"We stopped by for a meal before heading to the cinema and had made a reservation through an agency, but unfortunately, Chiquitos hadn't received the notification (a downside for Open Table). However, the hostess at Chiquitos was absolutely delightful and quickly arranged a table for us without any hassle. She made us feel very welcome, and the rest of the staff were also friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, and we experienced no delays, making it easy to enjoy our meal before the movie. I would definitely recommend it for a pre- or post-cinema outing. It had a lively atmosphere that seemed perfect for dining with friends. We'll definitely be back!"

"We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. Our reservation was not recorded, so our table wasn't ready when we arrived. The service was slow, and our food came out at different times, with most of it being cold. Throughout the meal, we had various waitstaff who seemed indifferent. The prices were high for food that was just average in quality, and to top it all off, a service charge was added to the bill without any prior notice. I would suggest avoiding this place; it simply isn’t worth your money, time, or effort."

"Upon arrival, we found ourselves waiting at the desk without acknowledgment of our open table booking, making the reservation pointless. The staff seemed disinterested in our confirmation and instead directed us to sit and wait in the bar before rushing outside. This strange first impression continued as the restaurant appeared half full yet we were left waiting at the bar. The barman neglected to take our drink orders, which would have improved our experience. After 10 minutes, one staff member informed us that a table was being cleared for us at the front, only for another staff member to seat us at a different table in the back. This made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers. Despite representing over £100 in revenue as a group of four, we felt like a low priority. However, once seated, the typical service experience at a Chiquito chain restaurant was good, with drinks, orders, and food served promptly. We had no complaints about the food and were pleased to be able to use a student discount, saving 25%. In the future, I believe more attention should be paid to first impressions, as my companion was initially tempted to leave but I convinced them to stay."

"Lovley waitress serving us.... felt sorry to complain! Asides from hour wait between courses others kids in restaurant). Both mains came out, pasta and risotto. Both over cooked- pasta tasted ok but the waitress could see that fungi chicken Risotto was just like mush and very kindly offered to replace it.... accepted, and it came back tasting ok but littered with chicken sinew/fat (as per picture above).... If not sinical I wonder how a chef working in such a nice place could make such a mistake? Mmmm "

"Not a bad place for a pre gig meal. Shame about the front of house staff. I'd booked a table but got stuck in train delays and gig crowds so arrived exactly 15 minutes late. However, the table was booked so we asked to be seated only to be told we were late and couldn't have our table for at least half an hour. They said they only allow a 15 minute grace period for late arrivals, at which point I reminded them I had arrived at exactly 15 minutes past the hour and it was only the fact that they'd spent so long telling me I was late that the time had clicked over to 16 minutes past the hour. After some to ing and fro ing (and me getting quite stressed and cross) they reluctantly led us to a perfectly nice, perfectly empty table. Other tables were cleared also, so it seems they were just being stroppy and defiant what strange customer service. Shame, because the serving staff were lovely, and the food ok. Just whatever you do, don't be late!"

"My husband and I are regular customers so of course we are fans. A warm welcome always greets us. We particularly enjoy breakfast, however a gluten free toast option would be a welcome introduction to the menu. Service is always attentive and top notch, food fresh and hot and tasty. "I had previously visited Chiquito and noticed one in Portsmouth. The staff were friendly and the service was quick, but I was quite disappointed with the food. I ordered the Steak Fajitas, and I can honestly say that the salsa had more flavor than the steak itself, which was very bland. The side dish was also unremarkable. Overall, it wasn’t a special dining experience for me."

"On this occasion, we didn't even have a chance to eat at Chiquito due to the numerous abandoned cars scattered throughout the parking lot. I can only assume they belonged to a garage and were left there as a joke. Additionally, Derby was in the playoffs, so many fans used this parking area for their vehicles. My girlfriend went into the restaurant to ask about parking options, and a waitress told her that we could just park in front of someone else’s car since there was nothing they could do about it. In the end, we decided to dine at Wagamama instead, and we had a much better experience there."

"Great service and food. Always happy to go back as food is always tasty. If you like fishy dishes Risotto Pescatore is highly recommended. Calamari with the dip for a starter is also very good!
