"A village pub is the beating heart of a traditional English village and The Somerset Wagon is a truly sublime example of that. Dan and James have transformed the pub in the 18 months they have been there, ably assisted by Zita and the ladies. The right mix of a drinkers pub and good quality home cooked food proves the key ingredients that make the place magical. Add in the Bingo, Quiz, weekly draws and good conversation it really does tick all the boxes. It is often full to bursting on a late weekday weekend evening with people eating and drinking and enjoying the merriment. That says it all! An extensive menu with a very large number of Gluten Free dishes makes it a great place for all to enjoy. Crystal clear award winning real ales as well as great larger and wines is the icing on top. Was recommended to us by the lovely people at Midsummer Quilters, and I can see why. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was a great atmosphere, and the Sunday Roast was awesome. You had a choice of up to 6 meats! I actually had the nut roast, and it is one of the best I've ever had. Plenty of gravy, loads of tasty veg and fluffy yorkshires. Would recomed to all.
