"Looking for a special restaurant to mark the end of our son's 10-day holiday with us, we were recommended Restaurant a Roda as a place locals frequent away from the more touristy venues along the seafront at nearby Concha Beach. We were pleased we followed the advice as our party of three enjoyed an excellent and reasonably priced dinner. We were particularly pleased that we were not the only diners, though being an out-of-season Thursday evening, it was still sparsely populated. Despite that the atmosphere was convivial and our waiter was welcoming and attentive, even though he couldn't speak English and our Spanish is virtually non-existent. We chose our starters of calamares a la Romana, a house salad and a plate of Iberico ham but the waiter, noting that they were for us individually rather than for sharing, adjusted the portion sizes and prices to reflect this, which we thought showed excellent consideration for diners' needs. My son and I had entrecôte, which was huge and beautifully cooked and served in a sauce of our choosing. My wife also said her lemon sole was superb and she would definitely choose it again if we ever return. We were slightly disappointed that our first choice of wine was not available but the (cheaper) alternative was really delicious and quaffable so no complaints there. There was also no solomillo available and the waiter admitted the pudding menu was also a bit restricted, though the flan and tarta Santiago we had were home made and delicious. With drinks, including a large gin and tonic, a bottle of Rioja, mineral water and coffees, the total bill came to just over €112 which we all agreed was great value. Diners looking to get off the tourist track should certainly include Restaurant a Roda in their itinerary for an authentic taste of Spain. Muy bien."

Restaurante, no excesivamente caro con buena cocina. Sólo un pero, cuando se llena y hay alguna mesa gritona, molesta el ruido, se oye mucho.

Muy bien. Buena relación calidad-precio. El pulpo a feira muy muy tierno. Chuletón de ternera grande (no es añojo, no está curado pero está bueno). Muy buen servicio. Atentos y bastante rápidos en todo. Hemos salido contentos, lo recomendamos. El rodaballo genial, muy buen punto y sabor.

one of lime and another of sand, I explain, it is Iberian ham to taste it and especially if it is Iberian, it should be cut to knife, with a cutting machine it heats-burns the ham and goes the flavor, also the Iberian carries infliltrations of fat, so it gives a special flavor, so the ration was not corresponding to iberian ham, although the price is very good

View menu

a ver, excelente en calidad precio y servicio. si lo comparas con otros restaurantes de oropesa más caros deberían darle una estrella michelín. recomiendo pulpo, calamares de la patagonia y solomillo, eso eso es lo que comimos pero me da que el resto estará al mismo nivel. hasta los postres caseros son muy buenos, y para los amantes del orujo autóctono de galicia, paso obligatorio. see, quality excellent with cheap price. if they compare it to other more expensive places in oropesa a roda should have a michelín star. I recommend the otopus at starter and solomillo. best orujo gallego licuor un castellón. the house made dessert are really nice.

Went to Restaurante A Roda a year on from our first visit. Still a great place away from the tourist trail in the lovely little town of Oropesa del Mar. The food is good, authentic Spanish fare with no pretensions, just like this restaurant bar, which is clearly popular with the locals. The service is friendly and, even though we speak very little Spanish, the staff could not have been more helpful. Our three-course meal for three, including a pre-dinner G&T, a bottle of mineral water and a decent Marques de Caceres Rioja, a coffee and a Carajillo, came to just over €118, which we thought was very reasonable. As with most Spanish restaurants go late. We booked a table for 9pm and it was empt...
