"We have decided to eat at A L’Echevin after a very positive experience at the Marechal hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful and fluently speaking English. We took the menu 5 courses at 75€ clearly too overpriced for what we got. 2 amuses (gazpacho of melon/ Thai shrimps) very average : amuses should get the tone of the dinner and we started to be disappointed. First starter of langoustine and mango: veery simple strange consistency of the langoustine. Second starter foie gras: excellent. Main: lam excellent. Then 2 desserts: first with tropical fruits but the dominant note was mango (again) the second a monotone of raspberry in every form without any phantasy. Very kind was to get coffee sweets even without ordering coffee … guess! Mango jelly and raspberry marshmallow …. It would have been better to order a la carte and probably location too much touristic. When joking we said the chef likes mango, the staff was pretty defensive. At the end spent 201€ with one good bottle but not really gastronomic experience"

Exquisite meal in a fabulous setting. This was the best French dining experience I’ve ever had. Our waitperson was perfect in execution and so gracious and welcoming.

We ordered the 7 course menu, expecting a gastronomic experience. Unfortunately, all the dishes were very basic and simple. I would expect this kind of cuisine in a simple restaurant of even a brasserie. Luckily the portions were large for a 7 course menu, so we weren't hungry. If you come here I would advice to just order à la carte, the menu is just not worth it.

We were lucky enough to get a booking on a very busy public holiday weekend. I had read excellent reviews of this restaurant and my visit was no different. The staff were friendly, attentive and highly efficient. The food was wonderful and reasonably priced. The setting of the restaurant is refined but comfortable. We had a three course meal and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend a visit. View menu

The food was outstanding as was the table, service and staff. The intimacy of a small, intimate restaurant overlooking the river with a small but brilliant menu. The food might have been sourced locally but the nuances of taste and presentation were an upgrade from “Alsatian” food. Our captain paired my wine beautifully with my selections and the presentations were lovely. Most important: Delicious!!

We had dinner on this restaurant on our recent visit at Colmar. The food was really good, the atmosphere beautiful and calm. The staff was really really friendly and helpful too. More importantly, this restaurant is one of the very very few places in Colmar who spoke English and had English menus, which made this experience even better. Compared to all the other days in Colmar, where we felt really unwelcome since we needed half an hour to Google Translate everything on the menu and place our order, on A L'Echevin this was a piece of cake. We'll definately dine again in our next visit to Colmar.

"came last night to dinner in the beautiful colmar. we booked a few weeks before the visit, although it was a weekday. but that was good. the place was completely booked, several people were turned away during dinner. staff and owners here are very friendly, very helpful and extremely attentive. you really feel welcome and take care of it. after the complementary amuse bouche we have our starter: the foie gras (ente and gänse.) two generous discs of the best quality. smooth silky, great aromas. it was great. also good to share (because our head was pretty big) then we went to our head: bouillabaisse! a rich fish soup, one of the famous classic French dishes. here it is presented in three portions. So it's a pretty big, filling food. the broth of the suppe itself was really full of wonderful aromas. large equal weight of seasoned and salt. the first plate came with lobster dick. on the side was crispy brot, screed and crushed cheese. put the scab on the brot and the tip it with cheese. put it in the suppe, shake it for a short time and eat. great combination! the second and third portion came with different species of fish. all of high quality. all with very few fish bones. after three plates, each bouillabaisse had disappeared and we were pretty full. a really fantastic meal, great bouillabaisse. it is served only by two people and above. other elements in the menu also looked very good. but perhaps for another time. definitiw a great restaurant. starter, bottle crémant and bouillabaisse for two for about 150 euro. fairer price for a michelin restaurant of this quality. highly recommended."
