"on Friday 23rd april, I have booked a table for six, they sent an email on the day before confirming my booking, but on the day when we called them to change our booking fo 5 they did not answer. when we arrived in the restaurant, it was completely decorated and closed. this was for a member of our party birthday and was really looking forward to sushi and now we had to find a place to eat even in the current climate on Friday at 6th, the other household in our group had traveled from south london for this birthday, so this is absolutely disgusting that they could not cancel before or any message at all. would not recommend to a friend and absolutely not come back. this is also an incident with open table, they must be taken by this app or checked because this is completely through the birthday plans and we ended eating somewhere very bad."

"Visited on Wed 30 September around lunch time.Food was average, fine for the price. However upon coming to pay I put my card on the table and the waitress took my card away from the table before returning after a few minutes with my card and the card machine. At the time I did think this was a bit strange as there was no reason to take my card away but didn't think too much about it.Today my bank's fraud team has contacted me due to suspicious activity on my card. Someone has tried to use it at a hotel in London. This was the only time my card has been out of my sight. So a warning not to allow your card to be taken away from the table. It was a female Chinese member of staff who took the card away which is completely unnecessary as she brought the card machine to the table."

"We booked a table at The Bulls Head on Friday with parents who live in the village. So glad we did because the place was packed. We 've not seen in like this in a long time, so the new management is clearly doing something right it reminded us of years gone by, when the Bull was a proper village pub. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was really good, in big portions that nearly beat us, and the atmosphere was buzzing. Also, can we say a huge thank you to the 'mystery ' diners who decided to anonymously pay £50 of our bill. We have no idea who you are but what a lovely thing to do we will pay it forward!"

"The service in this restaurant has gone down rapidly in the last 6 months. the staff cant be bothered at all. our main course came before our starters again, in the second visit in a month for us. our mistake for returning. the food was...cold and even the standard of the food is now lower than before. we had no clue who our server was and they were picking our drinks up without us having finished them and without even bothering to ask if we wanted another one. The staff look so disinterested and not bothered at all. The chap who i paid LITERALLY through the receipt on the table. they are charging high end prices but novikov, nobu and zuma are many many levels above them. Dont go here. Its finished as an option for me, i gave them another chance after the **** service last time but it has not changed."

"If Google did , this establishment would be a worthy contender. Found the place through trip advisor. Coming to Portsmouth with family to see a show and having a few hours to kill from .lunchtime. No wonder it has so many excellent reviews. From the fine dining professionals that are front of house, to the quality of the food served this place oozes quality. Prices aren't too steep and the overall dining experience is convivial. The steak pie (while not a massive portion) us more than enough for most and is delicious, served with chips and peas. I had the Onglet steak. As described, not quite as tender as some steaks I've eaten, but such deep delicious flavour. Served with vine tomatoes and chips For starters we had prawn cocktails. For dessert we had a chocolate mouse, lemon tart and a plate called a creme catalana. An amazing restaurant and well worth visiting if you're in Portsmouth. Thanks guys."

"If you find yourself in London, you absolutely must try this restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time! The Korean fried chicken wings are a must-have starter - they are simply delicious. We also tried the chicken yakitori, which was perfectly seasoned. For the main course, we ordered the crispy duck leg, the grain-fed Sirloin steak, and the Spatchcock chicken. All three dishes were fantastic and came with a variety of interesting pickled sides. We couldn't resist getting some extra buns, which were incredibly fresh. Make sure to save room for the chocolate fondant dessert - it's worth it! The portion sizes are not overly generous, but the quality of the food makes up for it. The atmosphere is pleasant, as the restaurant is located underground. The service was a bit lacking at times, as it could be difficult to get the waiter's attention. However, when they did come to our table, they were professional and friendly."

"First time I have order from them, saw them on Uber Eats and said, why not? Price are very reasonable and the quality is really high! I 've worked in a Japanese restaurant so I can confidently say the fish is fresh. I had the beef Teriyaki which was delicious and the Fish roll box. The only thing I would have improved is that in the description of the box it says Tuna roll when actually it was Spicy Tuna roll. Unfortunately I cannot have spicy food due to a medical procedure, but my housemate had the rolls and confirmed they were delicious hence I kept it 5 stars."

"This fantastic, modern and stylish restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing evening with family and friends, while indulging in some delicious food. It was our first time visiting with our Godsons and family. My wife and I visit Shrewsbury once or twice a year and are always on the lookout for new restaurants serving great food and a good selection of wine and beers. The Horseshoe has it all. We were greeted at our table by Becci, the manager, who made us feel like regulars. We felt immediately comfortable. Jess took our drink orders and was very friendly and engaging. Our drinks arrived quickly, served with a smile by Emelia. Throughout the meal, Lisa and Rich checked in to make sure everything was going well. The evening was fantastic with a great atmosphere and a wonderful selection of food and drinks, all served by a friendly and cheerful team led by Becci. We will definitely be returning on our next visit. It's definitely worth the trip. There is plenty of parking on site as well. Thank you to everyone at the Horseshoe pub and bar for a fantastic night."

"I recently dined here for the first time and was absolutely impressed by both the service and the quality of the food. Since we hadn't been to a Japanese restaurant before, we opted for the basic three-course meal, which included a meat dish as the main course. We ended up eating quite a bit, and the prices were very reasonable. The service was prompt, and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of being served miso soup while we reviewed the menu, along with hot towels. The restaurant had a bustling yet beautiful atmosphere, and everything was clean and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this place. They also have a Teppanyaki table for larger groups, where chefs cook the food right in front of you."

"We booked the teppanyaki for my son’s birthday as it’s something he’s always wanted to try. The chef was great fun and the food was all fresh and tasty. The scallops were tiny but tasty. It was £40 per person which is really expensive for what you actually get the portions are tiny and we were still hungry when we got home. Drinks were also expensive we had 7 bottled beers, 2 colas and a hot sake. Our bill for five of us came to £290. I don’t regret going as it was a fun experience, we all enjoyed it and the food was fresh and tasty but I couldn’t justify returning at that price for essentially a few tapas size portions of food. For £40 you get Small bowl miso soup One scallop Two tiger prawns A table spoon size portion of teriyaki chicken A piece of steak the size of a mars bar Few fried cabbage leaves A small cup of egg fried rice One pancake with single scoop of ice cream Coffee or tea"

"I accidentally found the hotel a night as we tried some traditional japaners at a good price in north ealing. my bus has happened this little boutique hotel every day and I have always noticed how full it was, so I decided to go one night in there then, I am back and again in the years. if they are in the ealing area, I would recommend this beautiful little oasis and if they sit in its quiet landscape gardens, it is really hard to remember that they are in london. what I have always loved about momo' is that their japaners really have the traditional look, the presentation and the aromen hold! sad, quite often the waiters don't speak English all that well so they really need to be clear, but I think that this supplement is the charm of the place! *for those of you who are great Japanese fans: their specialties are sushi, Shabu-Shaby!"

"Me and my mum mostly had the small tapas dishes were were nice, nothing spectacular as far as Japanese food goes, but it wasn’t bad. Portions are tiny, the restaurant itself is also very small inside with only a few tables and mostly bar like seats, all stools rather than chairs. Services was good for the most part but very slow for certain dishes, particularly the Katsu dishes which took almost an hour. Anything other than that arrived pretty quickly though, so am not sure why. No sushi, no free selection of sashimi, very limited menu. Overall average at best, certainly not in my recommendations for Japanese or Asian restaurants in Manchester unfortunately."

"We were stuck for something to eat and we fancied something different to our usual cuisine so we opted for Japanese. Picked this place based on the Google reviews and it was between this and Wagamamas. I am still shaking my head at this place.Relatively smallish restaurant with a chef on a grill just as you walk into the place. We ordered a couple of Yakitori's, an Asparagus, Ebi Tempura, Nabe Taki Udon and Chicken Katsu Curry. I ordered the Yakitoris because they were only £1.80 and when we received them, that is all that they were worth to be honest! About 3 small bits of chicken with onion. The Asparagus was £1.80 too, but we only ordered 1 skewer. The Ebi Tempura was £9 and my god that was a rip off! Totally bland batter and far too oily! The watery sauce which accompanied it was tasteless too. For the mains, we had a Chicken Katsu Curry and Nabe Yaki Udon. The only other place I have to compare for the Chicken Katsu Curry is Wagamamas and they would win hands down over this dish! The real disappointment was the Nabe Yaki Udon! We never expected this to be a bowl of hot water with udon noodles, broccoli, egg floating on some green stuff, chicken and a piece of ebi tempura that was just soaked in water! I was thoroughly disgusted with this dish that we left it. At no point did any of the staff check to see if we were happy and to make matters worse, we were charged for service which was nonsense! This place has a lot to learn in terms of ensuring diners leave satisfied especially as we are not the type to kick up a stink while dining out. Maybe we were unlucky with what we chose, but I highly doubt it!"

"Stayed in Holmfirth for a couple of nights and decided to try here. Relaxed dining experience. Served by Hayden who was very helpful and informative. Had mixed Gyoza and bao buns to start. Both had noodles for main. Mine was with king prawns and had lots in and friends was with chicken again lots of meat. Both had Saki which was delicious. Overall a great night. Highly recommended."

"I had a wonderful lunch with my niece today, and we both loved it! The atmosphere was modern and beautiful, creating a really relaxed vibe. The waitresses were very attentive, too. We were the first ones to arrive for lunch, but the place soon started to fill up. Since it's a new restaurant, I understand it may take some time to get busy. I was pleasantly surprised by how excellent the vegetarian menu was; the herb tempura vegetarian noodles are a must-try, and the chocolate fondant dessert paired with Pinot Noir red wine was simply perfect. I can't wait to come back and try it for dinner with friends! xx"

"Absolutely incredible evening at the Broughton on Sunday. We were a large party of adults with small children and we were so well looked after. The staff were attentive, quick and super friendly. The food was delicious at every course, and considering we were a party of 25, everything came out in quick succession and was hot!!! Kids and adults, we all had a great time. Thank you for looking after us so fantastically and whilst also running an incredibly busy restaurant full of lots of other diners to look after! 10/10 in every aspect!!!"

"We decided to dine at wagamama after attending a show with friends. One of our friends had never been to wagamama before, so I assured her she would love it. However, I had to apologize later on. We arrived at 4:45, which was a busy time for staff breaks and evening shift preparation. Our server, Angel, took our order but then seemed to disappear. The first issue arose with the wine – the bottle we ordered arrived opened and missing some wine. When we requested a new bottle, we were told they only had opened bottles with no corks. Eventually, a full bottle was brought to us. We also had to ask multiple times for glasses of tap water, even though the order had been sent to the bar. The edamame beans were disappointing compared to our previous experiences at other wagamama locations. The Ebi Katsu and chili squid were good, but the overall service was lacking. Our server seemed inexperienced and we felt forgotten during our meal. The white chocolate and ginger cheesecake, normally a favorite of mine, was served frozen solid. Overall, our experience at the Hammersmith wagamama was disappointing and did not live up to the standards we expect from the chain. I hope that the management will address these issues and bring the branch up to the level of other wagamama locations. I would recommend trying a different branch and not the one in Hammersmith."

"Monika, (the owner) is a vegan, and she's very welcoming and chatty. I feel like a valued customer and I've only been in twice so far.... but then I only discovered this place a few weeks ago! When you're used to walking into a restaurant and only having one vegan option available, and then you walk into Koku [censored] and find they have a huge number of vegan options, you can't help thinking you must be dreaming. You're not, even if the food does taste every bit as good as you would dream! Good prices too. I really can't recommend this place enough, nor can I wait to visit again. Only Happy Cow's rules about non-fully vegan restaurants stop this being a five star-star review."
