"Went in today with family for lunch after having been in a few times before on trips to Newark. The menu has changed and there are fewer choices plus a big increase in price but this is similar in many places so didn't deter us at that point. When ordering on the app we found there was no lasagne or fish &chips so those people found an alternative. Again, we found a way around this but the real disappointment was the portion sizes of some of the meals. I ordered the soup. I was aware this is listed as a starter after being advertised as coming with bread and butter I thought this would do as a light lunch. Soup arrived with two tiny extremely hard pieces of bread, no butter and about an inch of soup in the bottom of the bowl. Couldn't believe how little soup there was. Even had to ask for a spoon for it. My daughter's chicken tikka was tiny too, just padded out with lots of chips and a really dry pitta. Really disappointed and don't want to risk coming back. Pic really doesn't do justice to how little soup there was!"

"Just came back from the George restaurant in Bilton rugby We had a disappointing time we had to wait a outstanding min for our meals to come to our table mother was not happy she felt drained for waiting along time we all...felt that customers was moaning about waiting waitress had to have to grin bear it has it wasn't down to them Bad organised plan in there manager running around like a headless chicken me friend could of made those dinners for a very short amount of customers tables weren't at they fully booked stage couldn't work out the problem on top of that we had to even ask for our pudding what a disaster never ever came across this confusing way that how the pub was being run all in waited couldn't wait to get out of that amateur management team there Stay away think twice before you complicate going there"

"The pub was busy and I did expect that as its the Christmas period and I really liked the interior the pub, made me feel very cosy. The staffs were lovely and did inform us that there will be 30 45 minutes delay as they were busy. My starters were great but the main course was of a poor quality. I ordered the fish and chips and it was not made very well. Both the fish and the chips were not drained well from the oil as they were quite greasy on my plate and bits of oil residue were left of the plate too I know they are fried in oil but I would have expected them to pat or drain the oil a little before plating it up). The chips didn't have that crisp outer shell that I was expecting and was quite soggy. The fish's batter was not crispy and very thick like a mushed up bread and very soggy too. The fish wasn't seasoned as well as I had to add salt and pepper to it continuously. I was very hungry but I couldn't finish it as the batter was too thick and I felt like I was eating the oil doughy batter rather than the fish itself. For £13 worth of fish and chips, I was expecting better."

"Went for a family meal party of 8 , the food was excellent and the service by Kerry was outstanding, she made sure we got the combination of food we wanted even if we changed it a bit from what was on the menu and made sure we had drinks when needed, Kerry works hard. Would recommend anyone going there for food and drinks. We will definitely be going back Thank you Oakwood Pub"

"Visited the sefton today after not being in for a couple of years. Was surprised to see only 1 member of staff working in the entire pub??? The lady whose name I noticed on the till was Kate . I must say even though it was busy for 1 person to be running the whole pub on their own she was very professional . We ordered food and was told of the wait time for it to arrive . We ordered drinks one being a pot of tea and even though Kate was busy we where surprised when she said I will bring to your table ASAP. Food arrived which we throughly enjoyed. I had a lasagne which was very tasty . We received a checkback from Kate even though she was working on her own under pressure . We felt our custom was welcomed by her . Our plates where cleared swiftly when we had all finished . We stayed for an extra hour due to the level of service Kate provided not only to us but all the customers in the sefton at the time. We saw her interacting with I presume regulars . It was only when we left my son said you do know that lady ie Kate worked at wetherspoons ? Got to say Wetherspoons loss is the seftons gain . I just wish the poor girl had another member of staff working with her and she wasn't running around serving, greeting everyone on her own."

"The Cambridge Chop House is a fantastic option for those looking for gluten-free dining. This restaurant is part of the Cams Cuisine group, which operates eight pubs and restaurants in the Cambridge area. Their menus are clearly labeled with gluten-free options, and the staff are attentive to allergen concerns. The gluten-free menu offers a variety of dishes including fish, chicken, and steak, with a few vegetarian/vegan options available as well. They also have a selection of gluten-free desserts such as Eaton Mess, burnt cream, brownies, and a delicious sticky toffee pudding. I highly recommend reserving a table upstairs for a great view of King's Parade, and also checking out their other sister pubs!"

"The menu may not be extensive, but it offers a sufficient selection. I tried the chicken tikka masala, which was delicious, along with chicken, steak, nachos, jacket potatoes, and salad. All the meals were tasty, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful, assuring me that my meal was gluten-free, even though the gluten-free menu hadn’t been printed during my visit. They now have a dedicated gluten-free menu."

"Service was slow, however very polite, food seemed processed and turkey looked like sliced from the butcher so thin, meat was not a slice of steak was mushed excess pieces moulded together into a round mould and cold. also Cranachan was just mush like thick yoghurt with porridge oats through it? That was a major shock and in a soup bowl? Def need to check the recipe on this, one chipolata too. All food was just warm nothing special. Christmas menu yet no crackers? No one asked if we enjoyed our meal even when the dessert wasn’t eaten"

"Our children took us here to celebrate my wife's upcoming birthday. We ordered our food, and at the same time we told the member of staff that was taking our order that we had a voucher via email for free dessert for all within the group. When asking to pay the bill, we was asked to show the email with the free dessert, my wife who had the voucher via email was asked by the waitress if she could take her phone and show this to a Member of staff, not sure if she was a manager, but she was not the most happiest person in the pub, she even came over and asked my wife if she could forward the email to an address so they could look into this, as they were not aware of this, yes they onourd the offer, but made us feel very uncomfortable about it. I will say the food was great, but the atmosphere was not so good, all the staff was ignoring each other, like it was all there first day on the job. We will not be going there again, first time, last time."

"Had lunch yesterday with my mum. Being local to the area, the Old Brewery, fit our lunch desires perfectly! Choosing from a wide array of menu items, I chose the beef-ale pie and it was hot, presented beautifully, and generously portioned. The atmosphere is a traditional pub, very clean, and offers a wide variety of liquid refreshments. My mum had gammon and eggs also served hot, beautifully, and with hearty portions. We will be back, and if you are looking for a solid pub experience in the Marlow area, the Old Brewery is a great choice!"

"I had an easy time booking online for a busy Friday night during the Christmas Lights switch on. There were plenty of staff and the service was great. The bar was busy so we ordered on the app and our drinks and meals were delivered quickly. There were 10 of us in couples and we all enjoyed decent, hot and inexpensive meals. It is definitely worth a visit. My only complaint was that the music was too loud for a restaurant, but it may have been due to the lights switch on. Overall, well done!"

"Terrible experience. Table booked for 9pm but when we arrived it wasn't ready. They led us to the bar to wait there but the bar was full. So they seated us in the DJ booth for over 15 minutes. There were menus on the tables but no one came to take our order. The music was blasting so we couldn't have a conversation. Eventually we got our table. We ordered and tried to get out of there as quickly as possible as we couldn't talk. Why management are trying to turn a restaurant into a club is beyond me. There were a lot of older folks around and I don't think that was their vibe either. Food was mediocre at best. Wouldn't order the burger again."

"I went for a meal with my husband on Saturday evening. We were greeted as soon as we entered the pub and were served by the outstanding Zoe! She made sure we had a drink all evening, gave us some great recommendations for food and had excellent banter. She was welcoming polite and is a credit to the pub. 10/10 from Zoe! "We had another fantastic experience at this restaurant with our dog! The staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, taking the time to chat and ensure that all guests are enjoying their visit. Chef Andrew really went above and beyond by providing food after the kitchen had closed! Carly, who was working here, exhibited the hospitality skills that set this place apart from any other in Paisley. Lisa, as always, shows the strong leadership qualities that help this establishment and its team flourish, all while wearing a warm smile. Thank you all for your excellent service—keep up the great work!"

"Went in for food a few drinks on Saturday night for the work's night out but ended up staying later than planned as DJ was banging atmosphere amazing. Didn't have to wait long for a drink at the bar despite how busy it was. Food on offer was mostly your typical pub grub so something for everyone, prices were very reasonable for being in the city centre. Will definitely be making Slains a regular pitstop for further work dos, great night had by all! "

"I visited the Kings Arms on a Saturday night at 5:15 with a group of six. While most pubs were packed and the rugby match was playing in the background, we were fortunate that the Kings Arms had a table available for us. The drinks were reasonably priced, and the food was fantastic! We tried the Korean spicy grilled nachos and the southern fried chicken strips, and both dishes were delicious. I would definitely return, even during busy times; they made sure we had a great table for our group."

"the first time in england and wanted real English fish and chips. the pub was clean and tidy. pool table and various edges to entertain everyone. the young tattooed dame behind the bar was friendly and helpful with my asking to the menu. the chips. were in order, but needed salt and ketchup to add taste. I appreciate the fact that the fish were not made over the diligent, but not a real taste again. had to add lemon and other spicy to make it better. the Burger options looked interesting and may require a second visit."
