"Located inside the Intercontinental Hotel on George Street, this restaurant serves as a breakfast lounge, bar, and dining room. The name of the restaurant is a nod to its history as a printing press. The decor has a slightly dated feel, with dark and dim lighting and retro light fixtures. The drinks menu features cocktails named after famous people and their preferred drinks. However, the food menu is average and uninspired, feeling like it belongs to another era. The dishes themselves fell short of expectations, with the cod appearing undercooked and the accompanying side dish being cold. The charcuterie board also failed to impress. With so many other excellent dining options in Edinburgh, I will not be returning to this restaurant."

"Food was excellent. Not cheap, though I guess this is central London. Surprised that there was no one else in the restaurant all the time we were there, from 6pm onward on a Saturday night. Service was good, not above and beyond. All in all, good choice for a birthday celebration and I would probably go back."

"I’ve been in a Japanese sort of mood recently and have visited a few places around town, but sometimes your old reliable sushi haunt is still the best. For me, that’s a small neighbourhood restaurant right next to Bermondsey underground station, an odd place for a sushi joint but nonetheless a good one. Enter Poppy Hana The interior is red and black and atmospheric and makes even going to a neighbourhood joint feel special. The seared salmon tataki is fabulous – if all salad leaves were dressed with this dressing, we’d all be a lot healthier. The soft shell crab rolls are my favourite – and I’ve ordered both the Temaki hand roll and the normal sushi rolls. The crab is...read more"

"has brought his Michelin-starred expertise to London. The atmosphere at the restaurant is elegant and sophisticated, with traditional Japanese decor and a stunning open kitchen. The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, and tempura. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, and each dish is beautifully presented. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff eager to make your dining experience memorable. Overall, dining at this restaurant is a true culinary delight and a must-visit for any fans of Japanese cuisine."

"Great restaurant! First time there and will definitely be going again, my sister has recently moved to the area and this is her closest sushi restaurant, it's 30 minutes away, but SO worth the hour round trip! The staff are so lovely, they even fried my california rolls for me and they were so delicious, best sushi I've had in a long time (and I lived in Asia! the decor is so beautiful too, just all round amazing : a little pricey but it's to be expected with good sushi, and worth it!"

"We arrived with more than 2 hours to spare before our show and were told they needed the table back in an hour which was not a problem. We ordered and there was an hour between courses, despite us having to remind them we still hadn't got our food. Then when it came it was wrong but since all the serving staff disappeared, we had no option but to eat since we were going to be late for our show by this time. Staff were too busy talking among themselves and ignoring our attempts to catch their attention. It was not a cheap meal and I was more than disappointed with everything about the restaurant."

"We had a Japanese friend staying with us who had not had a Japanese meal in England before. We decided to try this Japanese restaurant as a takeaway and ordered several dishes. Our friend rated the meal overall as a 6 out of 10. I...would agree with her. The dishes were cooked to the Western palate and had a little too much sugar added making the fried udon, teriyaki chicken and fried aubergine all too sweet for the Asian palate. However, we will still visit the restaurant in future. We will make a point to request the chef to reduce the amount of sugar and salt."

"Let's begin with where to start. I highly recommend avoiding the fish taco starter. It was not actually a taco, but rather a mint leaf. It was truly awful and far from being a taco or anything Japanese. Overall, it was quite repulsive."

"We were a party of six who booked in for a late Sunday lunch. I cannot fault the service at all. All the people who served us were very friendly and one lady had some fun cheeky banter. The people who had the roast pork enjoyed it but those of us on the roast beef found the meat...processed/pre carved and heated up by the kitchen maybe, certainly not carved fresh from a lovely big joint there and then. Equally there was something awry with the potatoes they were tasty but they weren't cooked in the traditional way. They weren't crispy possibly deep fried. My daughter enjoyed her nut roast. My gipsy tart was as I remembered it from school days."

"As a starter we shared the aromatic duck pancakes £19 for two people). This used to be copious and delicious. This time it was neither. The duck was soggy and flavourless and about two thirds of the serving they used to provide. The most interesting thing about it was an ornament in the form of a bird carved out of a piece of carrot and perched on a broccoli stalk. For me the highlight of the meal was a small glass of Thai red wine that was surprisingly good. The rest of the meal was served in small portions which tasted ok but were not very interesting and we ended the evening feeling a bit hungry. The waitresses were efficient, not warm or friendly but not rude either."

"Japanese is not your only option should you visit Hana; they also offer a good selection of Korean food as well. I had beef Bi Bim Bap for dinner last night and it was delicious. This selection of meat, vegetables, rice and a raw egg is bought to the table in a piping hot stone pot. The rice is at the bottom separated from the stone by a small layer of sesame oil so, after allowing the dish to sizzle a little to crispen the rice, you add the accompanying hot sauce and mix so that the egg cooks through. I loved it."

"Food was superbly cooked and presented. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. Given appropriate time to browse the menu and ask questions, with no barriers. The food arrived in good time with nice pace between each course. Throughout all the staff that interacted with us were very polite and courteous. We felt welcome the whole time. Would visit again."

"we have visited the Thai place several times before and always had a wonderful service and great eating and drinking. Previously there was an amazing cocktail menu and the personal was always so friendly and welcoming. at this opportunity we were very disappointed to find that the beverage menu was very reduced only 4 cocktails and 2 of them were not available) . the atmosphere in the restaurant was not the same as we visited before and the 2 employees seemed uninterested. the food was as always, amazing! full of taste and beautifully presented so that we enjoy our meal, but the evening overall was not the one we were <br looking forward . I would still recommend Thai place, since I hope our visit this time was a way out and that when we dine there again, the dinge again, as they always used to <br be ."

"There are many good Japanese restaurants in London (Chisou, Sakagura, Roka, Murakami, Sosharu, etc) I don't consider Kiri one of them. Kiri's menu items are priced similar to other restaurants but the standard is much lower. The quality of sushi at Kiri was poorer (sinewy and chewy), service was poor even though the restaurant wasn't busy on our visit. Our fairly light, quick meal for two (with a cocktail each and a glass of sochu each) came to £140.00. This seemed very over priced for the food and poor dining experience we had. I wouldn't recommend Kiri and I won't be returning."

"Had a very nice early dinner before you go to the Royal Albert Hall. Food was nice, service was friendly and efficient. My only criticism is the table size that the table for two was very cramped for two of us when there is a bottle of water and a bottle of wine in a cooler and food on several plates. It could be an idea to get one of those wine coolers buckets that somehow hang from the table, as this would be more room on the table to be able to eat without fear, something off."

"I have a lot of the taro restaurant, its terrace is beautiful, similar in barcelona have nothing to envy. but despite being one of the most glamorous restaurants I think in barcelona there are many like the one I said before they offer for very cheap prices high quality menus, if you look at the traditional menu of perpicar has tremendous tapas and Japanese combinations!"

"We went to this restaurant after they underwent a major renovation, and the atmosphere is perfect for a nice night out in a quiet yet bustling restaurant. However, when compared to many other Japanese restaurants I have visited in central London, the prices here are quite high. I typically pay less for similar dishes at authentic Japanese restaurants in more centrally located areas. The sushi quality is excellent, with thick and fresh cuts, beautiful presentation, and a good variety on the menu despite the small kitchen. However, I was disappointed in the portion size of my favorite dish, the grilled eel on rice, as the eel was much smaller than usual for the high price of £18. I believe that the decrease in eel prices over the years should have been reflected in the portion size. For this reason, I rated this restaurant 2 out of 5 stars for value. If you are searching for fantastic sushi in Kentish Town, this is the only option available, so I recommend it to local Japanese food enthusiasts."

"the place looks fanatic than eating. it is always nice to have a meal with natural light and a cozy ambiente. I went to Thai Square with some Portuguese colleagues for a quick lunch. in the restaurant they have a lunch menu for less than 10£ with a little everything available and it really worked for me. eating is not amazing, it is beautiful, served hot and flavored, but very simple. the personal has treated us with too much difference. I think it works for a quick and easy meal."
