"Food is tasty (not fantastic) and the cost of £10.90 for a take away of 1 main and 3 sides is on the pricey side. However my issue with this place is the way the food is served... slapped on a plate (or in a box) like a dogs dinner. I just went in there to get my lunch and had to ask the server to please not put the salad (that has oil and dressing) over my mains (pasta) and broccoli slide. She looked at me as if I club baby seals to death for a living. I made the mistake of wanting some hummus with my salad... Big mistake as this was slapped all over my pasta, broccoli and salad. I was not impressed and the box was dirty on the outside from the mess she made. She then closed the box and slapped this on the counter in disgust with a grunt, as if I had asked her the most awful thing in the world... Also, the food is cold, so if you get the pasta, chicken or veg sides it's not warm... it's cold! Suffice to say I won't be getting my food here again..."

"we shared a big wing, they were the best we had in a long time. the Asian salmon and the classic burgers were very good. all left off the service, a table of 4, which came in well 10 minutes after us served before us and my head of Asian salmon came with the starter. I sent it back, but I'm almost sure that the same dish was served when we finished our starter when it was warm."

"edited assessment. yesterday again visited and got the steak halloumi and chicken halloumi wraps ... perfection, every bite would still say it is not cheap, but for quality and taste, definitiw five stars, and again, staff were excellent. probably controversial, but I think that's preferred to huh over the steak. had to increase from the stars for the first time in slims healthy kitchen, but the famous steak and halloumi wrap was aware. staff very friendly and helpful, place immaculate clean and service prompt. Sweet potato friries were great, as good as I had somewhere, and the garlic sauce in the pack, and the halloumi were absolutely perfect. steak was rarely cooked on request, only had to share my knife to certain, and the long strands of steak were not perfect for eating in a pack. was very tasty tho. also not the cheapest, but can see why it is a popular place."

"My husband and I booked a table here for our anniversary. Venue and atmosphere are both lovely. I stuck to the same cocktail and my husband sampled a couple. All very nice. The food however was not so great. The charcuterie board was ok but nothing special. I ordered veal which ordinarily I wouldn't but I was feeling adventurous. It smelt and tasted like roast pork which was not enjoyable, and also not how it should taste. Also a couple of the potatoes I got with it where rotten. My husband ordered the chicken which was essentially a large chicken Kiev. We both tried each others food but neither of us enjoyed it and I'm not a fussy eater. We shared a dessert which was the baked cheesecake and that was very nice. I would recommend coming here for drinks and the atmosphere. The live music was to a high standard and the staff where friendly but I definitely would not eat here again. A lot of money spent on a very disappointing meal."

"before my naked famous concert there were some time to kill, so I went into the seemingly busy – and popular – fatburger in camden town. as it was on Tuesday, there was a special promotion with an additional plump with each burger. yes! I went for the crispy chicken sandwich and a side of the fat fries but disappointment! there was about a minute waiting for the food and when it arrived, it looked good, but it didn't taste good. the chicken has a crispy, fried crispy and inside was meat, but it was bone dry with not a single sense of a juice. more mayo (or even salate, I dare to say) was urgently needed and the riders also suffered the same problems, it was dry and a hard eating. I...read more"

"Wouldn 't go again! The food was average at best, the young waitress was beyond rude, the best but about our meal was the location of the table we sat on. When we arrived the last behind the bar was lovely and took our drinks order then we were shown to our table. We sat upstairs, the menu choice is not brilliant. Nevertheless we ordered our meal, it didn 't take long to come and it was ok average food you could get in any pub but overpriced for what it was. When it came to dessert we ordered at the bar (Nutella waffle with strawberries and ice cream) we asked for extra strawberries when ordering. When the waitress brought it out there was only 1 strawberry on the plate, I asked her why there was only 1 and she replied with attitude, well we don 't have any more I then told her we had asked for extra strawberries at the time of ordering and there wasn 't even the basic amount on the plate. She then came back with well they should have told you at the bar we didn 't have them she then proceeded to throw the spoons on the table turned and walked away. No apologies just bad attitude. This place really needs to teach their staff how to speak to customers. Then eating the dessert the waffle was hard and dry, the best part was the Nutella and that just came out of the jar! Seriously don 't waste your time and money on this place, first and last time myself and friends will be eating here."

"My boyfriend and I were staying in Corstophine for one night during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and went out looking for the one Italian restaurant the girl at our hotel told us was nearby. We didn't find it, but as we were about to give up and succumb to the McDonald's Golden Arches, we spotted the Redwood Bistro. So, so glad we did! What was apparently once a family house has been converted into a seriously welcoming but cool little restaurant, offering Californian fusion food that was by far the best meal we had in Edinburgh! We both had the ras el hanout spiced flank steak with bulgar wheat salad and the kitchen also very generously let me have a side of broccoli that was on the lunch menu (we were there in the evening). Pretty much everything on the menu has gluten free/vegetarian/vegan variants too. While we ended up spending a little more than we intended to that evening, the meal was reasonably priced, especially considering the standard of the food. If you want something a little different for a special night this bistro would be ideal too. I didn't catch the name of the lady who served us, but she was so accommodating and lovely. She recommended a red wine to my boyfriend that he really enjoyed (I don't drink red, so I'll have to take his word for it) and was very attentive. Would 100% return if we're ever back up in the area."

"Absolutely fantastic experience at this B and B! We contacted them beforehand to ask if they had any vegan options for breakfast and they said that they would get some bits in for us. When we arrived we were greeted with a very warm welcome and we were told the options for breakfast (vegan sausages, bacon, etc which is amazing! We were then given the keys to our room which was through a gate to the back of the property meaning it was lovely and quiet away from the pub which is great if it is busy on a weekend night. The room itself was cute and country style. We were only provided with one towel but we asked for another and it was immediately brought to the room. The staff were so attentive throughout our whole stay! My only negative comment would be that the room could have done with an extra dust before we got there (e.g on the lampshade but honestly we didn’t care due to how looked after we felt! The shower was great too with great temperature and water pressure. It would be great if they could add a vegan option or two onto the main menu as a regular option for other guests to choose from such as a sweet potato curry or falafel wrap! We would definitely recommend this B and B to others but definitely ring ahead if you need any special diets catering for! Thank you to the wonderful team for looking after us :"

"It's a converted church and looks amazing inside. The food is good. We had a Classic Burger which looked hand made. They have built a nice external seating area for COVID times which I hope they will keep. Worth a visit."

"Charming location and friendly staff. I was excited to enjoy a Sunday roast, but I ended up feeling quite let down. I opted for the vegan option and was disappointed to discover that my meal didn't include sprouts, parsnips, or vegetable mash. While I didn't expect pigs in blankets or Yorkshire pudding, I was frustrated to find that I was charged the same price for a meal that was significantly smaller than those of my dining companions. Some members of our party mentioned that the sprouts were quite tough, and we noticed they were being left uneaten on several plates. Additionally, the food didn't remain hot for long, which could be improved by serving it on heated plates. Overall, it was a disappointing experience."

"Booked a table on line, which was easy enough. Arrived at the Windmill, the lady logged in to find our booking, which took a little while as the app kept logging her out, and it had ‘the longest ever password’ to log in her words not mine. Took our seats, and ordered our drinks via the app. After about 10 mins, the same lady asked if we were ok, we said we were waiting for drinks, she went back to the bar and retrieved our order and brought our drinks to us. Next round of drinks which again were order via the app arrived promptly. Next we ordered our mains. Medium rare 10oz stake, and a lasagna. Food arrived. Lasagna was very good. Not overpowered with tomato or garlic, very tasty. Hubby’s medium rare stake was overcooked making it a bit dry and lacking taste, but he didn’t want to wait for another to be cooked. Not once did anyone check with us how the meal was. During the meal we ordered another round of drinks, and waited patiently. The lack of drinks made a dry steak even less palatable. We finished the meals (well left half the steak) yet still no drinks. After 25 minutes I went to the bar to cancel the drinks and ask for a refund. After tapping many buttons, hey presto the order was located. There was much confusion over how to do a refund, and at one stage it was suggested that we may have to have cash and the staff member sort it later, but eventually it got sorted as a refund to the card. STILL NO ENQUIRY AS TO HOW THE MEALS WERE!!!!!! As much as I enjoyed the lasagna, I don’t think we will visit again. One member of staff was spending more time having a chat with the locals than checking on things. There were a lot of food orders being collected for delivery, I felt that these were being prioritised above the seated diners. I wish I could say the pub was busy, but it really wasn’t so there was no excuse."

"The service at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The waiter was rude and did not greet us with a smile throughout the rushed meal. We were not informed that our table was only available for a limited time when we made the reservation. We were pressured to place our order multiple times within just five minutes of being seated. The chicken dish I ordered with lemon and herb flavor was covered in a strange gelatinous sauce that was clearly not cooked properly. The gravy had no flavor at all. The waiter rushed us through our meal and seemed annoyed when we asked for dessert and a cup of tea. He informed us, for the first time, that the table was needed in fifteen minutes. After paying over £40, we were not even thanked or offered a smile as we left. We have dined here a few times before, but will not be returning due to the rude and rushed service, low quality food, and high prices. There are much better dining options available that we will be trying instead."

"For the third time this year for us the Pub was closed, despite checking their wed site before we arrived to make sure it was open. On arrival the garden looked empty and sure enough after choosing a seat in the garden and venturing into the pub to order I was greeted with “you all right “ from what what turned out to be stall, management, owners. I said I was ok thanks and was headed off at the door by a member of staff saying we are closed and pointing at a closed sight on the door. No that’s fair enough but why not change your opening times on your wed site if your going to closed or even put a sign at the entrance to the car park so we don’t have to go through the process of parking getting a seat etc etc. It’s such a shame as it’s a lovely place but opening is so unpredictable. Any way we drove to the Queen and Castle in Kenilworth to spend our money instead. I would say check opening times before you leave for the Red Lion and fingers crossed it’s open when you arrive."

"In my humble opinion, The Turkey Inn offers a culinary experience of the highest order. A pub I like to often frequent but have never chosen to post a review, however I recently attended the British beef week decided I should. To start I had the ox tongue tacos (see image attached) for £6.95 an absolute steal in my eyes. My main dish I decided to plump for the ossu bucco, a truly succulent treat which urged the tastebuds to dance around the palate. Smoked for 16 hours and slow braised for a further 5, this dish was delectably oozing with flavour and worthy of king charles' dinner plate. The food, at this well run establishment is a credit to the chefs, George, Matt Oli to name but a few and for me makes the turkey inn one of the true corner stones of the keighley drinking circuit."

"Visited this pub and stayed about 2 years ago, lovely rooms, great pub, cosy inviting, great atmosphere and food. Visited pub this Easter weekend, well I was shocked! I assume changed hands as now run down and empty considering 8.30pm on Saturday evening. Not sure what it's meant to be but certainly didn't feel like a pub, more like a cross between a village hall and an Indian restaurant when you look at furniture. Place full of tables set for diners with mismatch metal chairs garden furniture and high back chairs from a restaurant, no comfortable sitting at all. Felt awkward sitting there for the 1 drink we had and they were already clearing bar to close for the night. Cold and clinical lighting and I won't mention the toilets! Disappointed visit and sad that the pub has lost its charm. Won't be visiting again plenty of other lovely pubs just a few 100 yards away."

"We ate here twice during our break away. I have been coming here for 27 years and have seen the Anchor go through good, bad and everything in between. We would happily eat here again. The first night we were seated by the bar and 2 had burgers and I had the steak loaded fries. The portions are huge!! The onion rings are worthy of a special mention!! All enjoyed our meal. Tonight we ordered the Scallops which honestly were cooked perfectly, just melted in your mouth with black pudding and chorizo, my son had the squid. For mains we had 1 x ribeye steak, asked for rare and beautifully cooked, 1x chicken curry and 1x chicken breast from the grill. Curry was homemade, with poppadoms and mango chutney and rice and chips. Curry portion HUGE!! But tasty. Chicken breast was over cooked and dry but everything else on the dish was lovely, especially the Diane sauce. Nice to see this place busy, lovely staff, especially the Australian guy Connor? Very friendly service. We will be back!! (We booked both nights which I’m glad we did because it does get busy)"

"I visited this restaurant yesterday with my family and was very impressed by him. it had a pub section next to the restaurant section. the restaurant area had crooked coasters and essmatten, which had a really nice note. the wood interior. for the appetizers almost all had the freche garlic bread. this was absolutely amazing and came with a side of cheese dipping sauce that was incredible (a must have for cheese lovers.) for my main I had served the festive burger (turkeyburger, filling burger, mozzarella and cranberry sauce with 2 pigs in crumbs and halloumi fries,) the very full and of good quality. everyone had clear tellers, except those who could not finish their meal due to the amount. for dessert we had two blondes (white chocolate breweries) who came with a selection of cream, ice or custard (a lot to my joy). we both enjoyed and recommend them. Moreover, the staff were all beautiful and pleasant and made the place very secret. I would recommend coming here."
