"Go here regularly and the last few times I've been the portions are TINY and really stale like they have been in the fridge for days. My sushi yesterday was so cold I had to wait for it to warm up slightly before eating it as it was FREEZING. Paid £4.50 for a yasai roll and got 3 very very thin bits of sushi. Got an spicy avocado roll wasn't spicy but was SOAKED in sweet chilli sauce. Inari pockets were slimy. My mum got ramen we were both confused as the broth seemed just like hot water with noodles and mushrooms in it so it tasted like nothing. Also why is there no pickled ginger offered anymore? Yes, we are still in a pandemic but customers didn't have to pay extra for it before so why are they being charged a premium for it now? This place has gone downhill big time and wouldn't be surprised if it closes within next few years. Staff were friendly enough but also seemed like they couldn't really be bothered. Fair enough though as all transactions are online now so they are probably making even less tips than they were before."

"We went to Zizzi as part of a large group celebrating a family birthday. We normally go to Prezzo or Wildwood, won 't be going back to Zizzi in a hurry.... Customer service was poor staff were slow and the waiter bringing drinks asked who had the strawberry drink or the softtails . He clearly had not learnt the drinks menu. Didn 't want to take payment at the end of the meal (more below). They didn 't remember who had ordered waht, it was choatic and felt stressful rather than welcoming. Food distinctly average. My husband had the tripple pepperoni would have hated to see a single pepperoni , very sparse! Two of the guests had the risotto, the rice was hard and there was loads of liquid in the bowl which hadn 't been absorbed. For the money it was poor value and should have been cooked properly. Payment my sister left before we had dessert to take my elderly mother home. She gave me cash to cover the cost of 4 of the party not an insignificant amount. When the time came to pay I was told cash was not accepted at Zizzi and apparently there was a sign on the froint door. This would be the front door that was wide open against the wall with people in front of it because there was a long queue waiting for our table to be ready! Then we were told that staff wouldn 't take payment, that we had to use an app if we we wanted to pay individually. I loaded up the food and drinks from the 4 people plus my husband and I, then the app crashed, this happened a couple of times and after that I insisted staff processed the payment. Some serious quality checks needed on the food before it 's served to customers, and some customer service training for the staff is required. There is so much choice of Faketalian available in Salisbury Zizzi really needs to up it 's game..."

"I don't normally eat in places that also serve meat, but I was told they had a separate vegan menu and decided to give them a go. I'm glad I did. I had a vegan cheese pizza with various toppings, a pint of beer, and a very tasty chocolate torte with ice cream for dessert. The place was pleasant and the food satisfying. I should note that it was the most expensive place I ate at in Manchester though the other five places (all veggie/vegan) were cheaper. I would eat at Zizzi again, definitely. It was their vegan menu that pulled me in. As an aside, I was with some Italian family. They spoke Italian with one member of staff, assuming he would understand, but he didn't speak Italian. I'm not sure if that was an exception or not, but as a chain it is obviously not quite as Italian as it likes to appear."

"I usually don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience tonight. The restaurant was not even half full, yet the mistreatment we faced was inexcusable. What should have been a pleasant family dinner turned into a complete disaster. We regretted coming here and we will never be back. If you enjoy being served by rude waitresses and having your meal ruined, then this is the place for you! Despite requesting all our food to come out together, it arrived sporadically, leaving the kids frustrated. We asked for sauces that never arrived, and when we complained, we were accused of lying. Our drink orders were mixed up, and despite asking multiple times, they never came. Our table was never cleared throughout our ordeal. Additionally, one of our party members got burnt when using the mother and baby changing unit due to scalding hot water coming out of the tap with no warning signs. The waiter dismissed our concerns until we showed her the injury. The waitresses we dealt with were incredibly rude and unprofessional, even pretending to be the manager. We were provided with a form to fill out for the injury, but were left waiting for over 20 minutes with no resolution in sight. Our plans to go to the cinema were ruined, and the kids were left disappointed. We were appalled by the lack of customer service and will not be returning. Overall, a horrific experience that could have been easily avoided with a simple apology."

"They have some great options at Zizzi especially when you need to cater for all at a family event for example. The beet walls was unique and was delicious, having it served with some bread would be nice to mop up the remaining tomato sauce. The pizza is standard and it is great to have Vegan cheese on them. The Chocolate Torte is amazing as always. The desert calzone was disappointing, the calzone was mostly just dough with a slice of banana and spoonful of jam in it, the Gelato was delicious though. The bad points was the atmosphere it was very loud, the staff were shouting and the bar staff were making an unnecessary amount of noice. Price is reasonable. Obviously as always there is animal products around which add to the poor atmosphere."

"now, where do I start, we arrived at zizzi for our Valentine's Day meal busy with all intentions but waiting 35 minutes in the cold flur was not a good start, we finally got it to the front of the waiting snake and was sitting. we then took our drink and meal order quickly, which was great, as we were very hungry at the time, we waited 30 minutes for our appetizers, which were very simple, kalamari and wild boar balls. in this time had another couple sitting on the table with us, they had their ancestors shortly after our. we had cleaned our tellers, and we had to wait for 40 minutes until our main thing arrived, which was ridiculous when it was a pizza and a calzone and at that time most people went, I was even more angry when the couple next to us got their main thing before we had started eating there after our, their food was very similar pizza and pasta. we finally got our food at 9:30 o'clock. that was horrific considering that our table was booked at 7:30 a.m., which was a scandal, because it was delicious when the food came. I was disappointed in the evening, since I really was looking forward to the meal, as I had been there before and really enjoyed it! we are getting married in October and wanted this to be a special Valentine's Day, as our last one before the big day."

"I have visited numerous vegan groups on facebook, I always hear how amazing zizzi is, and finally I have the opportunity to visit one on a trip to yorkshire. Despite its location to be the center of a retail park, this restaurant really feels like you're going to be out somewhere that interieur is spacious, modern, interesting, clean and the atmosphere was beautiful. the waiter was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to ensure that all our meals were perfectly met. my mother ordered the vegan green goddess salat, separated with the pesto; my partner ordered the vegan rustica pizza, with added spinat, and I went and veganized the thin ‘primavera’ pizza that replaces the non-vegan options for cruel free versions. our meals arrived immediately, and just as we ordered despite all tweaking the usual menu items! (they also came with vegan stickers, of course we had to wear our little tokens for the rest of the meal with proud, hahahahahahaha). all our meals were arched, they were absolutely sensational. (my omni dad said it was the best lasagne he ever had, but that wasn't vegan/veggie) also beautiful portion sizes, thanks to enough space for my partner and I to share the legendary vegan dessert roller zone! I tend to avoid sugar, but there was no possibility that I could go without taste! when we ordered the waiter, it was so sorry to announce that they had no more vegan option in their filiale, but he made sure that we can still enjoy our little vegan tasty by replacing the non-vegan items in the plate, thereby treating our own cutter! on a page note were my partner and mama not too impressed by the coffee but we are grateful that it was so. Maybe soon Zizzi’s will offer more vegan coffee options. the whole experience was absolutely fantastic, we felt really interested, and give the waiter a big tip, he seemed really taken back; the personal is simply really good people there in our experience. I would like to visit again. I would say it is a safe bet for meals with men's mixed nutritional requirements, and since it is a chain restaurant, they can know what to expect. [additional] I would like to leave 5* review, but in the rule happycow restaurants that are only veggie friendly can only get the highest 4* reviews."

"To get to the first Zizzi to open in Edinburgh in seven years, you have two choices. If you’re working up an appetite you can walk up from Cockburn Street or indeed if you want to keep fit. The easiest option is from the Royal Mile, look out for the entrance to Mary Kings’ Close, walk down the passage as if you were going into the attraction, turn left and you’re there. We went along to the launch evening, and were enchanted to be met by some of the residents of Mary Kings' Close dressed in their finery for the occasion. Now, I can't promise that sort of welcome each time you visit, but you'll instantly feel at home. You walk into an L-shaped space. Before you is a fabulous view down over Princes Street and beyond. I am instantly drawn to the left of the room where, in an open kitchen the team are preparing pizzas to bake in the roaring oven behind them. Starters are being prepared to the other side. It's a hive of activity. Later when I talk to Steve, the manager, I discover that he had the pick of staff from other Zizzi's and has brought the best to lead his team. He did have to find other staff to replace them mind you! Much as the pizzas looked delicious, I was keen to try one of the other dishes and was tempted by the Zizzi fish stew. A rather nice touch, the menu indicates dishes that contain 600 calories for those wanting to go for a lighter version and incredibly this dish is one of them. To start with with have a platter which showcases some of the dishes from the menu. The calamari (from the sharing menu) and the garlic bread with mozzarella and tomato and pesto bread from the “dishes to start”. The calamari are among the best I’ve ever tasted. Both the breads are delicious and the way I like them, crisp and not too much topping. Mr EF waxes lyrical about his insalata di pollo (chicken salad) which is again one of the 600 calorie dishes and includes chicken, pancetta, green beans, cannellini, onions, tomatoes and lentils in a aioli and lemon dressing. It’s moist and has just the right amount of dressing. My fish stew is chock full of fish and seafood in a deeply flavoured tomato sauce with sliced potato – each element cooked perfectly. Portions are generous! We get to share 3 desserts between us: lemon tart, tiramisu and chocolate tart. It was difficult to chose our favourites as all were a very fitting end to a lovely meal. Just to mention, the drinks list is extensive and reasonably priced and don’t miss the chance to try the limoncello! We continued to enjoy the atmosphere throughout our meal and the excellent service. Prices are reasonable – do go and give it a try especially if Italian restaurants are not your first choice. It’s really special."

"If it was possible to score no stars I would our food order was very disappointing the food did not arrive all together, of the 4 meals ordered the gluten free pizza arrived 5 mins later than the others. Of the food that arrived first the two calazone pizzas only had filling towards one half (almost as if folded incorrectly) and the other salmon dish was stone cold. The salmon dish was taken away and we waited over 30 mins for a hot replacement as you can guess despite being a ‘priority order’ the staff telling us over and over again “just 5 mins” 30 mins is totally unacceptable. Bedford has a plethora of fantastic Italian restaurants this chain will not get our custom again."

"We had booked a table for and arrived with about mins to spare the front of house attendant couldn’t find the booking initially then told us our table was booked for I advised this was incorrect and said I had the confirmation on my phone e to which the reply was ‘well it says and the booking sheet’ in a quite accusing tone of voice. We were led to a small seater table which was too close to the table behind when the were couples sat in booths for people and tables for available and were still vacant when we had finished. I found my confirmation and went to the front desk attendant who just shrugged. No apologies that we had been booked in incorrectly and their information was correct. From a first impression perspective this was a dreadful start. Our waitress was very nice but had obviously been briefed we weren’t happy and did go over the top to try and rectify the situation. The starter of mushrooms on bruschetta arrived and were advised the plates were hot and to go careful however my partner had one slice which was stone cold and another Luke warm ... when he mentioned it he was told that it wasn’t meant to be hot .. so why serve it on hot plates ?? Finished our meal and left .. not in any rush to visit again"

"We were then seated at a small table for two that was uncomfortably close to other guests, despite having empty four-person tables nearby. After finding my confirmation, I went to the front desk to address the mix-up, but the staff was not apologetic about the reservation error and insisted their information was accurate. This left a very negative first impression. Our waitress was quite lovely, but it was clear that we were unhappy. She made a noticeable effort to make things right. The mushroom appetizer came out as bruschetta, which was recommended to be hot, yet one of my partner's dishes arrived stone cold while another was lukewarm. When he pointed this out, we were told it was supposed to be served that way—so why was it served on hot plates? After finishing our meal, we left without any intention of returning."

"Edit one year on. Sat eve, 8pm. Nearly empty restaurant. Last year gave 4 stars....this year struggled to give 2. So what was different? Staff: mostly ok. .just ok. If you are not ready to order then expect a long wait as they forget to return...both for ordering drinks and food. Had to locate someone. Not offered parmesan. Had to ask for pepper as well and waitress said i will try to find some then hunted round the other tables until she located one. Then- there seemed to be a volunteer working there- baggy grey t shirt and old jeans hanging halfway down his bottom.......but omg! Was he actually the manager? Complaints/comments not responded to except see below in food review. Food- just average. The cheese dip starter was just a cheese sauce- no better than I put on my homemade lasagne. Pasta with meatballs- husband struggled to find 3 meatballs. Crab canneloni- tasteless, pappy...ate only one. Courgette fritti...no courgette.....i did mention this and was told it 's hard to find ....so i picked up several random pieces of fried batter and none had courgette in . No feedback from kitchen or manager. On paying when asked if all ok i mentioned it again and they said oh that 's a shame. That was it!! Two good things- beer glass was chilled and the organic wine (i dont usually do organic) was super. Won 't be returning in a hurry. Food is great here. Service friendly. Doesn 't matter what they do to this space it never quite works.....noisy and unwelcoming- hard to hear eachother speak. Certainly not a cosy, couples type place. Prezzo across the road has nice booths but terrible food and service."

"I made a reservation for 5 PM, and while the starter arrived fairly quickly, the main course didn't come out until 6:10. With the movie starting at 6:45, we didn't have enough time to enjoy a second course or even a coffee. We raised our concerns and ended up paying only for the starter, but it was clear that the staff were overwhelmed and unable to meet the needs of all their customers."
