"We went here for my mums birthday and it was perfect. The food was delicious, and service was impeccable. They gave my mum a glass of prosecco on arrival and then sang happy birthday when they brought the desserts- it really made her day! Would highly recommend, this is the second time we have been to Kazan and really enjoyed both meals."

"I have not eaten in Luigi's for quite some time, so I was glad to put that right. The service was marvellous with my table being serviced well by a very attentive host. The food was served to ones liking in a timely fashion and tasted delicious. This family run business is both cosy and friendly with an extensive menu that caters to all palates. I will definitely not leave it so long until my next visit."

"Last Sunday, I treated my mother to a birthday brunch at Two Sisters restaurant. As soon as we arrived, we were warmly greeted and given information about our brunch options, including the buffet or special brunch dishes, as well as the option for turkey bacon instead of pork. I believe this restaurant is the perfect spot for a leisurely brunch, especially for a mother-daughter outing. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and excellent service. We initially used a Groupon for our visit, but we were so impressed that we would gladly return even without a discount. It was definitely worth it."

"I went for a Christmas lunch at this restaurant today and I have to say I was very disappointed. The turkey dish consisted of one small sausage wrapped in slightly burnt bacon, one roast potato, a small sliver of soggy parsnip, and some mashed potato. It was served swimming in gravy with a side of unseasoned cabbage, carrots, broccoli, chunks of swede, and sprouts. There was no Yorkshire pudding and the gravy was poured all over the plate, which I personally did not like. The Christmas pudding I had for dessert was served with a brandy white sauce that was also poured over it. The worst part of the experience was that my Aunt and I were seated in an area of the restaurant that seemed to be hosting a funeral meal, which felt inappropriate given the festive season. We had drinks, wine, tea, and coffee along with the meal, and the bill came to around £60. Overall, I felt it was very poor value for money and left feeling like we could have had a better meal at a supermarket cafe for half the price."

"My daughter and I enjoyed An excellent three course meal . Food was lovely, classic French. Desserts, which we don’t normally bother with were appealing on the menu and didn’t disappoint. We had grilled goats cheese, a confit de canard, roast lamb, creek brûlée and mini waffle. Yum."

"Most Lebanese and many Turkish restaurants tend to cook using soya bean oil which is helpful for my wife who is unable to tolerate rapeseed and palm oil. We called into the Cedar Tree on a midweek lunchtime when the restaurant was virtually empty and asked the proprietor what oil he cooked with. He was immediately rude and asked if we wanted lunch today or tomorrow. Then insisted that the restaurant used 'grapeseed ' which I find very surprising, and made it clear that diners with any food intolerance were not welcome. We made his life easy, though his business less profitable, by just walking out. What a horribly rude man. I had eaten here in the past with friends who did not have any dietary issues, but will never return to this restaurant. Does not even deserve a 1 star review, but this is the lowest score available."

"*Updated review* The last time I visited I didn’t have a great experience and as such left a poor and honest review. However I had heard good things from friends so I gave it a second try 10 months on. So fair is fair, it is only right I update my review. This time the food was nicely presented and very good. (Almost night and day from my last visit). The burger came with a nice side salad and fries. The fish and chips came with home made Chucky chips and generous portions. Based on my last visit I would recommend this place. Original review Bit of a disaster tonight. Came for a family meal and chose from the specials board. It was initially served with wraps until I pointed out it was advertised with rice. When the rice did come it was awful… and I mean inedible. It was more like mashed potato. My order was then kindly changed to a cheese burger and fries. The chips were not cooked through and raw and the bun was solid (as if it hadn’t quite been defrosted properly) I am surprised as I saw other burgers coming out of the kitchen with side salads and all nicely presented. Can only think that the kitchen was overstretched… on a positive the servers were very attentive and polite."

"We made a point of stopping here for lunch on our cycling trip from Oxford to the New Forest, as we'd stayed overnight at the pub a few years ago and really enjoyed it. We weren't disappointed a perfectly judged steak sandwich and a pint of IPA, then coffee. I was interested to see they have brewed their own beer here in the recent past, though not at present. Will make a point of coming back for an overnight stay soon so we can explore the menu and wine list more fully."

"Today was our first visit and we highly recommend for any couples friends who are going out for lunch!! Donna and John were both so warming and welcoming on arrival and they have a wide variety of panini’s, sandwiches, jacket potato’s and beautiful cakes sweet treats on their menu! We had the best pulled pork paninis and fruit scones!! We haven’t stopped telling everyone about it! We definitely will be returning and highly recommend a visit for anyone visiting Shanklin!"

"It is nearly impossible to find gluten-free crepes in London, so there was much excitement when discovering that Crepe Affaire offers options for those with dietary restrictions."

"We arrived to be told there was no one booked in with our name. Then we were asked if it might be under a wrong name? How would we know. They decided maybe we were under a wrong name so we could go to a table. After waiting an eternity our food finally arrived. Steak heavily coated in salt, steak pie dry and tough, tipsy chicken cold, side salad was just a few leaves looking as though it was a rabbits left overs. Diet Pepsi sent back twice as flat and strange taste to first one. We could have sent the meals back but then would have had to wait another eternity and we were so hungry it was easier to leave it. No one even asked us if we had enjoyed our meal. Dessert order taken after we had to ask, we had waited 35 minutes after being given the dessert menus. We stopped visiting The Grouse due to the last time being of a poor standard but was told it had improved. Shame we listened. Yes we could have sent the meals back, but then we would have waited another eternity. Yes we could have argued the food wasn’t worth it but we understand you need to make a living. You said your chef did his best, maybe he did, but that isn’t helpful, it doesn’t change the poor service and food. In a nut shell, we won’t be back. Two chances were enough. Other people may have had better experiences it’s just a shame that a pub we used to go to a lot has really gone down hill in our eyes."

"There is simply no better Greek restaurant in London. Am I biased? Yes, well they're my neighbors, but beyond that where else could a nice jewish boy from NYC emigrate to London and find a restaurant with ice cold tsikoudia (Crete). I drink a shot with a wedge of lemon before and after the meal For those who would offer Lemonia (Primrose Hill) in its place, I say love and palates may indeed be blind One of my closest friends in the world is Greek. His name is Manos and his parents unofficially adopted me after I downed a pint of tsikoudia and then sat down to devour all of their cooking. I learned to appreciate Greek food from the source. When I eat at Retsina it is like sitting down...read more"

"I have booked up online, but on the day only the new ones were shown below. Eating was decent quality, but colourless and would have done with better presentation. pudding was getting slow, not sure why it seems digesting biscuit dust accompanied dessert. coffee was very strong and bitter I couldn't finish it. when I gave feedback, I was not offered. the lunch was overpriced. on the positive side, this is excellent and the personal very pleasant. general manager especially took the time to welcome and engage in talks and search for feedback. I got the impression staff new and maybe not yet polished or absorbed the beech hill personal note by old."

"This restaurant offers an excellent dining experience across the board. Priced reasonably at £10–20 per person, the food is exceptional, earning a perfect score of 5. The service is equally impressive, providing attentive and friendly assistance that also deserves a rating of 5. Lastly, the atmosphere is delightful, creating an inviting and enjoyable setting, yet again rated a 5. Overall, a top-notch establishment that I highly recommend!"

"We have been going to Bird in the Barley for over 10 years and always have a good meal, however on this occasion it was terrible. My husband had fish and chips and had to return it because the chips were terrible. The fish was burnt also but when it came back out it wasn't much better. My chips were also bad. I have noticed recently how bad the chips are, they look like they haven't been peeled and cooked in old oil. We have decided to give this pub a wide berth for the time being. we complained when paying our bill and regret not asking for a reduction as non was forth coming."

"I have eaten at the Kitchen several times, sometimes just with my husband, but also in a large family group. It is a great venue, providing a varied menu and catering for all dietary requirements and all ages, as well as being really convenient for the lovely shopping centre and gardens. The staff are really friendly and attentive, and the service is great. The seating is comfortable and the background music is audible but not too loud, providing a comfortable environment for a relaxing meal and good conversation. In summer, we have eaten outside, in a very pretty and safe enclosed area, under a canopy to provide shade when required. We are looking forward to our next visit."

"Our 3rd visit was for Sunday lunch. What a treat! Mediterranean veg. soup mackerel pate, followed by perfect roast lamb roast chicken, accompanied by beautifully cooked veg potatoes, (roast mash boiled). The leeks and broad beans in cream was a tender delight. The smooth creme brulee rounded the meal off well. Only a few other restaurants in the area can cook as well but none are as reasonably priced. £14.95 for 2 courses, £17.95 for 3. There is a fish veggie option as well.Lunch is only served Fri- Sun and the restaurant has not been as busy as it should be, whenever we have visited. The staff are attentive and offer to adapt dishes to suit dietary needs. The dining room is separate to the bar and decorated in a contemporary style. We love it!"
"I am 58 years old and I have estimated that in that time I have had thousands of roast beef dinners, The Portland's roast beef is the best I have ever had, perfectly medium rare, perfect veg and a great selection of real ales. Now we have all been to a pub and had a nice meal then gone back a few months or a year later, the management or chef has changed and the quality has gone downhill, not here I have been going for the last 7 years and every time it's amazing, I think they have chained their chef to the cooker because it's the same one! I recommend this pub to all my friends and family and we keep returning. Thank you for another lovely meal and great service. Please could you move the whole pub to the mainland so we can go weekly : p.s. Please bring the same chef!"
