"We had the pleasure of dining at Callenders Restaurant on a Wednesday evening, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was perfect. Each dish was fresh, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. And the chips were amazing! The best I've had in any restaurant. It's clear that quality ingredients and expert preparation are a priority here and I haven't come across another restaurant locally that matches the quality that is served here. We were particularly impressed with how accommodating the restaurant was for our 11-month-old son. They provided a high chair and even prepared a mini portion of fries and some ice cream specifically for him under good will. This thoughtful gesture made our evening even more special. From start to finish, everything was perfect. We left very happy and will absolutely be returning. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening; I will be recommending to everyone I know!"

"Genuinely shocked by some of the reviews on here, though note most of them are old so could be why. We've been ordering from Billy's for at least 6 months now and every time it's been delicious! Their chips are the best around for miles and their battered sausages are a treat too. Also their curry sauce is proper chippy curry sauce! #ifyouknowyouknow"

"absolutely brilliant eating, very inexpensive and friendly, welcoming, very efficient staff. I know. the portions are large, the falafel meal, on the menu as a hot starter, is to place the size of a main course at others. main dishes from the grill and...wraps are as one or two spits, so portion sizes for all appetite. it is not just a grill, but there is an amazing selection of food and drinks available here. Why do I tell you? If everyone finds out how good this place is, I'm complaining only if I can't get a place next. a really fantastic place very recommended. the only part is the position, within the concrete, pedestrian zone can not win, all I suspect. ignore the location, but the restaurant and the personal are excellent."

"I came to the breakfast yesterday and it was perhaps the best decision I made during my trip to Edinburgh. the owner (jonathan) was very nice and warm and welcomed me to the restaurant and gave me the drain on the Scottish breakfast. I had a little fear to try the haggis and black pudding, but everything was delicious! jonathan said they had the best heggis in the city and he didn't lie. the meal was warm and tasty and the perfect fuel for a long and cold day of remembrance, and more than that it gave me a taste of the Scottish hospitality! You have to come here at least once, but hopefully more, in your life!"

"really friendly service, though somewhat difficult to communicate sometimes, but they're getting our disorders wrong, what was the main thing! pictures is mount waffles really good worth, 2 waffeln worth, 3 choices of gelato, 2 soßen 2 toppings for £7.50 really nice, waffeln are super fresh. wait for them to eat is 10 15 minutes, although it was dead when we were there, the two times that we were dead. the reispudding was beautiful, but a little expensive. overall I love dessert places and that beats kaspa 's only the road on the environment (it is away quieter), food fresh, price / worth and service. they feel that they really care about them, and that's nice."

"I would give this restaurant no stars, if possible, or even negative stars. We placed our order using their app, which did not allow us to make any modifications. Our order arrived after an hour and 20 minutes, despite being told it would only be a one-hour wait. The pizza was flavorless, the burger meal deal did not come with the drink or chips, and the burger itself was described by my boyfriend as tasting like "seasoned cardboard" - horrendously bland. My mom's chicken kebab only had three pieces of chicken in the entire pita. My dad had to go pick up the missing chips himself because the delivery driver was unavailable."

"The staff was fantastic, food was great at a reasonable price, most rooms on the table loved the stands, I noticed a kind of fifa game for the kids and she seemed to love it! Nothing was too much trouble for everyone, would highly recommend visiting friends and family when they go to Liverpool, the whole venue was very clean and loved the fact that we free sanitary products for women in the toilets. "I typically don't write reviews, but as someone who used to frequent this restaurant and considered it a favorite place to order from, I am extremely disappointed. My friends and I were having a party and ordered takeout, but only half of our order arrived. We didn't realize this until we started unpacking. I called the restaurant to inquire about the missing items, but the person on the phone was rude and accused me of being a liar. After some back and forth, they assured me that the missing items would be sent out, but they never arrived. Despite multiple calls, the situation was never resolved. I reported the issue to Uber Eats, but they only offered a partial refund. This experience ruined our Saturday night and I will not be ordering from this restaurant again unless they address the issue with their staff."

"My wife and I had booked a Chinese meal on the 28th September and were looking for somewhere to have some drinks prior to the meal and my wife spotted the Mercat opposite the Chinese which was absolutely perfect for us. We ordered a Cider and a Peroni and the barmaid Stacey told us to find a table and she would bring the drinks over to us. Whilst enjoying our drinks we kept seeing lovely meals being taken to vsrious tables and they all looked exceptional, very well presented and you could clearly see that everyone was really enjoying them and the lovely background music being played. We both agreed that we would return on the followimg evening and try the food as it really looked too good to miss and we were certainly not disappointed. After a couple of drinks each we both decided to go for the fish and chips and we both agreed that it was the nicest fish and chips we had had for years, everything very fresh and so tasty. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Sauvignon blanc with the meal and my wife chose the cheese platter with olives, girkin and biscuits and I chose the icecream for our sweets, absolutely perfect. Unfortunately the lovely Stacey was not working on the evening but we did have the lovely Scott, they are a super team, so efficient, friendly, courteous and obliging. Since returning home we have never stopped talking about this wonderful evening, we both loved Edinburgh and this restaurant really was the icing on the cake. We are already talking about returning to the City and returning to this beautiful restaurant, what a find! . Well done to you all and thankyou!"

"We ordered 3 pizzas and some chicken wings with a delivery time of 25-40 minutes. However, the food arrived over an hour later, as the driver claimed to have gotten lost. The pizzas were not as hot or fresh as we had hoped, with cold and soggy cheese. The service was disappointing for a Monday evening when the restaurant was not as busy. Whether it was Herbies or Just Eat at fault, improvements are needed to avoid losing customers in the future."

"I visited this restaurant the other day for lunch and wasn't quite sure what to expect. Once we were seated, a friendly young waitress greeted us, handed us the menus, and inquired about our drink preferences. The Bay Tree is beautifully decorated and has a lot of character; it’s not a large place, but it has a cozy feel that made us comfortable. As I mentioned, we were uncertain about what to expect when we placed our orders. A little while later, we were served two beautifully presented meals that were absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the entire experience at the Bay Tree Restaurant, and we will definitely return the next time we find ourselves in the area. Great food and service with a smile!"
