurant was set up in one of the old railway arches in the east market street and was developed to make the best use of the tunnel shape. the personal was warm and welcoming at the arrival, the sitting was comfortable and the menu includes a wide selection of taste. the quality of eating was top class and four very happy people enjoyed the culinary experience.

My partner and I attended this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and we were extremely satisfied. The staff offered us a complimentary glass of prosecco as we waited for our table. The food was delicious and the staff were very courteous. I highly recommend the sirloin with mac and cheese, as well as the potatoes. The dessert was satisfactory. Please note that the service charge is not included.

The overall experience at this restaurant was mediocre, especially considering the price. The food was good, but the service was lackluster and the servers didn't seem very attentive. The steaks were overdone when they arrived, so we had to send them back. It took at least 20 minutes to get new steaks, and by then we had already eaten half of our sides. The restaurant did bring out fresh sides with the new steaks, but by that point our appetite had waned after waiting a total of 45 minutes for our meals and finishing our drinks. When a restaurant specializes in steaks, one would expect them to get it right the first time, which was the main reason we had chosen to dine there.

Firstly, atmosphere. The arch literally melts away with a unique hanging couch design i haven 't seen anywhere in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Scotland, the tables are notably well placed although it may seem a little far to reach for some it lends to good posture and comfort. And before I talk about the food, let 's address the amazing service, i often struggle with the Scottish service sector, few can deny that some scots just shouldn 't. But this is something else, not overly attentive, but accommodating and delightful, will chat and follow up but don 't push it or disturb.
