"I went for a meal with my husband on Saturday evening. We were greeted as soon as we entered the pub and were served by the outstanding Zoe! She made sure we had a drink all evening, gave us some great recommendations for food and had excellent banter. She was welcoming polite and is a credit to the pub. 10/10 from Zoe! "My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal at this restaurant in front of the picturesque views. We ordered a mixed board of five items, a surf and turf, and a dessert to share between us. It was absolutely delicious and worth every penny. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. I would recommend the lasagna and curly fries."

"Been going here for a few years, meals usually good. Not sure what happened, but on Wednesday we went for a meal around 7pm,pub was quiet, not many in. Ordered mixed grill and a gammon meal. Peas were dried out, steak inedible, too chewy, each bite needed ten minutes to chew each bite… so left the rest of it. The sausage seemed overcooked and was very hard, leftover from yesterday? Tiny pineapple ring, did not know they came that small. The gammon on the gammon meal was very thin too. The chips were the only thing that seemed well cooked. Nobody came during meal and asked if eberything was ok, and it took a long while for anybody to collect the plates, and when they did, they did not ask if we enjoyed it or not, maybe they could tell from our expressions? Both of us had the feeling we would not come back there for a meal again, at least for a long while."

"Had lunch today at the King's Head. On arrival, the bar service was good. Sat at a window seat... it was not good to see a dirty table chair with stains on the seat... Food ordered easily, but such a disappointment; fish chips...should be simple to cook, but so little fish and so much batter all dry... Also the King's Head was so noisy with children screaming.... There was an event nearby cordoned off, but this made not difference. Despite this being our local, we won't return in a hurry. Management with respect take this comment on board. A one off function may pay a lot, but locals calling in regularly is better in the long run…."

"My friend brought us to this café for coffee while we waited to have a meal elsewhere. The atmosphere is lovely; it feels more like a café, even though it wasn't very crowded. We sat at a rectangular table and managed to pull up a sixth chair. The waitress gave us plenty of time to decide on our orders, which was appreciated. We ordered three cappuccinos and three lattes. However, the coffee was served at irregular intervals, which made us a bit uncomfortable. One cappuccino arrived first, and the person who received it had to start drinking before it got cold, while the rest of us had to wait. It felt awkward since we weren't all that close, and no one wanted to take a sip of their coffee before everyone else's had arrived."

"The Merchant Bar in Glasgow is a solid shout if you're out with friends and looking for a casual place to catch the game. Plenty of screens mean you won’t miss a minute, whether it’s the big match or just background noise to your banter. The atmosphere is laid-back and the staff are friendly enough to make you feel welcome without hovering. Drinks-wise, you’re well covered — decent selection of beers, and the prices don’t make you wince too hard. It’s a good spot to settle in for a few rounds with the lads (or lasses). Now, onto the food. The sharing menu is alright — nothing revolutionary, but it’ll soak up the pints. However, I have beef with the steak. Tougher than a Monday morning and chewier than your mate’s bad opinions. The steak pie, sadly, brought back memories of a Pukka pie while at home watching the football — only this one cost more and inspired fewer cheers. All in all, great place for drinks and sports. Just maybe grab a bite somewhere else if you’ve got high hopes for the food. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"

"I've been visiting this place for a few weeks now, and I've really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the fantastic karaoke on Saturdays. The standout moment for me was when the manager, Zoe, came outside to help my friend who had a seizure, even though we hadn't even entered the venue that night. She provided first aid and was incredibly supportive during a difficult time. I can't thank her enough for her kindness and assistance."

"My son and partner are going to Australia for a long time . Without considering the quality of The Grapes purely because over the last 40 years , it’s been high standard I booked a farewell dinner I am so disappointed, the Sunday Roast was not a Sunday Roast , When you needed a drink , the bar people were non existent ! The new management took a while to realise I would like to put some money in the till ! The toilet had doors broken off , the place is so run down and tired . I’m gutted such an amazing Icon pub in Formby has been left to rot! The food cost £17 per head and was disgusting I’m so sorry to complain but it’s the worse quality, I have ever had in my life"

"A week ago three of us where In Walthamstow. Visited the Goose early evening which was a pleasant and comfortable pub, drink prices reasonable and friendly staff, BUT, terrible food. One of our party was unwell that evening and the steak pie I had was soggy and tasted like it had been microwaved? served with chips and a tiny spoonful of peas and frankly only just about edible. We had a similar experience a few weeks earlier in the Golden Lion in Bexleyheath with the same pub chain. Staff are clearly not being managed or properly trained? Would pop in for again for a drink but not the food."

"This unique kebab shop is located away from Chipstead Tal Street. I visited after work and decided to try the combination of lamb and chicken doner. It was delicious, especially because they freshly cut the meat right in front of me, unlike other kebab places that keep pre-cut meat in a hot container. The chips were a bit smaller than I expected and a little too salty for my taste. Overall, the food quality and service were fantastic, so I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5."

"I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. My party and I were excited to dine here for dinner. We arrived on time with a reservation, but the waitress seemed surprised. We ordered dessert and water but waited 30 minutes without any update. It took 35 minutes just to get our water. When we asked about our dessert, the waitress said it would be another 10 minutes. After waiting for so long despite having a reservation, we decided to cancel our order. The waitress did not offer to speed things up or apologize. We found dessert elsewhere that was faster and cheaper. Overall, this experience was a disappointing waste of time."

"Regrettably, the restaurant was extremely cold. I had to keep my coat on during the entire dinner. I later saw other reviews mentioning the same issue. It definitely detracted from what could have been a more pleasant meal. The food was tasty, but it cooled down quickly and the hot chocolate was merely lukewarm."

"The menu is varied and friendly to all kinds of tastes (I'm veggie, teetotal, companion meaty and drinker we were both catered to). The juicy drink I had was great! The service was lovely, the seating somewhat cramped, the chair small and I had to move to accommodate another guest. The food was good, but I confess that for me the balance of veg cellulose (greens) vs the carbs/beans was too stodge heavy. And the amount of chilly and raw garlic/onion left a taste that lasted into the following morning (and yes, I do brush for mins with eletric brush every night The noise level when we arrived and the place was full was very high. But a show must have started, so soon the place thinned out and the noise levels were fine. So many hard surfaces! I'd go again, but ask about the cooking of the garlic and onion."

Huge menu, food was hearty pub fare and you can see the new management is stepping it up with good quality ingredients and taste. Bill was £41 for beer, bottle wine, steak and fish n chips, amazing value for money. Great local pub."
