Iron Bloom

"iron bloom is located in the heart of shoreditch, named after the former iron factory in the great eastern street, but some of the original features that give the restaurant an industrial and quirky look. Make sure you check the lift shaft that houses the DJ stand! from the drawers of the look glass cocktail club in shoreditch that I love, I knew that iron bloom would be great. you can say that many thoughts have gone into the British inspired menu, mostly from small sharing boards, but with a few bigger dresses too. iron bloom takes classic British cuisine, deconstructs the court and reconstructs it with quirky dressed. each of the small teller beats a paired cocktail – a beautiful note. we had the limanescapade: pisco shaken with homemade mango, ananas rosmarin, lime and protein paired with the lobster doughnut, gruyere cheese, chorizo, chipotle ketchup, schalotten. we also had the bitter aperitif: campari base, mix of lemon orange juice with homemade mango ananassirup shaken with a hauch of aromatic bitter; perfect with every nibble. small teller wise we had the oxtail croquettes: celeriac remoulade, crispy chorizo, raisin purée and the guinea fowl pudding: chestnut mushrooms, brie, yorkshire pudding, which were two of my favourite dishes! I love most things in a yorkshire pudding to be fair. we also had the grilled cauliflower cabbage: cheese frit, flower charcoal, golden rosins, roquette parmesan and truffle and parmesan frits – all just beautifully presented and really delicious. we had just space for the dark chocolate delice with baileys sawne, milk crushed, hazelnuts paired with flambé cocktail, which was a show in itself – definitiw add this up! we loved the concept and the design and look forward to the soon started brunch menu!"

"I had a shockingly bad experience at Mud today and have serious concerns about the customer service. I have visited several times previously with no issues. The food was good as usual however we were asked what our order was three times, a drink for another customer was spilled on our table and we had to ask for items such as cutlery. The coffee was also poor quality. What turns this into a terrible experience was the response of servers to another customer complaining at the counter about the quality of the coffee. The server escalated the argument and threatened violence towards the customer right in front of us and other tables, even though the customer was perfectly within his rights to complain. This created an unwelcome and frankly unsafe environment, so we felt we had no choice to finish our food, pay and leave as soon as possible. Upon our table requesting feedback for the manager, we were told that no manager was available on site, and the other server doubled down on his comments about the customer, stating he was being unreasonable. This attitude contributed to an unsafe experience, as myself and other customers did not feel valued, welcome or even safe. The servers continue to swear and comment angrily about the incident after the customer had left. I appreciate this was a fairly busy period of service but violent threats towards customers, whatever the reason, is never acceptable and needless to say I will never visit Mud again. I would expect to receive reassurance that training is in place to deal with this kind of incident in the future and will be following up by email."
