"platz was really busy when we arrived with people who were not booked away, so it is very popular. the staff was friendly and helpful. the table was a bit small and sometimes felt somewhat cramped, especially with overlapping table sets. it was also next to the disabled toilet. (hence the -1 star) eating was really nice and cooked, just as we asked. they also had an extensive wine list with very beautiful weeping. I'd go back if I knew I was sitting somewhere else."

"Sandemans fine dining tasting menu paired with some delicious wines was the perfect evening for us. The food was delicious and the wine worked well. The only disappointing thing was that there were almost no interesting options for our guest who does not drink alcohol. The only offering was a 0% lager or the usual other soft drinks. We wanted to order a fabulous mocktail or interesting non alcoholic pairing option from the menu. This was not possible here but our delightful waiter did accept the feedback and thought it would be a great idea to have something interesting for the non alcohol drinker or indeed the appointed driver. The restaurants decoration was lovely and the atmosphere special. The toilets could definately be upgraded they don't reflect the style or standard of the restaurant. Toilet seat hanging off in one of the two cubicles too. However, it was a very special evening which we all enjoyed and look forward to returning and experiencing the upgrades which will ensure things only get better from an already great position."

"at the time in the pub sitting after the most delicious meal (lasagne followed by chocolate fudge cake compliments at the chef! also very cheap prices and generous portions. I have severe mental health and physical diseases and the personal was very nice and very accommodating. even me on the table near the disabled toilet. can't blame them, they should be proud of their excellent service and care. also the love that it is dog friendly, as I love dogs, to see all the different come, has made my day. will definitely be visited again and also bring my friends! next to the pub here. Thanks again."

"visited for Sunday dinner today with our dog. very happy with the communication that was received after online booking, personally and fulfilling our needs. the greeting at the arrival (a few minutes before the official opening) was warm and welcoming. the service was still great during the meal and eating was really good, fast and hot. "We went along to take advantage of their reopening special offer of a free meal with a newspaper voucher. Right from the off, the staff were helpful and explained the deal and procedure. Three of us ordered steaks, a rare, medium rare, and medium. All three were cooked to perfection. The steaks were large and melt in the mouth. It's probably the best steak I have had for a very long time. Our fourth member had the bog standard pub grub....Balmoral chicken, which she ate and enjoyed too. Again, they did not insult with the portion size. Service was pretty quick and efficient, too. Wine ranged from just under £14 for the house to under 20 quid for a bottle.. Both were decent. As a bonus, by downloading and registering on their app, we got a free drink, and we even got a couple of desserts and a really good strong coffee, courtesy of guy who had a couple of vouchers he passed on to us. They didn't disappoint either OK, this won't happen every time, but as a promotion, it worked because they have gained 4 new customers. If they can keep up that standard of food and service, it will be our go-to for a pub grub night out. Interesting all the staff seemed to be men and no student staff. The weekend might be different, but honestly, they were so professional. A pleasant surprise nowadays."

"We were really looking forward to eating here as my friend had booked a table inside the restaurant for us on Saturday 28th August. She politely asked the waitress if we could be seated outside seeing as it was a sunny day, and was promptly told there were no spaces even though we could clearly see there was. Literally within a few minutes of being seated at our table a couple walked in and asked another waitress if there were any tables outside and that they hadn't made a reservation. The waitress picked up some menus and took the couple outside and sat them at one of the empty tables! We asked our waitress why we weren't given the option to move as we had politely requested previously... she abruptly told us there had been a cancellation, which was strange as whilst we were seated at our table the phone didn't ring once. Maybe it was an online cancellation and she was probably having an off day but her attitude stank. I'm fully aware of the pressures on the hospitality industry the moment with staff shortages etc but the restaurant wasnt full. We had to ask a waiter if we could place an order for our food and drinks. The food was good but Ziques won't be my first choice when booking again!"

"Great. we had great service from a smiling brasserie and waitress eating was delicious and the children ate every bit, which is not always the case, they loved the ginger breadhounds and they disappeared very quickly. we had big latte that came in a beautiful large double ear cup and it was hot. we will definitely come back."

"We went to Harry's for the first time in many years on November it was fabulous nothing was too much trouble the food was devine, I had lobster and cheese shuffle my husband had a Tbone steak ..This time we were so excited to have booked on March our wedding anniversary, I had the same as last time except I also tried the rock chips... The food was nice the lobster was a little over done but I still enjoyed it, the shuffle wasn't a patch on the one in November it was tasteless and didn't look like a shuffle the presentation wasn't great, this time my husband's steak although tasty was very tough... We didn't complain as the food was still good just not fabulous as it was before. Still would give this restaurant another go."

"We went in last saturday for a meal and a couple of pints, it 's quite a regular thing. It was quite busy and we were lucky to get a table after waiting about 5 minutes. My partner went to order and was gone some time , 20 minutes or thereabouts. I figured she must be chatting to one of the staff as we always have a good laugh with them. Then my partner came to me slightly distressed , she was having trouble getting served even after 20 minutes stood at the bar. She was stood at the corner and the bar staff were seemingly only serving those at the front of the bar, even though my partner had been stood waiting to be served some 15 minutes before a lot of them. She shouted out to the barstaff ' are you serving '? The responded with 'you don 't get served any quicker by shouting ' and repeated this mantra style , trying to wind my partner up, which they did and regretably my partner told one of them to where to go. She realised this was wrong but she is registered disabled and in constant pain and can 't stand for long periods. She didnt want any favours for being disabled, she is too proud to ask for them. All she wanted was to be served when it came to her turn, which was clearly not happening. When I confronted the barman he said 'we don 't really serve here ' I said 'I know, I can see ' He then produced a ' Glass collection only ' placard, 20+ minutes too late. he said it was a non serving area even though there was a visa card machine there on the bar and we 've always been served there before without any problem . On our way out I just happened to look behind me to see 'Sydney ' a female member of the barstaff give the finger and saw her mouth ' off ' Now does anybody think a person like that should be working in the leisure industry ? All 3 of the barstaff were incompetent in my eyes and need a talking to or re-training. We went for a pleasurable night out, not aggro, we 're in our 60 's not yobs. We spent about £20, not a lot I know, we would have stayed longer and spent double that, still not a lot but every little counts. And as for bringing my grandkids here for a treat total spend £40+ I don 't think that 'll happen again. I see the pub wants to increase it 's taking by £2000 every week . . It ain 't gunna happen with abusive barstaff that you had on that night. Thank you. Brian. Ps I emailed and texted the manager to see if we could solve this issue amicably. NO REPLY which says a lot. Pps I hear Darleys do good meals."

"I visited this pub on Saturday night and found the bar staff to be very friendly and polite. However, there was one member of staff who was collecting glasses on the floor. She approached our table, leaned over me, clicked her fingers, and demanded my empty glass. I was taken aback by how rude this young lady was. I am a regular at this pub and have never had this type of experience before. It seemed like she was being shadowed by another lady, as they were together all night. If this staff member was supposed to be in training, it was very unprofessional for her to act this way in front of her supervisor and the group I was with."

"As always, the meal I ordered from Ramsgate Tandoori this evening was absolutely excellent. It was hot, of good quality, delicious, and there was plenty of it. Unfortunately, my josh spilled in my purse, causing quite a mess when the lid came off. A large portion of my meal was lost in the chaos. Despite that, I'm still happy. Excellent food from wonderful people."

"I had booked a table for lunch after being attracted to the Festive Set Menu at this pub, which I had checked online beforehand. However, once we were seated, we discovered that the Set Menu was not available. After inquiring at the bar, I was informed that it was not being offered in December. I ended up ordering nachos instead, which tasted like they were from jars and were very disappointing. My friend enjoyed his turkey pie, but mentioned that the parsnip was tough. Additionally, customer parking was difficult, leading me to park at the nearby Peace Memorial Hall car park. Overall, it was an average experience and I do not plan on returning."

"It’s 1.30pm and we have booked a table at the Tivoli we walk in through the front door to an empty room. Surely Sunday lunch should be busy. We look through to the dining area to see a couple of tables occupied but are worried why it’s so quiet. We order drinks at the bar and the server is charming. The place is spotless and the bar well stocked. Then we are shown to our table and order Sunday lunches priced at £17 per head with extra for cauli cheese and then all becomes clear when the meals arrive . They are mean so mean my meat consisted of 1.5 slices of pork 3 roast potatoes. 1 carrot 1 parsnip and a spear of broccoli. All tasty and served hot but just not enough. They bag the pork out with a Yorkshire pudding and 4 minutes after delivery it all over. We then retreat to the garden to find the staff eating bowl of potatoes etc etc and I decide something is very much amiss here"

"I had a fabulous lunch at Murdos with the girls! The food was amazing—delicious mac and cheese, tasty waffle fries, and the Katsu chicken was fantastic. The fish and chips were good too. We ended up chatting for over four hours! When we arrived, the place was bustling with groups enjoying lunch, and it was filling up again for dinner by the time we left. Overall, a great experience!"

"Terrible experience. Table booked for 9pm but when we arrived it wasn't ready. They led us to the bar to wait there but the bar was full. So they seated us in the DJ booth for over 15 minutes. There were menus on the tables but no one came to take our order. The music was blasting so we couldn't have a conversation. Eventually we got our table. We ordered and tried to get out of there as quickly as possible as we couldn't talk. Why management are trying to turn a restaurant into a club is beyond me. There were a lot of older folks around and I don't think that was their vibe either. Food was mediocre at best. Wouldn't order the burger again."

"Visited today with family for a Father’s Day meal. The food was delicious not to mention the 241 cocktails. The venue was decorated for Father’s Day with balloons, candles and flowers on the tables and each dad received a box of chocolates and a dad badge which made it extra special. Anna and the team are super friendly, hard working and go the extra mile so a BIG thank you from me! Can’t wait for the next visit!"
